Edmond adressed the scientist while he was taking the volunteers to a bus. He was a thin caucasian man in his late twentie's, with clean black hair.[color="#0000FF"]"The machine that gave us our powers resembles a particle collider. Does it function in a similar way?"[/color] "Ah, a physics buff. I don't know, I'm a biologist. You'd have to ask Dr. Monaghan about that. [i]She's[/i] the physicist. She's also in the bus" [color="#0000FF"]"Well, I like biology too. So, riddle me this, Batman, how do the waves give people powers?"[/color] "That I can explain." Craig leaned over to the biologist. [color="#00FF00"]"Treat him seriously. He is the singular smartest person I know. He'll know all the terminology."[/color] "Okay. Well, I assume you know about the "junk DNA" that comprises 95% of our DNA and isn't used?" [color="#0000FF]"Yes."[/color] "Well the waves induce the bodies to use some of the junk, giving the powers." [color="#0000FF"]Hmmm, fascinating."[/color] The group got to the bus. The biologist stepped in 1st. "Shelly, I've got a really smart physics buff who wants to ask you a question." Dr. Shelly Monaghan was a young, attractive woman with red hair & glasses. Edmond stepped in. "So, whats your question?" [color="#0000FF"]"The machine that gave us our powers resembles a particle collider. Does it function in a similar way?"[/color] "You are smart. It does, just instead of smashing 2 baryons into each other, it forces a strange quark into a neutron. At that point it ceases to be a neutron, with 2 down quarks, 1 up quark, & 1 strange quark. It then ceases to be stable, and..." [color="#0000FF"]"It decays, releasing the waves"[/color] "Exactly. Oh, Dr. Varley is about to talk." By then, everyone was in the bus, the kids, the scientists, & the government agents. "It''ll be a while till we get to the base, so get to know each other."

Assoka walked onto the bus with everyone else, and, catching the conversation Edmond had with Dr Shelly, her head spun, and she sat down quickly, near the front, to avoid falling over. Looking out the window, she coukd still see slow kids leaving the area, still glowing with the slightest blue tinge, nothing noticeable, and kids coming out to play games like usual, assuming all the creepy confusing stuff was over. "Not by a long shot." She muttered. Looking up, she heard that it would take a while to get to base. "Uggh, just like the long ride on a field trip." She muttered. Opening her bag, she couldn't find her I-Pod. "[i]Dangit, now it'll be a boring as ride.[/i]" She thought angrily, waving her hand in a small circle boredly. She looked down, and wished she had her I-Pod, when a blue flash made her head jerk up. Where she had spun her hand in a circle was a small blue portal like thing. It flashed, and out popped he I-Pod. "What the....."

Tentei sat down across from the girl who's Ipod magically appeared from nowhere, and as Tentei sat down Tenma spoke aloud threw Tentei [b]"This is going to get interesting."[/b] Tentei shouted back at Tenma with his thoughts [i]"Shut the hell up! Dam I don't need you adding in your opinion every time something happens!"[/i] Tentei looked around at the other kids who were on the bus and those who had chosen not to join this little operation the government had allowed them to join. Tenma watched threw Tentei's eyes watching all of those who had decided not to join them [i][b]"They shall never know power. They have given into the abyss we call life. We have chosen a path of power and strength where we can grow stronger and more powerful."[/b][/i] Tentei agreed slightly and he looked around one last time before he laid his head back and closed his eyes

I sound a seat in the back corner of the bus, where people wouldn't be watching me. I was feeling rather tired today, and was glad of a chance to slip into a semi-visible state when no-one was looking. Thinking back, this would have been, when I was still alive, one of the days when I was feeling my worst, and would have stayed home in bed all day. But, there I was, on a bus about to head off to work for the government and fight crime. It almost sounded like the concept for a TV show or something. Still, I have to admit the idea was somewhat exciting, if a little nerve-racking - so I suppose it was a good thing I didn't really have them any more.

Charves chose a seat in the front, he looked back behind him to see all the children that were on the bus. "I can't tell how many are on here, but it looks like only a few of us, ten at the most I'd say." Charves said softly and very low to himself and then went back into his seat and took a deep breath and sighed loudly. He then grabbed a book from his bag and opened it up to a certain page; most likely the page that he left off on and then began reading.

On the way to the base Edmond noticed several strange things happening, but he was not surprised. They were superhumans after all. He discussed Physics with Dr. Monaghan most of the way to the the base. He figured out that Dr. Varney was the biologist he'd spoke to earlier. Then, a government agent spoke up. "We are approximately thirty minutes from the base." Fifteen minutes later... "We are approximately fifteen minutes from the base." Ten minutes later... "We are approximately five minutes from the base." [color="#0000FF"]"Is that guy a Robot or what?"[/color] [color="#00FF00"]"He may be."[/color] Five minutes later... "We're here." Everyone piled out of the bus to see a large, modern building in Dragon City. "Come on in." Dr Monaghan said to the group. After following Dr. Monaghan down several halls until they entered a room with a large machine. "This machine will tell us what your powers are. You, come over here." She pointed at Craig. She directed him into a chamber in the middle of the machine. The machine made a buzzing sound, then the doors opened and Craig came out. [color="#0000FF"]"Did that hurt?"[/color] [color="#00FF00"]No, it kinda felt like riding a roller coaster."[/color] A Technician reported:
"He can safely absorb kinetic energy or momentum, store it, and drect it into other objects through touch." "Great. Edmond, come over here." When Edmond got out, "He manipulates psionic energy which can manifest as telekinesis, or visible energy blasts. Also superhumanly intelligent." [color="#0000FF"]"Wow."[/color] Dr. Monaghan pointed to a 3rd person. "Now, you."

Assoka entered the building, shuddering slightly. She wasn't sure if she had made the right decision coming here, but she wasn't going to give up when others did the right thing without complaint. She put her I-Pod back in her bag, and waited. She saw both Craig and Edmond enter a strange machine that hummed and buzzed. To be honest, it was slightly strange, but when Assoka thought about it, everything was strange now. Dr Monaghan pointed at her. "Now, you!" Gathering her courage, she stepped into the machine. There was a loud buzzing noise, and she stepped out, unharmed, to her relief. The technician looked at the results. "She can teleprt objects short distances by the use of portals. She can also travel to places within an undetirmened radius, by those same portals." "Cool" Assoka nodded. "Now, you!" Dr Monaghan said, pointing at the next person.

Tentei walked into the building following the others into the room and watched as three of them stepped into the large machine which could read their abilities, all of which seemed useful, but then the person who seemed to be in charge pointed to him "Now you." she said. Tentei walked up to the machine and stepped into it, the machine took a few seconds longer to read Tentei's powers due to it's complexity, but when it had finished Tentei stepped out the technician explained "This ones powers seem to be in a two step proses, the first stage allows him to split his natural body into two almost identical bodies. One is inhabited by his 'soul' or mind rather and the other is inhabited by a second personality so to speak. Once this first stage has been past the two have access to one power each which are directly linked to both of them. The original can create telekinetic barriers that can span to an unknown distance but are transparent and can't be seen by the normal human eye. The other has pyrokinetic abilities that allow him to create flaming swords in his hands that can reach a fairly high range of temperatures maximum temp unknown." Tentei smiled Tenma laughed manically in Tentei's head "That's interesting." he said as he returned to were he was standing. Dr. Monaghon pointed to another person "Now you."

Charves did as everyone else did; walked into the building, got in a group, meant with dr. whatever, and was now being called into the machine after another guy had just finished in there. [i]Seems like that's all I do, just follow everyone else and do what everyone else is doing; not caring about what myself as an individual wants. Charves let out a sigh and slowly started walking towards the machine. "One step towards following the crowd I guess..." Charves said and then stepped into the machine and then stepped out a second later. "This person has two unique abilities, one is the ability to understand and automatically know the history of an object!" [i]Otherwise known as a clairvoyant. I already knew that one, lets see if the cant tell me something USEFUL.[/i] Charves thought and the man then started talking again. "His second power is the ability to replicate any other super's abilities through physical contact." Charves was intrigued. "You don't say?" Charves gingerly walked over to the group, as if he was simply walking back just like the other. Then he suddenly grabbed Assoka's shoulder. "Let's take yours for a whirl." Charves opened a portal in thin air and jumped into it and went to an undisclosed location. Moments later a new portal opened and he stepped out. "Seems to work fine, doc." Charves said. "Could create contingencies though." Charves said to himself, not caring about how Assoka would feel just now being a tool to his little power test run.

As much as I may have wanted to put it off, I eventually had to face the fact that I'd need to use the machine. It was somewhat unnerving for me, since I wasn't sure how the machine was going to respond. It had worked for everyone else, but they were all alive. With bodies. I stepped into the machine, taking care to ensure I didn't go through anything.
Despite my trepidation, it wasn't particularly notable inside, although I seem to remember it felt rather odd. There was a whirring, and then the door opened again. I was relieved to get out of that thing, as the technician read the 'results':
"She's not there," he said, checking his apparent surprise, "physically, that is. She's incorporeal, and can adjust her own visibility and that of objects she is in contact with at will."

((OOC: I wasn't sure how the machine would work given her non-living nature, so I had it treat her ghost-ness as a power))
