Joke Cards..Inappropriate ones....cards with simply no effort....Hey, it's for the support.
Ignorance is no excuse for Arrogance. Understand?

Joke Cards are not against the Rules at all, in fact due to the mere fact that LEGAL Joke Cards were made in the Magic The Gathering TCG proves it is possible in Yugioh and all other Card Games. Imakuni from the Gym Leader set in Pokemon ring a bell? Yea. The problem here lies in the fact that a staggering majority of the Joke Cards on YCM are not playable in any shape or form, or feature some retarded thing you all call "Internet Memes"; which those are against the rules.

Inappropriate ones. Haha, you cannot read can you?

Ok mister arrogant. Please tell me what kind of cards are against the rules that cannot be implied directly.
If common sense is correct, you did not read my post. And Inappropriate cards ARE implied to be against the rules, as is any adult or age 17+ related content on this site.

Cards with Simply no Effort? Provide an example. Because as it stands, your post required no effort. Should you be "against the rules" for that?

Agreed Josh. Cards like a 12 Star Chuck Norris card with 9999/9999 stats is what I would class as a Joke Card.

As for the 17+ thing? I`ve been doing my best to keep my image selection tasteful. Funnily enough the number of explicit cards is next to none. Loving the support all of you, this will work.

That justifies you even less. If you were serious, I could just go "Meh he doesn't know any better" and just smile knowing you've learn a little. That in itself is a great thing. But now you aren't serious at all? And yet for some reason your behavior showed that you were? HAHAHA! <_< No wonder YCM and CC is suffering, attitudes like that do not help the newbies at all.

As for this, if I have time today I will formulate a formality to apply it. Until then, I ask that you not post any guides etc there at all.

It wasn't so much consideration, I was ready to add it from the moment you suggested. The thing was that I need dedication to apply it.

And now, if you may- Show me a few concept guides you'd see there. Including a 1 paragraph summary for each. (This applies to all current voters).

Alright Josh, as for me, I believe that one of the biggest things that need to be addressed when a newb first posts is how to post. I know that there are many posts on this topic (I actually used them when I first started out), but I also spent a lot of time on here as a guest, so I had prior knowledge as to what to do. Also, I am considerably older than the majority of people who start out on here, so I understand the rules. They need a tutorial on how to actually post, one that is more updated. I get tired of typing out my step by step post solution personally, so it would at least help me some.

Aside from that, I would also recommend a showcase of sorts showing good cards vs. bad cards and what OCG really is. I know I make mistakes on the OCG, so I know how easy it is to not capitalize a word like Deck but instead capitalize hand, and other extremely slight mistakes. Plus, I can guarantee that a visual aid will definitely help out. I would even recommend having a post for each forum, that way you don't have people asking "Where is the post at?" and someone saying every time "Go to the Questions forum." If you can get some of the higher ranked people to donate some of their own cards (which shouldn't be too difficult, judging by the number of people who agree with this idea) and find some people willing to make "bad cards" to show off, then I think this will be a success.

First off there is NO SUCH THING as a Bad Card! It's all good ideas, no idea is bad.

Secondly we tried that before. It created an influx of elitist and arrogant attitudes, seen as negative to the forum.

Sorry, I should have reworded that. I meant to say cards with obvious mistakes. As for the second problem, as far as I can remember, that has always been a problem. People are going to be arrogant no matter what, so forget that and just push on.

Something like this?
-Griffin's tips & rules on card making:

No hard counters.

There are two ways that a card can be good against a specific Deck: hard counters, and soft counters. I'll give two examples:

Compulsory Evacuation Device is a really nice card for a soft counter. It's specifically good against Fusion Monsters, because it returns them to the Extra Deck, making it a +0. It also does the same to Synchros, but can also return the materials before the synchro happens to prevent priority effects, important against Black Rose Dragon and sometimes others, not to mention returning, instead of destroying, counters Stardust. It works against every Deck, but counters Synchros and Fusion. It's perfectly balanced and shouldn't affect which Decks are played too greatly. It's a great card.

("Cyber Dragon" + 1 or more Machine-Type monsters.
This monster cannot be used as a Fusion Material Monster. You can only Special Summon this card from your Extra Deck by sending the above cards from either side of the field to the Graveyard. (You do not use "Polymerization".) The original ATK of this card is equal to 1000 x the number of Fusion Material Monsters used to Special Summon it. )

Chimeratech Fortress Dragon ranks right near the top of Yugioh's worst ever designed cards. Just by existing it makes any Machine Deck run the risk of losing all their cards if their opponent Summons Cyber Dragon, an already great card, and give their an opponent a beat-stick to top it off. To make Machine Decks fair while it exists, they'd have to be absurdly powerful, so to keep them in check, everyone would need to use this or pretty much automatically lose. It's a card that offers two options. Machines suck, or people have to run it. Neither of those is good in the slightest. It also only does it to a specific Deck(s) – it's a hard counter. It's a terrible card.

Moral
When designing a card, all of its effects should be usable[acronym=Don't expect 100% of duels. You might, for example, go against a Deck running no Traps – but you don't need an extra effect for that situation, it's a very specific situation.] in just about every duel you'll have.[/acronym]

Note: That moral also means it shouldn't be designed to be ineffective against certain Decks, like not working on Lightsworn or something. Try an apply common sense for when this applies.
