"Ah, Shihiro," David repeated, cementing the name to memory. Such a name seemed oddly fitting for someone using Samurai monsters. It had the same, sort of warrior-like sound to it, but he kept this thought to himself. "I agree. Nice to meet you, and I hope to see more of you in days to come," he said, chuckling.

At the gym, he paid attention to the professor's statement and smirked to himself. Well, that's odd. This test is clearly only to put people at a disadvantage based on their deck, forcing them to use weaker cards rather than their Fusion or Synchro monsters. It also rewards students who use Ritual monsters. However... his eyes flicked around the room. Most duelists here probably use Fusion and Synchro monsters, including myself. The only duelist I suspect avoids them entirely would be Shihiro...Six Samurai swarm, but get no benefit from Synchros. Being unable to change our decks around means we have no chance to improve our decks to fulfill the conditions.

A confident smirk lit his face. But fortunately for me, a Synchro Summon is not required for me to win my games and I can do without them. So long as I don't Synchro, I'll pass the test with 100 points, and if I must win, I can Synchro once and still pass with 75. Winning and losing means nothing, but if I want to win, any duelist but Shihiro would be easy pickings. But where's the honor in avoiding the one most likely to beat me?

Once at the gym, Eria noticed the kids who were dueling before, but didn't have enough time to say anything, as the teacher began speaking. The point of the class was to... not synchro or fusion summon. As usual, she had some difficulty understanding certain key words. This time, Eria did not know what Nomi and Semi-Nomi monsters were, but if you were to give her a description, one would find she was already acquainted with various summoning restrictions.

Even so, Eria was happy to start dueling. After bringing out her duel disk and inserting her deck, she walked to the nearest classmate who didn't have a partner yet.

"Would you like to duel with me?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation.

((This can be anyone in the class, I suppose))

Shihiro nodded. "Ah, same with you." Moments later the class arrives at the gym where the Teacher gives the rules of the dueling test. "No synchro summoning or fusion summoning or points will be deducted... heh then I have absolutely no problem... Now who will be my opponent...?" He thought. He looks behind him where David stood and immediately senses that he'd be the perfect opponent. "Of course... why not...?"

He turns to face David "Hey, David-san, care to be my opponent this test?" He asks.

((I can't believe I'm up this late!))

Trixie turned to see a young girl with pink hair and red eyes come up to her. "Sure! I would love to!" However, Trixie was sweating bullets behind her facade of niceness. <F**K!!! I forgot to read the homework last night, which is why I asked Itsu about last night before she got sidetracked about her dreams! My entire deck revolves around Synchro Summoning my Genex monsters! What am I going to do? What am I going to do?!? What the f**k am I going to do?!?!?>

[s]"Wait, what?"
Minerva was surprised by Eria's request, but didn't care either way. "Umm....sure?" He had listened to Professor Jim but didn't get the point. Perhaps it was to reteach them of the older cards? Minerva's deck didn't involve any Fusion, Ritual or Synchro monsters, only Effects. He would pass without question, for sure. He knew everyone in his class, more or less, and everyone there was most likely an impostor. This was an impostor too. Everyone was. Maybe Jenny too. This one was definitely an impostor. But he would play along anyway. "When do we start again?"[/s]

((Dark Carly beat me to it, edited.))

"Thank you," Eria bowed to Trixie, just happy to be able to duel. She tried her best to stay in control; after all, there were multiple duels going on in close proximity to her. Who knows what will happen with her in the sensitive state she was in.

After activating her duel disk, she drew her starting five cards, and looked at Trixie without even looking at the cards she picked up. "Why don't you decide who goes first?" she asked her. She really didn't care who went first, and besides, if the opponent decides, they'd pick the option that would be most favorable to them. She had no idea why that was a good thing, but it somehow felt... right.

Even he recognizes I'll be a good opponent, David mused to himself. He smiled at Shihiro. "Yeah, I'd love to," he said, withdrawing his deck from its box at his hip and sliding his Duel Disk onto his arm. With a calm, fluid motion he slid his deck into the slot and the automatic shuffler did its thing, the counter rising to its default 4000.

As David backed away to make the appropriate amount of room, he smiled. "Good luck," he said in a polite, sportsman-like manner. "I assume you won't object if I take the first turn?" he asked, drawing his starting hand and gazing through it. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth and he drew his sixth card with dramatic vigor. "Then let's duel!"

LP: 4000

Peeking at the drawn card, David grinned. "For starters, I activate the Spell Card 'One For One'!" he said, sliding one card from his hand into the Spell and Trap card zone of his disk. "By discarding one Monster Card, I can Special Summon one level one monster from my deck. So I'll bid farewell to my Infernity Reloader and say hello to Infernity Mirage!"

A glowing light appeared and a transparent shaman appeared. (Lvl 1, 0/0)

"Next..." David paused. He didn't need Synchro monsters in this duel, so he had to alter a common strategy to compensate. Not that much compensation would be needed. "I activate Foolish Burial!" He slid one card from his deck and showed it to Shihiro. "I select one monster from my deck and place it straight into the graveyard. This time around, I choose Infernity Archfiend, but more on that later."

"I set 3 facedown cards," he continued, the hologram of three cards appearing behind the mirage-shaman. "Now, I activate Infernity Mirage's effect! When my hand is at 0, like it is now, I Tribute this to Special Summon 2 'Infernity' Monsters from my graveyard! Appear now! Infernity Reloader, Infernity Archfiend!"

The mirage glowed and vanished, replacing itself with a purple-robed demon with four eyes (Lvl 4, 1800/1200), and a creature that looked like a gun barrel. (Lvl 1, 900/0)

"When Infernity Archfiend is Special Summoned while my hand is at 0, I add one card from my deck with 'Infernity' in its name to my hand," David explained with a smile. "I choose to add Infernity Reloader!"

He paused a moment. "I have not yet Normal Summoned this round, so I summon Infernity Reloader!" A second gun-like monster appeared alongside the first. (Lvl 1, 900/0)

"At this moment, I activate the effect of Infernity Reloader #1!" David announced. The most recent monster rolled forward, its gun barrel spinning before pointing at Shihiro. "Once per turn, when my hand is at 0, I can draw 1 card. If it's a monster card, you take 200 points of Damage per level of that monster. If it is not a monster card, I take 500 points of damage."

David placed the tips of his fingers on the edge of his deck and drew. After a pause, during which the gun-like monster rotated its clip until a bullet entered the chamber, David glanced at the card.

"I drew the level 4 monster, Infernity Guardian," he stated, turning the card to face Shihiro. At a gesture, the gun monster fired four holographic bullets at Shihiro. "So you take 800 points of damage."

"My hand is no longer at 0," David noted. "But I'll rectify that with my facedown card: A Feather of the Phoenix. I discard one card from my hand..." he did so, smiling. "Then I pick one card from my graveyard, and place it at the top of my deck. I choose Infernity Guardian."

He pointed his finger at the other Infernity Reloader. "I activate that one's effect! I draw one card, and if it's a monster card, you take 200 points of damage for every level it has. Let's not bother with the suspense, we know what it is!" He drew, and the second Reloader emptied four holographic bullets. "Infernity Guardian is a level 4 monster, so you take 800 points of damage.

Not a bad start. I already dealt 1600 points of damage...so how will you fight, Shihiro?

"Turn End!"

Lance was happily taking a nap in a forest near the school when he noticed something on his nose, when it finely woke him up he saw it was a butterfly and stayed still until it finally flew away, he was pretty happy but he knew he'd get in trouble if he couldn't get to sleep that night so he decided to get up and stretch his legs.
Haseo had just finished a duel and decided he'd take a look around the campus, even though he had been there for a few months things still felt a little of about the place, it was probably the fact that his sister wasn't there so he just brushed it aside unless something more pressing happened and decided that he might as well head to the card shop to see if any new packs had come in.

Shihiro took the effect damage calmly with only light grunts. "dealing 1600 points of damage in one turn... this guy's pretty good." He thought with a grin. "Now it's my turn."

"My turn, draw!" He ripped the card from his hand and gave it a quick look. He smirks with approval for it was a card he could use. "I activate the spell card Cold Wave! Now for this turn and the next, neither of us can set nor activate spell or trap cards!" Suddenly, a frigged gust of wind blows onto the field and heads toward David's face-down cards."

"Well, that's unfortunate," David noted as his two facedowns became encased in a thin layer of frost, leaving his three monsters rather exposed. That could prove to be troublesome, with his Infernity cards strongly disliking cards in the hand. The inability to set spells or traps was sure to come back to bite him. At the same time, he reasoned, his opponent would not be able to set cards either.

"Go on," he said simply. "Good move so far."

Shihiro nodded. "Now, I summon The Six Samurai - Nisashi in attack position!" A samurai clad in green cybernetic armor wielding a beam bladed Katana in one hand and a shorter Wakizashi in the other (atk 1400). "Now that I have at least one Six Samurai monster on the field, I can special summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai!" The old Samurai with bionic arms and eye appears beside Nisashi with an intimidating stare (atk 2100). "Battle! Go Nisashi, attack his first Infernity Reloader!" With that, the Samurai dashes forward an charging the revolver shaped creature. He lifts his Katana up then swiftly slices the monster in two. "But he's not finished! He's accompanied by another Six Samurai monster, so that means he can attack a second time! Attack his second Reloader!" With that said, Nisashi comes around with his Wakizashi and slices the second Reloader in two. The Samurai then returns to his place on the field.

"Now Grandmaster, your turn! Attack Infernity Archfiend!" Upon his command the old bionic Samurai draws his Katana and charges forward and swiftly cuts down the fiendish four-eyed ghoul before jumping back to his respective place on the field. "Since I can't set any cards, I'll end my turn at that."

As each of his monsters shattered, David gritted his teeth as their hologram fragments blew apart around him. "Nicely done," David praised, smiling despite the disadvantage. All three of his monsters had been beaten so quickly, but that didn't mean the duel was over. On the contrary, he still had plenty of fight left in him, and still had an advantage in lifepoints.

"My turn!" he stated and looked at the drawn card. He paused for a moment, then placed a monster sideways upon his Disk. "I set one monster and...end my turn." Not much else he COULD do. As he waited for his opponent to take his turn, the frost covering his two set cards disappeared.

While Shihiro felt he had the superiority in terms of monsters at the moment, he was fully aware that the effect of Cold Wave had subsided and David's two face downs now posed a threat. "My turn, DRAW!" He rips the card from his deck and again is pleased by what he drew. However he adds the card to his hand and selects another. "I summon The Six Samurai - Irou in attack position!" A Samurai adorned in purple cybernetic armor along with tattered green cloths and a Visor covering his eyes. He wore no helmet for he had long black hair. He wielded an unusually long Katana over his shoulder (atk 1700). "Go, Irou, attack his face-down monster!" With that, Irou takes his Katana and puts by his side as he dashes forward toward the face-down. "And when Irou is accompanied by another Six Samurai, He can destroy a face down monster without flipping it face up!"

David watched as Irou struck the horizontal card on his field, shattering it apart as if it had never existed. He simply smiled and tapped a button on his Disk. "Nicely played, but I activate Call of the Haunted! This Trap lets me Special Summon one monster from my Graveyard in Attack Position and I choose my Infernity Archfiend!" With a burst of light, the robed demon appeared once more, growling and rolling its eyes. (Lvl 4, 1800/1200)

"Go on," he said, watching Shihiro carefully.

David smirked as his Archfiend shattered apart, dropping his lifepoints to 2800. "I activate Infernity Reflector! This Trap can only be activated by discarding my hand when an Infernity monster is destroyed in battle." He casually sent the card in his hand to the graveyard. "Then, I Special Summon the destroyed monster and you take 1000 points of damage!"

Rippling waves expanded outwards from the Trap, passing under Shihiro. Then, the robed fiend reappeared, growling. (Lvl 4, 1800/1200)

"Infernity Archfiend was Special Summoned when my hand was at 0. I add one 'Infernity' card from my deck to my hand. I choose Infernity Launcher," David continued casually. "Anything else for the turn?"

Shihiro grunted loudly as he took the thousand points of damage. He chuckled with excitement. "Not bad, but I've still got more!" He rips a card from his hand and shows it to David. "I activate the quick play spell Six Scrolls of the Samurai! I sacrifice 2 Six Samurai monsters..." He takes two monster cards, and inserts them into the graveyard. "I chose to sacrifice Grandamaster and Irou, In order to special summon Great Shogun Shien from my deck!" At that moment, a card slides out from his deck. He takes the card and shows it to David before placing it onto the field. Nisashi and Irou vanish into a fiery inferno and in their place, a large Samurai Warrior adorned in Crimson Red Armor and black cape, wielding a Katana in one hand emerges from the flames. "Now, Shien destroy his Infernity archfiend once and for all!" He commands. Shien lifts his katana over his head. The blade is then enveloped in flames. He then swings the blade down creating a crescent wave of fire which impacts the Archfiend. The Archfiend is then engulfed in a fiery explosion. "Now you're wide open! Nisashi Direct attack!" The green armored Samurai charges forward and strikes David. "Since I have no other Six Samurai on the field, He can't attack twice... I'll set two cards face down and end my turn."

(Your LP is 1400. You miswrote it the first time as 3400 after Turn 1, where you took 1600 damage.)

David grimaced as he took both attacks, his lifepoints dropping to a paltry 700. He hadn't expected that move at all, but was relieved that he was still in the game. He had a chance to make a comeback, but he'd have to make this move count.

"My turn!" he announced, drawing. Great Shogun Shien prevents me from activating more than one Spell or Trap card per turn, he thought. He looked at the card he drew. However...that might not matter. "I set a card and activate Infernity Launcher!"

Before him, a holographic card appeared, followed by the appearance of a cannon-like contraption. "I activate the effect of my Launcher! By sending it to the graveyard when my hand is at 0, I can Special Summon up to 2 'Infernity' monsters from my graveyard! I select Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Reloader!"

Seeing that Shihiro had no response to his move, David removed the two monsters from his grave and placed them both on the field. Once again, the robed fiend took the fiend, its eyes glaring towards the opponent. Beside it appeared the gun barrel monster, which rotated its gun chamber menacingly. (Lvl 4, 1800/1200), (Lvl 1, 900/0)

"Infernity Archfiend was Special Summoned while my hand was at 0! So I add one 'Infernity' card from my deck to my hand! I choose the Trap card Infernity Break!" David stated, revealing the trap and then throwing it swiftly into his Spell and Trap card zone, adding a second facedown hologram, this one sitting on the right side of the field.

"My hand is once again at 0! So I activate the effect of Infernity Reloader! Once per turn, I draw one card, and if it is a monster, you take 200 points of damage per level star. Otherwise, I take 500 damage." David smiled a little and then drew.

Infernity Reloader's chamber clicked as it reached a bullet. David peeked at the card and turned it around to face Shihiro. "Infernity Beetle is a level 2 monster. You take 400 points of damage!" At that word, Reloader released two shots from its clip at the opponent and David paused to ponder his move. He didn't have that many options as it was, but he would keep going, win or lose.

"I summon Infernity Beetle!" he announced, an insect creature appearing alongside the other two. (Lvl 2, 1200/0) "I activate its effect! When my hand is at 0, I can Tribute it to summon 2 Infernity Beetle from my deck!" The beetle on the field glowed and split into two identical Beetles. (Lvl 2, 1200/0) x2.

I have two tuner monsters. I could attempt a Synchro Summon, but to do so would lower my test score and not guarantee a victory, David reasoned. My opponent has 1000 Lifepoints left and some troublesome monsters. Great Shogun Shien not only limits my Spell and Trap use, but can negate its own destruction if it destroys a different Samurai, and he has one capable of attacking twice.

"Infernity Archfiend, attack his Nisashi!" David announced, pointing his finger towards the Samurai. Archfiend waved its arms and an odd symbol appeared above Nisashi's head, a large flaming hand emerging from the symbol and descending towards the Samurai.

David nodded. "I then end my turn," he said simply. He shot a look down to his two facedown cards. In terms of advantage, he's above me, even though he only has 600 LP left. He still had his Great Shogun and its power. During his turn's start, I could active my facedown Infernity Break and destroy it. With no Samurai out, he won't be able to negate its destruction, and that will free up my other facedown. But, I wouldn't be surprised if one of those cards is a card to summon a Samurai, at which point, the destruction will be negated and I'll be unable to use my other card. With Infernity Archfiend's ATK at 1800, and Shien at 2500, I'll take 700 points of damage and lose.

David smiled nevertheless. If he lost, it wouldn't really matter. His opponent had 2 facedowns as well, but they weren't limited by Shogun. That meant the advantage was clearly in the favor of his opponent. However, that didn't mean he couldn't still enjoy the duel.

"Best of luck, Shihiro. Your move."

Shihiro nodded. He felt that David accepted that he might lose and he was right. "It's been an honor david, my turn, Draw!" He rips the card from his deck and quickly looks at it. "I summon The Six Samurai - Zanji in attack position!" A Samurai in orange cybernetic armor wielding a beam bladed Naginata appears on the field beside Shien. "Now Shien, finish him off!" With that Shien charges forward and swings his blade and incinerates Infernity Archfiend, for the last time.

With Zanji on the field, activating Infernity Break would do nothing but act as a vain attempt to retaliate. However, I still have my other facedown card, David reasoned. "I activate Dimension Wall!" he said, his facedown card flipping up and displaying a warrior entering a dimensional portal, his sword reappearing behind himself. Did he really think I'd risk putting Infernity Archfiend in Attack Position against his Shogun without something to fight back with?

"This Trap card activates when you attack, and the Battle Damage dealt in this battle is inflicted to my opponent instead!" he explained. Behind Infernity Archfiend, a dimensional rift appeared between the monster and David, a similar portal appearing behind Shihiro. "The battle damage I'll take is 700, so the damage you take is 700!"
