I'm officially under the impression that SQD's Summon is being overhyped. Maybe I need to see it again or something, but I felt a LOT more summons were better than its. Then again, I still adore Machinecle's first Summon.

I think I´ll have to agree with you on that.

I do not hate SQD´s Summon, in fact, I was almost just as amazed as when SSD was first summoned.
My only issue is that it feels like they went WAY over the top, grabbing a lot of visual details right and left to unbelievably hype the summoning.

Things like Yusei turning into gold is in fact my prime example in this case.
It makes little to no sense and only serves to hype the summoning to what they almost seem to bash into our heads, will be the card that solves all.

Summonings like, as an example, Cubic´s very first, where rather simple, having Cubic kind of materialize with 3D effects and activate, all while backed up by an omnious soundtrack that realy made him feel unstoppable.
Plus, if I remember correctly, the fact that Cubic, even Aporia, existed where kept secret rather well and therefore helped build the hype around Cubic being "the ultimate Machine Emperor", that the duel would now get serious.

Exactly. I liked the Summon, but I think it was too much fake drama.

Yes. The sad part is, I already know it WONT solve all.

Plus Aporia has Placido's voice actor, but with a more menacing, powerful tone. There was something about the way he speaks in that episode that thrills me.

It's worth bringing up that I do NOT like the idea of Delta+ Accel Synchros. Shooting Quasar may be a Delta Accel in it requires 3 Synchros, but Yusei summoned it with 5, all of the Materials being Signer Dragons, with an effect that seems pulled out of nowhere and definitely does not exist on the RL Life Stream Dragon.

Granted, I knew it'd be like that, the severe level lowering.

I think they should have stopped at Accel Synchroing, and Delta Accel was introduced suddenly. Also, the fact Yusei was point out told "Hey, you can still get a Delta Accel despite knowing nothing about it" ticked me off. The series is almost over and they suddenly added another, similar mechanic for Yusei to asspull.

Precisely.

Accel Synchro was a nice add since it is the way Team 5D´s was meant to take to fight back against the Machine Emperors.
Before Accel Synchro was introduced, they had no effective way to counter the Machine Emperors and basicaly where getting pummeled by The Infinity Trio.
Plus, Accel Synchro could easily (and kind of did) take the role as the new thing for the new season of 5D´s and allways provide very nice summonings (though most of the effect they used to have has probably faded for a lot of us right now)

Delta Accel, I have kind of mixed feelings about since I do like the idea of Accel Synchro kind of being "the first step" and Delta Accel releases the full power, but it came out of nowhere and Konami has been realy obvious with the fact that its main purpose seems to be just giving Yusei ANOTHER uppgraded SDD that will deffinetely help him defeat ZONE.

Whatever they called the summoning he did in episode 150 is just so over the top, so situational, out of absolutely nowehere and so ridiculusley hyped that I suspect Konami wrote themselves into a corner and could not for the love of god figure out how they would introduce SQD and Yusei´s Delta Accel with so few episodes left.

Most epic Summon ever: First time we got to see Cyber End Dragon in GX.

Agreed.

And why did he turn gold? Just weird.

Maybe the creators of 5D's really liked G Gundam?

Anyone else noticed that Yusei's bird-d-wheeler kinda looks like Majestic Dragon...

I noted that when "Going my way! Road to tomorrow" was released. I posted that some time ago, too.

You know that the subtype of SQD (At least in the anime) is "Limit Over Accel Synchro"?

I was expecting "Clear Mind" playing while Yusei was summoning SQD :/

Very true, maybe they didn't have enough time for it?
Yes, you are actually right. Clear Mind is like ~3 minutes long. SQD's Summoning was a lot shorter.

I think that Yusei's turning into Gold-guy was kinda unnecessary.

...you're so right. That song is beautiful. Same as Believe in Nexus and Road to Tomorrow (although I prefer the Believe in Nexus visuals to the music itself. Probably because I think some of the best parts of the song happen to coincide with Placido, Jose, and Lucciano's "scenes" in the opening).
