Sub-Type vs. extra type

If I were to f. eks. make Pokemon as yugioh cards and I would have to have something that linked them together (for use of card effect). Should I create a Sub-Type so it would say f.eks. Beast/Pokemon (and would that mean that they ALL have to have effects) or should I add an additional type so it would say Beast/Pokemon/Effect?

I used "Type / Pokemon / Effect" for PKEV fit nicely on the card too.
