The rain, under normal circumstances, would be gentle, providing Seto's face with soft kisses that would have been cool and refreshing otherwise. However, the remnants of salt and grit, coupled with cuts and scrapes from fighting made the rain a stinging oppressor. His hair usually held some form of volume, but it was currently limp and dead. The droplets of blood coming down from its ends made it seem like it was simply the hair that was bleeding, and not Seto himself.

"What...happened?" He asked himself. It hadn't even been a year since Mokuba had been trampled by a rioting mob rebelling against this very thing. "Who was controlling them?" He asked himself.

Before him lay the remains of a Red-Eyes Black Dragon; A Real Red-Eyes....Wasn't that impossible? Wasn't all of this nonsense supposed to be impossible? At the same time, the power coursing through his veins was just as exciting as this whole ordeal was terrifying. He'd never moved that fast before. He'd never felt that strong before. Dueling with cards was one thing, but he fought man-to-dragon with a Red-Eyes Black Dragon!

He went back inside to the Television that wasn't broken from the dragon's assault, and turned it to the news. The Live news channel, News at Noon.

"...Well Cheryl, Traffic on Gardna Street seems to be ever-increasing since the construction of the new water-park," The helicopter's reporter spoke. It seemed like a normal day.

It has to be my imagination...tell me its my imagination...NO! That moment, Seto's mind raged against his sanity as a Water Dragon burst forth from the water park, unleashing a lethal torrent of water comparable to a tidal wave, crushing and tossing cars like toys. NO! The shock wave from the dragon's emergence shook the helicopter. The reporters only had time to exclaim their shock before a blast of pressurized water cut off their transmission.

"Oh my g-...Ron? Ron?!" The reporter screamed. Moments later, the station went off-air as someone flipped the switch.

"Can this really be happening around the entire city?" Seto asked himself again. As if to answer his question, he heard the roar of monsters and bizarre, unfathomable sounds erupt outside. He rushed to the window to observe what seemed like a legion of Duel Monsters coming for his home. No...they weren't coming for his home; they were coming for him!

If duel monsters were the weapons, he had plenty of those. He just had to make it to his suitcase in the back room before the monsters made it to him. He was still weak from fighting that Red-Eyes, so he had to be careful. He couldn't handle a fight against most of those monsters out there. He felt like he could still move, despite the pain. It was only a few more rooms and hallways away. Not far at all for a sprinting man. But It seemed like Strike Ninja was faster than Seto Kiba. He felt the air around him scream in pain as the monster rushed past him and blocked his path.

"I'm not going to let you stop me!" He growled at the monster. He didn't have a chance at defeating the monster, but he couldn't give up. If he gave up, he wouldn't be able to solve this mystery. He couldn't forgive himself for this, these monsters, something he promoted so avidly, were the reason for Mokuba's death. These monsters, now living, breathing, and moving on their on seemingly, had to be put back in their place.

"Seto Kiba..." The Ninja spoke, giving Seto Pause. "We've come for your head, as it will make a valuable trophy for the spirit world." A deep, haunting voice.

"That won't happen." He felt monsters gathering around his home, getting ready for the signal to make the assault and end him.

"You've no way out, Seto Kiba. Certainly, this is your end!" As Strike Ninja spoke his parting, he burst forth like black lightning.

Only fractions of seconds separated Seto Kiba from the blade of Strike Ninja. Only fractions of seconds remained for Kiba to ponder the reasons for this chaos, and Mokuba's death. Less than one painful second; it was all Kiba had.

No! A feminine voice cried out at the same time Kiba did. He knew that it was the same voice that echoed in his head when the Red-Eyes attacked his home. It was his Blue-Eyes White Dragon crying out in rebellion. In an instant, everything was consumed in a blinding light. Strike Ninja's black lightning was consumed by Kiba's White Lightning. The legion was flattened instantly.

"What..." He couldn't finish his words. He didn't want to ask what was happening anymore. He wanted to stop asking, and start taking the answers for himself. The only person who would know anything was Pegasus. He was annoying enough on his own, and probably the cause behind all of this. Seto would have to pay him a visit....

Nearly twenty years later, Seto Kiba, Maximilian Pegasus, and several business men founded the first official Duelist Federation--The freedom fighters of humanity. The lived underground in Duelist Kingdom, Pegasus's private island he'd originally planed to be a dueling resort before the chaos broke out. The castle was home to Freed, The Matchless General, who sent out hunting parties to find the underground hideout.

With the resistance was a handful of people that managed to find leave from the mainland for whatever reason once the announcement was made among the people that an army was building. Unless they could defeat Freed, and escape the Island and establish a base on the mainland, Humanity's Only hope would become the last. The first battle in a ong string to come would begin here, in duelist kingdom.

Among those underground survivors was an orphaned teenager named Dylan. He had been fighting with the Duelist Federation for a few years now, but was recently ambushed by a Marauding Captain, and escaped with only his life and a handful of his cards. He was still feeling the guilt today, and wouldn't talk to anyone save his closest friends and his Duel Spirit, Delta Flyer. He had spent his days since then sulking in his room, occasionally coming out to eat or answer nature's call before heading back.

Delta Flyer was yet again attempting to get Dylan moving again. "Come on! So you lost some of your cards in an ambush. It could happen to anyone!"

His only response from beneath the flipped-up hoodie was a soft grunt.

"Let's just go up and ask Pegasus or someone for some new ones! I mean, how hard could it possibly be?"

Grunt.

"Geez... At least you're not being silent. Look, let's just go up to Pegasus, explain what happened, and ask to get new cards. I'll walk you through it, and I can be here for emotional support!"

This time he received an outburst. "I don't need emotional support! What I need is to get my old cards back! I mean, who knows what Freed is even doing with them?!"

"Well... If it's any consolation, I heard Qing recently lost his cards."

"So what? He goes through cards more quickly then anyone else here! Just... leave me alone, okay?"

Delta Flyer sighed. "Fine, but you're talking to someone during breakfast tomorrow." He then faded out, leaving Dylan alone in his room.

In a small chamber, tucked away beneath the rest of the Duelist Federation, sat Zeke. Piles of junk were sprawled around the room, and in his hands was what could be called a primitive stove, as he fished through a large backpack.

"So, you finally finished the stove design?" called out a voice. "About time!"

A figure appeared before Zeke. It was just GC, he thought, sighing with relief.

"Well, we should have it ready by tomorrow." said Zeke.

"'We'? I thought you wanted me to hit the road!"

Zeke sighed. "Sorry... I've been in a different mood lately."

"I'll say." muttered Genex Controller. "It's the first time this week you actually spoke in complete sentences."

Zeke started to object, when a knock was heard on the door.

Of the various gyms and training areas in and around the base of Seto Kaiba's Dragons, some often had people in them, whilst others were almost always empty. It was in one of the latter that a young woman could be found, kicking a punching bag into submission. The girl seemed to be slightly annoyed about something, and so the green-haired figure floating on the far side of the bag, steadying it, decided to stay out of range of her kicks.
The woman eventually ceased her violence against the bag and sat on a bench, where a towel and bottle of water were waiting for her. She leaned back against the wall and swallowed some of the water, as her partner, a slim-looking male, decided to join her.
"That was impressive," he told her, "it really feels as if you're getting your strength back."
"It's still not enough though," she replied, "I need more power to stop these monsters." And to catch up to Seto.
"Maybe you should have stayed with the silver wings," he pointed out, "they have all sorts of tricks, so they don't need power."
"I don't like those tricks, they feel underhanded," she criticised, "besides, you can talk, you don't even do anything."
"As I told you, I cannot remember anything. Maybe if I speak to Pegasus..."
"Well if I see him, I'll ask him," she cut him off, standing up, "now, back to training."

"Well, that was pointless..."

The feminine voice came from Caroline Netcher, who was walking down the halls of the underground hideout, having recently returned from a scouting run. It was a rather eventless run, which frustrated Caroline, since it didn't seem like she was doing much of anything.

"What do you mean, pointless?" Another voice asked. Next to Caroline, Element Valkyrie phased into existence, walking with Caroline. In the air - her feet never touched the ground. After all, she is a duel spirit.

"I mean, we haven't been able to thin the enemy's numbers at all..." Caroline replied, moving one of the bangs from her black hair back over her ear.

"Well..." Valkyrie began, before Caroline interrupted her.

"Yeah, yeah, I know what you're going to say." she said. Sighing she opened the door to her room and entered. It was a a small area; probably used to be a storage room or something. At least she had a room to herself with a bed and some place to store her stuff. "But what I wouldn't give to do something awesome, like find the lost Blue-Eyes White Dragon, or help free this island, or something."

"You are helping, you know."

"But this is... nothing! Nothing at all. I could be doing more..."

"But it's dangerous out there," Valkyrie replied, the concern obvious in her voice.

"I know that!" Caroline shot back. "But someone has to do it, right?"

"Someone has to be the hero, you mean?" Valkyrie said, sarcastically.

"Of course." Caroline replied, not picking up on Valkyrie's meaning. She sat down on her bed and stared at the pile of books that were in the corner. "But right now, I have to lower that stack." she said, picking up one of the books and going through it. They all seem well-worn, but Caroline enjoyed them, anyway.

"You need to stop reading those storybooks, you're becoming delusional," Valkyrie said.

Caroline just shook her head and kept reading. She had time before she had to report, anyway.

"I still don't understand why you insist on drinking water from that champagne glass..." Seto grumbled at Pegasus.

"Because, Kiba-boy, it reminds me of the days that it was full of something more eloquent." He mused to himself, looking sharply at the castle that used to be his. "I had to abandon my fortress to live, while you had to destroy yours, correct? All the beautiful luxuries of life we used to know are gone because of some dark force that I can only begin to understand."

"It still doesn't make sense. You don't get nearly as much water when you drink from that..." Seto grumbled. He couldn't stand this guy, but he had the know-how to put behind Seto's muscle.

"But I Do get much more satisfaction...Mmmhmmhmm" Pegasus chuckled to himself. "Who's free right now? I'm thinking we'll see if one of the old maintenance stations are free for the taking. The might have something useful in them. If we're lucky, the electronic maps will still work. We might even be able to fetch ourselves a computer or two...."

"I like that idea...but we only have a handful of free operatives. I'm not willing to kill off loyal soldiers on a whim." Seto grumbled. He was in a bad mood. He always was around Pegasus.

"A general must be willing to put everything, especially himself, on the line for the sake of victory." Pegasus retorted, cut off by Kiba, who didn't skip a beat.

"I don't toy with people's lives, Pegasus!" Seto slammed his hand on the table that held the map they were looking over while glaring up at the impassive man.

"Says the boy who used to run a multi-billion dollar corporation? Hmhmmhmm" Pegasus found the irony amusing. He would love to keep pushing Kiba's button's like this, but they didn't have that simple luxury called "Free time". "Lift your hand and look at that coast line, hmm? Just along that northern ridge is a path that leads to the old station we shut down because we simply did not need it. Everything was still operational, after all, my Kingdom is still fairly young."

Seto complied and looked at the area. "It's fairly out of the way. Why would anything be there?"

"Exactly. No reason for duel monsters to go where nothing is, right?"

"I think I see where you're going with this now. You're just looking to pick up scraps. What makes you think the enemy hasn't done that already?" Seto crossed his arms.

"Because the enemy don't know what a computer is. They don't have use for them, and no one to train them in their use. It their world, the monsters themselves, Machine type monsters, are the computers. It's why we were able to escape, yes?" Pegasus provoked a flash back....

_______________________________________________________________________________

"Pegasus! I'm coming for you!" Seto raged into the video phone at him as he appeared.

"Good! I could use a bit of help." Pegasus sounded stressed for once.

"Wait...those monsters are attacking you too?" Seto was shocked. It wasn't Pegasus's doing at all.

"I can hear your chopper over the phone. Get to the far side of my mansion, to the west."

"Idiot! Don't say that on an open channel! They'll know I'm coming now!" Seto growled.

"Silly Kiba-boy. Monsters don't even have the fingers to use most of the technolo-" An explosion that looked like it knocked Pegasus off his feet cut off their transmission.

Luckily, by the time Kiba got there, Pegasus was merely bruised. He had several monsters waiting next to him, standing idle. Kiba wasn't too shocked, he had a Y-Dragon Head acting as his chopper's escort. He'd discovered how to summon monsters while fighting his way to his helicopter. It looked like Pegasus's place was the site for a major battle.

"-As I was saying," Pegasus started from where the transmission cut off. What a vain idiot. "The Duel Monsters don't have the need for technology like ours, let alone physiology to use it most of the time."

____________________________________________________________________________

"Fine. If it wont be hard, then I think you already have some people you can send." Seto sighed.

"An old acquaintance or two, and we'll scrape up some federation raffle to add some muscle." Pegasus thought aloud.

_____________________________________________________________________________

A Knock came to Dylan's door. "Pegasus and Kiba want to see you in the main office. Bring your cards." A gruff voice, the voice of one of Kiba's officers, came through. Without any more words, the presence seemed to walk on.
_____________________________________________________________________________

A short time later, the same figure came to Zeke's door, delivering the same message after a knock.

_____________________________________________________________________________

"Is anyone in there?" The voice of one of Pegasus's men echoed outside Caroline's room. "Master Pegasus requires your assistance on a job. Meet in the main office, if you would please."

____________________________________________________________________________

The final stop was the stop one couldn't leave with a simple knock, and the most out of the way.

"Well, well, well..." A Duelist from the Shadow Tamer's group said in an annoying voice behind the woman tiring herself out. "You know no matter how hard you punch, you're never going to get stronger. No matter how many times a monster battles, or how many times it uses its effect, the numbers and power don't change." He snickered at Minami.

"Go figure. I finally make some progress, and they call for me as cannon fodder." Zeke slumped down into a cot. "Really, this stove would've used a quarter of the energy! We don't have much left! And now I'm sent out to fight! GRAAAAH!"
"I don't think you even have any cards." replied Genex Controller. "How could you fight anyway?"
""They'll probably give me some rookie-level cards, and then kick me out. They'll ignore the fact that, no, I'll do more good staying behind."
But maybe you should fight.
"Huh? Did... you hear that, GC?"
Genex Controller rolls his eyes. "You could just pretend you're crazy, too, I guess. They'll keep you away from everyone. That's what you'd want... you are pretty shy."
No guts, no glory. Listen, do you really want to lay around, playing with junk? Or do you want to make a difference? Why else eould you join the Duelist Federation?
"Uh... Maybe I am going nuts. Perhaps meeting some new people would be a good thing." Zeke got up. "Let's go pack up."
Zeke looked around his room. In a corner was a lantern, along with his stove prototype. Scrap metal was bunched into piles all over the floor. A dresser sat next to Zeke's cot.
Zeke sighed, and opened a drawer of the dresser. He pulled out a very small package.
"Yay! We're leaving this hole of a home!" Genex Controller jumped around in glee. "I'm tired of just sitting here, watching you! Now, something will actually HAPPEN around here!"
Zeke smirked. GC could leave any time he wanted to, but he always hung around, acting as if he left, the world would end.
Who said it wouldn't?
Zeke suddenly felt afraid. He took the package, some clothes, Genex Controller, and a few trinkets from the junk piles. He shoved the mess into his backpack, and heaved it onto his shoulders.
"What's in the package?" asked Genex Controller, popping out of the backpack.
"A couple Monster Reborns, is all. Let's go."

"A job?!"

Caroline shot up and quickly began collecting her things, leaving the book opened face-down on the bed. It wasn't much, a few cards and some food and water was really all she had. Stuffing it into her pack, she slung it over her shoulders and left the room.

"You're excited..." Valkyrie said flatly.

"Of course. This time it's a mission directly from the top!" Caroline said, her grin visible to all that saw her.

"Which means it's dangerous," Valkyrie replied, sighing. "You might die."

"I won't die." Caroline replied. She began scrawling some notes on a sheet of paper and taped it to her room door. Element Valkyrie floated over and read it outloud.

" 'Sorry I'm not here dad and mom, Pegasus has a mission for me! Be back later!' " Valkyrie had to pause for a moment after saying that. "You know they'll be worried about you, right?"

Caroline shrugged as she began walking to her destination. "That just means I have to come back so they don't have to worry, right?"

Valkyrie shook her head as they walked along. While Caroline had good instincts and was careful, she always jumped at the chance to do dangerous missions. She'd usually end up burning through a lot of cards on missions like these (which is why she has so few currently), but always escaped with her life. Fortunately she was growing in skill rapidly. Unfortunately... Valkyrie fears the day when Caroline gets in over her head...

Minami turned to find she was no longer alone. Someone else was stood behind her, and seemed rather dismissive of her efforts to train her body. Something about battles not changing monster's stats. Effect Veiler moved closer to the girl, either cowering or hovering protectively behind her; it was hart to tell.
"Is that all you can think about?" she asked. "My training is not merely about being better in duels. Who are you anyway, and what are you doing here?" She looked at the figure with a suspicious eye. "Did you want something?"

Dylan sighed and spoke to himself. "If it's not one thing, it's another..." He stood up and flipped back his hood. He observed his room--a bed, a hinged storage box, and a small dresser were all that occupied it other than himself and Delta Flyer. He walked over to the box and opened it. Inside was an empty photo frame, a stack of fiction novels, and a small leather box. He picked this box up and unsnapped it to open. He stared sadly at the small assortment of cards in it, briefly flashing back to the ambush a few days ago.

As reality soaked back in, he closed the box and stowed it in his sweatshirt's pocket. "Well, some cards are at least better than none," he said to himself. Turning, he made his way to the door. As he opened it, he was greeted with a familiar face, attached to a person who was walking in the direction he was about to go. "Oh, hey Zeke."

The snide man clicked his tongue. "You're gonna die, plain and simple." Effect Veiler would see a Battle-Fader hovering nearby, seeming fairly...indifferent to everything happening. "Always worrying about you, you, you; You'll get killed before you even know who's doing it." He scoffed.

Before giving her time to retort, he continued. "Kiba wants to see you about some job. Same with Pegasus--Some sort of joint effort. Since they're sending junk like you out there, I'm guessing it wont be too dangerous, so maybe even you'll live through it." He cackled a bit. "Seriously, though...don't go getting yourself killed. Last thing we need is rookies giving them bodies to build a wall with." He turned on his heel and started to leave. It was hard to tell if he was trying to encourage her death, or scold her for it. Those Shadow tamers were always iffy like that, though....

Seto wants to see me? she wondered. "I'm sorry, rude person, but I have better people to speak to than you." She snatched up her towel and water and rushed from the gym, Effect Veiler barely being able to nod in greeting to the Battle Fader before hurrying along after the girl, who took almost no time in changing out of her training clothes and into some clean ones - in fact the moment the monster reached the door to her room, she emerged, straightening up her jacket. "What kept you?" she asked, heading off to meet her superiors, "we're going to end up being late."
"Then why did you stop to change?"
"I can't go and see Kaiba in my workout clothing," she protested, "besides, we may not have time to come back before we do whatever it is they want us to do, so I have to be ready to go."
"I guess so," he conceded, sighing internally as he followed the girl, who was walking very quickly down the corridor.

"Oh, hey Zeke."

The voice jolted Zeke out of his thoughts. The novelty of the fight had worn off while he was walking, and he was devising an argument to weasel out of the task. He recognized the voice, but only when he turned to see who was talking did he remember.

"D-Dylan!" Zeke sputtered. "Nice to see you!"

He took a deep breath. "Listen, I need some help. Kaiba and Pegasus want to send me on a mission... but I only have a couple Monster Reborns." He looked down a moment, in a contemplative manner, and then continued. "Could I borrow a few cards? Or, even better, could you help me get out of this job? You have been loyal for a few years, you might have a bit more power than I do."

He's talking way more than usual, thought Genex Controller. He's talked to Dylan before, but I didn't expect him to be so... chatty.

Dylan was confused. He knew Zeke somewhat well, and wasn't expecting a real response. He decided to just carry it on. "You were called on by them too? That's... quite the coincidence." He folded his hand into his hoodie pocket. "And about the cards, sorry, but no. I recently had most of them stolen from me, and I can't really spare any others right now."

Delta Flyer appeared again behind Dylan. He's socializing again? Must be because they're friends, he thought. He glanced questioningly at Genex Controller as Dylan continued.

"Anyway, if we were both called on, we may as well head up. I'm not relishing talking to them in person, but..." He sighed. "I guess it's part of being a soldier."

Zeke nodded his head, and started to head in the direction of Kaiba And Pegasus' main office.

Now that's the Zeke I know, thought Genex Controller. He snuck a glance at Delta Flyer. "So... does everyone have their own Duel Spirit nowadays?"

Zeke stopped and looked at Genex Controller. "Well... DF and you, GC, are the only ones I know of..."

Genex Controller looked back. "Why are you talking so much lately? nothing for a week, and now this..."

Zeke sighed. "I don't know. I have been in a weird mood for a while."

Genex Controller looked away. "Must be that thing that humans go through. What was it called? Uh... Q*berty? Sounds right..."

Zeke looked back at Dylan and rolled his eyes. He then started walking again.

The main office. The meeting room. The seat of power. Caroline had only been here once before to be given a mission, and while she was successful, she used up most of her cards, which her superiors were none too happy about. She was happy to be selected to go on another important mission, figuring that a hero gets stronger after every failure, and she's feeling quite strong.

Caroline knocked on the doors. "Caroline Netcher reporting!" she said. She wasn't really aware of the protocol outside of the Card Masters detachment, but announcing herself like that should work and get the attention of the right people.

Zeke heard a voice echoing through the hall. "Caroline Netcher reporting!"

Oh, boy. Probably a patrol making their report. We get to wait through this, too.

He walked up to the door, and leaned on the wall across from it, pulling out some piece of machinery from his backpack. He began to examine it, completely ignoring the world around him.

Genex Controller got up from the backpack, and perched himself on Zeke's shoulder. He began to point out various things in the machinery Zeke held, in a hushed tone. The pair proceeded to discuss the item in Zeke's hands.

Caroline may have heard an "Ugh" sound coming from inside the battle room. It was soon followed by a reluctant "Come in...."

It seemed like the "Right people" had indeed heard her, but weren't exactly all too enthusiastic about it. At least not the person who replied. Inside sat Seto Kaiba, Maximilian Pegasus and Damian Greture. Everyone knew who these people were. Kaiba, leader of the Dragons, Pegasus, leader of the wings, and then Damian, Leader of the Shadow Tamers. Of the three sitting down, Kiba seemed the least pleased to see Caroline. Pegasus was...amused at she sharp introduction, and Damian seemed indifferent.

"The Netcher's Girl? I heard she's a real problem maker, Max." Damian complained immediately to Pegasus.

"Perhaps a bit flamboyant, but that's why we need her." Pegasus mused.

"Explain it quickly, then, because stealth an flamboyance don't mix." Damian countered.

"Of course. You see, Caroline here is a prodigy. Under the guidance of the Silver Wings, she's been able to develop a rather interesting ability." Before Pegasus could branch off into a long speech, Kiba cut him off.

"She's like a radar. She can find cards, which makes her valuable for this sort of job. Also, she's weak, so she's expendable..." Kiba glared forward at Caroline, but his heart was probably glaring at Pegasus.

"Mmmmm" Pegasus smiled and drank from his fancy wine glass, which was still filled with water. "Right you are, Kiba Boy. Of course, if you follow instructions and keep your head about you, you should be just fine, dear." He passed Caroline a charming smile. "Certainly you understand only people of your caliber can be placed in such situations?" He slid three cards across the table. One Monster, and two spell cards--equip cards.

Minami bustled up to the battle room, where the leaders of each of the three main groups were meeting. Effect Veiler seemed to be having trouble keeping up, which was impressive, considering he was technically flying as he hovered alongside the girl. She noticed that a boy had arrived already, and was stood outside muttering about some mechanical thing had in his hand. Effect Veiler was able to see the small spirit sat on the boy's shoulder, but she couldn't. Minami had always had an odd relationship with machinery. As much as she pushed it aside, and didn't care for it, she understood it rather well. Paying no more mind to the boy, she went up and rapped smartly on the door, awaiting a response.

Dylan dashed out of the bathroom door and ran down towards the main office to make up for lost minutes. He simply wasn't able to hold it in. He slowed down as he turned the last corner and Delta Flyer faded into view again. He turned to his Duel Spirit. "Well? You ready?"

"Sure. Of course, I'm not the one getting orders barked at."

"Shut up..." As he looked over at the office doors, he saw Zeke with Genex Controller, as well as a girl he hadn't met before--one who also had a Duel Spirit floating behind her. He walked up to Zeke first, poking his arm to get his attention. "If we were called in, we'll both have to show up. Now come on." Without waiting for either of their responses, he came up to the door and nodded acknowledgment to the girl, folding his arms into his sleeves as they waited for the door to open.

Zeke shoved the mechanical item back into his backpack, and walked up to the door.

So we weren't the only ones. thought Zeke. He looked at the girl next to him. Someone's trying to impress.

"Well, even if the three of us are on the same mission, there's still somebody inside. I think they're reporting a patrol."

"Well..." Genex Controller spoke. "She could be with us, too."

Zeke glanced at it. "I doubt it."

Caroline took the cards and looked them over. Dunames Dark Witch, Silver Bow and Arrow, and Array of Revealing Light. Monster, Equip, and Field. "I understand," Caroline replied to Pegasus. "I will succeed." It didn't matter that the other two didn't think much of her - she'll get her chance to impress them by finishing the mission

"For your sake I hope you will follow their instructions, and not go off on your own" Valkyrie said.

Caroline was about to respond to Valkyrie when there was a knock on the door behind her. She stepped off to the side so that the three leaders can speak with whoever was coming in. She was wondering if the people outside were her companions for this mission, and if so, what kind of 'heroic party' they'd form. Valkyrie was proud that Caroline was being smart and stepped off to the side quietly, but could not help but wonder why the girl was grinning.

(OOC: Note, Zeke currently is the only one who can see other spirits besides his own, and even then, only Machine Type spirits. However, the spirits themselves can see and observe other spirits.

Before receiving Caroline's answer, another knock came at the door. Damian smiled, "Seems like they're finally getting here." He then called to the presence outside the door. "Come in."

"How many did you call down here, Pegasus?" Seto frowned toward Pegasus. For a small operation, it seemed like a large group was gathering.

"To ensure the safty of our prized gems, four. A boy named Dylan, My lovely Miss Caroline, Your little fan-girl Minami Hamasaki and a boy who doesn't get out much named Zeke Walters" Pegasus ran out of water as he took the final drink. He then looked up to Caroline, something devious in his eyes.

Seto Kiba seemed less than pleased with the number, but it seemed like a group of amateurs had been assembled, so it wasn't too far off base. Still...something seemed strange. Of course, something always seemed strange when Pegasus was concerned. He wasn't too happy about Damian being at the table, either. Despite Damian being the more agreeable head of the Shadow Tamer's trinity of command, he was still part of the Shadow Tamers, making him suspicious by default.

If everything went well, then this would pay off. The last thing Damian wanted was the Offensive Prodigy called in to get hurt or killed. Everyone had called a person in. The business corporations called in the Dylan boy, refusing to send anyone worth while. To further the insult, they didn't even send a representative to this meeting. Seto Kiba, seeing it as a useful asset, called in Zeke, who had some sort of affinity with machines. Pegasus requested Caroline for her seeking abilities. Damian and the other felt it best to test the combat capabilities of the last member of the group, Minami Hamasaki. If eveything went along as they wanted, they'd be able to take Minami for themselves, and harness her destructive might for themselves....

Minami opened the door just after Pegasus described her as Kaiba'a 'Fan-Girl.' It was probably a good thing that she did, as had she heard the older man say that she would likely have been extremely embarrassed. However, she didn't and so she stepped smartly into the room, moving forward and to the side to allow room for the two boys behind her to enter as well. "Minami Hamisaki reporting, sirs," she identified herself, even though the fact that they'd called for her probably meant they knew it already. Her eyes lingered in Kaiba for a moment longer than they did the other two, before dancing off to a position between his head and that of the man next to him. Most people wouldn't have noticed it, but Effect Veiler had known her two long. On the other hand, he knew when to keep quiet - even if Minami wasn't likely to do anything here, he was going to be around her long after the meeting was over.

Zeke's argument melted away as he entered the room. For the first time, he understood the power of the leaders.

To argue would be suicide. he thought. Uh... I should introduce myself, I think...

"Eh... Zeke Walters, reporting." He copied how the others had introduced themselves, but there was a slight sharpness when he spoke his last name. He wasn't sure what else to do in this situation, so he just stood there.
