Oh it was just a little club that went no where, we didn't even get as much as five members ^^;

But it was called the "Valiant Aliance" and had the same focus as this one, trying to improve YCMaker from all of it's techniqual and social problems.

Now I'd like to add a bit to the topics that, where, at hand ^^ First I do agree on the new mod switch out- though I would prefer to keep some of the OLD mods still on staff, Phantom Roxas, Flame Dragon, etc etc.

I'd also like to see an improvement on the Saved Drafts like we had before the move- or at least a notepad section. Not only that but I IMPLORE YCM to bring back the "delete a thread" function so you can delete the threads you are/were a part of. I really don't want to see any updates in a thread if I've long since left the conversation.

And finally . . . yeah I know my first post was going to be a ramble but still XD . . . I think if YCMaker isn't going to do anything about the problems of YCMaker or doesn't get on for months at a time then it might be for the best to have even him replaced- most likely by his brother Falling Pizza, and have one of the Super Mods fill in Pizza's space. Yeah conterversial I know. "How can you even suggest replacing the person who CREATED YCMaker?!"
ANSWER: Easy . . . he no longer wants to do it, we shouldn't have to deal with it.

I was just thinking they kept order. They can't lock threads or anything, just "spiritually lock" topics and have the authority of mods, not the power.

The problem is that people might not listen to "second in commands".

We never said that we would replace all mods. We just agreed on getting new mods, and possibly getting rid of inactive mods.

I'd also like to see an improvement on the Saved Drafts like we had before the move- or at least a notepad section.

A notepad like the one we have in "My Settings"?

Getting drafts back is good, but I don't see why people can't use Word or some other program. Word is even better since it has spell check.

Not only that but I IMPLORE YCM to bring back the "delete a thread" function so you can delete the threads you are/were a part of. I really don't want to see any updates in a thread if I've long since left the conversation.

Umm...I don't remember being able to delete our own threads back in MyBB. YCMaker and a couple mods didn't agree to letting members lock their own threads, so I don't think deleting threads will fare better. Even I disagree with it.

I have no idea why you keep calling this site YCMaker. And Falling Pizza is YCMaker's brother? What?

Doesn't YCMaker get money for ads here? Why would he stop wanting to get money?

I've had an idea, and this seems like a good place to discuss it.

I was thinking about "second in command" members in each section. The mods of the section appoint a member, and make a sticky or announcement about it.

Think of it as hall monitors. And there would be one for each SECTION. Not 1 just for General, 1 for General, 1 for Clubs, 1 for Polls, etc. And it'd go for the whole forum.

Seems like a massive change for the forum, but it's just a thought. What do you think?

It seems like a really big excuse to make mini-modding legal.

...but moreover, I would not listen to anyone that has no power, because they couldn't touch a hair on my head. They could go whine to an adult and the adult could touch a hair on my head, but I can already think of a few loopholes with that.

How about we institute a "moderator training program", such that we kind of twist your idea a bit, as in, specify it a bit more, and institute like three people into the program for every forum that is in need of mods? That way, while the same problems do occur with your proposition, you can judge a member's moderating ability by how well they overcome these loopholes and how well they control an entire forum of YCM.

Eh, I'd need to expand the details a bit more, but it seems viable.

See, that's the problem. Who would listen to someone that says, "okay guys, spiritual lock power go! don't post or else... I'll tell MarbleZone..."

I'd laugh at them for hours on end, and then end up posting in the to-be-locked thread anyways.

Somehow this reminded me of the Icy situation.

Wait.
BROTHERS?!
NANI?!

On topic: how about we just do another PM to YCMaker, maybe he'd agree that inactive mods should be replaced.
And Icy, the ideas I understood sounded good in that thread.

OMG yes Falling Pizza and YCMaker are brothers, I've asked them both and they said so. I honestly didn't know YCMaker got PAYED just to won the web site, but you'd think he'd do something to make it improve- still say if he doesn't he should give it up <_<

Also Twig when I said "delete threads" I was refering to what you were able to do in "My Contents" before the move. Post in a thread and you'd autowatch it, but when you got bored you could delete your watching it; here as far as I can figure you are not able to do that.

And Black RPGs are honestly, imo, the proper way to say it. Role Playing vs Role Playing Game- though MYstic Keeper is right they are the same XD

Don't consistently PM YCMaker. I understand he is the owner of the website, but he's a busy man. Constantly nudging him about inactive mods won't get things moved any faster. Besides, there's little to no-one here that can replace them.

Well I've only ever Pmed him on rare occassions, I've found Pizza a lot more sociable and willing to help. Which, to rebuff your last statement, Falling Pizza would make an excellent replacement.
For YCMaker? Yeah, I suppose. But it won't happen, you can believe that. Because, when you get paid on a high traffic website through ads, you aren't going to just turn it over for "the sake of the community". Don't get me wrong, I know YCMaker works his ass off to provide us with a decent experience here at YCM, as does Pizza, but that doesn't mean control is going to shift because one is fairly active, and the other barely shows his face. Money runs just about everything in this world, including control.

Ahem...*takes out the publicity trumpet*

Do you want to b**** about the mods? Have complaints but want to do it anonymously? Do you think the site is full of n00bs and want to spam for once without getting banhammered?
Then click on the cakes!=D

...Hope that was good enough. I feel like I need to make publicity because only a few people have submitted something so far and it's just...not going to be funny if we leave it at that.

I try and do that with CC but the other staff shoot me down every time v.v... Or people just don't pass all marks and make it useless. Tried, ineffective.

And "Spiritual Locking" is just meh, we have member control now. Stop them, warn people and hush up. =/ Modding outside your section requires severe reasoning anyway... Just posting it is wtf.

Been a while since I was here. Since I don't want to read though all of this, what are we talking about?

Ok, I'm not going to break my own rules. After reading over the last page it seems to be that we still want more mods, or at least more helpers, other things that should be fixed around the forum, and that FP and YCMaker are bros.

For the first getting helpers won't do much. They really would only be able to report threads and say "ok guys, let this thread die." IMO it won't solve much of anything since they wouldn't be able to do much. Dark's idea is kind of how we already go about picking mods, but it might help to find people that would be good fits for the job.

IMO easy fix for the second point is just go back to the old forum. It might be because it was what we started with, but it work fine side from the lag (something we still get here). Sure we got some nice things out of the move, but I don't think many people use the (who is going to tell people on Face Book that their on YCM?) or make things worse (status). Plus as said the mods tools are just crap.

Yea, it's fun to learn tivia like that. Also, since I think I saw something about FP being made full admin I agree with this fully.

YCM was down half the day, everyday for me and many others. Now, it goes down for maybe ten-fifteen minutes once a month of so. And people want to go back to the old forum. YCM never ceases to amaze me. People act like the lag back then didn't do anything, when we still had that forum we couldn't do anything for half the day. We do not need to go back.
