Yay since dad is asleep . . . or actually he is awake talking with Uncle Jesse . . . I get to review the one-shots!

So, here we go!

[spoiler=Oh Noez! DL Wrote Something Pervy . . . Again!!!]

I have been warned and I still plan on reading this.

Sad it HAS to be for my first review TT^TT

Creator a perv?! Perish the thought . . . oh wait

He IS a pervert, isn't he?

Oh well . . . I'm sure nothing BAD will come of it.

“I was just working on the Ultim-”

Cannon!!!

I don't think DL and El would ever do a joke that bad, but since this was written BY DL I guess I'm kinda wrong. DL do you really think this kind of thing passes as a joke?

Because if so I worry about you . . .

I must now interrupt this story to warn those of you who have come this far for some unimaginable reason.

I want to finish my review?

This warning, simply put, is to let you know that, if you thought this particular tale would get better, you thought wrong.

So it's going to suck even worse? Aw shoot DL I thought you were going to suprise me X3

For only despair awaits the end, and everything between this warning and then is full of nothing but sorrow. Don’t say I have not warned you.

Duly noted . . . pressing on!

Creator is in the womens' bath! He IS a pervert!!!

[reads BT and Reko snuck into the womens hot spring]

Somehow I am NOT suprised to see BT there at all.

What does that say about you BT, hmmm?

ROFLMFAO

Andex is THE best in the entire one-shot. He singlehandedly stole someone's underwear and took it to his master like it was a toy to play with.

Which it is not B|

Now if only it had continued and ended with Black and Creator running from a gorup of angry women it would've had a perfect ending.

DL I'm suprised you call that holding back? It seems a bit, I dunno . . . simple to be honest.

[spoiler=ZOMG It's A Zetsubou Black Story!!1!"]

Okay after readings this . . . no one else in Powerforce gets to call the hotel random. This just said it was the same things with a lazy leader . . . like dad.

And why is it based on the attack of a duel monster anyways?

Just because the name sounds good is my guess.

I like Arm, who I'm sure is short for Armallido [spl?], since he is eccentric and seems a few cards short of a full deck.

". . . Follow me, and be blinded, BY SCIENCE!”

Now I REALLY like him

". . . DO NOT BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! BELIEVE IN THE ME WHO BELIEVES IN THE YOU WHO BELIEVES IN THE ONE PIECE!”

lolwut?! Now I somehow got the urge to hurt him in inexcusable ways

Black stared at the scientist for a moment, in awkward silence, before hurrying out to go check on everyone else. Arm stood there, in shock, not done with his speech. He walked over to his desk and pulled out a hideous mask with tears on it. Placing it on his face, he screamed “FOREVER ALONE!” to no one in particular.

And now I like Arm again, odd.

NEXT 8D

Black doesn't even like Ice and Nex . . . wow what does that say? At least dad isn't the only one who can't be around them for an extended period of time.

Andex is found and that is all, but I get the feeling something else is going to happen with him.

On a side note I felt there was something between Black and Clair. Care to explain Black?

Blind is blind . . . go figure.

[looks around at everyone]

Okay so dad and Uncle Jesse are a LOT better at doing this than me. I'm sorry this is only my second official review, I'm not that good yet . . .

Oh so this IS during the Life take-over. Dad was wrong and that makes me happy ^^

Black has manners 83

Awe that is so sweet Black, I didn't know you were a romantic.

I mean, I'm sure dad would be messing with you and Uncle Jesse'd probably've thrown up but . . . I am happy for you and your relationship

ROFLMFAO

GO Andex!!!!

I think the Powerforce is more of an extended family than anythings else.

At the hotel it is mainly friends and people who just come to stay for a bit- the norm for a hotel really.

Again Andex is hands down the funniest person . . . err . . . dog in the entire story.

But Black the ending kind of flopped to be honest ^^;

And that finishes up my first TWO official reviews done all by myself.

YAY!!!

Oh! And dad said he is still working on his one-shot, because he has other things to do, and wants it to be a very good read in length and quality.

But if you ask me he just wants to completely explain where I was this entire time and I thank him for that ^^

lol Fusion you have NO idea what I was up to, bedies calling dad and seeing him off.

I think you'll be quite suprised when you see everything I did and the tie-ins to your work.

Oh! Before I forget I'll tell you now, no matter how intertwined it seems or whatever you can find to point out "is wrong"

Dad has thought about it and already knows that this is a one-shot and not a tie in, so everything eventually leads to him coming back and continuing on the same way in your story.

Black that part with you and Caeda seemed pretty romantic to me.

Hey we're trying to have a serious conversation over here Lora!

And what conversation is that?

*shifty eyes*

Titties or Beer

D*mn it Jesse!!! You didn't have to say it out loud!!!

What? I'm talking about the SONG you idiot

X| I'm going to go bald because of you guys . . .

Which was further supported with DL's one-shot >.>

I guess so :P

Oh yeah guys, I actually got some writing done today.

Like, a lot of writing.

And I only have to do an AP exam tomorrow, so...chapter 33 should be here in the near future.

It's possible that it'll come out sometime tomorrow, but not promising anything. I'd like to make it happen though, since I'm on a good streak right now.

Ah...missed the date.

Sorry guys, I was doing a little post-birthday celebration .-.

I did some more writing though and uh...this is gonna be a two parter.

If you thought last chapter had a lot of fights, THIS one's a hoozy doozy.

Whatever that is.

It might be crammed and unnecessary, but I'm determined for everyone to get their moment.

After 33, there will be more plot with the action for the rest of the arc.

NOT saying these fights aren't important, just that the motivation behind these ones is mostly just to win.

There is some character development in between though, so it's not ALL mindless violence =P

That said, I'm hoping I won't get a lot of homework tonight and hopefully I can finish up these last few fights. And even if I said it was a two parter, it might not be as long as 27 was.

I'll do my best.

Alright! I finished my one-shot

Look and be amazed and everything Lora went through.

[spoiler=Holy Freaking Crap this is LONG!]

"Dad can you help me with my homework?" Lora asked walking into her father's bedroom with a book in hand. Looking up her mouth slacked a bit in surprise to see him zipping up a overfilled backpack that seemed to have countless things. Putting her hands on her hips she slammed the book shut before closing the distance between them asking what he was doing packing such a heavy backpack, "Not to mention why on Earth you'd need all of those things."

"Lora I'm," Jake said closing the backpack and patting his adoptive daughter on the shoulders, "I'm taking all of this to the YCM Ultra Hotel for the decor."

"You're taking things from your private collection just to decorate the hotel you bought stock in?" She wasn't sure if he was being serious or not. Since he had bought the majority of the old Hotel's stock he had been restoring it as best he could; he went as far as to buy a large in ground pool to place on the roof of all places. Nodding her head she watched him pick up the large pack and sling it onto his back before leaving the Master Suite. Frowning Lora knew her dad had been lying, she was certain he wouldn't take valuable interdimensional objects just for decor, but then again he had done weirder. The bed creaked under her weight as she sat down and let out a small sigh only to jump when she felt something pressing into the small of her back. Sitting up right she felt behind her and pulled up what appeared to be a model Saiyan Scouter, one of exceptional quality. "Dad," Lora thought exasperated that he had left something behind until it dawned on her. With a sly grin she hooked the device to her ear, keeping it in place, and shot up off the bed. Running into her own room she dug through her drawers to wear, she had been in only a plane t-shirt and shorts so far. Digging through her outfits she finally found what she was looking for and slipped the black clothing on, making sure she didn't knock off the Scouter in the process. Now dressed for "the mission" Lora began walking out of her room but stopped, went back in, and grabbed what looked like a simple walking stick; though no one could be certain it was just a walking stick. Standing on the roof Lora looked out at the expanse of twinkling lights that was Yugo City and tapped a red button position on the Scouter's side. The second the button was clicked the supposed model sprung to life and began showing a whole bunch of random symbols in another language. After waiting for a few minutes so the Scouter could get a reading locked, the young teenager grinned once it did, "Okay dad, lets find out where you're really going . . ."

The hanger of the Banned members shinned brightly underneath the full moon as the clouds slowly drifted cross the sky, obscured slightly by something admits them. If it was daylight many people would be able to see the figure clearly in the sky, drifting on the winds, but at night it was nearly impossible unless you had the right position. Shivering in the cold wind Lora looked down at the compound as she used the hang glider to get in close, spotting her father cautiously making his way over the fence. Nodding she descended in a small circle she let the wings fold into the staff to drop the rest of the way, rolling the moment she hit the ground to avoid breaking anything. Slinking all the way to the side of the building which was currently housing the Banned members, moving closer to the man in a rigged ninja outfit, sewn together just for this occasion, the teenager tapped his shoulder before whispering to him, "Going to go decorate the hotel my ass."

"Lora?! What the hell are you doing here?" Jake asked turning around to see he'd been caught by his daughter. He was going to ask how she found him until she tapped the Saiyan Scouter covering her right eye and he let his head hang low, "I knew I should never have brought that here." Looking back up into her eyes he tripped when he saw how intensely she was glaring at him, making him go so far as to shake a bit out of his own embarrassment, and finally answered, "Your dad is going away for a bit. I thought I told you already."

Scowling at him completely now she gave his head a slight smack with the end of her staff, waving it in his face so he couldn't get up, and then withdrew it. Placing a hand on her hip she twirled the staff before pointing at her dad, "No you didn't! And why the hell are you trying to go to Japan too when Ragnarok didn't even invite you!? Are you seriously going to leave me all alone with Andrew and Katie?"

"Lora this isn't the place for this kind of conversation," he said slipping through the hanger opening only to have his daughter follow behind him, not willing to give up the chase. Looking back as he crept further into the building he waved a hand to dismiss her, "You guys will be fine. Now listen, you need to get out of here, this is the Banned’s private jet hangar. If they catch us . . . catch you . . . it's over."

Lora sighed, but gave him a quick hug before letting go, but kept her hands on his shoulders, "Just give me a call when you land, alright?"

"Better yet, I'll do it from my new hotel."

"You still think you can open a hotel franchise, huh?" she asked after giving a sigh. Since he had achieved one of his life goals since arriving to Yugo City all he seemed to focus on was opening a successful hotel franchise, "Well, you better get going . . ."

Jake nodded and silently made his way to the jet that was supposed to fly to Japan, climbing up the leg of the jet he opened a hatch and vanished. Nodding her head when she couldn't see her dad anymore she turned around and made her way out of the fenced off area. Looking back she felt worried about her dad and not being there if he needed help, but she hoped that the case wouldn't arise that he did need her there.

"Alright girl, lets get home and back to," shuddering at the mere thought Lora pole vaulted into the sky and soar off, "Homework . . ."

6 am . . . and the alarm clock starts buzzing it's annoying high pitched wale at the sleeping figure underneath the covers. Groggy and half asleep by now Lora's hand reached out and begins blindly slapping around the bed frame to shut the device off. Fumbling over the many trinquets that adorned it she eventually located the blaring device and slapped the top to put it silence mode once more, hoping to get a few more hours of sleep. Problem is the alarm clock wouldn't give up, sounding off again within a minute of being hit, and at an even louder volume. Throwing the covers off of her Lora swung her legs to the ground, stood up, and stomped in front of the alarm clock. Glaring down at the mechanical device she picked it up and threw it across the room where it shattered into pieces. At least the alarm clock died doing its job . . . waking up Lora.

"Too tired, need sleep," she thought walking into the bathroom to get ready for school. Flicking the switch she hissed at the bright light before looking into the mirror. It wasn't a pretty sight. She had very noticeable bags under her eyes from staying up to study and her hair looked like it could put Medusa's style to shame. Yawning she pulled out a brush and began taming the mass of strawberry red hair so that she could tie it into a pony tail; it was her normal style unless something prompted her to change it for a bit. Wincing as the brush got caught in a knot she tugged and tugged trying to get it out, but stopped when the pain began to be too much, "Come on you . . . untangle right n-"

"Lora," someone called from behind her. Jumping in her place in front of the mirror Lora turned around to see Katie, fully dressed in her 'secretary' uniform as always, staring at her in the doorway. Once she had taken a calming breath, she had been scared half to death by her sneaky Aunt, Lora gave her a nod, "Yes?"

"Aren't you going to be late . . . for school?" pointing to a wristwatch on her write Lora read the time, 6:37 am. She was late! She hadn't realized it, since her clock was broken, but she had taken so long getting ready she had missed the time to leave in order to get actually get there. Yelling at Katie about why she hadn't warned her sooner Lora bounded out of the bathroom with her hair slightly less tangled, and began searching through her cloths to find the school uniform. After tossing a weeks worth of cloths all over her room she eventually found the matching clothing and quickly placed them on the bed so she could get dressed. Slipping the skirt on first over her pajama pants, which she removed once the skirt was over it, she pulled off the nightie. Reaching for the button up school shirt the young teenager paused for a minute, catching her reflection in the bathroom mirror, and was satisfied how much her body had grown in the past few months. A quick 'a~hem' from Katie however snapped her back on task and she quickly pulled the shirt on, buttoned it up, and pulled the blazer over that. Looking to Katie to ensure she was properly dressed and not forgetting anything she was given a nod before dashing out of the room. Only to return a moment later to retrieve her backpack.

"I can't believe it's already been a week and a half since Dad left for Japan," she mused to herself running through the crowded streets to school. Even though the world was currently being held hostage by a megalomaniac who could and would blow the world up if anyone refused him, you'd have to read the entire story, things still seemed to be pretty normal from Lora's student perspective; though she knew better than that. She knew that underlying the seemingly calm everyday happenings people were being hurt, kidnapped, and brainwashed all to further fortify the new "World Dictator" who went by the name of Life, Lord Life to his followers. This man even has his own private army called the Inactive . . . people who either wanted to join him, had been blackmailed into doing so, or was brainwashed into it; no one was safe from being turned into one of them. No one. Stopping at a crossing Lora held her head low and thought about that fact, no one was safe from being turned into an Inactive, "Dad followed the Banned to Japan to try and help them, right?"

"I know he is a big supporter of Freedom, Justice, and all that . . . he always has been, but why would he go so far out of his way?" The 'WALK' signal turned on and she returned to the race to get to school in time, her mind still thinking about her father and his 'mission'. Many thoughts ran through her head of why he'd attempt such a suicidal mission. Just to be the hero? Maybe he had someone he knew become an Inactive and wanted to save them? So she could have a better future? Lora actually laughed at that last remark, shaking her head as she made it through the gates of Yugo High before they slammed shut- blocking a couple unlucky souls out and sending them straight to detention. Walking through the halls Lora was so engrossed in her own thoughts she only snapped out of them when she ran into someone, "If dad was doing this for me it is definitely not because he is trying to build a better future. After all one portal and we can lea-"

"Hey watch where you're walking!" the large teenaged boy barked, the one Lora had bumped into, and scowled at her. His scowl wasn't 'fierce' to her, she'd seen much worse, but as an order Lora had to act like a normal teenage girl; this meant not getting into fights and easily knocking her opponent(s) out first and foremost. The man was now looming over her in a pathetic attempt to seem overwhelming and tough as he cracked his hairy knuckles, "You going to say 'I'm sorry' or am I going to have to make you?"

'As if you could' was what she desperately wanted to say. Dear Lord how she wanted to just say it and beat the ever loving tar out of this idiot so he'd leave her alone. This kind of situation was the most notable change in Lora's everyday life since Life took over, the simple schoolyard bully becoming a smalltime thug. Clenching her fist Lora looked down and away as if she was afraid and began to say the words that'd make the thug go away without her having to inflict bodily harm. Some loud noise from their right caught everyone's attention when a boy in glasses stumbled through the hallway with a very large vile of green liquid that appeared to be slipping from his grip. A shout and crash later the boy had collided with the thug and broke the glass over his head, spilling the liquid all over him so he was absolutely soaked, "Oh gross dude what the f*ck is this sh*t?!"

"Oh that?" the boy said picking his glasses off the ground and pointing at the pieces of broken glass, "That's just a rare new isotope I've been working on. Ah yeah . . . you might want to go get that washed off right about now . . ."

"W-What? Why?!"

"That's supposed to be a growth hormone for plants but it's toxic to human skin. I haven't tested it on humans but I'm pretty sure it's radioactive," he stated, which caused the thug to leap off the ground and pull his shirt out to see the green liquid that had drenched him. Sitting cross-legged for a moment the boy got up and looked over to Lora, "Yeah I think if the least it would do is cause hair to begin falling out."

It's High School. That phrase alone was enough to get the sizable crowd which had gathered around to leave with hair intact. The thug on the other hand had placed his hands over his thick brown hair and ran towards the bathrooms in horror. Alone in the hallways the boy looked down at shards of glass and let out a depressed sigh, "Ah man that really was a waist . . ."

"Ummm, excuse me?" Lora walked up to the boy so he could see that she too had been splattered with the green liquid, though not as bad as the thug, and gave him a worried look, "Am I going to loose my hair too?!"

"Oh? Oh!? No no no, not at all," was his reply waving a hand while trying not to laugh, "I made that entire story up. That's just normal tap water with some green food coloring in it. It'll stain pretty good, but you definitely wont have your hair falling out."

Blinking for a minute both Lora and the boy began laughing at the convincing lie he had told everyone. Their sides hurt so much they almost fell on the ground and rolled around. Managing to stop laughing for a minute they looked at each other and started right back up again. Eventually they got themselves under control, though a chuckle came out every so often, and Lora held her hand out for him, "I'm-"

"I know who you are Ms. Valiant," he said taking her hand and shaking it happily. Having her name being known was new for Lora and her expression probably said so when the boy smiled and explained, "You're the daughter of Jacob Valiant, right? He won the title 'Best Roleplayer' last year and recently bought the YCM Super Hotel so he could rebuild it. I'm an amateur roleplayer so . . ."

"Oh so your a fan of my dad . . . uh . . ."

"Ah! Max, my name is Max . . . short for Maximus . . . my mom wanted a dog and when she had me she still went with the name it's kind of embarrassing but then again she could've called me 'Spot' and now I'm rambling," Max said without taking a single breath or letting go of Lora's hand, which only made her laugh. Releasing her hand the two heard the late bell for the first class and sprang into action, telling the other they'd see them later before heading to class. Lora's first subject was World History and even though it was about World War II, oddly focusing on Adolf Hitler's attempt at conquering the entire world, she found her mind wandering elsewhere. The class passed by in a blur though she was sure the teacher had gotten onto her more than once for daydreaming. waling through the halls she kept an eye out for Max in case they bumped into each other, spotting a group of shady individuals in black clothing and huddled close together. Squinting her eyes and stopping by a set of lockers she looked the group over and made note how odd they looked. Black clothing with chains coming from just about every pocket, which was a lot of pockets, black lining under their eyes, over their lips and on their fingernails. Piercing in the nose, lips, ears and everywhere else she could spot. Definitely a suspicious group.

"Why are you looking at the Goth group lie they're about to commit a crime?" Max asked leaning beside her and pushing his glasses up in the stereotypical nerdy manor. Surprised and embarrassed Lora waved it off, she'd never seen someone dress THAT gothic before, "Just not used to them . . ."

"You thought they were Inactive Recruiters, didn't you?" Max asked following Lora as she went to her next class, Art 2-D and 3-D. The bulls eye question made her look behind as he caught up with a happy smile, possibly too happy. Eyeing him over as if he was now a likely suspect, which he was to her, she saw nothing that'd lead her to believe he was anything other than a normal geeky school nerd who got his lunch money stolen everyday. However he was able to make a very convincing lie which had even duped her, "A rare new isotope my ass." Laughing Max reached out and pulled Lora close to him, surprising her by his bold action, and saw a metal pole pass on by as they continued walking with Max beginning to speak, "You seem really out of it, you would've walked right into that pole if I hadn't moved you."

"Oh . . . t-thanks," was all she could say, upset she had ever thought he was a spy of all things. Sighing she walked through the double doors that brought her to the art studio and heard Max following behind her like a dog; she didn't even think it was funny he was acting like his namesake. She appreciated him saving her by getting rid of the bully and saving her again when she almost ran into the pole, but she wasn't about to have somebody following her around all day just because he was a fan of her dad or worse . . . was a creepy stalker now obsessed with her. Sitting in her seat Lora placed her backpack down underneath the table, "Max class is about to being, you really can't be here unless-"

"Ah Mr. Maximus," the Art Teacher, Mr. Bolke, better known as Mr. B, said in what sounded like a perfect imitation of the 'Clear-Eyes Guy'; though sad part was he wasn't trying to imitate anyone. Pulling out a file and handing it to the boy he continued, "I received your information from Principle Maker, you can have a seat where ever you like. Now class today is a free day, if you have any projects you need to finish up or make up I would suggest you use this time for that. I'll be in my office . . . not watching p0rn . . ."

The class let out a bit of laughter at the inside joke before getting to work. Taking out a paint brush and stencil she began to work on a project she hadn't finished because of training with her father; this was the only class Lora ever felt like she'd be certain to pass without going to after school specials or summer school. She had been so engrossed in each brushstroke which was adding on layer after layer of detail that Lora hadn't realize Max scooted beside her. Not wanting to mess up her drawing he waited until she noticed him a good five minutes later and then finally spoke, "So is the reason you're worried about the Inactive because of your father?"

"Yeah but I'm also worried about who might be there. Dad has lost friends in wars before, but I can't imagine going against a friend whose under mind control," she said continuing to paint a bit slower so she can continue to talk. Out of the corner of her eye Lora saw Max pull out a book, the Yugo High School Year Book to be exact, and open the page to the same year they were in. Looking through the pictures, his finger tracing over each one, Max stopped at a boy and tapped it, "Did you know he's gone missing?"

"That’s," Lora looked over the name and read it out loud, "Nathan Melon . . . I think I remember seeing him in the halls a couple times."

"And he's not the only one. These people have also gone missing recently," pulling out a sheet of paper Max handed it to her so she could look it over. It listed a couple names that were familiar to her and some that she didn't recognize. One of the names, MiniMandy, was very familiar to Lora and she felt her stomach twist into a knot, "Are you sure she . . . all of them have gone missing?"

"No one has seen them for months now, so I think it would be safe to assume they've been kidnapped by the Inactive," Max confirmed that bad feeling she was getting. MiniMandy had been a newcomer to Yugo City, being sent from overseas by her parents for better learning, and got mixed up with her father to short everything out in the massive city. Max's sigh made her look up from the paper and ask what was wrong. He only smiled and ran his hand through the messy brown hair, "I've been trying to figure out the Inactive's true numbers for a while now, almost as a hobby, but it is impossible with my limited amount of information. Year Books from this year and the year before isn't going to get me much."

"Well dad has a habit of being a packrat. I'm sure he has some information about missing people," Lora's words made the geeky teenager beam with excitement and nod his head, "So do you think I could come over to your house tonight and . . . uh . . . you know . . ."

Lora let out a laugh as Max began to clam up, shaking a bit from his nerves, and completely unable to finish his sentence. He really was a nerd in every sense of the word even if he was able to act cool once in a while. Picking her things up as the bell rang Lora scribbled down the YCM Ultra Hotel's address and her room number before handing it over to Max, "Meet me around 6."

"Uh . . . okay," Max couldn't help but blush as he took the address, the only address he had gotten from a girl, and looked it over- 237076 Pid Street, C&O District Room #889. The backpack slung over her shoulder Lora took a couple steps before turning back to Max who was still looking at the address, "Oh and Max?"

"Yeah!?"

"Don’t forget to bring your information so we can cross check them," Max lowered his head for a minute, not getting the answer he wanted, but cheered up to wave good-bye to her. The rest of the school day passed by without incident, other than Lora falling asleep in Algebra like she did every day, and once the school let out she rushed to the Hotel to gather up her father's things and, hopefully, take a shower so she could wind down from the long day. Tossing her school supplies on the bed she undid the buttons to her dress and let out a sigh as her sweaty skin was met with the cool air conditioning breeze. Stepping into the closet she removed the school uniform and got into something comfortable to wear when she met up with Max later then went to the task of finding anything her father had kept that'd help. Digging through file after file, placing them back so Jake didn't know they'd been went through, she found a few sheets of paper that'd help and stumbled across a couple other "saved documents" she'd rather have erased from her memory. Noticing the time, 3:46 pm, she wonders what to do until Max arrives; she has already taken a shower and wasn't hungry yet. Her phone ringing gave her something to do for a moment. Picking it up she listened to Max's voice come over the line with his normal happy attitude, "Lora?"

"Yeah . . ."

"Its-"

"Max I know, you're voice is kind of easy to pick out. How did you get my phone number? I only gave you my address," Lora heard Max laughing over the phone and got a bit irritated. Was her question really that funny or was there something he wasn't telling her? Maybe he was a stalker and just wanted her to give him her address personally or what not. No longer laughing Lora could hear him close what sounded like a large book, "Well that's the thing about living in a public hotel . . . I just needed to call the front desk and ask to be connected to your room number."

"O~h," Lora literally face palmed and let it run down her face as the answer dawned on her. She hadn't thought of that and when he began laughing she gave a scowl at the phone, just wishing he could see her unhappy face through the electrical lines, "Well why are you calling? Can't make it tonight?"

"No I can make it, but you see . . . my schedule is free right now so it you want," Max trailed off and seemed to want Lora to finish up, which she did, "Alright so where do you want to meet?"

"Do you know where McDoogals is?"

"Of course I know where McDoogals is Maximus," she replied feeling that he was talking down to her, which is the reason she used his entire first name knowing it would make him irritated; she was right when he let out a small mumble. Everyone knew where McDoogals was since it was the largest hamburger fast food restaurant in the entire world. Just thinking about the fast food place made her stomach grumble in pleads for something to eat and she heard Max, "Lora? Lora you there?"

"Oh! Ah yeah sorry I got . . . distracted," now Lora was happy that Max couldn't see her face as she turned red from embarrassment about her stomach grumbles, "So I'll see you in a couple minutes and, while we're there, get something to eat."

"Alright."

"See you soon," clicking the 'end' button Lora picked up the files she'd gotten earlier and put them away in her backpack. Already dressed for her meeting with Max she left the room but made sure to lock it on the way out.

Lora walked under the golden arches of the McDoogals with her backpack in tow, looking around for Max at the booths. When she didn't see him she merely thought he was running late and went to order herself something to eat; a number 8 with ranch dressing to coat the chicken nuggets and a large Sprite. Waiting at the counter Lora kept an eye out for Max arriving but then she heard him calling for her at the other end of the restaurant. Looking to where the call had came from she let out a laugh which ended in a wide smile seeing Max being dragged around by a group of little kids who kept asking him to play. Pulling his hands away from the tiny demanders he pointed to Lora and explained that he had to go talk to the "pretty lady" and would be back to play with them if they hadn't left yet. Obviously displeased with this the kids sulked but understood he couldn't stay, letting him run over to her as she picked her order up, "Sorry I hadn't noticed you got here yet, the kids decided to pass the time playing tag."

"I didn't know you were good with kids," Lora gave him a warm smile, making him blush and rub the back of his head in a usual geekish way, and the two walked over to a booth. Scooting in Lora was confused when he slide in beside her, "Uh what are you doing?"

"Hu? Oh . . . oh! Sorry," getting up and out of the seat Max moved over to the other side and sat back down, "I guess this would be easier to talk back and forth than side by side."

"Plus now you can see 'the pretty lady'," Lora nearly fell out of her seat when Max looked up red as a beet and unable to speak; she wasn't meaning to be a jerk, but it was fun teasing/flirting with him. "Dad'd probably kill me if he heard me say that," she thought wiping a tear from her eye and with that thought grew serious. Max, unable to speak about what Lora had said, already was pulling out whatever information he had gathered about the Inactive to place beside and around both of their food. It was more than she expected some High School nerd to possess and wondered how accurate it was, but guessed if this was his hobby it would have to be pretty close. Sipping her Sprite Lora pulled out the multitude of Year Books her father had accumulated, even ones from as far back as when HE was in Grade School, along with innumerable photographs from events he had been too or friends had given him; Max was surprised by the number. Opening up the newest year book Lora had brought, the one where her father had graduated, max skimmed through the people while glance every so often at a sheet of paper he held in his left hand. Lora waited, unsure what she was supposed to do other than just bring the materials, and decided it'd be best to let "the expert" do his thing. Finally Max set the book down and looked up at her, "There is a few things I can gleam by skimming through this book."

"Really? Well, what is it?"

"First," Max picked the Year Book up and the sheet of paper which had the heading 'Missing People's Report 2008', "Some of these names do correspond with missing persons' reports that have been filed over the years by relatives and close acquaintances. So I am certain the more we look into this new batch of information, the more we will be able to accurately guess the Inactive's true fighting strength. And finally . . ."

Max paused for a moment, placing the paper down so he could quickly flip through the Year Book, and then pointed to a specific picture, "Your dad has defiantly doesn't take good pictures."

Laugh let out another round of laughter as Max chuckled at his own joke. She knew that it was true, her father venomously apposed having his picture taken by anyone, which made the fact there was so many with him in them an even more amazing fact, "Guess once he was caught on camera he decided he couldn't throw them away. Or maybe this is all 'revoked' from their original owners." Sitting back up the two began the long task of going through each picture and Year Book slowly and comparing it to the even longer list of missing people; sometimes they had to double and triple check their search to ensure that a person had been reported missing. As the time ticked by they conversed, researched, ate their food, and even got into their personal lives; Lora sometimes tripping up and revealing information she had been promised not to, like knowing martial arts. Or even worse, that she had forced her father to take ballet with her when she was eight so she wouldn't be scared, something he never wanted a soul outside the family to know about; luckily for Jake, Max promised not to tell anyone though he did laugh about it. When they were finished the clock showed that it was past 8 pm and completely dark outside. Stretching Lora felt her sore body loosen up and she tried not to yawn, Max on the other hand didn't seemed tired at all, "So . . . are we done?"

"Yeah I think so," Max confirmed and lifted the list they had worked so hard on making. This list had each person they believed had been brought into the Inactive against their own will, though both knew that there were others that had gone willingly or never had been reported; but the list was will a good estimation of one third of the Inactive's numbers. Lora looked at the pictures Max had photocopied so he could place them beside the names and frowned, some of them she knew and were her father's friends, "I can't believe . . . even though Life has taken over the world . . . that some of my dad's friends are part of the enemy. I remember Cristal Flame from when we first got here. She introduced dad to the Roleplaying and Grim the Wanderer aided him in working on his first project."

"Yeah it's sad. You have to wonder what Life has on some of these people. Like Skippy Cannoe? Reports say he vanished January 25TH and hasn't been heard from since," Max looked over some of the other names, Freeman, IPhalanix and a great deal of others that made him worry. He was worried but didn't know what to do, if anything, "Lora . . ."

"Yes?"

"The Inactive have taken over the world, Life is holding the world hostage with a bomb in the Earth's core and connected to his heart. We can't kill Life without killing ourselves. Is there any point to finding anything out about the Inactive?" Max's head hanged as he thought how meaningless this all was. So what if he had possibly guessed a third of the Inactive's force if they had already won? It wasn't like he had discovered a fool proof way to beat Life. Lora could see he was brooding and slammed her hand on the desk to snap him out of it, "Who said we've lost?!"

"My dad and the rest of the Banned are in Japan right now fighting against Life and trying to figure a way to save us all!" Leaning over Lora was yelling at the top of her lungs, garnering the attention of the other late goers to McDoogals, "What we need to do is whatever we can to help them, so nothing we've done is "for nothing". Life has taken away our freedom! They will not force us! They will stop degrading us! They will NOT control us! WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!"

"Yeah but-"

"NO buts!" she yelled again making him flinch and forced him out of the seat, placing all of the information they had gotten in her backpack before handing it over to him; he struggled to keep it form falling to the ground. Nodding her head she gave him a confidant smile, patting his shoulder, "My dad and the rest of the banned aren't the types to give up. They'll find a way and end this nightmare, just you watch. Until then . . . lets just do our part."

"No matter what that part is, right?" he retorted with renewed confidence, giving her a thumbs up. A round of applause made both of the teenagers turn to see everyone who had heard Lora's speech standing up in a public display of their approval, not caring what Life or his subordinates might do to them; for now they were roused by the thoughts of regaining their freedom. Smiling at everyone they waved and said they'd see each other at school Monday morning, both thankful it was the weekend and didn't have to wake up early. Max left first, bounding out and racing down the dark street with a bit of trouble from the backpack Lora had let him borrow; he had wanted the check the information a fourth time and compile it with whatever he hadn't managed to bring along. Waiting a few minutes Lora herself left McDoogals to walk home underneath the glowing street lamps. Shivering in the cold night air, the wind kicking up a bit, she felt a little nervous walking by herself. It wasn't paranoia but instead she was nervous from her speech a while back. She had the bad habit of speaking without thinking and didn't want to have raised everyone's hopes only for them to get crushed completely by Life's iron grip on the world. Stopping in front of a dark alley, which in hindsight probably wasn't the best idea, she slapped her cheeks to snap out of the depressing trail her thoughts were beginning to take. The sound of someone walking towards her and a male voice caught her attention, "Lovely speech back at the McDoogals. You normally don't see public protesters anymore since Lord Life has made the world into a utopia, much less at a McDoogals."

"Who are-"

"Just a couple of our Lord's faithful servants who overheard your very rousing speech," one of them said walking into the light created by the lamp, showing his entire face. He was a young man, seemingly no more than a few years older than Lora herself, and he had a scar under his left eye which had been stitched up rather poorly. Swaying his hand out in a welcoming gesture he invited her, "So if you would come with us . . ."

"Yeah I don't think so," was her response, knowing full well already what happened to those who accepted the invite. Screaming in shock when the man's arm shot out like rubber, stretching out of proportion , and gripped onto her wrist. Chuckling he tipped the straw hat on his head, "Wouldn't you please? We're all friends here now aren't we? My names Luffy Laxer, so wont you come along now?"

"Luffy Laxer?!" Lora's eyes grew wide, remembering seeing the name on the list, which had been taken from her father's Year Book, "This guy was a friend of dad's!?" Pulling on her Lora stumbled a bit as Luffy's arm returned to it's normal shape and she was caught by the other man, his arms covered in a thick patch of fur, "If you don't feel like cooperating we can always do this the hard way."

Opening his mouth the man displayed a dazzling set of sharp canine-like teeth which gnashed with each chomp, attempting to intimidate her. Scowling she lifted her right knee, crushing the Inactive member's balls with the upward thrust, and made him stumble back howling in agony. using the surprise from her initial attack Lora twisted Luffy's rubber arm around her own and yanked, making him fly towards her. She punched him square in the face as he got within distance and yelled, "When will guys learn that a girl never . . . ever . . . likes being touched by random ass holes!?"

Luffy flew into the alley as the wolf man tried uncurling out of the fetal position, his hands cupped between his legs as tears freely streamed down his face. Confidant she'd one Lora went to turn around only to be greeted with a blow to the face. Skidding back she coughed, holding her chin, "What was that?! A punch? A kick? D*mn it I couldn't see!" Taking her staff out it expanded to full length as she surveyed her surroundings before another blow caught her from the right and knocked her clean into the empty road. A foot prevented her from getting up as the assaulter looked down with a scowl, this one actually frightening her, "I suggest you stay down."

"Ethan we had this," Luffy said getting up and pulling his arm back into place. Ethan Sonic looked back at Luffy, his expression never changing, and nodded to the downed teammate, "Help Mickey get up and just stay out of the way."

"Now young lady," Ethan said readdressing Lora, his spiky blond haired head dodging the spear-like thrust from Lora as he leapt off her. Standing back up Lora spun the staff around before tapping it on the ground, "What was that about staying down?"

She could joke now only because she managed to get him off her, but the truth was he was a lot faster than she was. She hadn't even been able to sense him coming up on her and hadn't spotted a single attack he'd made. Lifting the staff up she held it like a bow, pulling on the invisible string to charge an energy arrow, "So tell me . . . how come your so fast and how can Luffy stretch his arm like Monkey D Luffy?"

"Answer is tacos!!!" a shrilled voice screamed out as the owner plopped on Lora's head, hitting on it like a drum. Struggling a bit to get the miniature robot off of her Lora finally managed to throw the GIR replica off of her and was sent flying by one of Ethan's attack. Using the staff to prevent herself from falling on her back she saw more people literally coming out of the woodworks to gather around Ethan Sonic. A man who looked more shark than human and another that was wearing a melon costume for whatever reason. Not only that but Luffy and Mickey had gotten up. Stepping back as the rest stepped forward Ethan Sonic spoke, "Take her alive to Lord Life. I'm sure the daughter of Jake the Sage will be a welcomed addition to the Inactive."

"So that’s your plan," Lora knew they were trying to kidnap her like everyone else, but now she knew exactly why they were doing it. Sure she could fight and beat people as good as anyone else around, but it was her relations that they were after. Capturing her and making her an Inactive would effectively take her father out of the game too, "D*mn, they know dad wouldn't fight back if Life had me in any type of danger." Standing straight up Lora looked at the three men in front of her: Newfie Shark, Nathaniel Melon and Mickey Draco. Nodding her head she pulled out an MP3 Player and put the earpieces into her head, confusing some of the Inactive members, "What is she doing?"

"Lost it maybe?"

"I wanna listen too!!!"

"It doesn't matter, just get her!" Ethan yelled as the song list Lora had put on began blaring in her ears. She found out that like her father certain types of music made her fight better or worse; it was a weakness all of her family seemed to have, besides easily falling for illusions. Nodding her head in beat with the rhythmic drumming she tuned out the rushing bodies coming towards her and let her body loosen up. Lifting up the staff with a flick of her wrist she slammed it into Mickey’s face and pole vaulted over Newfie's lunge to drop kick Melon in the back. Sliding she spun the staff elegantly as the group turned around for a second assault. Newfie was trying to get up close, chomping and biting randomly at her but getting beat back by her weapon. Kicking him in the face, breaking some teeth, she leapt over him and was hit in the stomach by a large watermelon that Melon had chunked at her. Dropping she rolled out of the way in time to avoid Mickey Draco from ripping her open, though her shirt did not avoid being torn to pieces. She was so enthralled in the music she hardly noticed, despite the whistles from the GIR unit and continued to counter each attack effectively. Dispatching Melon and Newfie in the next few moves with little problem she ended her fight with Mickey Draco by once more crushing his balls and kicking him back, only to have someone grab her from behind and throw her into a wall. Pushing back from the wall she felt some blood dripping down her face and had her feet pulled out from under her. Turning on her back she saw Luffy's arms holding on tight to her ankles as he stood in the middle of the road, "You really should stop fighting us. Lord Life isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is. Just look what he did to me!"

"See? All I see is he made you into a carnival freak," Lora spat angrily and was tossed into the air. Her sides her almost as much as her head did at the moment, but the blaring music made it easier to ignore and focus on the fight. Beginning to descend she was thinking of the best way to take out the remaining three, "Luffy can extend his arms seemingly without end. Ethan is super fast. While GIR is . . ." Lora was cut off by a tin can pegging her in the head, thrown by GIR, and was grabbed by Luffy once more to be thrown at Ethan Sonic. Raising his hand he gave a single punch to the small of her back and rapidly began making a succession of punches in the same area. Her father had learned a similar attack and only now did she understand the pain it could cause the target. Screaming loudly as she fell to the round, smoke wafting up from where she had been punched, her head was spinning and thinking nearly impossible. Ethan lifted her by her hair, gripped her chin roughly, and glared at her, "We have to bring you alive and roughly intact so you can be of use but . . ."

"But!" the GIR interrupted with a squeal and landed on Sonic's shoulder, waving a finger, "There isn't anything wrong with breaking a leg or two . . . possibly three!"

Feeling Luffy's arms moving over and around her legs she shivered in disgust as he laughed, letting his arms completely wrap around her body to keep her from struggling. His hands rested on her chest and she didn't want to imagine what he was imagining or planned to do while she was in his grip. She wanted to fight back but right now, after the attack from Ethan, Luffy was unfortunately the only thing keeping her standing up. Her vision blurred when a sharp pain erupted from her shoulder, a knife ripping through her soft skin, letting the warm blood ooze out. Someone, Lora couldn't tell who, was yelling at GIR for unreasonably stabbing her in the shoulder, something about risking her loosing the ability to use it for a while. Her head spun, vision grew worse, and finally the entire surroundings around her grew black; her head slumped forward. Ethan cautiously walked up to her and lifted her head, examining the empty eyes, "GIR you f*cking idiot you made her pass out."

"But she is still alive!!! GIR did your job, you need thank me with tacos!!! Or maybe a giant burrito!!!" Ethan turned around to yell at GIR but stopped when something made his entire body shiver. Turning around his nose was broken when it came in contact with Lora's forehead and let her fly back to tackle Luffy. Slamming him into the wall she began exuding more power which seemed to burn his skin, making him quickly retract his arms. Shaking both hands to cool them off he hissed and then screamed when Lora loomed over him, eyes still empty of any conscious thought. Inhaling quickly he was punted like a football and, just like one, bounced off a couple walls before exhaling and rolling to a stop. Stumbling as she turned around Ethan held both hands up, "So you can fight unconscious, hu? What the hell are you?!"

Ethan knew she couldn't answer him and had mainly said that for himself before activating the speed function in his shoes. Racing at breakneck speeds he didn't have time to react as Lora held her arm out, letting the enemy collide with it and quite literally break his neck before falling on his back. Coughing and gasping Ethan's mind went blank when Lora grabbed her staff and slammed it into his stomach, knocking him out; even now she reframed from killing. Amidst the ensuing chaos GIR had snuck away, extending his antenna to send out a coded signal, "GIR 302001 reporting, my Lord Life . . ."

The signal was cut off as Lora sliced the robot in half, who screamed 'poor puppy' as it's parts scattered around the ground. Swaying with the subsiding overflow of energy Lora toppled to the ground, barely breathing. It wouldn't be long before more Inactive members arrived to whisk her away, but luckily someone appeared from the open manhole and lifted Lora up gently. Looking around for any onlookers he disappeared with her back into the sewers.

The dim light room remained silent against the busy streets above, leaving no hint of where this truly was. Adorning the room was furniture and other objects one would find in a house, including a bed. In that bed a figure groaned before rising up out from under the covers that fell in front of her. Holding her head as it spun Lora slowly opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings, "W-Where am I?" Throwing the covers to the side, Lora slid her feet onto the cold concrete floor. sending a cold chill to race through her body, and felt a burning sensation in her shoulder. Wincing she instinctively held it trying to make the pain go away, which it slowly did, and lifted her head when someone called out at her, "So, you're awake."

Spotting the man sitting in a chair, his body wrapped in a blanket, she glared wondering who he was. The last thing she remembered was being attacked by the Inactive, but had no recollection of what happened afterwards; nor did she know she had been rescued by this man after beating previously mentioned Inactive. Removing the blanket from around him Lora tightened her hands into fists, spotting the multitude of weapons he is sporting, and gasped when the pain rippled through her shoulder. Standing up the man turned his back to her, crossed his arms, and calmly spoke to her, "Miss Lora you might not believe this, but there is no need to lash out against me. You're safe here. Also . . ."

The man paused for a bit, grabbing a shirt from the nightstand and tossed it over his shoulder to the foot of the bed for Lora, "You might . . . want to put that on."

"Hu? What are you talking about?" Lora raised an eyebrow before looking down, finally realizing that she had no top on and was completely exposed. Shrieking she pulled the covers over her, grabbed the shirt, and hide her face from the man. Poking a single eye out from under the cover she glared at him, "You saw didn't you . . . you sick kidnapping pervert!"

"Honestly," he replied tilting his head up and putting his hands in his pockets, "I didn't see anything. I blindfolded myself. You were bleeding pretty heavily so I had to suture the wound to save your life. The shirt was already torn to shreds when I found you so I just got rid of it."

"Uh hu," Lora, underneath the covers, checked the knife wound and discovered that it had been stitched up quite well; she even thought it seemed professionally done. If this man went out of his way to save her, as he claimed, and stitch her up without looking at her chest, as he claimed once more, she now was confused about who he possibly was. Putting the shirt on she removed the covers and got out of bed despite any protests the man gave to her, walking up to him, "Okay so who are you? I don't suppose you're just 'some good citizen' who just so happens to be able to perform surgery. Also you knew my name when I never said it."

"You mean you don't remember me?" the man said looking down at the young girl with a smile. Taken aback by this she looked at him as best she could in the dim lighting until it dawned on her, she might actually know who he was. Unfortunately it was just a feeling in the back of her mind, she had no idea of his name, just a feeling, "Yes . . . no . . . maybe, I really feel like I've seen you somewhere before but I can't remember."

"I'm not surprised," the man said standing up and patting her uninjured shoulder. Having no clue who this man was and what he wanted from her, that action would normally be given a swift blow to the stomach, but for some reason Lora didn't; it was as if she instinctively trusted this man. His smile seemed familiar as he continued, "You were probably only eight when you and your father met me, and I was only around for two years. Here is a hint: I am the co-owner to your dad's biggest project."

Lora's jaw opened wide as she pointed at the man, now understanding who he was, and felt tears beginning to fill her eyes, "A-Andrew? Andrew . . . Burke?"

"Hey Lora," Andrew replied with a smile and was pulled into a deep hug, the teenage girl crying into his shoulder. It was impossible. After two years of not seeing him Andrew had appeared out of thin air and saved her from the Inactive members, bringing her to safety and even stitching her up to prevent her from bleeding to death. Crying for a good three minutes Lora pulled herself away from him but never stopped smiling, "Where have you been Andrew?! Have you talked to dad?!"

"Please call me Genesis Lora," Andrew said ruffling her hair, offering her a seat, and walked to the kitchen stove that had been placed in the same 'room' as everything else. Quickly frying up something to eat he walked back, handed her a plate, and began explaining, "I've been where everyone else who has disappeared been, or I should say I've become a member of what everyone who disappears is."

"Y-You're an-" Lora stumbled over the words as her eyes grew wide with a mixture of shock and fear.

"Yes, I'm an Inactive member," Andrew said pulling up his sleeve to show the mark where a chip had been implanted under his skin; each Inactive member had this so Life could effectively control their every action. Putting the plate on the ground in front of her Lora held her head low, "So . . . you work for Life. What did he send you here for? To kidnap me or make me an Inactive just so Life can torture my father?"

"Lora that isn't-"

"But you are an Inactive member! You work for Life, the guy who is controlling the world right now! I know he has complete control over every Inactive member, even you! What does he have against you An- Genesis?! What is Life blackmailing you with that you'd be forced to work for him?"

"Lora, I willingly went to Life," Andrew replied without batting an eye. Lora felt like she couldn't breath. She had just heard one of her father's closest friends admit he willingly went to a megalomaniac so he could work for him with no inhibitions to what it would do to others. Shaking in anger she wanted to lash out, but she knew Andrew was an accomplished fighter like her father; she vividly remembered both of them sparring in high pace matches. Lora wanted to run, but not knowing where she was it would be a foolish idea. She was trapped, alone and at the mercy of an Inactive member she personally knew, "God this is impossible. It has to be a dream . . . this can't be real." Andrew tossed her a covered knife and watched her hold it in her hands, looking at him bewildered, "I think that'll make you feel a bit more at ease. If you think I'm going to hurt you . . ."

Andrew stood up and removed all of his weapons, tossing it far out of reach, "You are now the only one holding a weapon. I can't get to those before you get to me. Now if you want me to explain why I went to Life without any prompting."

"Yes. Yes I want to hear it," Lora kept the knife in her hands, not sure if she'd have to use it against a friend of the family. Andrew took something off a desktop, making Lora flinch and pull the knife out, and held it up for her to see. It appeared to be a iPad or something along the lines, but didn't have any logo she noticed; the device had KP inked on the back. Turning to face her Andrew began explaining himself, "Lora the reason why I became an Inactive member is actually your father's idea."

"What?" Naturally Lora had trouble believing this. Her father showed no signs of knowing about the Inactive before they emerged, making the idea he knew about them years before they appeared ridiculous. Letting out chuckle he continued, "Yeah I know, your dad probably seemed pretty surprised when the Inactive showed their hands. But I promise you he knew about them, in some form, long before they appeared. The truth is your dad had discovered the enormous number of missing people a long time ago and, like you and your friend back at the fast food place, did his own research to find out what was going on. Eventually he found out that they were being kidnapped or forced to disappear by some unknown reasons."

"Of course, everyone knows that now," Lora nodded; everything was absolute in hindsight.

"Well know it's a well known fact, but remember back then we didn't even know the Inactive existed. All your dad and I knew was something was causing people to vanish off the streets. But all of his research didn't give any answers, so he decided to send someone 'to the other side' so he could figure out what was going on."

"And he picked you," Lora said and got a nod from him. He explained that, since he was close to her father and also able to physically go against him in a fight, the chances were good that whoever was taking people couldn't resist adding him to their numbers. Andrew laughed after saying this, replying 'guess we were right', and continued, "Your dad and I spoke back and forth for a while when I first became a spy for him. We were trying to figure out what they were planning . . . for all the good it did."

"They still succeeded," Lora and Andrew let that momentary depression over the state of the world pass by. In the pause something came to mind and Lora asked, "Genesis if you're an Inactive member, how can you be a spy too? Doesn't Life have ways of tracking everything you do and say?"

"Normally," Andrew grinned wide, possibly waiting for this question to arise, and showed the ipad-thinigie again. He tossed it to her and then noted a few more things placed sporadically around the room, "Your father thankfully thought about that in advance and grabbed a few things that he'd think would prevent my total supervision by Life."

"Wait this is a Kimunnicator," she had flicked on the device and heard the memorable tune. Looking about at what Andrew had pointed out she noticed a few more things and understood what her father did to ensure communications between himself and his friend, "So dad equipped you with interdimensional objects."

"Yes. Since they aren't from this world people generally don't know about them and it is incredibly hard for them to be hacked into or interfered with."

"Yeah one of the Banned . . . I think BT . . . has something like that," Lora stated remembering the perverted little buffoon; she didn’t mean to be harsh, she liked him but found his perversion annoying. Nodding Andrew stated BT's alien wristwatch probably was interdimensional in origin. Getting back on track he tapped the mark on his shoulder, "Now I can't get rid of everything or else Life will get suspicious. My tracking chip is still activated but as long as I am in this room the chip appears to be randomly moving throughout the city."

"So why are you still with the Inactive A-Genesis? You said it yourself that you originally began spying on them to figure out what they were planning. But they've already achieved that, so why remain with them?"

"Well now I have a more obvious goal," Andrew stood up and walked to the door, unlocking it. He opened it for her and turned back with a smug grin, "Being an Inactive of high ranking, I am poised to discover a weakness Life might possess and then relay that to your dad. Now I have some official 'business' to attend to so you need to get out of here."

"O-Okay," stopping in the doorframe she looked back and Andrew with a small frown, feeling her heart tighten, "Will I see you again?"

"Eventually, after all of this is over with . . . definitely," he gave her a thumbs up as the door began to close, "I feel I'm close."

How could either of them imagine that, right that very moment, Jake had already discovered Life's weakness and was fighting the man in Japan? That he had, with the Thomas King, relayed the weakness of Life to the Banned members before being kidnapped.

It took Lora a while to find her way out of the sewers since she had not received instructions. Removing the manhole lid she crawled out into a different alleyway than she had encountered the other Inactive members. Coughing she shielded her eyes from the blinding sunlight and heard people murmuring about her; it wasn't hard to guess why they were doing that, after all she had just climbed out of the sewers and probably looked horrid. Making it back to the hotel she didn't stop to talk to anyone, even if they tried to talk to her, and quickly made it into her room. First things first, she felt as if a ton of dirt and other unmentionables covering her entire body. The shower felt like absolute bliss and when she was finished, dressed, and laying on her bed Lora's eyelids began to grow heavy. It had been a long day, possibly a long weekend, and almost fell asleep right there. Opening her right eye she saw her room phone and picked it up, dialing her father's cell phone number. She had missed his voice and, after everything she had gone through, just needed to hear his voice. The dial tone rang five times before he finally picked up, "Lora? It's the middle of the night. What are you doing, calling me at this hour?"

"Oh sure like I'm supposed to remember the time zone of Japan!" Lora yelled into the phone, making her father's ear ring. He couldn't see it, but she was beaming with a smile after hearing his voice . . . and getting to yell at him. Everything felt normal again and she began talking again, "You know, I wouldn't be calling if you didn't forget to check in every day! I haven't heard from you in days, what the hell happened?"

She listened to her father simply state that he hadn't called because 'a lot' happened and shivered when he mentioned war. "God if only he could imagine what I went through recently," she thought holding the phone to her ear. Remembering she needed to act as if nothing had changed, so her dad wouldn't get suspicious and begin asking questions himself, Lora stomped her foot loud enough to be heard over the phone, "Weren't you just going there to start your hotel? What happened to that?"

"Oh yeah," Jake said gulping. He didn't want her to know he had the sh*t beaten out of him by Life or had been kidnapped by the Inactive, but managed to survive so he could escape. Acting as if everything was normal and he had only been busy with the hotel, but knew he couldn't lie to her. The truth would only come out eventually and continued, "Uh, the thing is, I kinda . . . got caught up in Banned business."

"Dad," Jake rolled his eyes over hearing Lora's exasperated sigh over the phone, though he was glad she didn't seem to be angry with him. How could she be angry, after what she herself had been through, "You need to be more careful. What if you ever ran into Life or something?"

“Actually, I met with him and discovered his weakness!” Jake exclaimed proudly, forgetting he was going to lie to her to save her from worrying about him. Eyes open wide he slapped his face and continued, albeit a bit less proudly, "“Even if my back was perforated with needles . . . and even if I was punched through a window, I made it out okay . . ."

“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING, YOU IDIOT!” Lora shouted into the phone, "Dad, you could have died!"

"I probably shouldn’t mention my heart stopped for a minute . . . then again, why would that Donovyn guy bother telling the truth to me? Eh, whatever." Jake thought as Lora reflected on Andrew's mission. He had joined the Inactive to help her father do exactly what he had done himself, discover the weakness of Life. She wanted to go back and tell him, so he could stop being an Inactive spy, but she didn't know how to get back and it made her worry. Her reflection stopped when her father began talking again, "I’m sorry Lora, I’ll be more careful next time."

"You better . . . you’re all I have." she muttered holding the phone with both hands, hunching over on the bed. She Wanted to tell him everything she had been through, how she had almost been kidnapped by the Inactive, how she had been saved by Andrew and how he was senselessly trying to find what he had discovered, but knew it would be best not to tell him. He had a habit of worrying. If she told him what she had been through he would be constantly worried about her and not able to do what he needed to do . . . he was affiliated with the Banned now.

"Don’t worry, honestly. I’ll see you soon, okay?" After exchanging goodbyes, he snapped the cell phone shut, audibly sighing as he laid down. "Life . . . you’ve brought too much pain and suffering to us all. I’ll fight you and the Inactive non-stop until Lora doesn't have to worry about me anymore." Odd how both of them wanted to make sure the other didn't worry over them. Truly even though not related by blood they shared a family bond. Sitting up Lora held the phone in her hand and let everything wash over her, taking it all in and trying to deal with it. She had been targeted by the Inactive and saved by an Inactive spy her father sent years ago; this same spy was no uselessly searching for a question which was already answered. At the same time her father had nearly died against Life himself and been kidnapped. She felt so useless in her small apartment room, not having been able to even beat some D-List Inactive members. She hadn't done enough. Her father had risked his life against the iron hold on the megalomaniac while she had just began delving into this chaotic turmoil the world was in. She wanted to more, she felt it was something she had to do.

Lifting the phone up Lora decided she needed to take action like her dad. And she knew where to begin. First a long distance phone call before going down to talk to Andrew and Katie. Pressing the numbers she held it to her phone as the gruff voice of a male came over, "Uncle?"

If Life wanted to fight against Lora and her family . . . Life would fight against all of her family. She just hopped they'd be able to arrive before the war began . . .

I didn't want to make it long, but it just kinda happened ^^;
