Protheus just grinned, not caring anymore. [color=gray]"Yes, prince, but it is too late. Only the strong are spared by the wrath of the Twilight One."[/color] He said. He then stopped grinning, and watched the hopeless person. [color=gray]"Before I blast you into oblivion, let me tell you one thing: I dueled at half my fighting power. Even if your awakening has strengthened you, I doubt it can do you any good, because you awoke too late. Good-bye."[/color] And the black phoenix then flew over the rock platform, before diving down at it. Protheus himself didn't need to brace for this, but everyone else always had to, as he observed. The phoenix broke the barrier and blasted the rock platform into pieces. Shihiro and Protheus were separated by the super-ultra-mega dive, and both fell, but the realm was pretty much go-down fall-from-up, so neither would ever land.. The cards on the field were all destroyed by the phoenix, and as the phoenix circled the falling Shihiro, Protheus decided to leave with a flash.

The Twilight One circled Shihiro, observing him and everything he was doing as he fell endlessly. It observed that the human had a strong will, strong enough to distort its master's creation. It thought a bit, for it was, unlike every other servant of the master, intelligent. The Twilight One was a forgotten god, abandoned by the ones who once prayed to it, for they were lured to Christianity. In its grief of being forgotten, it forgot its own name, and its power wavered and weakened, and its feathers grew scorched, but it was still wise and powerful, even though it had fallen to serving under another, less omnipotent, person. It judged all those its master gave it. It had only spared one, and that was the master's brother, as it observed the person's memories. The Twilight One, for one, wasn't aware that these were fake memories, for all its omnipotence.
[b][i]Your power is surprisingly equal to the first I had spared. So, in that, I shall spare you, for you too have potential.[/i][/b] It said into Shihiro's mind, before sending him back to the exact location where he was standing right before he was taken by the master.

Itsu stopped for a moment to catch her breath. However, downtown was several miles away from the academy and the houses surrounding it, and usually took a bus to get to, but they had somehow gone 5 miles in the matter of a few minutes, like...like...Itsu was subconsciously manipulating time and space?
[color=#FF69B4]"I don't think...we have...a choice...we need...to save her..."[/color] Itsu wheezed.

The man drew his cards.

Haseo drew his card and looked over at his opponent with an angry face, [color=blue]Nice move now I can only put so many of my dark anima monsters into your Spell and Trap card zones, but that doesn't mean I don't have other moves, Now I'll summon, my dark Anime Rabbit and Synch for five in order to summon My Dak Anima - Magician, and because my Dark Anima - Rhino was sent from the field to the graveyard I can put him in your Spell and Trap card zone, now my Dark Anima - Magicians effect activates once per turn I can deal damage to you equal to the number of Dark Anima cards in your Spell and Trap card zone times 500, so that's 1000 damage, then I'll set 1 card and have him attack your Shining Angel.[/color]

Anything Protheus said now only made Shihiro more even more angry. "I'm not done with you Protheus!" He clapped his hands together and slowly pulled them apart creating a katana from in between. He grabs the Katana and charges Protheus. "I may have lost the duel but I won't go down without taking you with me!" But before he could reach Protheus, the Twilight One proceeded to drive down into to platform causing the whole to shatter into pieces. Shihiro fell endlessly into the darkness below. "DAMN YOU PROTHEUS!!!!" He swore as he fell. Falling endlessly into the darkness, he grits his teeth. [i]"Dammit...! I can't die! Not here!"[/i] Just then, a voice whispered in his mind and then all of a sudden, in a brilliant flash of light, he finds himself lying on a grassy surface. He quickly sits up and realizes he was back in Kugena city. "...I've returned...?" It was no wonder he felt a little confused by this... "Who's voice was that... and why did it save me?" Being unable to find the answer, he cast the question aside. He was now free from whatever altered his memories. He began to wonder if everyone else on this island had their memories altered as well. [i]"Itsu... David..."[/i] He begin thinking of all those he met on this island when suddenly he sensed an dark presence nearby. Now that his powers are back, he began to sense things. This was no where near as dark as Protheus, but it was similar. He turned in the direction of the darkness and dashes off down the sidewalk.

Haseo Looked pissed, [color=blue]Not like I have anything else I can do so I'll have to end my turn now, but coming my next turn I'm going to crush you.[/color] Haseo didn't let it shouw on his face but he was worried, he had means to take out that kind of strategy but he'd need to draw the right cards, it would be his luck that when he changed his deck he'd have to be up against a deck that was poison to his but he'd still be ready for most things his opponent could dish out.

As Shihiro turned a corner, he caught sight of Itsu along with two other girls: one he noticed was Eria, the other was someone he had yet to meet and he assumed it was just another friend of hers. He saw that they were out of breath like they had been running for some time. [i]"I wonder if they can tell something's going on as well"[/i] He cast aside all doubts he may have had and ran up to the Trio. "Itsu, Eria!" He called out to them. As he got closer to Eira, he noticed that there was something completely different about her. However he kept this and the fact that he had recovered his memories to himself and acted ignorant. "I saw you guys were out of breath like you'd been running pretty intensely. Is something wrong?" He asks.

"One of our classmates... has been kidnapped," Eria said to Shihiro, still catching her breath. A twinge shot through her head as she flashed back to the lab, when she was being shown pictures of people working for Itsu... and his picture was one of the ones shown. It didn't matter now, but it may matter in the future, when and if Shihiro is awakened. For now, she kept that thought in the back of her head.

"I do not know why... Trixie was kidnapped... but I heard that the kidnapper is waiting for something..." Eria said before standing upright. She was still breathing hard, but she was recovering, ready to continue running. "If he is...." Eria trailed off, not sure what would happen once the three of them get there.

Having listened to Eria explain the situation, "[i]I have a feeling whoever is responsible for kidnapping Trixie, is also the one who is emitting all this dark energy.[/i]" He thought. While it took him a moment, he remembered Trixie being a good friend of Itsu. His sense of justice kicked in and it became clear as to what he should do. "Then there's not much time. Who knows what this assailant want's with Trixie. I'll be more than willing to assist you three in this endeavor. Strength in numbers and all." He looked over at Itsu. He saw the distress on her face and gave her a confident smirk. "Time is of the essence, let's go save your friend, Itsu."

[Red Ryu]

Ryu decided that staying here all night was not the thing he should be doing for the moment. He should getting going home eventually, his house wasn't too far away from the academy just like the park so walking home wouldn't be a problem. Before coming down he heard a hustling in the bushes below, "Hmmm?" he said turning his head towards the ground. He grabbed his backpack that was on a branch and jumped down to the ground below.

A dog came out from the bushes and ran over to Ryu, halted in front of him and started sniffing his legs. "Oh, it's a dog." He looked around to see if anyone was around, "Hello?" Ryu said, "Hello?" He looked back and forth but no one gave a response. "Huh, wonder what kind of dog this is?" He bent down to take a look at the dog, it was a kind of mix between a Deerfield and a Akita kind of dog with a brown coat on top and a white underside. The dog has a colar but oddly enough there wasn't a tag of anysort.

"This is kinda odd..." he said as the dog started sniffing his face and proceeded to lick him. "Hey hey, I like you too!" He said with laughter. "Still you might belong to someone...might be odd for me to take you home with me but I guess it's better than leaving you here in the park." Ryu then proceeded to try and lead the dog to his house, something he could at least do for the owner was to take care of the dog for a bit until he found them.

"Thank you for your help," Eria said before taking off running, with her own two legs this time. Being dragged along did not feel good at all.

Was telling Shihiro the situation the best idea? Probably not, Eria thought in retrospect, as the scenarios played in her head ended with her horribly dead half the time, though no one would be able to tell her that someone dropping a vehicle on top of her out of thin air was practically impossible. In the end, she decided that since she's already traveling with two people likely to turn on her at the drop of the hat, a third wouldn't hurt.

Still, she wanted to say something to the others - anything. To Eria, Itsu, Shihiro, and Ruby were all merely acquaintances, nothing more. Shihiro was probably the closest person she could even consider a friend, and that's not much, either! The fact that she'd most likely would end up fighting them wore heavy on her heart, even with the knowledge that the experiences of this world is just a fabrication. She didn't have much time to dwell on that, since she spotted their destination - the town square - up ahead.

Eria slowed down a bit; she was not about to go rushing in there not knowing what was up ahead, and expected the others to do the same. "Be careful," she whispered as she slowly crept ahead to get a better look, to see exactly what was next to come.

Shihiro shook his head. "Don't sweat it. It's the least I could do." He said has he and the three girls ran off together. He looked to his right and saw Ruby running even though her arm was in a sling. He couldn't help but feel concerned for her. At the same time he felt something strange about her. It was faint but it was there however he couldn't make it out exactly. "I don't believe we've met." He said to her. "Name's Shihiro. Be careful with that arm. I'm sure you'd like to duel more than ever once it's better."

After a few minutes of running, he could tell they were coming up to where Trixie was being held for he felt the darkness more intensely as they came closer. They slowed to a walk when Eria warned them to be careful. Shihiro nodded in acknowledgment as they approached Crossing square. To their surprise, a duel was underway. He saw a very shady character with eye hidden by sunglasses and with a dark aura emitting from his body. It was apparent to Shihiro that he was emitting the darkness he had been feeling. He took his eyes of the shady duelist and saw his opponent: Another student whom he never met but did catch sight of briefly during the test earlier today. Something then inside him told him to look up and saw to his shock, a girl being suspended by chains on the top story of the City Hall. "Look! Up there!" He stretched his arm out and pointed up where Trixie was being suspended.

Protheus was back in his office, and as he was there, he realized that the first to awaken was [color=gray][i]Eria[/i][/color]. [i][color=gray]So much for the backup plan. Now what am I supposed to do? What's taking Bast so long, I wonder?[/color][/i] He thought.

The Dusk was still tailing Itsu and the others. It realized that it was way overdue but something super-interesting to report was happening, so interesting it would balance Minerva's anger into satisfaction.

Desna is about to draw his card when Itsu and gang run in. [color=#FF4500]"Well, well, well. Look who it is. The little poser."[/color]
Trixie spots Itsu run in, and cries out. [color=#0000CD]"Itsu, help!"[/color]
Itsu sees Trixie, hears her yell out, then looks at the man angrily. [color=#FF69B4]"Give her back!"[/color]
The man grins. [color=#FF4500]"I will, if you duel me."[/color]
[color=#FF69B4]"You're on!"[/color]
[color=#FF4500]"First, let me finish up with this neutral trash!"[/color]

Meanwhile, a familiar masked figure was standing on a nearby skyscraper ledge, watching the scene unfold.

As the duel between Densa and Haseo continued, another person walked where everyone else was. It was a Caucasian boy around sixteen, with hazel eyes, brown hair, a blue t-shirt, a pair of khaki cargo pants and a red shirt over top of the blue t-shirt. He had a deck box on his right side and a duel disk on his left wrist. He stopped when he got behind Itsu and the others. He whistled and said,"Hey! Haseo...I still have a score to settle with you!! Quit dueling that punk and duel me again!! YohYuki is not some pushover that you can just duel once and leave alone!!"

Eria jumped at the voice that came from behind her. She spun around to face the source of the voice, activating her duel disk in the process. She stared at the boy in front of her, examining him. She could not recall seeing him, neither in school, nor in the pictures of Protheus' enemies. However, he did know the student dueling Desna, so perhaps, he was a student, too? He does have the duel disk, after all, and is young enough.

"I apologize," Eria began, after regaining her composure. "But this is a dangerous situation. If you would like a duel, could you wait until this is resolved?" It was the best thing Eria could think up in order to calm the boy down, and to warn him of what was going on.

[Super Chaos Sonic]

Yoh looked at the girl and said,"Sorry, but I'm not one for waiting patiently for my turn." He ran his fingers through his brown hair and said to the girl that talked to him,"And by the way, I'm Yoh Yuki. After I'm done with duel with Haseo, maybe you could tell me your name and maybe we could go on a date sometime." He brought his hand to his deck box and opened it up. He pulled out his deck and then put it in his Duel Disk and activated it. He looked at Haseo and at the person he was dueling and said,"Yo! How about you two stop dueling and let me duel Haseo. I have unfinished business with him!"

Haseo looked over at Yuki with a cold gaze, his eyes were now back to their original orange/gold color that they hadn't seen before, [color=blue]Why in the world would I want to go up against somebody I already crushed while I'm in the middle of a duel, why don't you come back when you've actually learned how to play a combo.[/color] There seemed to be a dark aura around Haseo that didn't used to be there, he remembered his duel with Yuki and how he had only been able to win by breaking Yuki's combo at the right moment and using the opportunity to win. Yhose that had dueled or seen Haseo duel would notice that he was playing a completely different deck then normal with a completely different strategy along with the change to his personality he seemed like a completely different duelist.

Shihiro twirled around when he heard a male voice, completely unknown to him. It was just some student who he never met before... He kept yelling at Haseo and demeanding a rematch. Eria tried to convince him to stop, however it wasn't enough. Haseo's response to his demands would surely piss him off even more, so Shihiro took it upon himself and confronted the student. "This isn't exactly the right time for this." He said sternly and pointed up to where Trixie was dangling from the edge of the city hall. "If you haven't noticed, one of our classmates is in danger and we're trying to rescue her... However if you insist on making the situation worse than it already is, then I'll be forced to knock some sense into you." He brandished his duel disk in intimidation.

Desna was just about to draw his card when a kid broke his concentration. After a few seconds, he put the card in his hand, and temporarily placed his hand in his Extra Deck slot.
[color=#FF4500]"Oh, look. More pathetic Neutrals. You imbeciles just crawl out of the woodwork, don't you? Well, you derailed my train of thought, so I am going to give you a little reward!"[/color]
He reached back into his trenchcoat, and pulled out a enormous gun that couldn't logically be back there. The gun was rectangular, had a bunch of glowing bits, and ended in a very strange barrel. The man pointed the gun into the air, which started to glow more brightly, and, a few seconds later, he pulled the trigger.
The blast from the firing itself was utterly deafening as the shockwave destroyed every single window in the square and blew out the neon signs, showering any innocent bystanders with sparks. It also released a massive wave of pressure, which blew Haseo clear across the square, and everyone else was picked up and moved backwards several feet. The projectile rocketed up towards space, shredding through an airplane as it did so. Itsu managed to grab onto a lamppost to keep her ragtag chain of followers from being completely blown away, while Paradox merely created a forcefield around herself.

Desna's voice caught Shihiro's attention and turned back around to see what he was up to. To his horror he revealed a massive gun to which he raised up into the air and fired creating a deafening blast. The shock wave impacted everyone and everything. Itsu grabbed onto a lamp post as did Shihiro and they together held Ruby and Eria tightly, keeping them from blowing away. "What the hell is this guys... GRRRR?!?!?!?" He exclaimed while using all his strength to hold the group together.

The Dusk was unaffected by the blast, but it [i]was[/i] amused with the man. [font=Courier]Things are getting interesting.[/font] It thought blankly.

Meanwhile, Minerva was at the academy again. It was late at Kugena City, but that didn't matter. What did matter was one certain teacher of the academy, the one teaching about Machine-Type strategies, DJ Kaiba. The Dusk was late, and if so, something interesting must have happened, but that wouldn't matter until it finally reported back. The obvious-an-impostor DJ Kaiba was connected to Itsu's friend, in turn to Itsu, and in turn to that one called Jenny. He wondered what he was going to do, but he hadn't a second's chance before the teacher came from a corner. "Errr...Hi, Mr. Kaiba." He said.

Yoh was about to answer Shihiro's comment, but then was knocked back by the sheer force of the massive gun which was fired. Yoh quickly grabbed the nearest thing to him, which happened to be piece of bolted down furniture....a couch. [i]OK....as long as this holds...I'll be just fine.[/i] he said as he thought to himself. He looked at Shihiro and the others that were with him and asked,"Hey...other than the fact of this feeling like a hurricane, is everyone up there alright??" The fact of the way Yoh acted when he got there, he only showed a very serious side of him. Right now, he was actually worried that someone would get hurt, and he couldn't live with that.

DJ was in his classroom finishing and filing grades. His machine card class had many kids like him. Gifted mechanics and inventors. He liked teaching here at the academy. He heard his door open and close with a light slam. He heard someone call his name.
DJ turned around at the voice and smiled. "Yes? How may i help you?" he turned around to see a man he looked like a student and DJ was wondering what he could want. DJ was a bit jumpy since he began having weird dreams about memories that didnt exist.

Desna waited until everyone had settled and could hear before yelling out. [color=#FF4500]"This is a magnetic accelerator cannon, commonly dubbed in science-fiction as a 'linear gun' or a 'railgun'. Instead of using a small concentrated explosion as the basis for firing, it uses incredibly powerful electromagnets to propel a depleted uranium slug, in this case, the size of your head, at speeds of up to 30,000 miles an hour. For reference, the escape velocity, the speed you at least need to be going to leave the Earth's gravitational field, is a tad bit over 25,000 miles an hour. What I just fired escaped the earth's atmosphere."[/color] Desna then points the massive gun directly at Yoh, the weapon starting to hum louder and louder as it charged up to fire. [color=#FF4500]"Now, if I fire this straight at him, what do you think will happen?"[/color]
