You also assumed we were ALL flamers and spammers. What about Ice and myself, at least?
No I didn't assume. It wasn't even clear, it was generic on purpose. I read intent and how people replied after where people posted, ie: getting statistics. I do not know who did it specifically, but the people who did call him a troll and stuck to it are the fools.

Oh nonononono. You sprouted to a new discussion. I want to CHANGE the topic. Black doesn't know what he's talking about at the moment, so ignore him.

Nice try though.
I just said the same thing as you >_>

@Icy: But that ropes myself and Ice in with it. The term ALL is an assuming term.

Has there been a discussion about a New RC mod? Cus I just think RC needs an extra mod since Yankee resigned.
... I've got that covered <_<" lol... And why would you only say RC?

Well, you continue to have your discussion on the side (or as the main discussion, although main is subjective to who is in the discussion), and I'd like to continue to discuss unicorns. And I will have it be known that my topic is completely on-topic and not spamming. It was a free-flowing discussion, and I am entitled to discuss it.

If you allow me to freely discuss it without any reprimands, I will not say a single word about Flame Dragon's proposition anymore. I promise.

And Fading, where in the hell did you get religious trolling from? I already went over the definition of trolling, and the hell/heaven thing was just an excuse- I mean a free-flowing conversation so I could discuss unicorns.

Robot unicorns are okay, but they are a bit too... shiny. Eh, I still prefer invisible pink ones, although I spotted a few green ones outside of my house today.

Someone explain why no one continued my topic of unicorns. I particularly love that topic. D:

Unicorns are awesome. What are your opinions on [s]the rights of cavemen to compete in NASCAR[/s] butterflies?
Watch your tongue. He posted that to clarify whether or not he was trolling you all or not, and since a person in my position is the one who dictates such things. He did not troll at all, he merely defended his position. That's where Amethyst got riled up in all the hubub (passionate I praise) but he did instigate hostility with the first stone. THAT is what he wanted to clarify.
I made a post that was responding to the idea in general and mainly to Flame Dragon.

I was defending my ideas because I interpreted Dark's argument as a response.

And you agreed with me in MSN when I said discussing C&O with you was completely pointless because you disregard/consider garbage everything on this site that isn't the CC section. So why are you even getting involved in the C&O discussion?

Also this doesn't really pertain to the argument, but chances are if you aren't my friend and/or I have no idea who you are, then you shouldn't be calling me Ammy =/

It's almost as annoying as Icy's insistence on calling me by my first name XD

I understand that, erm by RC I mean the whole CC area. Your technically the only mod who watches over it. Wouldn't it be a pain to handle all those reports, by yourself. ...Then again if you do suddenly do go on vacation (simulation that went through my mind) commonsense told me you would tell Supers beforehand ;D

Thank you, Ammy. It seems that we have reached a compromise, and I somewhat love you again. Kind of. Not really.

Unicorns are pretty cool, agreed. I will reply to your crossed out text, however. Cavemen can't really drive cars too well, but unless we try it, we cannot determine how it'd turn out.

Butterflies are okay, but as denoted by Spongebob, are deadly killers.

Anyway, I see a lot has happened while I was away. I even went back and read through it and I came to the conclusion that we have been arguing the wrong thing. What we really need to figure out is "What is the definition of spam".

Edit: Pink Unicorns are awesome.

Actually, no. I'm not really that into watching South Park; I prefer The Simpsons and Futurama.

Which brings me to another point: how far (if at all) should the censorship of televised programs go?

I see what you're trying to do here.

While the Unicorn thing was batshit random, I think the rest of it classifies as free-flowing.

Although you are sort of speeding it along faster, I'm going to chalk that up to not drawing out your point-engine's length further than needed to be effective XD

I think censorship is stupid, but that when f-bombs and the like are used sparingly they carry more weight than they do when dropped every other line (which eventually diminishes their impact to nothing).

I'm not doing a thing; in fact, I've even dropped the entire debate topic (and so have you, thank Satan) just so people would allow me to talk about unicorns and everything else that came up in my mind that I could think of logic for to discuss it.

The unicorn thing was not random. The debate made me want to go to hell, but I like heaven better. Unicorns are in heaven. We kind of skipped the hell/heaven discussion, but that was moreso in my mind. I just wanted to talk about unicorns. It was not spontaneous, it was free-flowing. And yes, the rest of it is free-flowing. My point (from before, but remember, I dropped the debate) was that I consider half of this crap spam since we should be talking about YCM and its issues, but I'm just happy I can talk about unicorns freely.

For some reason I didn't understand the latter half of your third statement, but now you made me think of chalkboards. So, guys, chalkboards or dry-erase boards. Which do you prefer? Unlike most, I like chalkboards since chalk is a lot cheaper, and some dry-erase boards literally have a hate-hate relationship with certain brands of markers.

Censorship is stupid, yes, but there needs to be more restrictions to make sure my three-year-old kid does not watch the Playboy channel. I guess that is what parental controls are for, though. Eh. :/

However, the same problem can happen when people have several ideas on varying subjects, and thus are forced to slot them into their own separate threads for the sake of organization. The entire section is a cluttered mess of small vignettes. It's at the opposite end of the spectrum, but attain the same effect. *Hot and Cold both burning you at extremes analogy goes here*
Not really. Odds are topics that are just getting passing mentions won't last long enough to have people care enough about them to make threads about them.
My platform is this: While clubs may get out of control rather often, they rarely plunge into utter chaos (the ones that do ultimately fail anyway). They maintain some shred of order, and always reach equilibrium. I believe what we have now is a happy medium situated safely away from both of those horrible extremes. I know I haven't been around as long as some of the people here, but I've been present long enough to make an observation over a reasonable period of time. I think we're fine the way we are, and that your new stricter management coupled with a forced reboot of all the clubs is an unnecessary hiccup that will ultimately fade away even if you do go through with it. Why not just save everyone the pain of that?
Chaos by definition is disorder and random and when I look at a club that has found a way to talk abut yugioh, pokemon, baseball, dragons, and the office that is what I think. And they don't die. Taking a look at one of the clubs where the topics are "Basically talk about Pokemon, Yugioh, Naruto and other stuff that comes up." That is way to many topics and they have no real common point. Hell, it even kind of says that you can talk abut anything.

And yea, it could just fad after time, but clearly something is wrong when threads that have the above are common place. That kind of thing would not be tolerated in the rest of the forum so why should it be tolerated here?
Flame Dragon... your post looks like crap. And yes, MyBB didn't have quote limits, guys.
It did. I had no idea we had a quote limit till I made the post and by that time I had spent some time making it so I just posted it.

And yea, i hate the new quote system.
And how to you plan on enforcing new rules if people are already in the routine of spamming in C&O? My logic is that if we start anew (and if every club starts anew), rules can be enforced from post one, as opposed to the club going through 2590 posts under the old rules and post 2591 starts under the new rules.
This is also my logic. I honestly think this has the greatest chance of working, especially if we make club leaders accountable for what goes on in there club. My hope is they will think harder when they make the club and won't let things to drift as much as they do.

Any way, I read the rest of the thread and I could think of anything to say about unicorns is I like it when they are robots and when they are attacking.

Dark you're changing the topic every other post in an effort to annoy me through it, and once you have me annoyed you'll claim that said feelings are the result of the system I'm arguing in favor of, thus invalidating my argument. Correct?

It's not working, and the obviousness and artificial tone isn't helping maintain the facade at all.

@FD: It's just kind of annoying when you have to constantly think to yourself "Oh, at if this comment isn't cose enough to the topic? What if this has the slightest chance of derailing us? I'll just stay quiet so I don't screw everything up for the rest of us and put unnecessary stress on the club leader."

Get enough people thinking that, and it will kill clubs. Plus the even the existence of those thoughts in the back of our heads causes undue stress, thus defeating the purpose of (As Dark put it) a "chill fun-fun" zone.

Another concern of mine is best voiced from this excerpt from a conversation between me and Icy:

".and that's one of the things I'm worried about.

Moderators scanning EVERY LAST THING WE SAY and butting in to re-affirm their ego when our opinions are anything less than flattering. Like you did to Black."

I realize this is somewhat 1984 style paranoia, but still, it's a concern of mine nonetheless.

I'm confused as to why you keep pursuing me on this, Ammy. I am simply talking about things that are in the free-flowing conversation. If you would not like to take part in the conversations, you don't have to. But please do not butt into my conversations and attempt to tell me what I am thinking or trying to do. I have already dropped the debate, so give your end a rest. It makes you look very argumentative, honestly.

Now, I think we were discussing either robots or NASCAR. Which leads me to another question: would you allow robots to take part in NASCAR races?

IMO, I'm on of the most lax mods on the site. I understand people spam and what not. I'm not going to go and kill a club because I see some posts that are spam. It's when whole pages have nothing to do with the main topic that I feel something has gone wrong. So long as you get back on track in a timely manner I look some slips.
