Eru was running towards the guild, knowing he was late. Ugh, I cannot believe I allowed myself to oversleep. I have Abjuration class first period, and he had memorized where all his classes were, so he dashed to the classroom, thankfully not getting scolded for running in the halls. He arrived at the door, panting. He looked at a clock, seeing the time as 8:17. Okay, I just have to compose myself. Eru calmed his breathing and entered the classroom. "Sorry that I'm late teacher, and I hate to interrupt something, to be honest I overslept. Have I missed anything?"

Captain Jaeger stood at the helm as the ships dueled, shooting cannonballs back and forth. The battle seemed to be going in Jaeger's favor, but Jaeger wasn't happy with it. He didn't want to damage the ship but to kill its men for the supplys they'd been carrying. Seeing his chance as the ships neared each other, Jaeger quickly called for his lieutenant to take the wheel and Jaeger drew his favorite weapon, Sharkshooter. Drawing upon his many practice sessions with the gunblade, Jaeger proceeded to take out convoymembers scattering around the deck one by one. Jaeger had shot his 5th man when he suddenly ducked to avoid an overhead lightning bolt. Jaeger looked to find the man who'd cast it, but found no one. Quickly, Jaeger decided to give the order, "Board the ship!! Take them all out!!". Grabbing a few ropes from the ship, Jaeger swung on-board the convoy with quite a few of his other men. The battle became a swirling torrent of swords and guns that echoed around the deck. Jaeger parryed and killed several of the convoymen around the ship while using precise shooting from Sharkshooter to immediately turn the tide in his favor. As Jaeger moved swiftly around the deck, a fire ball suddenly rushed right in front of him, missing by inches and flying off the ship. This time, Jaeger saw the man who'd cast it, he was in a white convoyman's outfit with blonde hair and his right hand outstretched. Jaeger smiled a little bit and sent 2 bullets from Sharkshooter flying at the young mage. He flung to the left and lunged at Jaeger with a sword in hand. Jaeger parried and pushed him away as they locked swords and shot 2 bullets at the mage. When the man reached ground after being pushed away, he quickly fell to the ground to avoid Jaeger's bullets and stood up in just in time to parry an overhand from Jaeger as Sharkshooter came flowing down from over Jaeger's head.

Jaeger jumped away from the overhead swing and surveyed the situation while the man took time to recover and fall back. During the course of Jaeger's battle with the man, things had turned into a stalemate between the 2 ships. Jaeger counted that he had about half of the crewmen that he'd started with. The convoy looked to have a little more than he did, but that could be easily remedied. Generously giving the man that he'd been fighting for the last few minutes a breather, he gripped the handle of Sharkshooter, he quickly reloaded the barrel that he'd emptied and began firing frighteningly accurate shots at the loose convoymembers. He'd emptied his five shots when the man had regained his breath and dug into his well pool again to fire off several lightning bolts at Jaeger. Jaeger was barely able to dodge as the spells flew either to high or slightly to his left. Jaeger grabbed and inserted the last reload that he carried with him before the man could fire off another blasted spell. Loosing 2 bullets at some other loose convoy members, he turned and lunged at the man. Jaeger had luckily caught him just as his right hand had been up for another spell. He cancelled the spell and grabbed his blade just in time to parry Jaeger's thrust to his lower-ribs. The sword fight tarried back and forth between the two with Jaeger jumping and thrusting as the man tried continuously to loose a spell at close range. After a few minutes, Jaeger and the man stood a few meters from each other, sweating heavily from the combat that had eclipsed their minds. Jaeger raised his gun to fire his last bullet when he looked around at the dock of the ship. He'd begun with 30 men: he now had 10. The convoy had about 7 of its men left, including the man that had given Jaeger so much trouble. Jaeger spoke through his parched mouth in a gasping voice, "Its over...... you've lost. Surrender........ and you might.....live. We might even allow you to continue ....... with a few of your supplies left." Jaeger finished and looked at the man in front of him. The man was looking at the scene in the same sense that Jaeger was: it was nearly hopeless. "Fine then, what are your terms?" Jaeger heard the man finish and spoke, "We want 1/2 of the supplies you carry as well as a percentage of the funds in your treasury." Jaeger finished and looked at the man as he spoke, "Follow me."

"Awesome! Ok the first thing we'll to today is work on b-" Once again Izaria was inturrupted but this time it was by someone who was late to the class. "O-oh....Well it's alright that you're late, it is the first day after all." She smiled, "Everyone was just introducing themselves. Why don't you come up here so we can get started. Just say your name and what you came here to study." Izaria giggled a bit. "Easy right?" Izaria turned around and went to the large desk in the teachers area, and started fumbling in one of the draws. "Go a head and introduce yourself I'm listening. I just need....To find something..." She mumbled the last part to herself.

The next few minutes were Jaeger's favorite part of a siege, the haggling. Oh how he loved how the man mentally squirmed as he tried to find reasons to pay Jaeger less, but was sadly rebutted with a cleverer fact from Jaeger. Jaeger had to hand it to the man though, he was not only good at fighting but haggling as well. He was even able to make Jaeger sweat a little bit when he threatened him with continueing the battle and causing Jaeger to lose more men and thus be unable to sail his ship, but Jaeger held on with the counter-threat of them being completely wiped out and no goods or even a message to the island that the ship had been ambushed and telling more pirates about the route that they'd taken. It was a great half hour, but it was eventually settled with Jaeger taking 80% of the total funds in the ships treasury box. When the goods were accounted for, the crew took 3/4 of the meat, 1/2 of the wine, and a small portion of a few of the other commodities they'd been carrying. 80% of the treasury box ended up being about 1100 £. Jaeger and the rest of the crew then loaded the supplies on-board the ship as the injured convoymen looked on with limbs wrapped in cloth. As he loaded the last of the supplies onto the rest of the battered ship, Jaeger saw one of the convoymen sitting down against the side of the deck with a look of utter hatred etched into his face. Deciding to send one final message before they departed, Jaeger quickly thrusted his sword through the young man's heart. The rest of the convoy looked on in utter shock as he pulled the blade from the man's chest and swiftly jumped onto his his ship as it started pulling away from the stunned convoy.

Jaeger looked forward before he turned around to see how the convoy had taken the deed. Enraged by Jaeger's unprovoked attack, the same man that had nearly killed Jaeger sent a bolt of lightning flying straight at Jaeger. Jaeger side-stepped before the lightning could reach him and walked into the cabin as the ship soon became out of reach and impossible for the other ship to catch them before they would be out of sight.

[OOC: I'm assuming merchant convoy's are fairly wealthy, but I have no idea what is usually considered a "above average sum of money" so I'm going to guess. If I'm wrong or politically incorrect, let me know.]

Bastian looked down his gunblade and saw the slightly jagged edge it had gained after years of use. He polished it and was glad to see that it still reflected his image. He turned his chair and looked out to his fleet of airships. He looked closer and saw an orange glow coming from one of the ships. He took his telescope and saw that a mutiny was taking place and it was being led by the ship's captain. He sheathed his gunblade and walked out of his quarters. "Turn the ship around! We have to stop that mutiny from happening." The ship turned and Bastian walked down to one of the cannons. He took his telescope and looked again, aiming the cannon towards his target, the captain of that vessel. He placed his foot on top of the cannon and fired. The captain fought on, trying to kill as many as he could and take down his lord Bastian. He stabbed a man through the chest and looked at him with his bloodthirsty eyes as the shot from the cannon destroyed his neck. Bastian stood atop the cannon looking down the telescope and upon seeing the hit he said to himself, "Bulls-eye." then retreated to his quarters to continue polishing his sword.

Eru was glad that he hadn't run into trouble with the teacher. She seemed nice enough, too. Eru walked to the front of the class. "Greetings, I am Eru Maranwe, and I am training to become a paladin. Nice to meet you all." Eru walked to the front row of desks and took a seat.

OoC: We don't have our bonded weapons with us during class, right? Because that would be strange, walking around what is supposed to be a school with a halberd strapped to one's back. Sure hope it's not a felony like real life...

And sorry about the short post, it's just an introduction after all.

"Thank you Mr. Maranwe. You may take your seat." Izaria said still not looking at him, and so she was unaware that he had already sat down. She hadf moved from the top draw to one of the bottom draws so now she was hidden from view except for the top of her head. "Where the hell is it...." Izaria mumbled fustraitingly to herself before finally standing up. "I must've left it in my room." With a light shrug she made her way back to the front of the room. "Alright for those of you who were late I am Izaria, and this is my familiar Tonaki. If you hadn't already guess by now, I am a Warder which is what I studied when I was a student. In this class you will learn containment spells, shield spells, banishing spells, and attack spells that are unique to this arte. Those are just a few of the things that I will be teaching you."

Maharu was listening intently to everything the teacher was saying, especially about what they would learn. She knew that Abjuration would be an important arte to learn but she hadn't realized just how important. There were a lot of things that any well trained mage would need to know. How could one person even remember all of that stuff? "I guess I'll soon find out." She whispered to herself.

"Alright who would like to come up here and demonstrait anything you know about Abjuration. It could be a shield, enhancement spell whatever you want. Just come to the front say what you're going to do and then do it. I only need one personj." She smiled, "Any takers? And if you guys take to long this time I will chose someone to come up."

Maura groaned silently and slipped low into her chair. She hated catching people's attention and she did not want to go up in front of the class. She didn't even need this class that much. She was aspiring to be an Alchemist, not a Warder, not a Paladin, not a Pirate Mage, and most certainly not a Necromancer. She disliked both Pirate Mages and Necromancers. She slighly admired Paladins but thats all. Her interests were in Transmutation and Conjuration. Maura began to stare determinedly into her lap. She knew that making eye contract with the teacher would increase her chance of being force picked. She bit her lower lip and let her hand slither into her pocket. Once inside, it began fumbling with a rather cold steel heart that had an emerald at the center and was attached to a silver necklace. The item that she had Arcanely bound to herself.

Armond stood, he knew he would regret this, but it had to be done, the teacher would most likely have them all show something they could do, so why not get it over now, he walked to the front again, and looking to the teacher he said "I will go first." then he turned back to the class, he grabbed hold of his cape and pulled it off revealing his upper arms that were covered in strange marking and tattoos, Armond breathed deeply finding his center then he held out his arms, then he crossed his arms over his chest, and before casting his spell he spoke breafly and quickly "Alright what would you like to see, i have learned quite a few protection spells." Armond's eyes closed waiting for a responce from the teacher, if he had to show his power he would let the teacher judge it by asking him to cast any spell she could think of whether it be simple or very complex

Izaria waited for a few minutes as she allowed the kids to take the oppertunity to come forward. She saw some of the kids figit, and that Maura girl dip low into her seat. The teacher was becoming a bit impaitent and was about to call on Maura, but the young boy, Armond, stood up silently voulenteering. She clapped her hands together smiling widely.

Maharu sighed in reliefe that somebody had went up. She wasn't sure what she would do if she went first. It wasn't that she was scared to go up, she just didn't want to go first. When the boy Armond stepped up it was a surprise that he chose to get tattos as his arcane bond. I hard that's one of the hardest bond to have....And he's young...Why would he chose something like that?

Izaria's eyes widened a bit in surprise at the tattos. "Interesting choice for an arcane bond. I haven't seen too many students with that. Normally its either a familiar or an item." Her head shot towards Armond at his question. "You want me to chose? Alright Mr. Dorien, give me a clean and simple fire protection charm. I'll advise you not to take it down until I tell you too."

Armond smirked as he saw a student and the teacher suprised by his markings "Yes these markings are harder to control and use, but for one who's power must be cotroled with no chance of it escaping, then sealing it away while creating an arcane bond at the same time is the best way to go. That and it creates a challenge to the user allowing him or her reach a greater level of magic." Armond close his eyes and focused, and the markings began to glow a dark purple color, but something was wrong with one of his tattoos on his right arm, it was not glowing at all, but Izaria would know it was not a arcane bonded tattoo, but a very strong sealing spell. Armond continued with casting the spell quickly spreading his arms again, and as he did the protection charm appeared infront of him taking on the same ominous purple glow. Armond stood perfectly still keeping his breathing in balance, he was in a state of perrfect concentration

Maharu watched in fasination as Armond used the spell. His tattos seemed to glow as he begun giving off a purple glow, except for one spot, which confused the young student greatly. She had read up on the arcane bond 'Marking', but she had never seen on before. Both her parents had familiars, and reading about something and seeing it first hand are two totally different things. Meanwhile, Izaria was watching a smile on her face. He was doing well, even better than she had initially expected him to. Even though a fire charm is a basic technique it is still on of the harder ones. The only problem she saw was how concentraited he was. Right now that wouldn't be much of an issue since they are in class, but in a fight against multiple people you'll have to be able to to more than one spell at a time.

Needing to have so much concentraition on one spell could be fatal. Izaria kept her eyes trained on Armond while channelling her well's energy into her familiar. "Now Tonaki." Tonaki mewed before jumping into the air, over Armond and his barrier. The black rings around his tail started to glow a bright red, and he opened his small mouth. A split second later fire rained down onto Armond covering the entire shield giving the empression of a sphere of fire, and because the room had a charm on it the wood wasn't being burnt.

"How long can you keep that up!" Izaria laughed a bit, "Cause I can go all day!"

Armond smiled as the familiar jumped at him, the marking glew brighter and so did the shield, Armond held his concentration but spoke breefly "If you haven't noticed yet, I'm not even at full strength, there is a seal on my arm that resricts the amount of power I can force out, but this seal restricts me to the point were I can only cast one spell, I shall explain once we're done." Armond's shield held against the fireholding it back quite well, but if it were to get to intense Armond would not be able to bring forth enough power to hold it off, the seal seemed to be giving off a faint red glow as Armond began to up the power on the charm

Finally! Twig thought. Something is finally happening, but unfortunately, he already knows how to do a fire shield. He had to learn the fire protection spell early since Trotle, his familiar, had a plant-like body. So he still wasn't learning anything. Twig sighed. He was getting bored. Maybe a little show might balance the mood in the room... He dug around his small green bag. He took a small golden plant seed, and threw it in between Izaria and the guy named Armond. It was just a magical seed used to distract an enemy or someone chasing you, but most kids use it for pranks. All you need was the seed, and some fire. As soon as the fire touches the seed, it explodes into a shower of golden shining leaves. No one should get hurt. It was only fun and games, but Twig just found out he threw the wrong seed. The Leafshine Seed was in his left palm. He had thrown the Bomb Seed. It's name pretty much speaks for itself.

"Uh oh..."

He had three seconds to think of a spell that would save Izaria and Armond. Now this is an Abjuration class challenge. Twig jumped towards the Bomb Seed which is about to explode in just one second, but he was ready with another protection spell....

Izaria only laughed at Armond's responce still keeping her attack going. "We'll see about that Mr. Dorien." She had to admit the kid had spunk and was lasting longer than most kids she tought before him. But I guess I should let up now....I don't want that seal coming undone. I can handle myself, but it's the other kids Im concerned about.

Just as she was about to stop, something from the corner of her eye caught her attention. It was Twig and her was throwing something, but what it was she didn't know. It all happened in slow motion for Izaria. The seed was thrown, Twig jumped for it, and her flames hit it. That idiot! Was all she had time to think before a large explosion engulfed the room, smoke expanding the whole length of the room. Slowly the smoke began to rise to the celining and when it did, an angry Izaria was seen arms crossed and tapping her foot. She had managed to put a shiled around every kid in the room, even Armond, and her familiar. Because the seed exploded so quickly putting a shield around it required such persice accuracy, that she didn't want to take the chance of messing it up.

"What the hell were you thinking?" She asked in a calm voice, all the prep gone from her voice. "Were you trying to injure us or are you just plain stupid? Did you not know what you were throwing our way?" The shields around everyone vanished, and Tonaki returned to her shoulder also peering into Twig's eyes.

~Meanwhile~

Anson sighed sitting in the Captain's Quarters. He hadn't a clue on what he should do or where he should go. Him and his crew were more of the wondering pirates only taking what they needed, and only when they needed it. The young pirate captain sighed, "Maybe we should just cruise for a while, dock at a town and stay there for a while....We will be neediing supplies soon." It was then he heard the bell for lunch and he instantly hopped up, running out of his room and into the kitchen, however as soon as he opened the kitchen door he ran face first into an iron frying pan.

"Hello captain!" The female cook of the ship laughed.

"M-must you always do that?" Anson asked in a pained voice from the ground. The cook only shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, maybe or maybe not. Depends on how I may feel that day." Anson grumbled as he was standing up but he only got halfway before he got trampled by the rest of his crew, who was also rushing to lunch. "I-i...Must b-be the w-w-worst treated....Captain e-ever..." He whined now face first on the floor and foot prints all over his back.

Maura coughed slightly as the shield surrounding her vanished. Her eyes were wide with shock and her hands were clasped tightly around her necklace. A small pulse of energy erupted from the emerald and Maura's hands warmed. She looked around at some of the other students, some looking disheveled, some looking quite relaxed. Maura glanced toward the front of the classroom where her teacher Izaria was scolding Twig. 'Serves him right!' she thought somewhat savagely. She didn't appreciate the lack of sense.

Eru sighed as the shield and smoke around him disappated. Insolent fool. What was he thinking, trying something so dangerous? His attention then turned to his teacher. However, the fact she was able to put up so many shields to quickly took some skill. She's not inept, it seems. I would've been more impressed if she had put a shield around the seed to contain the explosion, but oh well. He turned back to Twig. He's still an insolent fool, regardless. Eru stood up. "Shall I go next?"

Armond began to chuckle as the shield around him lowered then he looked to Twig, Armond's eyes had a dark look in them, the seal on Armond's arm glew brightly as Armond's anger rose and as he thought of hitting Twig with a spell, Armond shook his head "No your not worth it." Armond turned to the teacher "As I said I would explain the seal upon my arm. It is not that I can't control my power, it's for training it teaches concetration and allows the user to test themselves." Armond smiled then scornfully looking to Twig "Your lucky today druid boy." Armond's words were harsh, Armond then began to walk back to his seat

I can't believe he would do something so stupid! Maharu thought after she overcame her breif shock at the sudden explosion. She hadn't even noticed Twig throw the seed, as she was so engrossed in the demonstraition going on at the front of the class. What a lack of disipline, and not to mention respect.

"I see. You may have to explaine some things to me then. I only know the basics of arcane markings, but it's nice to to know that." Izaria said still calming herself down. She passed a slightly annoyed glance at Twig but only sighed. "Why don't you go back to your seat now." She mumbled watching as the smoke escaped from the vents in the celining. Not in he mood for giving detention, since she would have to stay after school as well, she decided to let it go. However, the next time he wouldn't get off so easily.

"Anyway, yes you may come up Mr. Maranwe." As he came up she turned and walked through a door that was at the back of the class. It was a while before she came back out, but when she did she held a jar, with a purple gas like substance inside. On the out side were weird markings, obviously a seal, surrounding the circumfrence of the jar. "This class, is a Poe. It's a type of ghost, or poltergiest and is very common." Izaria placed her hand on the top. "Mr. Maranwe, what I want you to perform is a containment spell and catch the poe. Just in case you all know nothing of a poe, there is no need to worry. Poe's cannot possess anyone, at least not by themselves, and they cannot cause physical or any other type of harm. However, they are very fast and quite annoying. If it passes through you, you may feel a numbing sensaition but that's about it."

She turned back to Eru with a smile, "Ready?" Without waiting for a responce she opened the jar and instantly the purple gas shot out and stopped in the center of the room. Slowly the gas formed a transparent orb, with two red eyes and a wide mouth that was sent in a grin. With a cackle the Poe began shooting all over the room and around the kids. "I advise you hurry up." Izaria said placing a charm on the room so the Poe couldn't escape.

Since Lucis was asleep before the explosion, it came to a surprise to him he was woken by a loud 'BOOM' noise. "Gah! What happened!?" Lucis frantically asked in order to get a picture of what had happened earleir. He looked around then the teacher left and came back woth a wierd jar. Luke wondered why he couldn't hear anything, but he was up front, so the explosion must have temporarily cut off his hearing. He did a little spell to heal any wounds he might have and to restore his hearing, but sadly the jar was opened and some... Thing came out and passed through him. He started getting all numb inside and shivered abit. This school year is gonna be... Interesting, thought Lucis as he shrunk back in his seat in order not to be hit by the chaos or the chaos's aftermath to be more specific. The ghostly appairation zipped around the room from what Lucis could see and did some stuff from what Lucis could hear... And left off a smell from what Lucis could... Well... Smell.

Captain Jaeger stood by the steering wheel of the ship. Smiling to himself, Jaeger contemplated his next destination, he needed to start hiring once again to replace the crew members he'd lost during the convoy ship raid, but so far he'd seen no island to recruit. Jaeger thought a little more, and a lightbulb soon flashed in his head. He knew of 1 or 2 islands where all ships go to replenish crew members. He pulled out his compass medallion and watched as it glowed and gave Jaeger sight of every direction. Gazing down at his map, Jaeger saw his next destination: Skyheart island.

OoC: A poe? All I need is a good bottle, lol.

"I don't have my bonded weapon, but this won't take long, nonetheless." Eru closed his eyes in concentration. The poe was zipping to and fro, but even with his eyes closed, Eru could sense its movement, and waited until the opportune moment. The poe continued to zip around the room, until it ran into a corner. The moment it turned around to fly elsewhere, Eru waved his hand in its direction, and suddenly it stopped moving, trapped by chains glowing a dim blue. He opened his hand, palm up, and the trapped poe flew to it, still struggling in vain as it floated above it.

After the explosion, Twig had walked backed to his seat wondering why he wasn't punished. It was his first year in this school, and so far he wasn't liking it. Twig didn't bother looking at the expressions of the other students. They all seem to have acted as if I've badly injured someone. The most that the Bomb Seed could have done was a temporary injury that would probably take only a week to heal. Maybe it's just because it's the first day or maybe it's just this one teacher, but this school isn't so good if it's students isn't prepared for a pirate attack.

Twig has to admit that the Bomb Seed was uncalled for, but it was an accident. He was trying to decided whether to try to gain some reputation back, or just leave it as it is right now. After pondering for a minute, he decided not to care. He didn't come here to make friends. He just came here to learn, but having at least one friend might help his time here better.

The teacher had released a Poe into the classroom, which he'd seen outside of school, but never cared about it. It doesn't look like he'll start caring now since it's harmless. Twig watched the Poe move about, but he was thinking of something else. While the students in the classroom played around with easy to learn protection spells and harmless Poes, pirates were out there wrecking havoc, destroying the lives needed for the Balance...Now that he thought about it, the pirates probably know about this school. This school can easily be the next target for a pirate raid.
