.Nu-13
Harald followed Nimue. "Whew, thanks. I thought that we're finished." After few minutes, Harald was by the foot of the mountain. He had no time to look back if Nimue is following him, so he started to climb. He was still exhausted. In the middle of the road, Harald tried to hold one of the rocks, but it broke. Harald started to fall. He still had no energy to use Rune Eye. Suddenly, someone catched him. He couldn't believe his eye - it was Odin. The real Odin. "Harald, I didn't thought that you will surrender" "Hey, how could I NOT TO surrender while I was falling from few thousand metres?!" "Harald, Harald... you must still learn many things." Odin put Harald on one of the bigger rocks and vanished. "What was that anyway?" But Harald had no time to think. He started to climb again. Finally, he reached the peak. But, he had no more energy. He fell unconscious. Alone, in cold weather, on the peak on the mountain...
encapturer
The simply-named Osalian Mountain Range lay south of Eldwund, and extended halfway down the center of the continent Osalia laid on. This time of year the snow was light up on the peaks, but the cold air still gets to one who scales them unprepared. Still, it was a good place to hide out, if one was careful. Then Zack watched Harald as he began to climb, leaving Nimue and himself behind. Zack tried to call him back down, since he had things to discuss with both of them. He did not respond, and continued climbing like a man posessed. While part of him wanted to chase after him and made sure he didn't die, another part of him did not want to leave Nimue alone; at least not before answering her questions. "So," Zack began, still looking upward where Harald was. "We'll probably have to chase after him at some point, but..." When he paused, he turned to his side to face Nimue. He could easily track down Harald later if need be. "This is probably the only we can rest. If you have any questions to ask me, now's the time." Time Psyduck
On the edge of town, the police having been left behind, Nimue stopped, the whirlwind collapsing as she leaned over, panting for breath. Harald ran past her and began to climb the mountain, seeming to be obsessed over something. She was about to try and carry on when Zack turned to her, pointed out the lack of anywhere else to rest, and asked if she had any questions. She paused and thought about it for a moment. Something seemed off about this, and she quickly realised what. "OK then," she replied, looking the man in the eye, "Who are you two, why are the police after you, and why didn't you just introduce yourself? Seriously, why on earth would you think I had some huge amount of questions to ask, and to you in particular?"
encapturer
Zack couldn't believe it. Here he offered her the chance to ask any questions she wanted, and she just told him off! Was it really that important that he introduce himself? Still, he couldn't get angry; after all, she's only human. "Well, first off, I'm Zack. Just Zack. I didn't just introduce myself because I figured it would be more important that you know what's going on right now..." He paused for a moment to glance up the mountainside. As expected, Harald was already out of sight. "That guy climbing up there is Harald, and he's like you... since he is not like the other people. Anyway, because of that, you two have been marked for death, and if you stay near anyone that's not Released like you two are, they will kill you. So I'm here to make sure you don't die before Evan Adarian finishes his duty." Zack turned back to Nimue and crossed his arms. "Satisfied?" he asked. There was a bit of hostility in his voice, probably because he isn't used to people questioning him like Nimue did. "If you are, we better catch up with Harald." Time Psyduck
Nimue stared blankly at the person before her. What is with this person. It seems he knows something, but what does he know, and how does he know that I want to know these things. She had thought that these two were just a couple of criminals making a break for it, but it seemed they were connected to whatever it was that was causing everyone to act strangely. "What are you talking about? Released from what? And who's this Evan Adarian person? If you have answers, I want them, but how do I know you know things unless you tell me?" She turned around and set off after this Harald person.
Magnet Soldier
Michael noticed a single cop car behind him. He had lost the rest of the force, but he imagined it wouldn't take them long to find him with one of their own tailing him and the fact he was driving at nearly 150 Miles an hour. He skidded into a large road leading through the center of the city. As soon as he turned into the road, he realised he'd made a big mistake. Atleast fifty SWAT(Or whatever special forces thing the city has) vans were on the road, blocking every exit except the one he'd entered by, which was blocked by the cop that had been tailing him. Michael slammed on the brake, sighed and came out of the car with his hands up. He walked towards the nearest blockade of vans, which was luckily the one with the least vans, and overheard someone saying on the radio, We've got him. Michael laughed when he heard it, just as around 20 men surrounded him. 1 man survived, and he swore to the rest of the police force that Michael had blurred out of focus. He swore that the 19 other men were dead within a minute(Which everyone knew), and he'd just survived because of a badly aimed bullet in the arm(Which was there). He also swore that the man did not fire a bullet, he fire a missile. He was incorrect in that part - Michael had actually shot a fire bullet, which exploded every time it hit something solid. The one that hit the surviving soldier went faulty - but he was correct in everything else. Noone believed him of course, and he was imprisoned for treason. Michael had fled the scene instantly, and had ran for something that interested him, an unnatural whirlwind that had appeared in a clear sky. He ran towards it faster than any man should have been able to, and easily tracked the group up to the mountains. "Lets hope these guys are 'Released', or else....well, I dont know." And he ran up the mountains side, not noticing a certain falling body being caught by a giant man dressed in Viking attire.
encapturer
Linus stood and watched in horror as most of his squad was struck down by a single man. Trained soldiers, defeated by a single runaway criminal! One of his men seemed to survive the carnage, but that was a cold comfort seeing that he failed to catch a single one he set out to. "This is Commander Linus - we need a cleanup crew at my position. It's a disaster." Linus said into his radio. After the other side replied, he forcefully threw the radio down to the ground by his feet, shattering the device. "Now comes the hard part..." he muttered to himself, as he returned to his vehicle. "Telling the General..." ~~~ "Simplest way to put it... let's say that inside the human body is something that can control their mind. Kind of like a hive mind, though it's not active all the time." Zack said as he began climbing up after Harald with Nimue. "That hive mind does not like the fact that you are 'released': not under it's control. As for Evan; he's considered a criminal mastermind, when the only crime he committed is freeing people from the hive mind's control. And..." Zack paused for a moment before looking upwards. He could sense Harald, but there was another Released up there. "How lucky! Another released awaits us where Harald is!" he said, speeding up. "Guess I don't have to go back into town right now!"
Time Psyduck
"So there's some sort of hive mind that controls everyone, and it doesn't like us because we're not under it's control? I guess that makes sense," Nimue decided, before breathing deeper. She wasn't unfit, but she wasn't exactly the type best suited to climbing mountains either. She watched as the mysteriously knowledgeable person alongside her sped up, claiming that there was another person who, like her, wasn't affected by this mind control thing up there, along with man they'd escaped the city with. She sped up after the strange man. "How do you know who is or isn't 'released?'" she asked.
encapturer
"There's a spell for that, and it's actually used by most law enforcement personnel and government agents are taught." Zack said. The incline the two were climbing up wasn't as steep as it has been; Zack figured it was because they were nearing the top. "Basically a tracking spell, and it lets you see a kind of 'aura' around people. The aura would be a certain color, depending on which specifics you were searching for. But Released, no matter how the spell is tweaked, always emit a white aura. It's usually ignored, due to how the hive mind works, but..." Zack cut himself off because he had reached the clearing that Harald had collapsed at. Also there was Michael, who had just gotten there as well. Zack walked forward and smiled at the young man, not even noticing that Harald lay unconscious. "And the third has made it here as well. How convenient." Magnet Soldier
"So, convenient is it. Convenient that, just to get to have a chat with Evan, I have to fend of over 200 police officers, with a revolver and a Merc? Convenient that I have to climb a mountain steeper than hell just to see him, and to be chased by what seemed like a million machine guns? And when I get there, it's not even Evan I see, just some guy who knows a spell to detect me. Honestly, your lot seem to be very casual about the fact that the world is out to kill us." Michael said, calmly, despite the hurtful words. His piercing electric blue eyes stared into Zack's, but saw no fear, not like what normally showed when people looked into his eyes. "Well, I believe your trustful atleast. Though even think about attacking me, and I'll shoot you before you can take a breath." As if proving his point, he pulled his revolver from its holster at a near impossible speed and shot a lone police officer that was walking up the mountain, not looking, from about 300 feet away. However, the bullet was not fatal, it only hit the police officers foot, maiming him, but it still proved his point. "I'm being serious." And he holstered his gun again, staring at the unconcious man laying before him. "I dont know any healing Magic. What about you two?"
encapturer
Zack shook his head as he took off his cloak and wrapped it around Harald, hoping that it would help warm him up. After he did so, he turned back to Michael. He seemed angry at Zack for a reason he couldn't figure out. After all, he's done all of this to clean up Evan's messes! "It would have been better if you all weren't released, but you can continue living if you stay away from society and mingle with others only when needed. And as for Evan himself... he's not even in the country right now, though I hope whatever he's planning pays off." After saying his piece he looked down at Harald, then back at the others. "Perhaps we should find someplace where Harald isn't exposed like this..."
.Nu-13
Harald slowly opened his eyes. "Huh, Zack? And who is he?" Harald said pointing at Michael. He was still very cold. "But, what's happening with Brave? I must go to the temple." The temple was like half a kilometre away. Harald stood up and tried to walk, but he collapsed. "Damnit!" Again, Harald started to feel very cold. He saw just blurred objects. He was slowly dieing... But, he remembered Zack's and Odin's words. They were right. Harald couldn't surrender. With last bit of life, he said as loudly as he could, but still rather quietly: "De gamle krigsguden, kommer til meg og låne meg din makt! Rune Eye!" Harald knew that it won't work. He was too exhausted. But he couldn't give up. Harald's hope was keeping him alive. Suddenly, he felt a burst of warm. His left eye was slowly transforming. Rune Eye worked, even due to lack of energy. After few moments, Harald was lively and strong as always. He grabbed Gungir and pointed at Michael. "Zack, who is he?" Time Psyduck
Nimue was glad that Harald had managed to recover by himself. She had the healing magic she had heard the other person asking about as she approached the top, but it was very energy intensive, such that it really wasn't worth it, not if moving him somewhere sheltered and keeping him warm would do the job - and especially not if he had a glowing eye that would let him revive himself. Her own spell would have exhausted her to bring him round, and to get him to the state he was now would have put her in at least as bad a state, if not a lot worse, than Harald had been in when they'd reached the summit. Still, had she said something, no doubt at least one of the other two would have insisted she do something - most people who couldn't use healing magic severely underestimated how much energy it used up. Harald asked about the identity of the new arrival. Good Question. Just who is this guy? He seems to know that Evan Adraian person, but not his helper here. Still, whoever you are, I don't think Zack meant it was convenient for you.
.Nu-13
"I don't know why, but I somehow doesn't trust this guy." Harald said about Michael. "I have no time, I must go help Brave." Harald dashed in the direction of the temple. Meanwhile, in the temple... Brave was looking at the mysterious man, trying to see his face. "Enough, Brave. Give me the Tablet!" "You can dream!" Brave shouted and put his hand on his necklace. A purple spirit came into him. Brave gained Loki's power. He jumped to attack the mysterious man. However, he easily knocked Brave back. Now, Brave could see the man's face clearly. "No... it's impossible... Dragan?!" "Heh, so you recognized me. Now, perish in the depths of the Asgard!" Harald took out his hammer and tried to hit Brave. However, he managed to evade the Mjöllnir. He looked at Dragan once again. His eyes were weird, like a blue glass. It seemed that he is possessed by something or someone. Suddenly, Dragan threw out his hammer and took out something from backpack. It was circle-like object, with a rune on it. "It it Thor's Rune Tablet?! Dragan, no!" "Shut up, Brave!" Dragan yelled. He put his hand onto the Tablet, and called the chant: "When the Door to Asgard opens, the Ancient War God will raise up his Magical Hammer! The very earth itself will shake as he appears from a roar of thunder! I call forth the spirit of mighty ruler of thunders! Come to me, Polar God Emperor Thor!"
encapturer
"Sir, what are you doing?" Karl Sanders was sitting in his office back in his office in Mandara, the capital of Osalia. As the President of his country, he should be extremely busy. Instead, he was sitting still in his chair, staring off into the distance. Most of his term in office had been spent like this, except for the times he visited Franklin Ettada, the crown ruler of Mercado. Still, for not doing much, Osalia has been the most prosperous it has been in history. Thus, no one really bothers him when he loafs around. Except for Nemina Lattice, Karl's secretary and trusted assistant, who often questions Karl when he gets like this. She was standing by the door, just staring at her unresponsive president. "Oh, just helping clean up some vermin," Karl replied, suddenly springing to life. In so doing, he placed his hands off the table and onto his lap, revealing a sheet of paper with scrawlings about Norse Mythology written all over it. "What, Linus wasn't enough?" Nemina replied, taking a seat on the other side of the desk. "Nah, he's doing the best he can, but these guys are above his level right now," Karl said. "Maybe I should give him something later. But right now, I found something even better to use." Nemina picked up the paper off of the table and glanced it over. "Norse deities? Really?" she said, obviously not liking his choice. "Someone actually had the power to summon one," Karl said laughing. "And since the mountains they are at is full of Aether, my influence can power up Thor even further!" "So you got Thor?" Nemina asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yep." "Loki's better." "Whatever." Karl replied, waving at her dismissively. "Anyway, it's about to get good. Controlling a deity's avatar is always thrilling." "Sure, sure, just don't go blow up the mountain, now." Nemina said mimicking Karl's earlier snobbish tone. "Alright, alright, geez..." Karl said finally, before returning to his trance-like state.
After Dragan chanted, gales gathered in the room as the area started to get charged with electricity. The sheer pressure of Thor's summoning knocked Brave out cold, and his body was flung across the room against the wall. Moments later Thor appeared, muscular and taller than life. He wore brown, woolen armor and a viking hat. The only thing missing from his enseble was his weapon, the Mjollnir. As he walked past Dragan to pick up his weapon, the mortal man himself fell unconscious, slumping down to the floor. And once the weapon was in his hands, Thor began to glow an unearthly bright blue hue. Now prepared, the supernatural being stepped out of the temple and stood at the entrance, waiting for those who were heading to his location. *********** "Well, he's like you, so..." Zack said, trying to reply to Harald's question. But before he could finisg, Harald cut him off, saying he had no time, and ran off up a path. "HEY!" Zack called out to Harald, who didn't slow down. "Where are you going?!" He began chasing after Harald, trying to get him to stop. "Come back here! ....At least leave my cloak!" Zack had no idea whether or not the other two decided to follow after them, but once he and Harald reached their destination, he hoped that they stood where they were, or even better, ran away. For at the end of the path lay Thor, gripping his signature hammer tight in his right hand. As if the show off his strength, he swung Mjollnir at a nearby pillar, causing a lound impact which reverberated throughout the mountain, followed by the destruction of the pillar, which shattered into pieces. The fall of the pillar caused a chain reaction causing the whole temple he emerged from to crumple to the ground. Turning back to Harald and Zack who stood before him, he rested his hammer over his shoulder. "Welcome..." Thor said, giving the two a wicked smile. "Well," Zack said to Harald while drawing his blade from its scabbard. He was oddly calm about the whole thing, and acting surprised at all. "Ready to kill one of these Polar Gods?" Time Psyduck
Nimue ran after the two other men. She wasn't sure why she did - even if Zack knew something about why the world was the way it was, she still wasn't a part of their group, was she? - but she followed them. As she caught up to them, she found herself looking straight at a figure of immense power. Even ignoring the fact that he'd just demolished a temple with one hit, she could almost visibly see the power radiating from what she could tell was a being of immense power, a god even. Zack drew his sword, apparently intending to fight what he said was a 'Polar God', which she guessed meant it was a Norse god, and given the hammer she guessed at Thor. They were going to fight Thor? "What are you doing?" she asked, stepping alongside them, "you clearly know what manner of being this is, so how do you propose to fight it?" Even so, she took up a battle stance, and readied magic in her mind.
Magnet Soldier
Michael, who had appeared near Zack a few seconds after Zack himself was up at the mountain, drew his revolver once again, his hand a blur. His other revolver and his katana remained sheathed, but that still didn't diminish the fact that Thor was going to be a challenge. Impossible even, to just two people, very unlikely to three. "If you were thinking it would have been good if we'd ran, you were wrong. I'm quite good with my judgement, and my judgement is that you would have died if either me or that girl had stayed behind. Michael said, his gun aimed at Thor. "Even these guns wont kill him alone, and these are powerful guns." Michael added, before blurring out of focus. There has to be an avatar somewhere in there. He thought as he appeared on the other side of Thor, too fast for the god to react, and ran inside the rubble of the temple. He grabbed the two men inside and dragged them out, loosely gripping his gun in the hand that dragged brave. When he was out in the fresh air again, he ran faster, dragging them to a gap inbetween two pillars of stone, concealed from Thor, and unreachable to the giant ven if he knew where they were. Michael walked slowly to the entrance of the valley-like gap, and gripped his gun more firmly. Thor hadn't even noticed he had gone. The arrogance of a god. Michael thought, although he realised gods had a lot to be arrogant about. He didn't dare come out from his hidey-hole, but instead waited, laying in the snow, still as a panther before the pounce, his gun aimed at the hollow between the bottom of the ear and the neck, a very large vulnerable spot on the giant. encapturer
((Did Michael know about the two inside the temple, or did he find them on his way to find cover?)) "Either we kill him, or he'll kill us," Zack replied to Nimue before rushing forward to face the towering god. His weapon lacked the reach that Mjollnir had, and he had trouble landing any blows on Thor. While his sudden assault failed, it did give Michael the time he needed to set himself up in a hidden position within the rubble of the destroyed temple. Thor rewarded his bravery by swinging his hammer and smacking Zack on his side, causing him to fly towards the cliffside behind the collapsed temple. While the impact against the cliffside probably would have knocked a normal human out cold, Zack stood up, the only visible damage to him being a few bruises and damaged armor. While Zack was recovering, Thor turned his attention to Harald, the one who currently owned Gungnir. Utilizing the momentum he had from swinging Mjollnir at Zack, he brought the hammer over his head and swung downward at the ground. As the hammer was lowered, its head seemed to grow in size, until it struck the ground. The impact caused the earth to split in front of him, and numerous bolts of electricity snaked along the ground towards Harald at incredible speeds, threatening to fry him alive. Time Psyduck
So you're winging it then, Nimue mused as the man charged straight at the god stood in front of him, good to know the heroic idiots aren't all dead yet. She closed her eyes, and it seemed she may have been muttering something, before opening her eyes again and staring straight at Thor. Her irises flashed as her spell was cast, and she stared her target in the eye for a moment, before she suddenly blinked and recoiled in surprise. "It didn't work? Of course it didn't, that's things got to much power. Oh well, I'll just have to back up the others. She turned her head to be able to see both Harald and Zack. If you're doing this, then you're going to need a lot of luck. Here's a start. She turned back to Thor, planning her next move. Magnet Soldier
((Sorry, have edited to say he knew there had to by someone channelling the god into this world, and went to find them.)) Michael watched silently as Zack was thrown and bolts of lightning were shot at Harold. He had to stay hidden, until Thor was distracted again. He found that moment when Nimue used her spell. Michael had a feeling that they still didn't trust him, especially when Nimue cast a spell - most likely a helpful one - on the other two and not him. I'll have to prove I'm trustworthy, or else we'll all most likely die. He said to himself, rushing after Zack as Nimue's spell was cast, taking Thor's attention. ("For a god, he weren't half dum." He would say later on.) As he appeared next to Zack, the man was already standing, uninjured besides from a few bruises on his cheeks. "You alright Zack?" Michael asked, pointing his gun once again at the point between Thor's neck and ear. "You got lucky, as in that girl over there's used what's most likely some lucky spell." Michael muttered, looking back at the place where he'd hidden the two other men. "Come on."
.Nu-13
(OOC - Nimu, Thor is rather normal-sized, but a bit large. Like, 2 metres) Harald saw Thor swinging his hammer at him. He quickly dodged it, but then thunders were coming towards them. He stuck Gungir in the ground and used it as lightning rod. However, he couldn't use Gungir for a while. "Dragan, what are you doing? Stop it!" Harald tried to calm Thor, but he didn't listen. Harald had no ideas what to do. But suddenly something came to his mind. He swiftly ran behind Thor and came to Brave. He was unconscious. Harald took Brave's necklace from its neck, and hit it with Gungir. The purple tentacles came out from necklace and covered Gungir. Then, Gungir started to burn with purple flame. Harald catched it. It wasn't hot. It was cold. He quickly jumped to Thor and hit him. Thor moved a bit. That proved Harald that power of 2 Gods will work.
encapturer
"Hah," was all that Zack managed to spit out in response to Michael. Sure his body was *tough*, but even that had its limits. "I'll have to thank her later," he added as he drew his sword once again. He planned to taking Thor on headfirst once again, but something happened that took him by surprise. Harald had done something to his spear. Zack wasn't sure what it was, but it was bathed in purple fire, which Harald could safely touch. Harald held the burning weapon and struck at Thor with it, only to clash with Mjollnir. However, just being near this fire seemed to have an averse effect on Thor, and was forced to leap backwards away from Harald. With a loud, animalistic roar, Thor raised his hammer above his head, pointing it towards the sky. From the hammerhead came multiple arcs or electricity, forming a dome around him. The llighting danced erratically as the dome began to expand . As Zack and Michael were close to Thor (compared to Nimue, anyway), quickly hid himself behind some rubble to protect himself from the lightning. "Can't get close at all," Zack said, peering out from the side of the rock , only to duck back behind it when lightning struck the stone he was hiding behind. "Can someone take care of that?" he asked outloud, frustrated that himself was limited to mostly melee combat.
Time Psyduck
Nimue's eyes flashed, and several bolts of water flew straight towards the powerful figure, however before they made contact he created some sort of electrical shield, which began to expand outwards. Her eyes flashed again, and within the electrical barrier the ground changed texture, becoming soft and yielding, and almost like quicksand to the powerful being stood atop it. She didn't have a way to stop electrical attacks, especially not from a thunder god, so the best she could do would be to distract the god in the hope that he would stop his attack, and hope the others wouldn't be hurt by it. encapturer
The ground below Thor began to give way to his immense weight, now that the ground he stood became a type of thick slush. Thor did not realize it at first, but he began sinking slowly into the ground. When he noticed that his electrical field was shrinking, he was not amused. "What?! What is this?" As his concentration broke, the electrical attacks ceased, and a relieved Zack emerged from behind his stone. Noticing that Thor had sunk halfway to his knees, he dashed forward with all his strength, ready to go all out. "Harald! Whatever you did before, do it again!" Zack called out as he ran. He wasn't sure if rushing in again was the best idea, but there was nothing else he could think of. Striking down Thor before he had a chance to recover seemed to be the only choice the group had... Time Psyduck
Seeing that her plan had worked, Nimue stopped casting the spell, causing the ground to solidify around Thor's legs, and panted to catch her breath. Looking up, it seemed that Zack was planning to move in whilst the god was trapped in the ground. Her eyes flashed, and a number of bolts of water flew straight towards the imposing figure. Looking back at what she would probably have to admit were her allies, she noticed their weapons were of very different weapons. Harald had a magical spear which he was boosting somehow, whilst Zack had what seemed to be an ordinary sword, and she made a decision - she'd let him use hers. There was that third guy, the one who's been in the wrong place when she used her portent of fortune on the others, but he used guns, and even those seemed to have magical power - in fact they even felt slightly familiar somehow, which she couldn't quite explain. "Zack," she called, before closing her eyes. She opened then with a flash, and a large sword just appeared, out of thin air, in front of the man. "Use that one," she explained, "I'll be better than yours."
