An ambulance was on its way. Followed by a tow truck, the ambulance took Akarui and the remainder of his deck that was on the ground, and the tow truck took both the Duel Runner and the car.

Akarui was alive and well in a hospital bed. He was looking through his deck which was on his bedside table. He stopped when he realized his prized Metal Warrior - Ultimate was not there. He realized it must of been that person who he had asked to help him. He tried to get out of bed but it was too painful for him. He realized he'd have to wait a while until he could get his card back....

[color=gray]Jack was speechless, in more ways than one as the strange kid was hauled away in an ambulance with his Duel Runner and the car he hit both being dragged away on the same tow truck, [u]I hope he's got good insurance.[/u] He typed to Cecilia, [u]That car was expensive, and not only is it totaled, but his Duel Runner's wrecked... Oh, and I think he might've broken something too, but really, for someone to ruin that great of a car...[/u] It was at this point that Jack's message devolved into angrish and Cecilia didn't even bother trying to follow it anymore.[/color]

Her mood boosted ever so slightly, Cecilia snickered. "I doubt he carries insurance," she said, casually placing the card she had picked up into a slot of her own Disk, the one reserved for Extra Deck cards. It was probably safer there than anywhere else on her person, anyway. She studied Jack's message curiously, noting with great amusement the way he stopped making sense when talking about the car. "You seem to assume he did it on purpose," she said. "I expect he's just a klutz."

"We don't even know who he is," she realized.

[color=gray][u]I know it wasn't on purpose.[/u] Jack said after his tirade was done, [u]But it just frustrates me that someone could do THAT to such a work of art. Do you have any idea how much hard work and effort went into every aspect of that car's frame? How long it took the design team to get everything balanced and weighted down just right? That car and that Duel Runner are both works of art, testaments to the hard work of God knows how many teams of people that we've never, and probably will never, know the names of.[/u] Jack by now was breathing heavily and was obviously flustered and on the verge of another outburst.[/color]

Cecilia's expression of bewilderment intensified with every line of his message she read. She had never bothered to appreciate machines in such a fashion, but she shrugged. "Isn't all art like that? Delicate and easily destroyed?" she countered. "No matter how much time, money, and effort is put into something, it can be undone in an instant by someone reckless and foolish. Some have found the same thing applies to a duel, but I don't care much for the philosophy."

She gazed up at the taller boy for several long moments. "Shall we move on or do you feel like giving the car a proper mourning?" she asked, smirking.

Vicky drew her card. [color=#800080]"I draw, and I play Terraforming, allowing me to add Colosseum - Cage of the Gladiator Beasts to my hand, which I will now activate!"[/color] A huge stadium made of a strange grey stone engraved with glowing lines erupted from the earth around them. [color=#800080]"I will set a face-down monster, then end my turn!"[/color]

Meanwhile, Rei had no idea why this spot was important to Ruby. [color=#FF69B4]"So, why is this place important?"[/color] She asked nicely.

[color=#FF0000]"Blue-Eyes White Dragon/AR, destroy his monsters! Burst Stream of Destruction!"[/color]
Itsu, who had summoned an improved version of the classic legend, was about to annihilate the monsters of her opponent.
[color=#A9A9A9]"I am afraid you are mistaken, my dear. I activate Destruction Jammer, negating your Burst Stream and destroying your Blue-Eyes."[/color]
Her opponent, a strange man whose face was obscured in darkness and clad in raggedy cowboy-like attire riding a skeletal Duel Runner, flipped up one of his Trap Cards, which reflected the blast back at Itsu's monster.
[color=#FF0000]"Well, I will negate your Trap with my Stardust Dragon/AR! If you recall, I can Tribute him to negate the destruction of my monster!"[/color]
Her version of Stardust Dragon started to glow, then, in a burst of light, it disappeared.
[color=#FF0000]"Going into my Battle Phase, Red-Eyes Black Dragon/AR, attack his Skull Flames! Inferno Fire Blast!"[/color]
The alternate version of Joey Wheeler's famous card fired a fireball at the undead pyromancer opposing it, but the zombie absorbed the blast, then fired it back at double strength, incinerating the dragon. (Itsu: 1300 LP -> 1100 LP)
[color=#A9A9A9]"That was pointless."[/color] The man commented.
[color=#FF0000]"No, it wasn't, because my Red-Eyes deals damage equal to its ATK when it is destroyed!"[/color]
Skull Flames started to inflate like a balloon, then it spouted out black flames to defuse himself, which engulfed his master. (??? ?? ????: 2900 LP -> 500 LP)
[color=#FF0000]"Now, Blue-Eyes, attack his Skull Flames! White Lightning!"[/color]
The dragon charged up another attack, which sent ionized energy at the strange man's fiery lich, destroying it. (??? ?? ????: 500 LP -> 100 LP)
[color=#FF0000]"I will end my turn, allowing my Stardust to come back!"[/color] Itsu declared as her other dragon came back.
[color=#A9A9A9]"I draw, and I remove from play Skull Flames from my Graveyard to Special Summon Supersonic Skull Flames from my hand."[/color]
An upgraded version of the man's previous monster, now with different-colored flames and a centaur-like body, started running alongside his master's Duel Runner. (2600 ATK)
[color=#A9A9A9]"Now I will activate my final Trap Card, Foolish Mass Burial."[/color]

The zombie centaur released a wave of fire that engulfed the cyborg, finishing her off. (Itsu: 1100 LP -> 0 LP)
Itsu careened off of the road they were on and towards a nearby mall...

It took many hours but Akarui was finally out of the hospital, but he had an internal injury and a broken leg. He was on crutches, he was limping out of the hospital, he was still in pain, but he really needed his card back. He was on his way down to where the crash had happened, he would recover his Duel Runner after he was healed enough to ride it. He would also tune it up a few notches. He was about half way there, people on the street were staring at him. He didn't give a damn about it. He picked up the pace, trying to get there faster, but the faster he went, the more painful it got...

[color=gray]Jack smiled and chuckled silently before pulling out a notebook, a roll of scotch tape, and a pen from his backpack. He quickly wrote out the name and address of an auto repair shop, tore several flaps on the bottom of the paper and wrote a phone number on each one, and finally taped the paper to a lightpost, [u]No sense morning the wounded.[/u] Jack typed, [u]The car can still be repaired, the Duel Runner's still salvageable, if they get taken to a licensed mechanic and not some two-bit hack, that is.[/u] The mute told Cecilia, [u]So, where too, milady?[/u][/color]

[color=red]"You don't remember?" She asked, sounding slightly hurt,"Eria had just gotten her memories back. Minerva sent her after you. We managed to get away before anything major was done." Ruby held her 'friend' closer to her, "We were both so scared. We didn't know what was going on or why she was after you. The adrenaline was making our hearts race faster than they ever have before or since, clouding our judgment. We weren't even thinking when we..." Ruby finished the sentence by giving Rei a kiss on the lips, her arms slipping comfortably to her waist and pulling her in.[/color]

"The streets are crowded due to some fight that escalated and is being broadcast live as a duel," Cecilia sniffed. "May as well just walk a few laps down the streets or go home," she said, looking a little downcast at something. Even though she now had the perfect way to entice a future duel from the injured boy, she expected it would be an hour or so before he even noticed the card was gone, and she didn't expect him to come seeking it. Of course, she could always ask one of her...colleagues...to figure out who the card's owner was. After all, the card seemed unique and exceptionally powerful.

It didn't take Akarui long, but he was finally back at the crash site, he limped down to the pole where Jack posted the paper. He read it and laughed "Very funny, all this over one Duel Runner accident? Once I'm healed I'll show you what a REAL mechanic can do, I built my Duel Runner from scratch, and it runs like a dream." Akarui explained as he began to limp away, chuckling. He was still in pain, but he managed to scrape by. He knew well where his Duel Runner would be.... injured or not, he would get it back.

Seiyu drew his card, [color=blue]Now I'll play my Fairy Meteor Force, next I'll have my Silent sword Student attack your Gladiator Beast Hoplomus, and while my Spell is active I'll be doing piercing damage with this attack so it may only be 500 points of damage but it should still hurt you.[/color] Seiyu knew that Vicky would have a trap up her sleeve and he'd need to wait to see what it is before he goes for any move that are to big. This would be the last turn that her Discord would be active so starting from next turn his deck would be back in full swing.

[color=gray]Jack mulled that thought over for under a second, [u]Well, my apartment isn't too far from here if you wanna get a cup of coffee or something before you head home.[/u] Jack offered with a shrug, [u]Or else if you're not feel 100% after your falls, sorry again, by the way, then I can just walk you back to your place if you want.[/u] The mute giant typed out, [u]It's completely up to you, pipsqueak.[/u] He reminded her, looking up at sky, a slight, barely noticeable smile touching his features as he awaited Cecilia's answer.[/color]

Cecilia frowned to herself thoughtfully. "Nah, I can probably start heading home and get some rest," she said, pointing her hand in the opposite direction. "It's that-a-way, though. I don't need to be escorted home, though," she said seriously. "Much as I appreciate the offer, and I'm sure you're too chivalrous to accept my answer, I don't actually need an escort." She flexed an unimpressive muscle and giggled. "I can take care of myself. Safe city and all that."

She did a sort of salute with one hand. "But it was nice hanging out, yes?"

Surprisingly, the attack goes through! Vicky loses 500 Life Points, and Hoplomus is shattered into several pieces. (Vicky: 4000 LP -> 3500 LP)

Vicky saw out of the corner of her eyes an out-of-control Duel Runner, and she charged at Seiyu, tackling him just as he was about to be run over.

Itsu careened through the glass window, through a duel, and into a fountain.

Rei enjoyed the kiss, and hugged Ruby back.

All Seiyu saw was that after he had taken out Vicky's monster is that she ran at him and tackled him. it was a second later that he saw that a Duel Runner had run right into were he was standing and that she had saved his life. [color=blue]I'm kinda in shock right now but we really need to call an ambulance cuz if we don't I'm pretty sure she's going to die.[/color] Seiyu deactivated his duel disk as he was calling for the ambulance, he still hadn't gotten out from under Vicky do to the shock but people that saw them would think it was something else.

[color=gray]Jack chuckled and typed out another message, [u]You're right.[/u] He told the tiny Duelist, [u]I am WAY to chivalrous to listen to you. Even if it is a "safe city and all that" it's just not gentlemanly to let you walk home alone. Especially given your... questionable balance today. What if you trip and hit your head? I'd feel terrible for like a month.[/u][/color]

[color=red]Ruby smiled as Rei's arms went around her and she slowly pulled away from the kiss, "Now do you remember, my dear?" She asked, looking into Rei's eyes as they held each other, "This is where we had our first kiss. This is where I had my first kiss ever, actually." She blushed, the red standing out prominently against her blue hair, "I don't think I've ever told you that before now."[/color]

Cecilia gave a dramatic, over-the-top sigh. "Fine, then hold my hand and help me cross the street," she said in a mock-childish voice. She quickly pulled her hands away from him. "I'm kidding, don't do that. Fine, come this way, then." She strode off in the direction that she had designated before, weaving in and out of the people bustling along the streets. [i]He is nearly impossible to get rid of. I can only wonder what would happen if he ever got a crush on someone and got rejected. He already fits the look of a Frankenstein monster,[/i] she thought to herself, giggling silently.

The day had been good, the results he had found for duelists were impressive, of course he knew that the information would only be useful if he could see more of the duels happening, and maybe entering in a few before the next day. "who knew simply trying to speak to people would prove to be such a chore....and the fact that everyone has been taking their own leaves throughout the city makes it difficult to spot the ones on father's list." he looked at the blade connected to his wrist watch, it showed a small hologram that allowed him to not only view the duelists he had chosen, but also the duelists he personally had seen on just this day, even if a lot of information was missing on some people.

He had also noticed it was getting late, if he was to have anymore data gathering in the day, it would have to be quick, though the sound of a crashing duel runner was a good start for him, and an oddball looking pair of a giant and a shorter girl down the street was another interesting sight.

Akarui had finally got his Duel Runner back, he was using one crutch to help him walk and one to pull the Duel Runner. He was only going about a foot a minute, his apartment was nearby, just around the corner..... and he was going uphill.... Akarui was also in pain. But he kept on going, he couldn't afford to stop. He could still duel, but he couldn't Turbo Duel for a while.... he kept on going, he thought about his missing card and how he was going to get it back.... during the tournament, or never? There was only one way to find out, but in the morning, he'd have to return to the hospital.....

Vicky slowly got up, and opened her eyes. Well, she tried to open her left eye, but it refused to open! In fact, searing pain was coming from where her left eye should be!
To Seiyu, Vicky had a large shard of glass embedded in her left eye, which she had received saving his life. Paramedics were already on the way.

Itsu pulled herself free from her Duel Runner as the strange man stepped in front of her, carrying a huge skeletal scythe.
[color=#A9A9A9]"Itsu Fudo, you have broken your Covenant with God by defying the 0th Commandment, the unwritten commandment that was so plainly obvious: Thou Shalt Not Defy Death! For this, I have chased you across time and space to give you what your blackened soul needs most!"[/color]
[color=#FF0000]"Grief counseling and therapy?"[/color] Itsu meekly asks.
[color=#A9A9A9]"DEATH!!!"[/color] The man proclaims as he raises his scythe.

Rei places her head on Ruby's chest. [color=#FF69B4]"I remember now. It was so wonderful."[/color]

Seiyu was in a state of panic, [color=blue]Its okay Vicky calm down.[/color] Seiyu looked up to the woman who had crashed as she was conversing with the man, he was confused when the man with a scythe called her Itsu Fudo, from what he knew, the only family he had was his mother and farther and they had vanished long ago, so who was this person calling herself Itsu Fudo. But those thoughts were only there for a moment as he looked back to Vicky checking to see if she had any other injuries and watched for the ambulance as he was getting up, he also kept an eye on the other group by them to see if either of them going to do something to harm Vicky.

The Tao King had tracked down Rei. He, for some reason so obviously due to the god of Yin's influence, didn't hide, and instead walked in and said, "Hi!" It sounded really stupid coming from a guy in obviously-evil clothes. He had a mental battle in himself, but the god of Yin's influence was always too strong and as he tried to do anything, he could only do it one thing and kept on falling. He looked stupid. He then got back up each time. After the fifth time, he sighed, and looked at Rei and that second girl....Rudy? Whatever. "I absorbed the god of Yin. It was[i]n't[/i] a good idea." He struggled to say the 'n't', for it was black, but it was short enough to squeeze through the god of Yin's influence. He then realized that Rei and Ruby could obviously not recognize him due to his mask and all, and was really angry with the god of Yin. Her influence was too much for him to handle. This had to be quick. He needed negativity. He couldn't be stuck in this trance just like that.

The boat that was to take the duelists to their destination had arrived in the harbor and duelists were lining up to enter the the boat, Seiyu had gotten onto the boat already by presenting his Star Shadow Dragon which was one of the cards that would allow someone without an invitation to enter the tournament. His duel runner was stored in the boat along with the the others. Many duelists had gathered but most were being turned away for having fake invitations or getting scared before the intense competition.

Akarui was now healed, it would have taken months for him to heal.... if it wasn't for surgery. He was on his way to the boat. He was on his repaired Duel Runner. He stopped on the boat. He noticed a separate boat for Duel Runners. He first put his runner there. And boarded the other boat, he locked his Duel Runner down by removing his Duel Disk. He still had to retrieve his card. He couldn't STAND another moment with someone else having HIS card. His body trembled with anger, not knowing what he'd do when he got his hands on the person that took his card.

Cecilia lounged on deck, stretched out idly and looking over at the water. Her fingers twitched with excitement, anticipating the arrival at the island. She had received an invitation as her instructions required her to be present, and she had changed her outfit to her usual, the sunglasses she wore presently over her eyes. She had also swapped out her Duel Disk for her green-light version, preferring the less bulky model and greater freedom for her monster card zones.

But for now she was bored, with nothing really to do and nothing to take her mind off the boat trip but the water itself.
