YAY, I'll probably post tonight.
[spoiler=My Ace Monster]
Scarlet Serpent
LV 10 / Fire / Reptile / Effect
ATK 3500 / DEF 3000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field by Tributing 2 monsters they control. You cannot Normal Summon or Set the turn you Special Summon this card. When this card declares an attack the owner of this card takes damage equal to this cards attack.

sorry, just seeing you on every now and then, waiting for a post and nothing happens. also why isnt' that I can't even finish a duel lately!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Is anyone ELSE up for a duel who will actually FINISH it? I just want to duel with these new cards I made and I've been waiting a week, can't wait any longer so please ANYBODY!!!!

Also I had an Idea just to make duels realistic. You see in the other Yu-Gi-Oh RP I'm in I suggested that we number the cards in our deck, then use this website:
http://www.random.org/
to decide what cards we draw/what coin outcomes are/what die outcomes are. This way the duel is realistic and no one can pull of a god mod move unless you have a little something called luck! But this way everything is under controlled! That's why my decklist is numbered so I can use this system to be fair? Also I expect a few people to choose what card they draw every now and then but only on certain occasions and as long as they aren't doing it all the time. all in favor of this being placed as a rule say "I"

Nay.

The system is good if the RP is done tournament-style, but this isn't. There's supposed to be a narrative here, and what's played can be as much about telling the story as playing the game. Also some Anime/Custom Cards can be more powerful than real ones and/or rather situational, meaning randomisation problematic. The RP's on this forum are narrative based, rather than stat-based like dungeons and dragons - we're on a forum, so unless the host (or someone else acting as GM) does it and informs players what they have it's very open to abuse. If you're in a duel that has no plot significance, or either person can win with the same outcome, then you can do it if you , but I can't support it as a rule.

Also, I don't even like having fixed decklists, and not having those makes a random generator awkward.

Besides, not using the randomiser means you can run things in 1's, and thus increase the number of cards you can show off, including situational cards that otherwise wouldn't be used.

okay well think of this. You and someone else is in a duel correct? and without this system they can show off their cards, true, but what if they, oh i don't know... Summon a ritual monster on their first turn each time they duel? Or SOMEHOW keep on drawing cards that are just oh so perfect for the occasion! like say you have a level 10 monster on the field, someone else has 2 level 5's. then they just happen to draw a card that allows him to tribute a monster then your monster is gone. Huh? Don't you think it's unfair that even though he had that card that he just HAPPENED to draw it? All I'm saying is the random system worked great in my other RP because it gave everyone an EQUAL chance. Because I just took those situations from EXPERIENCE! They actually happen and it annoys me that when I'm trying to be fair by only summoning level's 1-4 on my first turn, THEY JUST HAPPEN TO DRAW THE CARDS THAT SUMMON A LEVEL 8!!!!!! It's the only true way to be fair!

I understand that, and if the dueling is part of a tournament or something, or both people in a given duel want to randomise, then I don't have a problem with it (although I'd be disinclined to take part). I just feel it's rather restrictive, since it encourages people to pick decks based on the real metagame, or have custom cards that are very powerful that aren't at all situational. When I RP I prefer it to be more like the Anime (particularly when someone other than the main character duels), rather than simply playing the game with a few custom cards.

If someone is doing stuff like that all the time, then it's probably something that you'd need to talk to that person about. It's probably only really a problem with custom cards, where someone creates and uses a 'I win' card. With real cards, the effect is predetermined, so you can only do so much.

I can see the point of randomising (I was once hit by 2 OTKs in 2 consecutive turns), I just prefer it if that doesn't have to be the case. If it turns out that getting the ideal card all the time a major problem in this RP I'll reconsider it, but I don't see the need to enforce it here, at least not yet.
