Merci
I think this is a prequel to something.
The fair folk, why they were free, Fair and magical in all we could see, But in the end, knowledge is a curse, Which brings everything down to the very worse. Long ago, there was a world called Love. It was a green world where everything didn't kill others, let alone eat them, and they were immortal because of it. Among them were the elves. The elves were fair and kind, never nasty, or cruel. There was no need for weapons or fear. They made music to create their homes, homes out of the trees. Some trees didn't want to become homes, and they were never disobeyed. Others did, and grew into wonderful homes. The idea of cutting and carving them never occurred to the elves, not at all, no. If they needed light, the trees would give it to them, for the trees had special glowy stuff in their material. Not only that, but the elves could also do magic. Their magic was near-infinite, and with this, they created runes in the form of an alphabet, to keep knowledge. Why it was the same runes the Second Darkness used but that was a mere coincidence. And soon the elves and everything else on Loth flourished like no other aware thing out there in the universe, and it would have been an eternal peace too, if the First Darkness hadn't come. The First Darkness came in the form of scaled birds, soon dubbed dragons by the Second Darkness. They attacked and ravaged the elves with sharp fangs and claws, and also fire, and the elves had no clue on what to do. And for a hundred years, the dragons destroyed half of everything, and the animals went in their footsteps. Some began eating the plants, some ate those who ate the plants and others like them, and others just ate them all. And then the world learned violence, fear and eating. The elves learned to fight back the dragons with their sharpened flutes which they had originally used for music and magic, but they never killed them, for the elves were still true to no blood to be shed. And soon they learned to use their magic to fight back the dragons, and so they did, casting all into space. And they were saved, and for a thousand years, they flourished once again. Until the Second Darkness came, in the form of beings resembling themselves, naming themselves 'humans'. They came from a mirror-like star, and it was obvious they came intentionally. What their original purpose was is now lost. They knew the elves' language and tried to make peace with them, but they, like the dragons, ate like what the animals had transformed into, and did something that upped it, they chopped off the trees and forced them into houses. And they not only made houses, but other useless places too. The elves tried to stop them by magically burning their knowledge of their previous life and giving them part of their magic, but they continued to chop. They never disturbed the elves' residence, but they never left trees for them, and soon the elves knew they could not live there. And so they traveled far into another island, across the seas, and took residence there, but it was only later that the humans came again, looking for residence. There was no safe place for the elves anywhere, and then a single lost elf suggested the idea of using the mirror-like star to escape into space, as they could not transport themselves. And so a fair few went into the humans' mainland, and retrieved the star, but they could not talk to it to grow. And so they were left to copy it, to make more, for they were planning on one thing only, to leave the world of Lath, as it had been renamed, and take residence elsewhere. But the humans found out, their thirst for knowledge grew higher when they learned they could learn more out in the deep dark depths, but they would destroy everything, and so the last option was war, one far worse, and far shorter, than the one with the dragons. And the Lord Odin, King of the Humans, isn't helping at all. Will you desire? Or will you betray? Will you escape? Or will everything collapse under your feet? Will you stay sane? Or will you go in-sane?

1. All Advance Clause rules apply. 2. Each RP post must be four lines, not sentences, lines, and no script style. 3. No godmodding without a very good reason. 4. No technology unless you ripped it off the mirror-like star (Which is, by the way, a spaceship). 5. Stay active.

First off. The world of Lath's moon turns as slow as the planet itself. Meaning, it's only full once a year. Oh and the time between when the humans arrived and now is a century. Humans are basically the same as us, except they have magic, mostly generated by their desire for something. Elves are like humans, other than the usual pointy-eared thing. Oh and they have near-unlimited magic that can be generated by any tiny kind of thought, but note that they are VERY, VERY, EXTREMELY, OVERKIND. Oh and they can live for a thousand years, though age from one to twenty is pretty much the same as a human, before they go everlasting-youth for THREE HUNDRED years, before having facial hair and spending the rest of their lives looking like human old people. And they are twice as fragile as humans. And yet there is only a third of a chance of a pregnant elf, so yeah. Magic is usable by everything that came from Lath, and humans. At night, a glowing red comet can be seen in the sky. It's a beautiful comet that can be seen every night. It is the dragons going about, but the humans wouldn't know this. Also as a side note, Lath got it's name from 'Wrath'. Wrath sounds like Rath and if you add the 'Engrish' problem, it becomes Lath.

Remember, everything in brackets go bye bye. Bio: Elysia was born the day the mirror-like star was successfully retrieved. She is currently the princess of the elves, and an only child. Known as the 'Crow King' by his people due to his continuous association with crows, befriending, and even communicating with them to the point that every crow out there is a spy for him, and also collecting knowledge. It was the crows that made the Humans discover the elves' little escape plot. He is an only son, and he had actually tracked the elves to their spot, although he had framed it as accidental, due to his desire to study them. He studied animals of all kinds in his youth, and even humans themselves. When he was thirty, he may as well have been the smartest being in the world. Again and again his knowledge grew, and to that end he turned the crows into his spies and knowledge-gatherers. Nowhere was there any plan safe from him. And the knowledge that he could journey into the depths of the stars furthered his desire for knowledge. He would become as smart as a god. Weapons: Magic. Faction: Humans Personality: Under Odin's eyes, literally everything that is is something to study. All he desires is knowledge. and he is cunning. He talks slowly, as he is under the belief that everyone else is unable to process what he says fast enough to make a reply that makes sense. Most of his time is spent listening to the crows telling him of their findings.

Cool.

encapturer
I have... the urge to join this.
Name: Mark Thansfeld Race: Human Age: 22 Appearance: Mark is about 5'10" tall, with short black hair and green eyes. He has a thin frame, which is usually partially obsured by the armor he wears, forged from steel and bearing a '#' symbol, the mark of the regiment he is in. He looks calm most of the time, like he is unfazed by the goings on in the world. Combined with his messy hair, it makes him look like he really doesn't care what happens in the world. Bio: Mark was born on Lath, and grew up in a human settlement. As he grew, his talent and interest in magic and the unknown led him to join with the Librarians, a group of people formed to study and learn about the world; one of many groups supported by the Crow King himself. Mark himself did not like Lord Odin. He had heard the stories, and felt that his king was amoral and ruthless in his quest for knowledge, and was ashamed to be under his rule - not that he said that out loud, mind you. Still, his time in the Librarians was enjoyable. The group were meant to be trailblazers... exploring the dangerous frontier, recording their discoveries along the way. Librarians were encouraged to do everything in their power in the name of knowledge and discovery. As per their creed, Mark researched the very nature of Magic... Human Magic anyway, since he would not have access to Elven Magic. He begun with a spell he dubbed "Icicle Spear". It spawns a single block of ice midair that you can lauch at a target... a basic spell many young mages are taught when learning. He is still on that spell. However, he has created over 80 variations of that single spell due to his research, some useful, some worthless, that he has gained the nickname Icicle Mage, even though he can use other magic. Although Mark didn't like his king, he held contempt for the Elves as well. They were nice, sure, but they were so haughty and hypocritical with their opinions. It may had something to do with the whole "development is bad" message, and them complaining that they were using in order to build their homes. After all, don't they do the same, just in a different manner? He never had a chance to speak with an elf face-to-face about this thought, until three monts ago... There was a storm, and Mark was seperated from his unit. After fending off a large creature and escaping, he hid inside a cave, where he found an Elf who was resting there as well. Turned out this elf - named Asara - was waiting the storm out like himself. Mark was intrigued, never seeing an elf like this in his life. He instantly began conversation with her, and she spoke up as well, glad that the human wasn't trying to kill her. They got into a heated philosophical agument, but came out of it friends, as they both truly wanted to understand the other race and wanted the fighting to end. However, as they emerged from the cave, the creature that Mark chased off earlier returned, and the ensuing battle placed Mark on the edge of death before he was able to kill the beast. Asara was heartbroken. She asked her human friend why he fought the creature instead of running. Mark's Answer? "No matter what we did, it would have caught up to us... and eaten us. I... I wanted to protect you... and show you humans can be caring too..." She was touched; after all, weren't humans known for their reckless abandon and selfishness? Unfortunately, Mark's efforts were in vain, as Asara had a large cut at her waist and was rapidly bleeding to death, with the only thing slowing her demise being her healing magic. Looking over Mark, she discovered that he could be healed much better than she could, even if she would die in the process. Mark awoke back at camp; turned out some scouts had found him lying unconscious near a cave. He remembered nothing about his encounter with the elf in the cave, only knowing that he fought a vicious creature. Still he was alive, so he must have won. After this event, however, his magic became explosive and unstable for some reason, and he had to train himself all over again in its use. Thankfully, his notes proved pivotal in regaining control over his magic, though any spell besides Icicle Spear has a chance to become unpredictable. And then there is this female voice in his head that identifies herself as 'Asara'... While he thinks he might be going insane, Mark continues his duties as a Librarian. Nowadays, though, his unit has been more involved in the war against elves. The elven voice he hears obviously disapproves of his actions, but he fights onward, sure that the Elves are hiding something. Fighting is bad, sure, but he cannot stand for such Although that voice in his head casts doubt on Mark, he will not stop until he discovers the truth behind the war. Weapons: A normal shortsword and a dagger. Uses magic, mostly variants on "Icicle Spear". Rumored to have stronger, if unstable magic after returning three months ago. Faction: Human Personality: Mark likes to learn, but is more interested in the journey rather than the destination. Things that challenge him and make him bring out his full potential are the best subjects. Thus, he has poured his heart and soul into studying magic. He is rigid, and is a stickler for the rules... whenever he thinks they apply. He also has no sense of traditional 'honor', in combat he will often employ tricks and will even flee if he decides that is the best course of action. That said, he will bet his life to protect those that are dear to him, even if he thinks he will die.

encapturer
That's... really bizarre... Is it like how MMO players are bored of the game, yet can't get themselves to quit? O.o
Merci
Yep. Every now and then I'm prompted to create a card whenever I see a cool image on a website, but usually end up just scrapping the idea these days. The only reason I was able to create this was because I have an utter fascination in the character Lord Odin.
