Also, the majority of new RPers seem to WANT to post less.... so, most will go to Beginners.

Again, the RP Section gets almost no criticism at all. Do you get what I'm saying?

True, but that's the same purpose for Beginner Section. If the new guys RP with the experienced RPers, they can see how they are supposed to post. The detail and such. Ig they do not... they'll just stay there forever, or leave.

XD

I absolutely get what you're saying. It's not a rating section... I should start my Role Patrolling back up....

Strange. You worded that first paragraph as if this were an RP site. Because based on your own direction of reasoning...
A site that is not about a subject should compensate for that subject by making it more readily accessible, than a site that is about said subject.
Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? If anything, YCM should force the Advance Clause moreso than a site about RPing because it does not cater to RPers.

And it's just my standard Tainted, I usually reserve 1 paragraph for actions. Another for Conversation and another for follow-up.

You're right, we are not an RPing site... but, RPing sites are usually filled by people that start in small, non-RP centered websites like this. It's a Gateway site to the internetz, as they are called. To call YCM Advanced is laughable, so a Beginner section, to teach them how to do it right, is not a bad idea. Then they will move on to other RPing sites, where the standards are much, much higher than here.

Also, if we shove the Advanced Clause down other's throats then we will have fewer and fewer RPers. Where does that get us?

Aaah... I like that.

I get what you are saying... It is not a critiquing section.

Example:
Fanfics:
Comments on the Fic.
Mistakes pointed out.
FF writer hopefully learns from his mistakes.

RPs:
Members join.
OOC is for the RP, not comments on the RP itself, or RPers.
RPer has to conciously change in the unrated section.

Also, I do criticize the RP itself, true... But, criticizing a post is not as simple as criticizing an RP, ironically.

Regardless. Your reasoning on why we need a Beginner's Section does not make sense at all. Nor does it compensate for how fragmented it makes the very idea of Roleplaying on a Forum. Now if you had worded it as;
"Many children are seldom allowed on different websites without their parental permission so having it all in one space would make it easier on Children as well as their families."
... You'd be justified. Enough to actually POST this suggestion.

How does THAT make any sense? How will this benefit their families? Make their children more internet literate? That does next to nothing for them.

Why do we even care about the RP section where is it just a side forum non-related to the website?

How we all make clubs like, what, Pokemon clubs and Digimon clubs in a YUGIOH forum?

Are we slowly getting off track the original intention of this forum?
Because every member makes cards, right? Seriously, have you even been looking at the forums? C&O and RP are two big sections. There's no "Getting Off Topic" with a Forum.

I mean, you're in a club. RIGHT NOW.

Technically this isn't even a Yugioh site. Its a site that merely uses the Yugioh card design as a basis for custom card making because the Anime, Manga and Card series are so popular. The main part of the forum is the Custom Card section even an Anime thread talking about GX or 5D's is off topic according to your logic.

Basically people join because of the Card Maker and they stay because of the community and everything this community does, such as RolePlays, Games and Clubs. Everything on YCM is just as important as everything else, but things have to take priority.

I think that what Icy meant was that if we give the kids what they need here, their families won't have to trawl a site just because the kid want to go on it.

This. Many sites that cater towards younger people also make sure all the basics are there so they can get less permission to go and remain elsewhere.

I'm sure families wouldn't doubt that a site caled anything card maker (cept maybe if you add the word porn before card) would be bad for their children.

So I can definitely see that as a valid point.

And, I suppose our focus now is RPs.

Well, I do agree with Black, a Basic section is needed.

I believe he's listed everything as to why.

Well, I've come across a bit of info:

YCMaker has an AIM, not MSN, and he has been asked to be on it more. So, we need someone here to get on AIM to talk to him, if he does get on it. Anyone?

I realize Old News is probably Old, but worth a shot, non?
