"Previously on 'Life'," Cecilia recited cheerfully. "The kids were hotheaded and arrogant, with violent tendencies, but nevertheless accepted a duel," she said, addressing no one in particular, but looking at Jack. "We then moved to the park area because there's more room and avoids disturbing the peace of the cafe! Unless you prefer to face one of them one-on-one for simplicity's sake, it'll be a tag duel."

The raven haired girl smirked and adjusted the Duel Disk on her arm. "Of course, deciding the order and rules of a tag duel can get ever so complicated," she mused. She cast a look at Jack. "So maybe one on one is easier?"

((Recteik, fair warning. I hate you now. You're too big of a noob to realize that controlling other peoples' characters are against the rules, I can't believe that ANYONE has to be explained that rule anymore.))

[color=gray]Jack thought that over for a few seconds and nodded in agreement, typing out a message on his screen, [u]That would be best, I think.[/u] He agreed, [u]We don't know how well our Decks work together, after all. If you have a Clear Deck or focus on locking down Spells, I would be at a major disadvantage for the whole Duel.[/u] He looked at the two kids that they were going to Duel, [u]So, how are we going to decide this?[/u] He asked, [u]Coin flip? Rock paper scissors? Or should we just take the opponent directly across from us?[/u][/color]

Cecilia giggled. "It doesn't really matter. I'd say just face the one in front of you. The other shouldn't care so long as he has an opponent, and I couldn't care less which one I face." She readied her Disk and eyed the kid in front of her, brushing a lock of her raven hair out of her face. "I do hope you're ready," she said, activating said Disk and sliding her deck into the deck slot, which shuffled the cards.

"I operate on the principle of 'ladies first'," she said cutely, and drew her starting hand. "If you want to back out after Turn 1, I'll understand!" she looked at the cards in her hand and she grinned. "My turn!"

LP: 4000

"I summon Card Trooper!" she said, plucking one card from her hand and placing it on the field. A circle of light formed, and a small red robot appeared. (Lvl 3, 400/400) "I activate Trooper's effect! Once per turn, I can send up to 3 cards from the top of my deck to the Graveyard, and for every card I send, Trooper gets 500 ATK until the end of the turn!"

She slid 3 cards from her deck, glanced at them, shrugged and slid them into her graveyard. But anyone looking closely would have seen the near-insane glint of glee in her eye. (ATK: 1900) "I set 3 cards and end my turn!" she finished. Card Trooper's glowing aura faded and the boost it gained disappeared. (ATK: 400)

[color=gray][i]I thought she said she didn't use those cutesy little Monsters.[/i] Jack thought with a smirk, [i]Wait til she gets a load of my Deck though, that might surprise her.[/i] He drew six cards after his opponent let him take the first turn, [i]Masked Hero Rekka in Attack Position, two cards face down.[/i] The mute thought as his Hero appeared on the field and two face-down cards came into being behind it before fading away again. He typed a quick message out on his screen, [u]I end my turn.[/u] It read simply after displaying Masked Hero Rekka's stats and lack of effect.[/color]

Cecilia became more energized and gleeful as her opponent took his turn, going so far as to yawn and snicker when he soon summoned a Dark Synchro to combat the strange blue machine bird-dragon thing she had brought out on a recent turn. "Is that all you've got?" she demanded, grinning widely. "Then I'll wrap this up with Machine Emperor Skiel's effect! Once per turn, I absorb a Synchro or Dark Synchro monster, and its ATK is added to my monster!"

She giggled hysterically as her opponent could only watch in stunned bemusement as her monster's ATK rose to around 5000, his own monster disappearing into her machine's body. "Machine Emperor Skiel, direct attack!" she crowed, pointing her finger forward. The laser cannon based at the bottom of her monster's body launched a burst of energy, striking the other duelist and swiftly dropping his LP to 0.

Cecilia giggled and made a 'thumbs up' gesture and winked. "Ooh, that was fun!" she said, deactivating her disk and turning to see if Jack had done similarly well.

Vicky stopped him. [color=#800080]"Not yet. I'm sure you have 5 minutes to duel me and my Gladiator Beasts."[/color] She had drawn her Duel Disk, and she was ready to duel.

Meanwhile, aboard a spaceship made of scrap, a woman in her mid-twenties had assembled her crew. The woman had blonde hair, hazel eyes, a green tank top, military fatigues, brown welding gloves, and black welding goggles. Her crew consisted of a redhead with golden eyes and a strange cybergirl-like uniform and a blue-haired girl with a frilly fusion of the Central and North Academies.
"Alright, crew! As you know, Rei here has been graciously providing our ship with tons of huon energy, but her ,recent fit of hiccups overloaded the retro-encabulator, the key component connecting the time rotor to the dematerialization circuit so we need to find the parts needed to build a new one. I'm working on a list of acceptable replacement parts s we speak. Any questions?"

[color=gray]Jack was finishing his Duel at about the same time Cecilia finished hers. [i]Mask Change Second, Releasing my Masked Hero Fountain to Transfromation Summon Masked Hero Acid.[/i] Jack thought, doing just that, [i]Then, Mask Change Activates, Transforming Masked Hero Rekka into Masked Hero Goka. Acid's effect destroys all his Spell and Trap Cards and weakens his Monsters, Goka's effect increases his ATK.[/i] Acid proceeded to snipe all of Jack's opponent's face-down cards, as well as Call of the Haunted, which was all that kept one of his Monsters on the field, though he was still staring down Berserk Dragon [i]Double Attack (Attack Union) targeting Goka and Acid. His Life Points drop to 1000. Gust attacks directly. 0 Life Points left.[/i][/color]

"Enjoy yourself?" Cecilia asked, smirking and crossing her arms. "Not a bad finish, and you have an interesting deck," she noted, although in truth she had only seen the last few cards of his move, and had no idea what his deck actually did. "They didn't have the talent to back up their brash arrogance," she continued with a giggle.

She cocked her head to the side. "And now that that's taken care of, what do you say we should do now?" As she spoke, she stretched her arms lazily, and gazed around the park for a few moments, refocusing on Jack.

[color=gray]Jack laughed and smiled at Cecilia, [u]It wasn't all that difficult, but it did give my Heroes ample opportunity to shine and crush his cards, and it's always fun when your Deck can cut loose and just go ape sh*t on somebody, right?[/u] He asked, looking up at the sky [u]Apparently I was wrong about the rain though.[/u] He typed out, [u]So I guess we can just find someplace to sit and relax until someone else challenges you to a Duel. I'd really love to see that Dragon/bird/machine thing that you Summoned in action again. Skeel, right?[/u][/color]

Jenny facepalmed. "Huon energy is derived from huon particles, special offshoots of hydrogen that have existed since the beginning of the universe. This ship runs off of these particles, which Rei can generate, essentially making her our power source. However, the retro-encabulator is the device that allows us to move fluidly between universes." Jenny pulls out a whiteboard and some markers, making a crude sketch of Itsu. "You see, our mutual friend Itsu Solace can only travel from one universe to the next, always having to make singular jumps, which take relative eons." She illustarated this by drawing several circles, and arrows connecting the circles in a path. However, the retro-encabulator lets us make one continuous jump, cutting down the time exponentially. Without that part, we will be stuck making singular jumps, and taking WAY too long to get wherever we need to go!" She drew this by making a crude sketch of the ship, and one continuous line through the circles. "Any other questions?"

[i]Wow, he actually writes with asterisks when he curses,[/i] Cecilia thought with a quiet chuckle. She looked up instinctively and let out a mixture of a whine and a giggle at the prospect of no rain. She cast a quick look at the rest of the message. "Sounds fine to me," she agreed, spotting a park bench a short distance away. She glanced at him briefly and giggled. "Oh, you liked Skiel?" she asked, with a faint smirk. "It's I-E-L, just for the record. It's my main monster, really."

She started heading towards the bench. "Although, if you're that anxious to see it again, you could always be the challenger. Or is it the anxiety spawned from awe and admiration, not being on the receiving end?"

[color=red]"Yes, but if I ask them, my brain's going to explode, so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut and nod along like I get this crap." Ruby told her with a sigh. Despite the fact that she considered Jenny and Itsu to be her sisters, and Rei significantly more, a part of her didn't like being around them when they were all together. They always made her feel stupid for not knowing anything about dimension hopping, despite the fact that she herself has been in at least four different universes, albeit against her will. She sighed again and mentally chastised herself for even bringing up her ignorance.[/color]

[color=gray][u]I think I could take him.[/u] Jack told Cecilia, smirking, [u]You said his effect involves Synchros and Dark Synchros, right? Well, as it so happens, I don't have any of them in my Deck. They're much too overused now anyway. Sure, they were a bit of a novelty once upon a time, but now that EVERYONE uses them, really, what's the point? Don't get me wrong, I have considered adding Colossal Fighter and a Tuner or two to my Deck, just in case, but I still don't see what's so special about them.[/u][/color]

Jenny finally handed the list to Rei. "You two take care, and try to find the items! I will go and look for a place to land this big lug!" She pressed a button, and the floor opened up beneath the duo, who fell a few feet to the street below. The [i]Awful Lot of Running[/i], which was cloaked, had been hovering above a street the whole time, and it silently slinked off into the sky.
Rei had been studying the list. [color=#FF69B4]"Hmm...according to this, most of these parts can be found in a Duel Runner."[/color]

Cecilia snickered. "While Skiel is an anti-Synchro card, a Synchro-kiler if you will, that's not the only way to make it a formidable monster. Not everyone runs Synchros. Some run Fusions, some run plain beatsticks, and so on. If my deck fell apart because my opponent doesn't summon a Synchro monster, it would hardly be a good deck," she explained. She considered his other, albeit rhetorical question for several seconds.

"Synchro monsters allow most players to use weaker, easily summoned monsters to create another, stronger monster with a good effect. With Synchros in the game, you don't need to invest in as many Normal Summons and Tributes to get big monsters. They make the game faster and more flexible in card choice," she said with a shrug. "It's the Dark Synchros I don't like the most. It's the same concept, but deliberately overpowered."

Seiyu smilled, [color=blue]Sure I can duel, I really want to see what my deck and me can do.[/color] He put his cards back into his duel disk and it auto shuffled them, [color=blue]Do you wanna go first or second, I don't mind going either so I'll let you pick.[/color] Seiyu knew how good of a duelist Vicky was and was nervous about her move, against her she could win in just one turn.

[U]For now, let's just relax, enjoy the weather, and bask in the knowledge that we beat the living Hell out of those pricks from the coffee shop.[/u] Just thinking about the victory made him smile a little more, [u]So, what did your guy use anyway? I didn't really get a decent look since I was fairly focused on staving off the Zombie apocalypse. God, I've never seen one Duelist swarm so often. They just wouldn't stop coming. It was mildly infuriating, I'm not gonna lie.[/u][/color]

Cecilia smirked. "Good enough for me," she said, sitting down and stretching lazily, keeping her Duel Disk in plain view in case anyone had the idea to challenge the short girl. "Him? Oh, he used some sort of low ATK engine to get a Dark Synchro out real fast," she said. "Things like Damage Condenser and other quick summoning cards. I think he was trying to overwhelm me," she giggled, recalling the aggressive tactics.

"Hit a brick wall against my main monster, though," she added.

[color=gray][u]He probably figured someone that looks like you wouldn't put up too much of a threat.[/u] Jack typed out, [u]I'm more than a little surprised myself to see you pull out that Skiel thing. After I saw you pull out Card Trooper on your first turn, I was worried I befriended a girl that thought cute Monsters were more important than effective Monsters... and then your dragon-pterodactyl-bird amalgamation showed up and threw me for a loop.[/u] The mute typed out, stretching his fingers and cracking his knuckles when he was done, [u]It's been a while since I've talked... typed this much.[/u] He explained.[/color]

"That's what you get for doubting me," Cecilia giggled. "Card Trooper was for a setup play, plus it's a reliable monster in a pinch," she explained. "You probably just missed the move. You should have seen his face when I made it, too." She snickered gleefully, but didn't elaborate. "Then maybe you should give your fingers a quick break," she suggested, amused.

"I assume you being so sociable is a good thing," she continued, once again looking around the park area before refocusing. She was already starting to feel a familiar restlessness just sitting. The relaxation was great but sometimes her mood didn't want her to sit around.

[color=gray]Jack chuckled his odd silent laugh and typed on his screen [u]But if I do that, how are we going to communicate? I don't suppose you know sign language, and you can't lip read, so what else is there?[/u] He asked, noticing that Cecilia was getting a little fidgety, [u]Did I bore you already?[/u] He asked with a smile, [u]If you want to go for another walk again, all you have to do is say the word.[/u] He told the girl, looking around the park before finally focusing on her again. Despite his jokes, he somehow just knew that this short little pipsqueak was a lot more powerful than she looked. Probably even stronger than he was.[/color]

"Good point," Cecilia giggled. "No, not bored. Just restless. I get that way sometimes," she explained casually. She looked around them briefly before answering, "Park seems to have emptied out a little, so another walk would be just fine." As she finished her sentence, she stood up and adjusted her bag over her shoulder. "There's got to be something exciting going on somewhere, and maybe we're just missing it."

With that, she twirled around like a compass and pitched her hand forward. "That-a way!" Without waiting for confirmation, she started marching in that direction.

[color=gray]Jack looked somewhat surprised at Cecilia's apparent radar sense but shrugged and decided to just go along with it. The mute stood up, checked that his Duel Gun was still in its holster and that his Deck was still locked in place, and walked next to Cecilia, though he easily passed her since he had a longer stride than she did. [u]Hurry up, pipsqueak.[/u] He typed out, [u]Where are we headed?[/u] The mute Duelist asked, chuckling and turning around, walking backwards but still easily outpacing the tiny Machine Empress.[/color]
