Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, then finally Sonic 3 and Knuckles, drove me up a wall.
But it was a VERY nice playthrough. Especially the later game, in which I got all 8 and Super emeralds for Sonic and Tails.
(I'm too lazy to finish Knuckles, since I have no real idea where the bonus rings for him are, and the way they limited him is such a pain)
The Emeralds for Sonic 2 were annoying, but that game is pretty hilarious.

@Anyone who mentioned getting Mega Collection: GET THE PS2 VERSION.
It has save-states :3

I think it's pretty obvious what my favourite game and zone are. :P

Sonic 2 had Tails, and that guy's a freaky stalker. Never played Sonic and Knuckles, which is unforgivable, I know. Especially considering Sonic 1 is easily one of my favourite games ever.

My friend has the Gamecube version, and when he goes to save and then re-load later on, hes at the beginning of the stage again.
The PS2 version, which is the one I have, it lets you save in the middle of a stage, and then re-load later and you will be right were you left off.
It helps if you want to practice the Blue Sphere stages over and over again(gawd that was insanity)

I like how the PS2 version plays like an emulator. I mean how many games does that? I had to abuse it in Sonic Pinball because there was this one crystal in the purple stage that took me a LONG time to get since I didn't want to reach game over. I tried to get all the chaos emerald in Sonic 2 before without saving but doing that requires you to memorize all the bonus stages traps and that's hard to do. I still haven't pull that off since you can just save and do it again.

The games are pretty easy, yo.
Its those freakin' bonus areas that are a pain.
......That's why it helps, knowing the game is basically an Emulator.
