Catman25
The thing is though, in addition, is that the values will be messed up the first day. Either the values will drop very low (which is more likely) or considerably high. Nonetheless I think I will try to update every day (I change my mind a lot don't I? ;D) . Starting tomorrow, I'll put up new values, and everyday afterwards. If I miss a day, you'll just be stuck with values from the previous day. As I have no clue how this will affect the values already, I'll tweak it out tomorrow, and see how it goes. Be sure to check back often. ;D

Catman25
Ok, here's how it's going down. As I mentioned earlier, I will try to update this everyday. I started day, so the values are updated. But since there has been a rapid change in the values due to alterations in my calculating methods, I will be giving compensation to those whose stocks have dropped down. (This only applies to Raiza if I'm correct) So you will be getting back the diff. between the two values x the number you bought. This is only if you're stocks fell, because if it somehow went up, *cough*General*cough*, then you're in luck. And this is only a one time thing, since I'm changing to daily updates. So from here on out things should be running smoothly. So if your stocks fell, look for those couple extra points back in the mail.

Catman25
If you want it to be worthwhile, keep posting in the forums. ;D And I update every day at around 6:00pm (GMT -5) so it's always going to be around the same time. This is just to keep things consistent, and it helps record the post values in exactly 24 hrs. So yeah, 6:00 today will be the next update, so check back then. (If you're in a diff. time zone, that's in about 3 hrs.)
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Interesting concept that I should probably look to get involved in. Could do with a 'nice lil earner'. I'm vaguely aware of how share and stocks work and it's something I maylook to dabble in real life, however I was just wondering if we get dividends for just owning stock here? Or would that be too complicated/too costly/just plain wrong idea on my part? Will look at purchasing later in the weekend btw not going to be on my tomorrow. Cheers

Bahamut - Envoy of the End
All I know is that companies pay a segment of their profits to their shareholders every so often. Got this off ehow:
Dividends are a common way for corporations to transfer profits to their shareholders. The amount of the dividend is determined by the board of directors and paid out in regular distributions, usually quarterly. Some high-yielding investment funds, often commodities-based, pay dividends monthly. The decision to offer a dividend usually means a company has amassed more cash than it can productively reinvest in its own operations, which is why most fast-growing tech companies do not pay dividends. Older stalwarts, such as IBM or even Microsoft, offer dividends once they begin the transition from growth to value stock. A stated dividend represents a promise to pay, and a company that increases its dividend is seen to be tacitly announcing strong earnings for the foreseeable future. Though the dividend on an individual stock is often quite small, ranging from a few pennies to a few dollars, the total quarterly dividend distribution payments can be a significant cash commitment.

Dividends are paid on a per share basis. For an investor, the dividend is like a bond coupon payment, representing fixed income over the time the stock is owned. This is why dividends are also represented in terms of yield. The stated dividend and yield are annual figures. So, if for example Microsoft stock is listed s having a dividend of $0.52 and a yield of 2.8 percent, this means the owner of a single share will receive a total of $0.52 over the four regular dividend payments, an amount roughly equaling 2.8 percent of the share price at the time the figures were quoted. The owner of 100 shares would receive $52 dollars in four quarterly payments of $13 each. Since the yield of a stock is always stated in terms of its current per share price, the yield is always in flux, and as the price of the stock goes down, the yield goes up. The actual yield to an investor is determined by the price they paid to own the stock.
Not that I'm telling you how to run your thing or anything. Most have dropped significantly, once of the exceptions being General(+32). And I may be out of town tomorrow, so you may need to stick with these values for two days, it all depends. Catman25
Eh, I should really get rid of those. Those are more for me, but if you guys ever wanted to know those are the point dividends; ((Today's posts - Yesterdays posts)/Dividend) = Value. Each section is weighted, due to different activity levels, so there are 3 diff. dividends, 1, 2.5, 5. So in essence, you can already calculate the values before I do.
