you have never played the warcraft RTS games have you?
I agree.
Runescapes....'lore' is miniscule in comparison to Warcraft (YES, WoW is just an MMO version of the Warcraft series, and has the same lore)
+ all the npc's on runescape speak to you as if you're 7 years old.

I don't know why we're even comparing these two games.
Assuming you're mature, with a decent pc, and a decent income (job), World of Warcraft is superior in every way.
It's unfair on Jaxex to try and compare them to such a big company like Blizzard, who have proper MLG competitions with a large amount of prize money.

3rd edit and now Im rageing a little, PLEASE do your research before typing. They nerfed wildy because people were using it to real world trade, which is a major concern, as they are dedicated to making their game fair. Though even I (as a major pvp’er) was disappointed at pvp worlds, as a replacement, I cant think of a better solution, and I think they made the best of a bad situation. They are excellent at running their MMO and calling them clueless pisses me off (they didnt lose half their players either. They came out of 08-09 with more players than they went into it with. again, do your damn research)
Bull crap when the wildy was gone I looked it up on youtube all the youtube comments said something similar to the lines of, " Wow This is a F*cked up idea I quit this game". Ok you have me there, but honestly there system of combat is, click action basically everything is click action. They've improved much but I still dislike the click action fighting system, compared to other MMORPGs Runescape is bellow alot of them but half of them you have to pay and such. Runescape is though my #1 Pick for Free MMORPG, I apologize for my wrong hypothesis, but I still believe if Jagex hands Runescape to Nexon, Blizzard, and all of the Major MMORPG Companies like that could make Runescape a better game.

Anyways I'd like to ask all of you about the next segment of MMORPG Wars, I need two new MMORPGs any suggestions?

Well, we could either argue about two crappy, free browser games, or we could argue about two client based games.

Actually, I've been a member forr 3 and a half years, not f2p for a week. =/
Also, I don't quest a lot, so the Majharrat wasn't on the top of my mind, either was the Myreque.
I guess the 3rd-5th age is a part of the story line, and so is the Dagon'hai, in the While Guthix Sleeps quest, but they don't contribute heaps to the story.
I actually think that the 1st age holds the most interesting story, since it was when the humans (amongst other creatures) migrated from their plain... and when Guthix created Magic.

I also think that the 2nd age is very significant since it was when Zaros was the dominate force in the world.

So pretty much every age is a huge part of it... but it's fair to say that the 3rd-5th age holds the most significance.

EDIT:

I'd also like to put in an application for another lesser known MMO.

Ultima Online

Username on MMORPG: Characters: Mithotyn, Willie Two Dope (I don't remember the account name, it's been over a year since I played).

Futuristic Fantasy, Modern Fantasy, or Medieval Fantasy: Medieval Fantasy

Storyline: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_Online#Timeline

Level Max.: Total stats are capped at 225 for new accounts. At 6 months, all characters will have their stat cap raised by 5 points to 230. Also, Scrolls of Power can be found to raise your stat cap by up to 25 points. Individual stats are capped at 150.

How many players: 135,000+ (as of June 2006, couldn't find a closer date).

Graphics: Pretty old school if using the old client, If using the new client then it is still pretty low but it's better.

Is payment required?: Yes. Monthly Subscription: $12.99, 3 Month Prepaid Discount Package: $34.99,
6 Month Prepaid Discount Package: $59.99. 14 Day Trial is available.

Are you addictive to this game: Not anymore... but it was very interesting when I was playing it.

Other Information that you want me to know about the MMORPG: Holds the Guinness World Records for 'First MMORPG to Reach 100,000 Players', 'Longest Running MMORPG', and 'First and Only Person to Kill Lord British'.

I honestly don't know why, but Mawnis Burrowgar is quite possibly one of my favorite quest-related NPC. Probably because I love the Helm of Neitiznot.

What I like is that the RS has a multitude a villains, each conspiring in their own way. The Fairy Godfather, Vanstrom Klause, Drakan, Zemouregal, Lucien, the Red Axe, even the penguins. What does WoW have? Uh, a Lich King, right? Lucien's a Lich who stole a staff that actually completely banished a god and took a stone that an Elder God used to create the entire world.

Myreque is undoubtedly my favorite storyline, and I want it to converge with the Pirate series, because a Vampirate storyline in RuneScape would be awesome. In fact, there's quite a few quest series I want to tie together. Camelot/Elves, Dwarves/Penguins, for starters.

So yeah, RuneScape doesn't have a plot, it has countless plots, and the one that was originally stated to be the closest thing to a central part (The Plague series) has been outclassed by a series revolving around gods from a world in eternal war. And some of them are Zarosian, the best religion in video games ever.

No there's more than the Lich King there are a tremendous amount of villains in WoW, like Onxyia, Nefarious, Illidan I could keep going on and on, each villain has a different plot. And there are also sub-villains before the main villain occurs at the end of the Dungeons or as they call it in WoW Instances.

@Roxas: I agree. Zaros is one BAMF. Can't wait till he finally makes his full return (instead of just smiting statues and screwing with a portal).

I can see the Myreque and Pirates joining force (cause of Port Phasmatys). Camelot and Elves is also a plausible one, the Dwarves and Penguins is a bit of a stretch for me to imagine... but it's possible.

Another thing, in game Runescapes plots actually emotionally connect to you. I was honest to god sad when I finished the death to the drogeshun quest line just because it ment I couldnt quest with Zanik (the best videogame character since mario btw) anymore. They made me feel like I was an old freind with Zanik by the end of The Chosen Commander, something ive never seen WoW replicate. And btw, though I havent played any, Warcraft rts, I have read all the WoW and RS lores and RS wins by a looooongshot

I got 1 question...

WoW, is it Casual? Like you can pick it up for 20min and put it down and get some progress?
20 mins????!?!?!?!??
We're talking about MMO's here dude. There is very little you can do in 20 minutes on an MMO, particularly at the start.
However, I suppose you could make a couple thousand gold in WoW in that sorta time, if you're good at manipulating the auction house. (and to explain things to the runefags, the auction house is like the GE, except...with a more auctiony type format, and 1000g is the equivalent of 1000000gp. (+ money is less valuable in WoW, since all the 'decent' armour cannot be traded to other characters)).

20min is more or less the time it takes to finish 1 grind based quest (varies though if you have enough company etc) or 3 fed-ex quests. So yeah, that's what I was asking. I am fully aware of what an MMO is tyvm.
Sorry if I sounded a little patronising xD

And you could probably get 3 grind based quests done in 20 minutes, assuming they're all in the same sub area....But that still won't get you far tbh.
