A suggestion for saveable trolls

Pichu just got back, and his presence brought back an idea I never posted.

How about, for people who are or seem like trolls, but wearnt in the begining, and were just corrupted, we try to, instead of shoo them away, by trolling, which could just make them bigger trolls, we try to find the ones who seem like they can still be saved, I may be the only one who belives this, but I think that even people like Pichu and Ianwatters can become good members with the right response, if we can just set them on the right path, then mabye they'll follow that path to being a well respected member, instead of a troll that nobody likes.

My simple suggestion is that we give these people a few tips, and whenever we see a new member make a mistake, just nudge them in the right direction,

For example, if this was posted anywhere besides the questions section

I belive if we did little things like this, it could help new members who seem to be trolls, or might become them later, on to the right path.

Read the rules and follow them. Trolls are not welcome in any shape or form. And will be dealt with as such.

I've told spider5667 multiple times to stop posting trollish things. Thing is, some trolls can't understand the logic needed in a particular section, and therefore become an annoyance that can't be removed.

As much as I would just love to have this go, I know it can never happen.

Yeah, Pichu could obviously be saved if we just explained things to him more kindly. After all, how was he supposed to know that copying and pasting someone else's fanfic and posting it as if he wrote it himself and then making the tiny chapter that he actually wrote incredibly sexist might just possibly be a bad thing? Obviously, the underlying problem is that everyone on YCM is a meanieface for not explaining to him politely why being a plagiarizing misogynist is frowned upon. I mean, sure, that's what people did, and the only response it got was Pichu implausibly denying that he didn't really copy someone else's fanfic (even after the original had already been identified), but still, we could obviously have stopped Pichu from being an idiot troll if we'd just been all nice and huggy about it.

On a completely unrelated note, what exactly is meant by a "saveable" troll? Who decides when a troll is saveable? And on a more important note, is the cost of "saving" a troll worth it in the long run?

A saveable troll is when your nice and help them, they stop trolling. if they don't then they're unsaveable. Ans it is worth it because it will mean more good members and less trolls.

I find your definition and example of trolling extremely idiotic. Your definition of the 'wrong' thing to say, although being wrong, is not trolling in any definition of the term. Please remove of traces of the word 'troll' in your first post if you are going to keep this campaign.

Quite. The thing the thread creator wrote was just a "bit harsh", and not "trolling". Troll-flame is when you're being genius by looking idiotic.
