Aren't the head masters of Sector Security all from Yliaster?
After all, if the 3 Tenors are from Yliaster and are against Synchro Monsters that could mean that they do some secret projects

If they stopped synchros while synchros were still in an early stage (possibly while it still had yet to become realy popular and have a lot of people use them like crazy) and whiped out Momentum. The Replicas or whatever they are, will maybe not arrive at all in the future.

And what better way is there to stopp synchros then by using the things (likely modified so it won´t go berserk unless the owner tells it to do so) with the ability to steal synchros and it´s power to use against the owner of the synchro monster?


However, I have yet to watch 134 even in raw version and I´m possibly missing details they reveal regarding the future thing.

The three Tenors used to be the Directors, but Yeager took their place.
Yliaster has no connections to Secutor Security other than Goodwin and the Tenors.
The only project was Ghost, and that wasn't on purpose.

Their goal is to change the future that was destroyed by Synchro Summon. Yusei and Jack are perfect targets. If the Arc Cradle's appearance will destroy Neo Domino City, then you could be right here.

All of this still doesn't explain why the Tenors would use monsters that killed them and the people close to them though.
If anything, they should be using Fusions.

The only explanation I have so far is that it was GRANNEL that killed Lucciano's parents and Placido's friend/whatever. Skiel and Wisel, while involved in the city's devastation, didn't leave the emotional trauma.

They also should be dead, so that fits my theory ZONE brought them back as part cyborgs, offering them the chance to use the Machine Emperors to prevent the fate.

From the looks of it, Neo Domino City is intended to be the only casualty of their operations. Neo Domino created Momentum. Momentum is somehow responsible for the fate involving Synchro monsters and the devastation. The Momentum technology spread out from Neo Domino in the future, to other cities, for the same purposes it did in Neo Domino. Because Momentum is so powerful and capable of manipulating the placement of humans and their history, Yliaster first attempted Zero Reverse. It failed, and did not remove the technology and its power permanently. People involved in the project still survived, and continued the work on it until the present day.

The technology became more widespread, and Synchro monsters, possibly gaining popularity (It does seem that the Signer Dragons were the first ever Synchros), relied on Momentum or gave it more energy, considering Momentum is a power source seemingly fueled by Dueling.

The 3 Emperors have the plan to have Neo Domino completely wiped out of existence and rebuilt (Lucciano in 131 said when Arc Cradle descends, the city will be destroyed and rebuilt). Jose in 110 said they "came to this time" to do their plan. By acting before the technology of Momentum is widespread, it ensures only that City will need to be removed from history, a far simpler plan than letting the entire world be destroyed.

On that notion, the Machine Emperor army may have been Yliaster/their God's last resort. "Screw this, just remove it now, show the world why this whole thing was a BAD step". Placido, Lucciano, and Jose know the end result. They will be motivated to stop that fate. It is the unavoidable future they seek to prevent.

This is mostly just theory.

Even if it was Grannel, why would they use something associated with it? Why would Placido of all people come up with a plan for Grannel's Summoning and ATK Skyrocketing?

ZONE probably brought them back. We all can agree on that.

I'm not sure if I heard this right, but Jose said something about "Speed" when explaining the future to Team 5D's. I believe that Synchro Monsters fueled Momentum at an insane speed, especially since the entire city had all began to spam Synchro Monsters. Hell, you can even see a cluttered highway with everyone shouting "SYNCHRO SHOKAN".

Your theory seems the most plausible at this point.
