I would ask for your names but I doubt they are important. Most of you would probably be dead by the time this adventure is through; so I'll get down to brass tax. Sufficed to say one thing lead to another and an extremelly important set of documents were sucked into an experimental multiverse portal. I'll not divulge the contents of these documents, but it is immensely important that they are found before even a single sentence of any of them are read. Now, we developed a handheld portal device that can send us within range of a document, give or take a few multiverses. Now, I'm sure some of these worlds will contain high-octane nightmare fuel which will leave you scarred for life but that shouldn't be an issue an- Wh-why are you running for the doors? The cloak seems to function very much like a bag of holding, as Ivor seems to be able to put anything brought within the cloak into a pocket space that can only be reached by him, and that seems to remain attached to the cloak even when moving between universes. Current items within the cloak include spare clothing, weapons from various periods and universes, food and a number of gifts and devices with various effects. If need be, he would make sacrifices, both physical and mental, to save his friends from any known danger that comes for them no matter the reason or purpose.[/spoiler] [b]Reason for Joining the expedition:[/b] Zach always believed in doing the impossible, having the ability to change the world with the acts that he has done over the years. For the last 10 years, Zach had been a stunt double for life threatening stunts, not hurting him as much as it seemed somehow, barely survived a clash of Monster Trucks, and actually taking out terrorist assassins. After hearing about a new way of doing the impossible, he believed he would be a legend, but he knew that he wasn't going to change his ways after becoming a legend. From what he looked at it, he believed he could make it possible. But when he finally found out exactly what that impossible activity was... He really believed it to be impossible. Science has never understood if there actually was a multiverse that connects our universe. But Zach just needs to know whether or not Multiverse jumping is possible to the unknown. It's now time for Zach to get his answers and prove the impossible to always be possible in his eyes. "Let's just be sure about this." he mumbled to himself. He also has a scar over the bridge of his nose. His backpack seems to be futuristic and made of metal, and he can get all sorts of things out of it, even if they wouldn't normally fit. He also hates the fact that he is "babysitting" a bunch of eggheads, daredevils, and bureaucrats on a mission into what he calls "Indian Country". He served as an instructor for other SEALs until the group that used the portal contacted him. As a trained soldier and a survival expert, the Chief is the perfect option for a security attache for the expeditionary force. He will not tolerate anyone acting out of line, because he's the one carrying not only most of the missions's supplies and weapons, but also the mutliplanar transmitter allowing them to communicate with home. His mission is twofold: get back the documents at all costs, and make sure the team stays alive. He will be paid a million dollars for each expedition member that survives the trip, and 10 million once the documents are recovered. However, he is willing to take a few "casualties" to get the job done. [b]Personality:[/b] Rather upbeat, cheerful and naive for someone who's been to prison. Passive and submissive, she tends to prefer defusing arguments and fights as soon as she can. She takes criticism and insults really to heart, and after being insulted she typically fights back tears. There are inklings that she may be stronger then she lets on. [b]Reason for Joining the expedition:[/b] A normal 16 year old, until the fateful day she was accused of murder, arson, treason, jaywalking, and several other ridiculous and over the top allegations. A quick and rather bizarre trial and she found herself declared guilty on all counts, sentenced to multiple life sentences behind bars for a crime she swears she didn't commit. Several months of long, painful monotony later the warden appeared to offer her a deal. She'd be free to go, if she volunteered for one "quick" mission. She quickly jumped for it, hoping to reclaim her life after the journey ended. And so, the would-be felon joins the team. Due to her carrying electrical equipment, her bag was selected specifically for its waterproofing and air-sealing features. [b]Personality:[/b] Pearl can be overbearing at times, and is inflexible; once her mind is made up, a *person* can't change it. Facts, however, can, and even those who know her are sometimes surprised at how quickly she can change her mind. She doesn't trust others easily with her knowledge, thanks to a certain amoral professor, but when in a group she is a great team player; she just expects her contributions to be recognized. She does stand by those who have earned her trust, however, that's not to say she doesn't have a manipulative side to her as well... [b]Reason for Joining the expedition:[/b] After having her research stolen by her college professor without even a word of thanks or recognition, Pearl went on to study the multiverse. She quickly became a renowned researcher, contributing much to multiverse theory. In fact, the Veileron Function, named after herself, is a key formula to help stabilize warps that are sending multiple people through at once. Hired to join a team who were designing the equipment the expedition team uses, she just had one request at the time of her hiring: to travel the multiverse alongside whoever else is using the devices she helped work on. After all, having someone who understands the equipment will help increase the chances of success, right? While people called her suicidal for wanting to actually travel the multiverse, Pearl thought of it of just a way to learn more. After all, what better way to do so than to experience it first hand? She does have another reason for going, a secret to all but herself. There have been rumors of a top-secret document that was once in the possession of her employers, but now lost. It was seen as a dangerous thing, and she wondered how it got lost if it was so dangerous. When she was requested to help design practical trans-universe equipment, she wondered if it had something to do with the multiverse. With her idea confirmed at the briefing, she made it her second goal to find out exactly what was in the document... She never gives up, and will put the safety of others (or her goal, whatever it may be) ahead of herself. [b]Reason for Joining the expedition:[/b] Osanimu was doing an expedition in her home multiverse. The aim of the expedition was to find a sacred Ruby that held the key to life in that multiverse. Osanimu was leader, driving the team through the wind, rain, hail, even fire couldn't hold her back. Eventually, though, one by one, some team members left, finding it to difficult to continue, or not seeing the point of spending days in danger looking for something that might not exsist. So, soon only 2 were left; Osanimu and some guy called Saiyr. The two continued, and finally, after months, almost a year of voyaging, the found the Sacred Ruby. When Osanimu toched the great gem to gain knowledge as she had been told to do, the gem self-destructed, and creating a space-dimesional portal that sent her far from her home multiverse. Saiyr was sucked in too, but nobody knows where he is now. Now Osanimu is trying to get home to her multiverse, and by far this group is her best means of transport.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Multiverse Log] [spoiler=Multiverse 212493] Multiverse 212493 Is a tortured world where humanity is in constant battle with alien forces. The aliens themselves having been dumped in the Milky Way galaxy by a malfunctioning hyper drive; their militaristic nature caused them to wage battle on the best mortal resistance, ergo, Earth. Despite them destroying most of humanity, several humans released some form of latent power accesible only to those of this multiverse. They are capable of summoning shadow beasts from their backs which possess qualities of both animal and demon. These powerful creatures allowed humanity to fight bak against the aliens. Due to ethical and moral issues, many of the humans with the shadow summmoning powers are allied into groups with different goals. Edit: Err... before I'm asked for a last name for Helena, she prefers not to say it, or makes up one if she has to. After (or before? Or during?) the trial her family pretty much disowned her. The charges brought up against her where so over the top and heartbreaking and insane and ridiculous and too much for them to handle so they pretty much left her up a creek without a paddle. Some other image website, but it's almost all hentai and such, so I don't think I could mention the name or give the url since searching anything on it would probably lead to pornography.
