Dark
Just downloaded iTunes 10 and QuickTime whatever. iTunes won't open. I run Windows XP. I tried plugging in my iPod, since that always auto-starts iTunes. Didn't work. Tried reinstalling iTunes and QuickTime at least three times by now. I'm getting tired of this bullshit. Also, remove any third-party items from the folders /Library/QuickTime and ~/Library/QuickTime. In particular, some users report that removing DesktopVideoOut.component from these locations resolves the issue. I can't find the folder nor the file anywhere on my C Drive. I kind of want to downgrade back to 9.2.1, but can I retrieve my library back from my iPod itself? Or is that not possible? If there is some sort of fix for iTunes 10, great. If not, I'm tired, and pissed off. iTunes.exe does show up in Windows Task Manager, but the actual application never opens. This is really annoying. JG.
Just tried opening it, works fine for me. Maybe Appel made the epic fail assumption that everyone runs Vista+ now?
Dark
Even if they were that stupid, itunes.exe would not show up in my process list. I just got done reinstalling it again, and it's really pissing me off. Why does Apple not have an official download link for 9.2.1 anymore? I want the old version, not this crap. <___<
JG.
Yeah, I did prefer 9.2.1 though.
Phantom Roxas
This belongs in Music.
Dark
I don't see how it belongs in Music. It is not discussing music, it is discussing a problem with a program that just so happens to play music. <___< Regardless, I still haven't fixed it, and it is pissing me off. Death Metal
It's working fine for me... and I also run XP. So I can't really help out there. =/ However, if you still have you still have the iTunes folder in your My Music folder you can load up your previous library by holding down the shift button when iTunes is opening and selecting 'choose library'. Just select go into the iTunes folder and click on it (it should be named 'iTunes Library') to load it up. That way you can still use your old library if you decide to load up an older version of iTunes.
