Awesome gameplay is awesome. Laguna looks to be another one of those boring ranged characters (while I have to admit, how he handles his weapons... looks kinda epic), but Lightning has some pretty cool moves. Also, Tifa should have won that other fight... seriously, I just can't see this [s]gay[/s] guy win

Oh, but wait, there IS an update!

As it turns out, the new characters will be from the SNES generation forward. Which means FFIV and up.

Mix this^ with the previous update that there'll be between 4-10 new characters (and hoping that SE will put ten) then that guarantees a new character from FFIX. ;D

Also guarantees a new character from V, VI, X, and XI.

That's Tidus... most likely. Also, you can see Tidus and Jecht fight later on, so that's not really possible. It could also be Yuna (because he or she is barefoot, as is the short shot of (most likely) Yuna)... or it's just Tidus alternate costume, who knows

That's Tidus in the opening shot, but Jecht being a Warrior of Cosmos became obvious considering the request Mateus made.

I expected Shantotto to come back considering how there's really no reason to remove her if she was in the original, though she does annoy me. If you want to complain about Vincent's absence, blame Tifa. I just want to know if Genesis will be in.

Mateus? The Esper? Where was that in the trailer? Or what are you talking about...
Edit: Oh, the Emperor... okay, I don't speak the slightest Japanese, but I still don't think Jecht will switch sides. There will be some scenes, maybe even a fight for Cosmos, but for the purpose of the game, he'll most likely still count as one of Chaos' people.

I doubt it. Tifa will be the character for FF VII, and I don't think they'll put in more than 1 per game... and who would want him anyway?

1) Shantotto owns all "OHOHOHOHOHOHO!" and from what I heard she got alot better, I posted the website on why. Her brave game got better, retribution adds guard stagger, HP Spells have a better cooldown meaning faster spell ownage and more.
2) I wouldn't mind Vincent he would be cool imagine what Gimmick (Playstyle) SE can give him he should be in Dissidia 011.
3) Vaan is awful atleast his moves looks interesting he'll be my punching bag.
4) Yes Lightning and her smexyness my new Main unless Faris/Beatrix/Celes gets confirmed, wishful thinking. I really hope Lightning punches somebody in this game most likely Zidane or Tidus or Vaan mostly Vaan just for the lulz.

That's Jecht @the op shot. I'm guessing Jecht will be a warrior of cosmos at the beginning then to a Warrior of Chaos later judging by the trailer.

Well I'll be surprised if SE decides to pick Genesis sure he looks cool his chance are very slim close to nothing at all but hey SE can surprise you I'm glad that Tifa is confirmed finally a fist fighter.

No it doesn't. They never said that they will include a new character from every game.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw in half a dozen new FFVII characters.


So far the new characters that are confirmed are Kain, Lightning, Vaan, Tifa, Laguna, and Yuna. That's 6 so far. If they're only adding a maximum of 10, the last 4 I'm betting on are...

I like your list pretty realistic except for seymour which I doubt will happen but they did say if Yuna was in Seymour had a chance but I would rage if he got in that's 4 reps for FFX which is unfair but then again SE is full of surprises can't really predict what there going to do

Heres my prediction list:
Faris (FF5) and Dysley (FF13)
Celes (FF6) or a female FF9 rep and Shadow Lord or any FF11 Villain

Alt. List:
Gilgamesh (FF5) and a FF9 or FF6 female rep mostly Beatrix or Celes
Dysley (FF13) and Prishe (FF11)

The maximum is 10 and it follows the guy and girl pattern.

Seymour is almost guaranteed to be in it, especially now that Yuna is in it. In fact, other than Gilgamesh, Seymour is the most likely person on my list to be in the game.

Not to mention the fact that since Jecht is on Cosmos's side in this game, there is no longer a villain from FFX.


Assuming there's only 10 added characters, Celes is the least likely person on my list to be added, since there still isn't a FFXI villain either. Not that I really care, because I don't play MMOs, and I don't even consider FFXI to be part of the main series.

Tifa's a hero, so they could bring in a villain. Just because you don't like Genesis doesn't mean he can't make it in. Yes, he might play similar than Sephiroth, but it's not as bad as Zack being like Cloud.

Ok Jecht is on the side of Cosmos at the beginning we don't know if he is or isn't going to stay at that side during the trailer we saw Jecht beat down and was near the throne of Chaos. The Emperor asked Chaos to put some of his power on Jecht, I don't what will happen after that but I think that's where Jecht became a Warrior of Chaos, that's just IMO. Now back to your Seymour your argument just because FFX doesn't have a Chaos rep doesn't mean Seymour has high chance that will imply that Shadow Lord or any FF11 Villains will have a high chance to be in this game since FF11 doesn't have Chaos rep. If Seymour does get in this game wow I wouldn't mind him being in as long as FF11 and FF13 gets a rep but if they don't and he is in that will leave me questioning on SE decisions and what they think of their games.

SE doesn't care about balancing sides they want characters that are popular and that has potential of having a good moveset or gimmick. Gilgamesh is mostly on everyone's list he has high chance to get in this game because of alot of reasons he's funny, a chaos rep, great moveset potential, FF5 has only 2 reps and nothing new out of that series yet.

I don't know why people think FF11 isn't part of the Main series just because it's a MMO OK sure it's not popular to you but there is a lot of people who does play it, I'm not one of them but from videos I see how is it different from the main series it's an RPG you have boss fights, it has a story , you level up, you have iconic FF monsters there, sure it doesn't have the feel of a Final Fantasy but it's called FF11 for a reason it's part of the FF Main series deal with it, they could have named this something different but no they chose it to be FF11. There is a lot of Villain and Character potential for FF11 mostly being Shadow Lord and Prishe if 1 of these characters gets in the game then I would be happy since I like playing characters that I haven't played in the Main series and will show that SE does care of FF11.

No, most people speculate that if Zack was in Dissidia, he would play like Cloud.

Considering how IV, VIII, and X all have three characters too, it doesn't look like they're trying to make VII the center of everything, unless you want to count that Cloud is the only character with four different costumes.

Semi-Agree with this but I there is a strong possibility will have a character from FF6, FF5, FF9, FF11 has the highest chance out of them, FF13 is a maybe since it's relatively a new game and I don't think SE wants to spoil much of the story.

The maximum newcomers will get are 10 (hopefully) the realistic number of new characters will get is 8 or 9.

FF5 has a high chance of a rep since again nothing new was revealed from that series, no stage or character. Faris & Gilgamesh are the top candidates Faris being Nomura's favorite character and Gilgamesh being one of the most requested character to be in this game. I wouldn't mind either of them, both can bring a unique playstyle and both have their own personality which defines them.

FF6 don't know much about the game other than it has alot of playable characters and is considered to be a underrated RPG some say it's the best FF. The chances of this series getting a rep is tricky considering there recent unveiling of a new stage which many people believe that new stage means no new character barring FF11, FF12, FF13 now this rumor is nothing more than speculation but it could be true. Now the popular character reps are Locke and Celes, I don't know much about them other than their popularity, Locke many people believe is a thief but he's a treasure hunter don't know much about he's move sets he uses knives, swords and boomerangs. Our other candidate Celes a runic knight with the ability to absorb magic with her sword which is pretty unique and I'm pretty sure SE can make a good gimmick of that, her moveset don't know much. about.

FF9 a fantastic RPG with one of the best character casts. Each character is so unique personalty wise and characteristic wise. This is also tricky since Prima Vista Stage is supposedly confirmed but I don't know yet I need a better pic. If FF9 gets a rep it's most likely Beatrix or Vivi. Vivi has a edge over Beatrix since he's so damn adorable and innocent for everyone to love and he is a powerful Black Mage, many complain he's just another mage ok.... SE can make him unique and create a unique gimmick and movesets for him. Due to his popularity he has a biggest chance of any FF9 character. Then there is Beatrix I can see why so many people adore her, she's strong, loyal to her queen with an intimidating presence. Her movesets will revolve around her seiken skills like shock, chimhazzard with a combination of white magic. Which again has alot of potetial of being a fun and unique playstyle.

Watch as they announce Seymour or another FF7 character, and I'll laugh.
