Her dragon was not there, yet the body of her dragon there. Her dead dragon. She lay beside his corpse, sobbing silently into the night. Her tears froze as they fell, the icy cold weather having no mercy for the girl, snow swirling around her. Out of the shadows, a man appeared. "What are you doing?" He hissed, his voice frosty, sharp. No, this was no man. A different creature, a strange race. "We're running out of time! Get up!" He said through his fang-like teeth. She stood up hesitantly, her black staff in hand. A murky purple smoke swirled around it, engulfing the raven-shaped stone at the top. She wanted to say something, but she held her tounge. And the Creature could see this. "Speak, foolish child!" The girl flinched at his sharp response, and she said hesitantly, timidly, "I... I am afraid." Her voice was soft, and she wanted to cry. But she didn't. The Creature was angered by this girl. "Fool! There is no room for fear in this world! There are only two types of people-- the feared, and the fearing! I am one of the feared-- but what about you, weakling?" He said, getting close to her, and grabbing her by the hair so that she would look into his yellow eyes. She screamed when he tore some of her hair out. His voice was lower now, with fake sympathy. But the girl didn't see this authenticy. "Remember what they did to you. Remember how they abandoned you. They left you for dead. They don't care about you anymore. But I do. Together we will rule this land. Together, we can get revenge." He was cooing to her now, and she was taken in by his spell. Reiolex, Midnight, 3,000,000 B.C. The girl lifted her staff into the air, the black mineral now glowing red with the Dark Magic. A dark haze floated menacingly around her staff, glowing red, and the girl was changed. Her eyes were cold and ruthless now, filled with the hunger for revenge. They were no longer the pure, innocent blue that they once were, but a dark, merciless black that would chill any soul to the bone with a single glance. For a moment, she hesitated. Was this the right thing? But she waved off the thought, now only thinking about getting what she deserved- revenge on the people who had left her behind. With a sudden movement, she created a tear in between time and space, linking two, very different worlds together. With a sudden movement, she ruined her life, tainting it, no, scarring it with darkness. With a sudden movement, she unleashed the worst nightmare that was ever imagined.

Evangeline] I woke up slowly, dragging my feet out of bed. It was the summer, and the school I've attended for the last eight years was closed until the first green leaf of the summer became the color of the sunset. I heard a voice, and when I opened my eyes for the first time, I saw my brother, Jason standing before me. His dark brown hair fell into his chocolate brown eyes, and a huge grin was on his face, bright enough to make anybodys day. Jason just had that affect on people. "Is it today?" I said, my blonde bangs getting in my way when I tried to look at the calender. My hair pretty much came out of nowhere. My Dad had pitch black hair like a ravens, and bright, jubilent green eyes, and my Mom looked almost exactly like me brother- dark brown hair, dark brown eyes. I was the blonde-haired blue-eyed girl in the family. I've traced back my family history, like, ten generations, and none of my relatives had blonde hair and blue eyes. There's brown hair, red hair, black hair, even blue hair- but no blonde. "What d'ya think? Of course it's today, Eve! Why would I get up in the summer, or even heck, any day at seven in the morning?" Jason exclaimed. He was already wearing his red robes, signifying that he had completed the School and had a Dragon. My navy blue robe, that showed I was in my ninth year of the School and had a Dragon, was hanging on my doorknob. Right now I was just wearing pajamas. Groaning, I walked back upstairs. "Hurry up! We're an hour behind, Eve!" Jason called, obviously annoyed. We had both been looking forward to today- today was the day we traveled into Dusk Forest to find the alleged Snake Man. On the calender, the day was circled in red ink seven times. Why seven? Because it was our lucky number. The seventh year at the School is when you graduate, there are seven plates on a dragon's tail, and my Seventh staff still hasn't broken after three years. (That was actually my secret, but still...) Throwing on my blue robe, I grabbed my staff and shot down the stairs, finally awake. "Remember, we have to watch out for the Templars. Nobody is allowed to travel into Dusk Forest, and the Templars-" "Guard it 24/7. Jason, I already know. The Templars could isolate our magic and we could get killed, so I'll have Wimseix watch, and Ken'Tak can help watch too." I said, crossing my arms. Ken'Tak and Wimseix were our Dragons. Wimseix, my Dragon, is snow-white and huge. He's aggresive, proud, and territorial. The only Dragon he doesn't hate is Ken'Tak. Ken'Tak is golden, with whiskers on his face and a long tail. He reminds me of a serpent. Ken'Tak is pretty much laid-back, he doesn't have any problems with any Dragons, that I know about, at least. "Okay." Jason said, sighing. He probably was looking forward to lecturing me again. He's seventeen- only two years older then me, but he acts like he has as much authority as Mom or Dad. I checked to make sure I had my staff, and my pouch of meat for Wimseix and Ken'Tak, and I walked out the door to Dusk Forest.
