Daft Innovation
Hi guys, hope I done this right and it's in the right section. Recently I've seen a few music videos on YouTube and I found this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14lG67jahFk It's a "I Got It From Your Mama" remix, with samples from the epic Daft Punk's "Around The World". will.i.am originally thought that daft Punk will allow usage of their music, but he was wrong. It's now considered that will.i.am ripped Daft Punk's beats. I have to admit, two of my favourite genres combined into one epic song is just sick. Also a feature of the paradiso girls is great too. But stealing some beats off someone is just not cool. The vid's not bad, it's made in 2007. Kinda got some stuff from Tron, another excuse to steal daft Punk's beats. Discuss about music stealing/ripping, and any instances you have seen.
FTW (For The Wynn)
Alright, and I'll stick with stealing from Daft Punk. Even if he did get permission (which I'm not sure if he did or not), Kanye West used parts of their own song Harder Better Faster Stronger on his own chart topper Stronger. I personally hate when people use other people's songs as their own unless they're doing a cover.

But if you could steal someone's music and make it really good like that one, then it's alright. But it's illegal.

Outré
Coldplay plagarized Viva La Vida. More or Less (you'd probably consider it less...). I don't feel like going into that conversation here, so you can just search it if your really that interested...
