As I feel my life leaving me, I know my soul is being frozen by the blizzard that is death. Now I chose to rekindle my life’s history, and analyze myself for what I have done, and have not. My pain is too great for me to bare, so as I write this memoir of my life I hope I don’t pass writing this. And as I write this I know my life has been wasted, for it is full of hate and regret.
I wish I could do something, now that I look at it. All I herd was a bang and it was all over. I turned around so quickly I think I was faster than a bullet, or at least close. But I saw her fall, my best friend, to a metallic weapon that was a gun. To this day I never found out what they wanted from me. I remember running as fast as I could to her side.
"No. Marie don't leave me. It will be alright." I encouraged tears welling up in my eyes. She started coughing, and blood burst from her mouth and down the side of her face on to her black hair.
"Drake. Get Out of here!" She uttered her life slipping from her. Just as that happened I finally realized where was, in the middle of a war, and not just any. It was one of hate, of anger, of destruction a gang war. A war between to groups, who's only purpose was to kill the other, or that’s what thought. I hid behind a car, a idiotic move because I guess guns can break through metal because I was shot. Pain rushing though my body like snake venom, I had a thought. A stupid one that could get me killed, but I did it anyway.
Rushing to Marie, I tripped and fell, blood leaking from my knee, but compared to getting shot it was nothing but a fly. I plucked her up and into my arms and ran out of there as fast as I could getting shot at least twelve times, or so I thought. Dragging my feet I walked slowly toward a house with blues siding and white gutters. The windows sat perfectly on the ledges that poked out of it. I rang the doorbell with haste.
Two people came out of the house. A man with glasses and short black hair, I didn’t notice what he was wearing. The other was a lady with long blonde hair, so soft you could lay on it.
“Oh my god! What Happened!?” gasped the man taking Marie out of my hands. I never answered that question, because I guessed from the excruciating pain of getting shot I dropped to the ground unconscious.
A couple hours later I awoke to a surprise, in a hospital. I got up quickly, and accidentally vomited on the ground, as a nurse walked in.
“Doctor, Doctor! Come quick Drake’s vomiting.” She yelled loudly while I vomited again. Just as the nurse yelled it, a doctor ran into the room quickly. Grabbing me he lead me to the bathroom, were I vomited for another three minutes. Dizzily I stumbled to the doctor, and he lead me to my bed.
“I’m not surprised you vomited that much. You were in so much pain, and were bleeding a lot when you came into this E.R.” he stated amiably, “ We had to pull nine bullets from your body.” He rambled more but I tuned him out, just to try to remember what happened. A week later, I was back on my own two feet, and at Marie’s funeral. The preacher preached and I was sitting there holding back tears. Most people were already crying, I didn’t want to she probably didn’t want people to mourn her death and try to remember her as she was not how she went. I was sitting there, for an hour after it was over, then I got up walked over to the stone grave and placed a rose on the grass that lay in front of it.

As I was jogging I was thinking bad thoughts, like “They need to pay, and “Those Gang members need to die.
“You!” a girls voice called with a sweet tone, as I stopped crashing into a street sign. A girl grabbed my arms and raised me up from the ground. I peered back and saw one of my great friends. A girl wearing a purple shirt, and red pants stood there. Purple eyeliner outlined her entire eye, and her bangs covered one of her hazel-colored eyes. A purple bow was in her long dark hair. Most girl wear lipstick but I don’t think she did. Her light blue jacket was a little tight on her, but she was a little small for her age. She was fourteen years old one year older than I was.
“Alex! How’ve you been?” I asked
“Fine, I guess.” Alex replied “How ya holding up?”
“I don’t know. Still sad I guess” I stated. Grabbing me she put her arms around my body gently, giving me a hug. A little confused I asked-
“What’s this for?”
“You’re sad.” she said releasing me. She dusted me off because of the dirt I was in after my crash. We started walking down the side walk, not saying a word. I was in deep thought of what I should do next.
“Hey, Alex” I started, “I might go after the gang members who killed Marie.” A little shocked Alex stopped with her hand over her mouth.
“Are you insane! There is one of you and thousands of them! You can’t be serious, can you?” she speculated with intensity. She sat down, with tears in her eyes, I’ll never forget that face she never cried before. A sat down next to her and looked at my feet.
“Don’t cry I need to do this. Please understand” I assured her.
“But what if you get hurt, or worse? How can you be sure you’ll be safe” she said her voice a little creaky. I grabbed her arms and picked her up slowly. Then putting my hands around her I gave her a hug.
“I don’t know the answer to those questions. But I will be fine trust me.” I replied, letting her go.
“And, if I don’t make it back tell no one that I hugged you.”
We walked different ways, me going to my parents shop and her going else where. I arrived at my parents shop, and looked at the wall in the back. Grabbing the bag under the counter, I selected a couple guns of the wall, a Mamba Pistol 9x19mm Parabellum automatic pistol, an AKS-74, and a Mini-Uzi and placed it on the glass cabinet next to me. I picked up the Aks-74 and took out the magazine that held the bullets. Examining the magazine, I grabbed two extra magazines from a rack far back in the store. And placed them in the bag along with the other guns. Just as I’m about to get ready three people walk into the store. A man with red streaks in his hair, and a red jacket, stood there with Alex, and another girl wearing all black.
“Alex, Jason, Kristen what are you doing here?” I asked to my surprise Jason, walked up to me and smacked me in the back of the head.
“What the Hell do you think you’re doing!?” he asked, furious. “Alex told me it all. We won’t let you do this.”
“I’m going so if you’re with me come along, but if you’re not step off and leave me alone” I barked walking out of my parents shop and jumping onto my bike.

I drove through all of the city, until I found mangled and destroyed buildings and maimed streets painted with blood and hate. I knew I found the place I’ve been searching for. Gulping hard, I entered the colossal war-zone, that murdered my greatest friends. Pulling the AKS-74 from my bag, I inspected it one more time. It was small for a firearm, almost tiny, a wood finish coated most of the gun, with a black paint on the rest of it. Taking the sling and putting it over my shoulder I walked further into the battle field, were I will surely die, or barely survive, what will be an onslaught of great proportion. Running behind a broken gnarled wall, I saw two people in the distance, one tall dark and muscular. The other was equally tall, but he was pale and lean. Each holding what appeared to be a pistol in there hands. Preparing myself I grabbed a knife out of my sheath on my belt, and waited.
Twenty minutes later, the tall pale gang member walked pass the broken wall I hid behind. Grabbing him I stabbed the knife into his back holding his mouth, and after two minutes he fell to the ground lifeless and cold. As soon as he hit the ground a hail of lead bullets, at me. Swearing under my breath, I probably gotten shot more then twice, I jumped behind a bigger piece of rock, still broken and destroyed but thicker and taller and it formed a crevice. Bangs were heard, that’s all I heard, but I thought I heard a person approach, so I grabbed my pistol, and aimed it at the side the opening in the rocks I was in. A stupid gang member walked by, so I aimed and pulled the trigger, allowing the bullet to pierce this man’s temple. He fell to the ground blood pouring from his temple.
“He deserved it!” I thought “he probably killed tons off people by now.” Bullets started to pierce the building, and I was under heavy fire. I couldn’t even move. Soon the fire stopped, and I peeked at what was happening. They were out of ammo and reloading there weapons. Taking my AKS-74 I laid fire at there unprotected bodies, my aim was impeccable but I missed way too much. Bullets pierced several gang members and burst through there heads or stomachs. The bleeding was to much for me and I turned away. Looking down, my red jacket was drenched with blood and sweat only a few gang members were a live but I never hit them. One foolishly ran up to the opening in the crevice, and I stabbed him with my knife repeatedly in the chest, tears almost over whelming my eyes.
“GO DIE IN A HOLE!” I screamed at the gang members “LEAVE NOW AND YOU WON”T DIE TOO!” Laughter flooded the sounds in the air and I was furious about this. I grabbed my gun one more time and pulled the trigger hard, shooting them all in the chest. Blood trickled down there chest as they fell to the ground. My vision blurred and I was stumbling around looking around I saw what seemed to be a car pull up next to the road, and a person get out. My eyes slammed shut and I fell to the ground.
I don’t know how long I was unconscious, but when I woke up I saw all of my friends sitting there, as well as my parents. Kristen put her arms around me and gave me a hug, and so did Alex, as well as Megan. Jason and Austin stood there and punched my shoulder.
“Now wouldn’t it have been great with back up?” Jason said jokingly. Looking around I was relieved it was over or so I thought. But I lived in the moment and made an apology, and swore never to do that again.

Rain poured from the sky, as I stared at Marie’s gravestone. A week ago she was killed, and two days ago I took revenge on what killed her, and I felt a shamed. Turning around I was amazed that I saw Jason standing there, his arms folded.
“Hey Little-man” he said smirking. I guess it was instinct to be friendly, but I didn’t have that instinct. It wasn’t natural for me to be pleasant around other people I didn’t know well. But Jason stood there, white jacket, red streaks in his hair all friendly. I paused and thought about what to say.
“Hi,” I sighed. “What are you doing here?” I started walking along the grass looking at all the other gravestones that lied there. There were hundreds of them, but I didn’t bother to read there names it was pointless because I never knew any of them.
“We need your help.”
“Whose we?” I asked questionably. He turned and pointed to Alex who was on the ground with Kristen next to her. I ran over to them, getting closer I caught a sight of a stab wound in her stomach. The wound was deep and blood was pouring out, and she didn’t look good. Her hair was messed up, and wet. Her face was wet with sweat and she was breathing heavily.
“I came to tell you something, something terrible” Jason inquired walking over to my side.
““What?” I asked, my voice a little creaky from what I was seeing.
“She’s dying. We need to get her to a hospital” he insisted turning away.
“Alex don’t die on me. What happened?” I asked my voice still creaky.
“I don’t know” she started “, It was a tall man wearing a bandana. He asked me if I knew a Drake Smith. I said yes, and then he told me to give you “this” but he stabbed me in the stomach instead of giving me an object, and I stumbled to Marie’s grave, But I guess I didn’t make it and crashed with Kristen walking here. I knew you would be hear. But Jason saw me and now he wants me to go to the hospital. But I don’t think I’ll survive the walk.”
“God Damn it!” I screamed. “I didn’t know this would happen!”
“What?” she asked slowly growing colder.
“I went after some gang members, and now there after me. And now there after my friends too”
“Its fine I’ll be all right.”
“No its not we need to get you to the hospital, now!” I said picking her up, “Jason come help me here.” I placed my jacket on her stomach stopping the bleeding temporarily. She put her arm around my neck and the other around Jason and tried to stand. Alex stumbled a couple times but we managed to keep her up on her feet. Walking to the hospital I noticed she was growing colder, paler and the bleeding increased so we started running. Noticing my hands covered in blood I dropped my jacket on the ground and used my handkerchief that was in my pocket. Pressing it deeply to the wound, she groaned with pain. Tears in my eyes wee ran as fast as we could. Along the way she must’ve died because she became lighter, and grew very cold and stiff. When we arrived at the E.R they doctors drag over a hospital bed and took her away into a new room with haste.
What felt like an eternity the doctor came out of the room, with a sad look on his face.
“No. It can’t be, did she-did she die?” I asked trembling so hard every one new.
“Yes.” the doctor sighed. At that moment I felt my very soul split in half, I new it was my fault she died, and now I regret it even more. I turned to look at Jason, and Kristen, then I looked down at my bloody hands. “All that for nothing. Those gang members are going to hell, and I’m going to bring them there!” I yelled tears in my eyes. “I didn’t want this to happen. I didn’t want her to die. And now they brought it on themselves. Those f***ers are going to pay. Two people I cared about died at the hands of them. My sister, and Alex. God damn them!”
“Drake calm down it will be all right.” Jason assured.
“No! I’m going to make them all pay. No one else’s coffin is going to rest on my conscience while I’m alive” I roared. Jason looked at his feet, in thought then walked over to the window.
“I’m coming with you.” he stated
“What? No this is my fight and I‘m fighting it alone” I asked.
“If you’re going after the gang members I’m coming to.” Jason said determined.
“Thanks man but its my fight.” I said.
“Don’t make me beat you!”
“All right but not for a couple days.” I replied giving up. “But I need to prepare”
