From Itsu's Diary
Monday, August 16th, 2010

Dear Diary,
Today was my first day of my senior year here at the Academy! I'm so happy! Professor Jin gave us all a big speech about how important being a senior is, and the incoming students look excellent! I can't wait to duel them! Trixie and Ruby already planning for the major leagues, and I can't wait for all three of us to go pro!
However, something keeps nagging me. I keep seeing...something...out of the corner of my eye. I don't know what it is, but it keeps following me. I've learned to just ignore it, but I can't help but wonder...

Tuesday, October 4th, 2010

It was a typical early autumn morning in Kugena City. The sun was shining, the leaves were changing color, a steady wind was blowing from off of the ocean, keeping the citizens nice and cool, and in the suburbs of the city, an alarm was about to go off, which it eventually did, with great aplomb.
A young girl woke up with a start. She had maroon hair, golden eyes, and a set of light-blue pajamas with bunnies on them. She looked at the clock, and gasped. "I'm going to be late!" She yelled as she quickly got ready. Within minutes, the girl was out the door, now dressed in a schoolgirl uniform and carrying a backpack and a Duel Disk. As she ran through the narrow streets, she kept thinking that she saw something out of the corner of her eye, but she disregarded it.
Eventually, Itsu made it inside of a giant Duel Academy complex, and saw a friend of hers with blue hair and a blue theme to her.
"Trixie!" The girl exclaimed as she ran up to the other girl and gave her a hug. "Good morning!"

Shihiro stood in the midst of a vast battlefield. The field was ash black and ridden with bodies and armor and weapons. The sky was blood red "What is this...? Where am I...?" He scans around to see if anyone was there suddenly he turned his gaze to the sky and saw a large green symbol that he identified as the Six Samurai symbol shining brightly above. "What is this!?" Sudden the symbol grew brighter and brighter until everything was engulfed in it's blinding light.

Shihiro shot up from his bead with a loud gasp. He looked with eyes widened and panted heavily. "What... was that...? He asked himself under his breath. After a minute or two, he calmed his breathing and relaxed. He fell back onto his bead and tried to understand the dream he just had. "That dream... it felt so... real..." Suddenly his alarm went off. He stares at the clock for a second before reaching over and turns off the alarm. "Well... time for classes." He gets out of bed and moves to the window. He draws back the curtains allowing light from morning sun to flood his room. The light was blinding for a few seconds before his eyes adjusted and was able to see his side of the south side of Kugena island. His Dorm room was pretty well kept with not much decor. Shihiro stares out at the city. "It just doesn't feel right..." Shihiro realized time was short and quickly washed himself, adorned his his school uniform and grabbed his backpack which had his duel disk attached to the side. His deck was set on his dresser and quickly grabs it before exiting his room. minutes later he exited the dorm and joined other students headed for the D.A.D main building. These people...

Trixie turned to get hugged by her best friend. "Itsu!" Trixie was a little surprised, but she didn't mind. She had just been chatting with a student she had never seen before named Jenny or something.

Two women were watching these events unfold from nearby.
"You're lucky we have a ceasefire until sundown." The first started. She had a set of black and purple powered armor similar to Samus' armor. Her face was obscured by a purple glowing faceplate, but she did have a British accent.
"It does not matter. We are still hostile towards each other." The second, a young teenage girl with black and purple Gothic Lolita clothing, black hair, and purple eyes with the sclera blackened, replied. Strangely, she sounded like a younger version of the first.
"It does to me. We don't have to fight."
"Protheus is giving me training. He is helping me control my abilities."
"More like HE is controlling your powers."
"I feel like I can actually function normally."
"Says the girl with no emotions."
"You used to care about me." The second's voice was becoming a bit more strained as she tried not to express any emotions.
"Until you became the very thing I never wanted you to become: like me."
"I am nothing like you!" The girl generated a ball of shadows and prepared to fight the armored woman.
The armored woman simply left, leaving the girl silently crying.

Itsu and Trixie started chatting about their homework, and what they were going to do after school, until Itsu spotted Shihiro. "Hey! Shihiro!" Itsu cried out as she ran up to the youth. "Wanna duel? I think we have enough time before class."

The girl that Trixie had been talking to earlier, Jenny, decided to go on a walk and explore the rest of the campus. There was something about Itsu that Jenny couldn't put her finger on, but she dismissed it.

Shihiro's train of thought was broken by the sound of Itsu's voice. He looks to his right and sees her along with her friend. He only met her briefly during the welcoming ceremony, yet he enjoyed her company.

He grinned at her request. He planned to duel her eventually. "Sure, I could use a good duel to start the day." He answered as he took his duel disk off from his back pack and strapped it to arm. He then grabs his deck and loads it into the slot which then triggered the Duel Disk to activate. "plus I think dueling will bring me closer to answers I seek."

"I'll let you decide who goes first, Itsu, I don't mind."

"Alright! I'll go first, and I draw!"
Itsu drew her card, and jumped fistpumped. "Yes! I will Normal Summon Glory Hero - Sachiel!"
A beautiful tribal warrior with angel wings and a halo appeared. She had on a corset made of bones that had a red sphere on her upper chest, a pair of knife blades made from giant teeth, a bony skirt, and a giant bird-like mask on her back. She also had white-blonde hair and grey eyes. (600 ATK)

"Now I activate Double Summon, allowing me to Normal Summon again, and this time, I choose Glory Hero - Shamshel!"
Another angel appeared, but she had long black hair and red eyes. Her outfit was insectoid, but she had the same red sphere. On her left arm, she carried a massive shield with two false eyes, and she carried a fiery cat o' nine tails in her right hand. (800 ATK)

The day began like any other. It was a sunny early morning - the perfect weather for walking, one may say. And Eria did indeed walk to the academy. She paid no heed to the people around her, since getting to school was her number one priority. Not that she hurried; she left early enough that she could take her time and still make it before classes start. She even thought about stopping by the card shop, but decided against it, since she would want enough time to browse at her leisure.

Once at the school, Eria felt something in the air. It was... a duel! Although she only started playing Duel Monsters at the urging of her parents, she dedicated herself to the game by her own choice. Soon the feeling passed, and her head slumped over a bit. She knew whatever Duel she felt was over. Eria always could sense whenever a Duel was in progress. It made her feel good and filled her with energy. Especially whenever she is one of the Duelists. And the feeling she gets when she wins... there is nothing like it in world! Still, Eria kept most of this to herself, and controlled her urge to duel. Besides, watching duels help her to win as well.

As she continued walking to her assigned class, she overheard something. It sounded like someone saying "I'll let you decide who goes first, Itsu, I don't mind." She didn't feel a Duel starting but if those words were any indication, one was starting soon. She made her way over and watched the duel between Itsu and Shihiro, enjoying every second of it.

Shihiro nodded. "My turn, draw!" He ripped a card from th top of his deck and gave it a quick look before adding it to his hand. He selects another card. "First I activate the continuous spell card Gateway of the Six!" He inserts the card into a Magic/Trap card slot and a hologram of the card appears onto the field.
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Gateway_of_the_Six

"Next I activate the spell card Reasoning!" He plays the card and a hologram of the spell apears overhead. "Here's how it works: You must pick a number between 1 and 12, then I discard cards off the top of my deck until I draw a summon-able monster. If the monster I drew is a level other than the number you chose, I can special summon it. However if it's a monster whose level is the same as the number you chose, it's discarded with the rest."

Another night, another dream...segueways into the morning and another class. This was the typical routine, but one that David Lux had gotten adjusted to since he started at the Academy. One might say he even enjoyed it. His mind was the type that liked to be focused on one thing or another, and excessive downtime was a mild hinderance to whatever he intended to accomplish.

On this particular morning, however, he found himself meandering around with nothing to do. That was his fault for waking up too early this morning and heading to school early. He had considered stopping off for something to eat, but somehow in his wandering he had gotten to the school without stopping. Eh, that just meant he'd have a granola bar or something instead. As he munched on one (he always carried at least two in his backpack, just in case), he continued his aimless walking through the main building. He could see some people dueling, and he brightened. Maybe there was a benefit to his morning routine getting screwed up somewhere.

He studied the game before him. One player was using Six Samurai, if the "Gateway of the Six" continuous spell was any indication. He had never heard of anyone who had ever played it in a non-Samurai deck. The other player's deck was entirely unfamiliar to him, yet he didn't let that trouble him. He had long ago learned most players had decks he had never seen.

A number of other people were watching the duel and he briefly contemplated offering a challenge of his own to one of them, but shrugged. They might prefer to just watch.

Yazorki was sitting down under a tree near the Main Building. He pulled his Duel Disk out of his backpack placed it on his arm. But it was incomplete. He pulled out other parts. He pressed a button in the middle of the Duel Disk. Metal bars shot out of it. Yazorki placed the pieces in their proper spots. he stood up and walked towards the Main Building. He walked in and wandered around a bit. Until he saw a nearby duel. He walked up beside David. He pressed a button in the middle of the Blue Diamond Design. A blue screen popped up and details of the duel appeared on it. He read the details of how the duel had gone thus far. He wasn't even mildly impressed. He pressed the button again and the screen disappeared. He crossed his arms and continued to watch the Duel.

Itsu wondered, until she got an idea. "That's easy! I choose Level 11! There are only a handful of Level 11 cards in existence, and none of them can be Special Summoned by your card effect! You played Gate of the Six Samurai, so you have a Six Samurai Deck. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that you will have a Six Samurai monster on that Level!"

Jenny checked on the status of her ship, which was still working, then kept on walking. She spotted Tori watching the student body, but she ignored her, like she was supposed to.

"Eleven?" David repeated, raising an eyebrow. "That's not..." he stopped, trying to figure out whether that duelist had simply made a mistake, misunderstood Reasoning's effect, or had done that on purpose. He shrugged at last and stepped to the side when Yazorki came up beside him, not wanting to be in the other spectator's way of watching the duel. He didn't really pay him much attention, however, more focused on the duel before him and Itsu's peculiar decision. By choosing 11, she makes it guaranteed that her opponent will summon a monster. I don't know anything about her deck or cards, so that could be part of a strategy.

His gaze flicked to the samurai duelist. So, what will you get from this? he wondered.

Ryu had already been at the out and about. For now he was sitting in a tree just relaxing, his left leg hanging down from a branch while his back rested on the trunk of the tree. His arms folded behind his head. He was kinda bored, wanting to do something, even if he had to get to class soon. He let out a sigh and knew he even had to go to class, even if it wasn't to his liking at first. He turned to his left and jumped out of the tree, once on the ground he reached for the ground and grabbed his backpack with a basic duel disk on the back. The academy wasn't far, just a short distance away from the tree he was relaxing in. He took a deep breath and started walking towards school. He looked around the city near the academy, sure enough it was pretty simple, kinda boring to him, but never the less the city had some fun things to do, just not in the morning when he had to go to school.

It wasn't a long walk but sure enough he had reached the academy building, he walked inside only to see a duel being done. This immediately caught his interest like a dog that had seen someone throw a tennis ball. He kept a close watch on it, liking to watch a duel take place.

~

Wendy was walking around the academy building until she noticed the duel talking place. She walked over around the duel and asked herself "Why are they dueling right now? It's pretty early and school will start soon." she just looked on at it and said, "I don't understand people, doing something like this right now."

Shihiro blinked. "What a silly girl..." he thought. "Ok then, first card, draw!" He drew the card and a grin appeared on his face. "I special summon the level three The Six Samurai - Yaichi in Defense position!" He slaps the card onto the disk. A Samurai adorned in cybernetic yellow neon striped armor appears onto the field. He wielded a bow that appeared to have beam of energy for a string. He carried a quiver full of arrow behind his waist. He knelt down one one knee to show he was in defense. (def 800). Just after his summon, two glowing orbs appear on the Gateway of the Six spell card. "That makes two counters..." He thought.

"Next I summon The Six Samurai - Zanji! in attack position!" A Samurai with similar armor but with orange neon stripes instead and his weapon of choice was a beam bladed Naginata. He twirled his Naginata above his head before taking his stance showing he was poised for attack. Once again the continuous spell card manifested two more orbs of light and were added to the other two.

"That makes four... but first..." He thought. "Now I activate the effect of Yaichi! When he is accompanied by another Six Samurai warrior, I can destroy one face down spell or trap card on the field!" As he said this, Yaichi grabs an Arrow from his quiver and loads it onto his bow and aims for Itsu's face-down card. "Now Yaichi, Fire!" upon his command he pulls the string of energy back and releases the arrow. The arrow turns into a beam of energy as it flew in midair before it reached the face-down card.

Itsu flipped up her Trap Card showing a duelist being attacked by a pair of monsters as a rainbow-colored barrier surrounded him. "I activate Rainbow Life!" A similar barrier encircled Itsu and her monsters. "Now any damage I take this turn will heal me instead!" Her Trap was destroyed, but the barrier still stood.

Jenny knew that she was supposed to ignore the little things that were off, but she could easily resist due to her not being entirely human. That, and she had had training on how to resist the strange latent psychic field repressing people's true memories. However, Jenny knew that something truly shocking, something that they couldn't just turn away from, would be enough to get them to remember the truth. Sadly, Jenny knew what would happen if such an event occurred, so she couldn't put herself through it.

Protheus crossed his arms. He was standing inside the academy, and was eying others. Some were familiar, others weren't, and those who were familiar acted weird, but that was because of....well, he knew what, but not why. Why he was ever given this destiny, he didn't know. He had brought his son into the place, although nobody was aware that kid standing right there was his son. Problems grew greatly, yet half of them were unimportant to him. He was the first to get to the place. Every now and then someone would notice his deep, dark eyes which was the only sign of his vast millennial years of knowledge and experience, and then they would turn away from the stress and headaches it generated, although there were those that didn't and could resist. Those were the strong-willed ones, and those were the ones he needed. Right after this little campaign, he would have enough power to, well, that was a secret. "Hmph, to only think." He muttered as his eyes flickered from place to place.

Shihiro was surprised by such a trap card. "I see... so that's why she let me swarm the field... could have made it less obvious heh..." He thought with a smirk. "Alright then, I activate the effect of Gateway of the Six! I remove 4 Bushido counters to add a Six Samurai monster from my deck to my hand!" Shihiro removes his deck then opens it like a fan and selects one card from it before returning it to the slot. The duel disks then triggered an auto shuffle and shuffled his deck. He shows the card to Itsu. "The card I chose was Grandmaster of the Six Samurai! And since I have more than enough Six Samurai monsters on the field I can special summon him!" A tall elderly looking Samurai with long silver hair and beard with a laser eye patch appeared onto the field. Both his arms appeared to be bionic like with no upper body armor like the others. He stood their with an intimidating stare with his hands rested on his Katana like a cane.

"Battle! Go Zanji, attack Glory Hero- Shamshel!" Upon his command, Zanji dashes forward then launches into the air. He twirls his Naginata above his head before bringing it down onto the fairy monster making a swift clean cut.

Itsu flinched at the attack, but she wasn't startled in the least. "Alright, I just gained 1000 Life Points. Any other attacks? They will just be pointless."

As Protheus was contemplating the current status, a figure jumped into Protheus' window. She had unruly pink mane-like hair, black fur, red eyes with yellow sclera, a lion-like tail, and a golden Egyptian-themed outfit. She knelt down in front of Protheus and bowed her head in respect. "You wished to see me, my lord?" The beast-woman asked her master.

Protheus wasn't surprised, yet kind of annoyed. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." He said. "But that doesn't matter. I ask of you, do you know what Itsu is doing at this moment? I'm curious." And as he said this, he noticed his son slip away from his sight of view.

Minerva went around. He knew everyone wasn't who they were, he just somehow knew it. Nothing was real, this was all a dream...No, no, it wasn't a dream. Everything was real, it was just that everyone was just an impostor, with the real themselves locked away in some deep, dark, cold place. The truth was the spiritual key, and only a real one of themselves knew what it was. But what was it, hidden among the shadows of the impostors? Look at those two, for example, playing Duel Monsters like they enjoy it. He knew they were just acting, everyone was just acting, except him, and any other possible real one. Was everyone really an impostor? Maybe it was just his mind going insane, no, that's stupid. He just didn't know what to think, that was all.

"Itsu is currently dueling against Shihiro, one of the opposing faction. It appears to be a friendly duel, not one of argument, but I do have something to report: the Academy is getting a transfer student. SHE has decided to rear her head in this business once again: The Time Lady."

Jenny continued to walk, even surveying the schoolyard, until she accidentally bumped into another student. He had black hair, a long white scarf, and a very professional uniform, though no student had the same uniform. Jenny figured that to be another byproduct of this universe. But Jenny recognized who he was, and she momentarily panicked before assuming her normal happy-go-lucky personality. "Sorry 'bout that, Guv'nor!" She apologized, helping Minvera get his things together. "I just recently transferred here from jolly old England! You know? British Isles? UK? The place with the big clocktower and the queen?"

Eria watched the back and forth between the two students, and found it interesting that Itsu decided to let Shihiro swarm the field like that. And although she was enjoying watching the duel, she suddenly had the urge to play, herself. Recently, the urges have been getting stronger, but she mostly ignored them, content with just watching this Duel for now. After all, if she started now, she may not be able to get to class on time!

Around the two duelists were layers of green mist that flowed out of them and their cards. What? Eria thought, and blinked. Just like that, the scene returned to normal. She was familiar with the green mist; the Solid Vision renders the Mana Counters her decks use as ambient green mist around the monsters and cards. But around the duelists? She shook her head and quickly began to walk away from the duel, obviously not feeling well.

As she did so she bumped into Ryu, who was also watching the duel. She could have continued on, but instead stopped, bowing her head. "I'm sorry for bumping into you... excuse me," Eria said, before scampering off to her first class.

Minerva blinked once and [s]lost the game[/s] was confused. "Errr.....I think so?" He said, and for a moment everything in his mind became normal. "I'm Minerva. I came from Antarctica a few years ago." And with that, his paranoia broke again. Another impostor. She's just acting, like everyone I met. Impostor, you cannot fool me! But he still retained his own 'act'. "What's your name?"

"What. Well, that doesn't affect anything. Just because a third shark appears doesn't mean the bigger sharks will stop battling."

Jenny was actually a bit amazed. "Antarctica! Wow! How was that like? Did you run into any Cybermen?" Jenny accidentally let that one slip, but she hoped he didn't catch that.

"Jenny is a wild card, and a very powerful wild card to boot. It is very hard to kill her, and even harder to control her. She already knows our weaknesses and strengths, and she could easily tip the tenuous balance of power to anyone's favor. Did I mention that she can also go forwards and backwards through time, and might be the only one who can get out of here?"

"Well, whatever she does, she can't...." He was going to say 'Destroy me', but then realized that this would be only him, and that would cause others' loyalty to waver. "....stop us."

Minerva blinked for another moment, and that last statement somewhat furthered his paranoia and he took it as something that almost confirmed his suspicions that everyone else is an impostor. "It was cold for Arabs." He said. Although he didn't look like an Arab at all. "And errr......what do you mean by cybermen? It's too cold for anything more advanced than a TV to work, especially in winter. I think Protheus and I used to have a sister, but she died at birth from the cold."
