I heard of doppelganger. I read them in John Constantine: Hellblazer. Doppelganger's lore vary from different places or region but from what I read it hellblazer, doppelganger are demons or you as a demon from parallel universe. So the short story is that their pretty much you as a demon from a parallel universe.

Hun... NEXUSgrave I didn't realy understand what you said, but the only way that I can think to beat a dopleganger that is mimicing you is to find it and fight it till death, but you can also think about something else to beat him... hey what would happen if a Dopleganger see itself on a mirror?

Would it shows its real form or what?

what I'm saying is that doppelganger are ourself as a demon from a parallel universe. That's just what I read in hellblazer and there's tons of lore about them.

Oh. well what I thin about a Dopleganger and mirrors are, if they look at someone else they turn into that person, but if they look at themselfes at a mirror even if they have other persons aperence they willl still be looking to themselfes so they would turn into theyr original form. so what you guys think about this teory?

before I write anything else....

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

So concerning the Doppelgänger topics... well yes Doppelgänger is a German word for a ghostly double of a living person. In fiction, folklore, and popular culture, a doppelgänger is a tangible double of a living person that typically represents evil. In the vernacular, the word doppelgänger has come to refer (as in German "doppelt(e)") to any double or look-alike of a person. The word is also used to describe the sensation of having glimpsed oneself in peripheral vision, in a position where there is no chance that it could have been a reflection. Doppelgängers are often perceived as a sinister form of bilocation and generally regarded as harbingers of bad luck. In some traditions, a doppelgänger seen by a person's friends or relatives portends illness or danger, while seeing one's own doppelgänger is an omen of death. In Norse mythology, a vardøger is a ghostly double who precedes a living person and is seen performing their actions in advance. In Ancient Egyptian mythology, a "ka" was a tangible "spirit double" having the same memories and feeling as the original person. In one Egyptian myth titled "The Greek Princess", an Egyptian view of the Trojan War, a ka of Helen was used to mislead Paris of Troy, helping to stop the war.

There are two types of doppleganger. The normal doppleganger is usually refers to an alter ego and dark side or just someone who looks similar to you but is completely different or just the opposite. The story of doppleganger usually revolve on witchcraft where someone would create a dark version of you to either end you or just to ruin your social life like how they say, death by your own hands..

The 2nd type of doppleganger is the shadow doppleganger. I just watch a really cool movie called Scott Pilgrim VS The World and it's graphic novels. In the movie/gn, Scott has a shadow doppleganger called NegaScott. NegaScott is not an alter ego nor the dark side of Scott but represents his forgotten past mistakes. Negascott represents all of Scott's callousness, spite, faults, and flaws, and rather than accepting them and himself, he runs from them, thus creating this physical persona.

well looking back at it, the 2 doesn't really have much different though but other examples are like the signer and the dark signer. The dark signer are just the opposite of signers.

Yes, well done on the research. Anyway that basically covers what a doppelganger is, however just a fair warning, don't always refer to the media as a viable representation of anything. They aren't always right. They'll interpret it in their own way to tell the story. Freddy Krueger is an interpretation of a boogeyman, but he isn't the best representative of boogeymen (as we have discussed already).

BTW, Merry Christmas all. +Rep for everyone today for being awesome.

@Nexus and 5D's, I'll Rep you both tomorrow. I'm out for the day.
