Moon -Kana-

Well most people who listen to Japanese music have probably heard about her, or you heard a song like Hebi Ichigo and don't know who it is. Well I got to hear Moon -Kana- around 4 or 5 years ago and from the first time, I knew instantly which songs I'm going to like and which songs just sound plain retarded or horrible or crappy to me.

The main problem with her is that on every album there is 1 or 2 really catchy and good songs and the rest is...well crap. I know what she's trying to do, she's trying to get a distorted kind of singing style without synth distortion, but doing something different...doesn't equal doing something well all the time. And there are some things that really make most people's ears shriek, especially where the thin line between "cute" and "retarded" gets off.

[u]So I took a very songs out that I really really like and where the vocals don't sound all too bad. In fact I love these songs and I've been listening to it a lot lately ^^ (yeah I have my phases).[/u]

Overall...it's quite annoying sometimes when I have to burn CD's myself and literally hand-pick the songs inbetween out, like I'm doing right now, and then there's the rest where she's either forcing it (it's an art to sound off on purpose and yet sound good. And many times it goes the wrong way), where she's sounding like a whiny little baby or where she's doing I-don't-know-what with the horrible retarded tirorin~ crap.

But nonetheless I still love it when she goes into Industrial Girl Rock, luckily the last album is mostly like that. In fact I noticed that she sounds way better for my ears when she uses her medium-range, [b]slightly[/b] distorted kind of vocals rather than the supposedly cute ones. Oh and incase you were wondering, a lot of the more Rock-like instrumention isn't from her, she only wrote lyrics at the beginning. But at least I got my CD done now.
