All right, this is a 1-on-1 contest between SaTuRnPaLaDiN (myself) and Mako109 (challenger). The contest cards follow these guidelines:

* Level 4 DARK Spellcaster

* Must have an ATK between 900 and 1000

* Must have 600 DEF

* Must have 'Iof" in its name

* Must have a card eliminating effect

HERE ARE THE CARDS FOR YOUR VIEWING AND VOTING:

MAKO109'S CARD

This card can only be Summoned Face-Down. This card cannot be removed from play while Face-Down. Once Summoned, place 2 (max.2) Flip Counters on it. For every card removed from play, take away 1 counter. Once all counters have been removed, flip back Face-Up. Once in that position, choose one card, and send it to the Graveyard, and the cost of x20 ATK for the Level of the card removed from play.

Creatively, they are both pretty good when you consider all of the stipulations put into place in making these cards. However, my vote goes to SaTuRnPaLaDiN because of numerous OCG errors (all small) in Mako's card and the fact that it is more playable because a weak 4 star with a relatively time consuming effect isn't really that good, especially when it doesn't do all that much. However, that being said, SaTuRn's card is OP'd because of the second effect choice. It runs the chance of a continuous removing of 4 star monsters each time they are summoned.

Since I am nice or at least try to be, I will help with OCG (to the best of my ability) with changes in bold: This card can only be Summoned Face-Down in face-down Defense Position. This card cannot be removed from play while Face-Down. While this card is in face-down Defense Position it cannot be removed from play. Once When this card is Summoned, place 2 (max.2) Flip Counters on it (max. 2). For every card removed from play, take away remove 1 counter. Once When all counters have been removed, flip back Face-Up. this card face-up. Once in that position, When this card is flipped face-up, choose one card and send it to the Graveyard. and the cost of x20 ATK for the Level of the card removed from play. I'm not sure what you were going for here, so I'm not sure how to fix it. You'll notice that these are just rephrases, I didn't change the effect at all. I'm just picky like that, don't let it bother you.

Thanks for the fix. To bad you did that, though, cause now everyone will see the errors and ward them away from my card.

Oh well. ^^"

I have a hard time bringing sense into Mako's card to be honest... but I have to agree with J-Max. Saturn's card has an interesting effect, because Level 4's are pretty popular, and trying to play around this card could be pretty difficult. Also it supports Level manipulation, which expands the tactical uses for the card, even if the effect seems so simple at first. What I don't get is why you have to choose between those effects... it could also be just "destroy 1 card on the field"... or am I missing something?

Anyways, vote for Saturnpaladin.

Right now, it looks to be 2-1. You're still in the game, dude.

@Spoon - The card in question is a spinoff of an old group of subtypes I made a while back known as Rival and Cursed monsters. The Rivals let you pick one of the two effects if the opponent summoned monster of the SAME level and the Cursed monsters let you pick one of two effects of the opponent summoned a HIGHER level monster. The reason that you only got to pick one effect was because the effects were ALMOST always polar opposites - like one would gain life and one would deal damage. They were meant to allow you to adapt and take advantage of just about any type of situation. Also, as you mentioned before, they do work with level manipuation - and they had a LOT of support in doing so.
