Kalin looked as the Skarmony landed. "Thanks!" He said to Shubura, as he jumped on. "Lets hope he can fend off the eruption and get out of here."
Kalin sat just outside the Gym, trying to gather his thoughts. The volcanic eruption.....Kalin shuddered. It reminded him of when he fell of the bridge, but this tim someone had actually offered assistance at risk of their own life. Kalin sighed; When he'd fallen off that bridge, so many people had seen him flounder in the water, yet nobody had offered to help. This time was more deadly. Even if he'd summoned Slugma, he wouldn't of been able to hold it off for long.Slugma wouldv'e had to have been a Magcargo to have stopped the eruption. He gazed at the Skarmony the man had used to get him to safety. Kalin had already said thanks to it, and it seemed content with that. Kalin turned his gaze to the volcano that loomed above the village. The volcano's top had been red with lava moments before, but now it was normal. One side was still red, but, even from this distance, Kalin could see a Quilava and Rypherior pushing the lava back into the mountain. "Wow, they're good. Probably Shubura's Pokemon, if they're as good as that.

Shubura came back to the Gym. "Are you alright? That was a pretty large eruption, probably from the recent battling I've been doing, shaking the ground a lot..." Shubura returned his three Pokémon. "You look a little familiar... Kalin, right? You live here?" Shubura pulled out a small black rock. "Here, here's a piece of Charcoal. This'll make your Slugma's Fire Attacks more powerful. I'm sure that it'll help you out sometime." Shubura handed Kalin the Charcoal. "I've been hearing a lot about the 'perfect world' and how great it could be, but I believe that a perfect world is a place where everybody can understand one another. I feel that people can understand eachother by helping them out when they need it." Shubura said. "Well, I'll see you later. I have a Gym to run." Shubura waged good bye and walked into the Gym.

"Yea, I'm OK. And yes, Im Kalin." Kalin said politely. "Thanks for the Charcoal!" He called after the Gym Leader. He looked at the mountain. Shubura's Pokemon had done a good job. It looked as if nothing had happened. Kalin considered going back, but rejected the idea. "Are you crazy Kalin? Going back could restart the eruption, and this time Shubura probably WON'T be there to save you." Kalin instead considered going to visit his sister in Immortafreeze City. After his sister left, he hadn't seen her due to his "fear". But when he thought about it, it was ridiculous. "Maybe I will go see her. In fact, yes, Ill go see her." He looked at his basically unused Pokegear. "For once, my Pokegear will come in handy." Kalin got up and walked to his house. "Hey Mum! Do you think I can go to Immortafreeze to visit Seara?" His mother dropped her dishes. "Kalin, are you....sure about this? After all, you haven't left the town since the...youknow...thing..." Kalin smiled. "Don't worry Mum, I WANT to go. Nobody is forcing me to go." His mother stopped shaking. "Oh, OK then." Kalin smiled as he left the room. "Hey Mum, can I use your bike to get there? After all, my bike is still a hundred metres below the ocean surface."

(OOC: I looked on Bulbapedia, and Pikachu can't learn Thunder Fang or Crunch...)

"Alright! Spiritomb, use Protect!" Sornao called. "Unfortunately, that Volt Tackle was a mistake. Since it launched the attack, that proved that this one is the real Pikachu. Also, since it used Volt Tackle, it hurts Pikachu as well. Additionally, since Protect was used, it made the recoil damage to Pikachu stronger" Sorano said, as Spiritomb's Protect blew Pikachu back. However, Pikachu's electric shocks somehow broke through the barrier, hitting Spiritomb. However, it stood strong. "Wow...impressive! I suppose we'll end here" Sorano said, smiling. "You have a really nice way of strategizing. Also, I can see you developing that further. Anyways, as proof of your triumph here, I present you the Stygian Badge" he handed Atrus a glint. "Hehe...This is finally getting exciting" he thought.

-MEANWHILE-

"Thanks" Caden said smiling, as he followed Nathan to the coast. "I need to train a couple of them...How does a double battle sound to you?" Caden asked. "I need to train Riolu before my next Gym Battle" he thought. "Alright! Gabite, Riolu, come on out!" A scaly dragon and a blue fox-like Pokemon emerged.

Jack observed the Doduo his father gave him a month ago. One head was in a deep slumber, his beak down and eyes tightly shut. The other head, however, was fully alert. As if someone slapped him awake, the other head of Kazooie awoke, looking left and right. The first head bumped into the second head, causing Jack to laugh. "Seriously, you guys get more weird every day." he smirked, jokingly. Jack pet between their thick down, and a feather flew off. He raised his hand. "Hold on. I'll get it." He grabbed the feather and tickled under their beaks. They squacked happily. "C'mon! Let's get breakfast ready." Jack hurried downstairs, with Kazooie following close behind.
His father was sitting at the table, having a cup of strong coffee. Mr. Mime was sweeping downstairs. Jack saw this and carefully stepped around the path he was sweeping. Mr. Mime didn't like it when someone stepped in his path when he was cleaning. Jack learned THAT lesson- twice. Kazooie didn't mind. Besides, it was only one head that Kazooie got whacked by the broom with. Mr. Mime, as he did nearly everyday, bonked the silly Doduo on the head for stepping on the freshly broomed floor. "Jack, son." his father started. "Did I ever tell you how I beat the Elite Four?" "Here we go." Jack mumbled. Kazooie lowered his heads.
"Yessir, it was June the second, 1993. I was about your age, then. I was running low on supplies. My Dugtrio fainted, an' Machop was low on energy. He looked like he'd faint if he took another step. I couldn't bear to see him faint. I swapped him out with Mr. Mime." He pointed to Mr. Mime, who was still sweeping the floor slower. He must be listening to the story as well. "Barrier protected him from a nasty burn. And one Psychic was all there was to defeat the Dragonite." Jack's father sighed. "All the kids were beating Gym Leaders back then, but few made it to the Elite Four, and the Pokemon Champion. I want you to be a Trainer." He handed Jack something plastic. "What's this?" Jack asked. "That is your Trainer card, your I.D. in Cygrus." Jack clutched it and inspected it. There he saw his picture, along with a Doduo on the far left corner. "Is that-?" "Yes, it IS Kazooie. He's registered as your first Pokemon." "Thanks, Dad!" he said, as he ran out the door, Kazooie quick on his tail. "LET'S GO!" He stopped abruptly, realizing he left his Pokeballs on the kitchen counter.

Caullen knew this battle needed to show that all trainers should learn to think outside the box. "Really?, Totodile lets show this Diglett a thing or two about throwing Mud! Use Iron Tail, then follow up with IcyWind!" He shouted towards Totodile. As the orders left his mouth, Totodile's tail became like a metal rod. Totodile actually jumped towards the Mud Shot and hit it back to the Diglett, causing it to come back twice as fast. Then using Icy Wind, The rain and Mud Shot became ice. Dodge this, Caullen thought, then you know what your doing.

Meanwhile...

Nathaniel could not figure out where it was. Looking at his map and Orb's descriptions, he should have found atleast an area where it could be but It wasnt coming together. The last item was not even wanted let alone known to the world and yet it was still hidden to him. "I will find this Stupid feather if it is the last thing I do!" He shouted while pounding the table. A Grunt came in with a phone in hand. "Sir, a Man named Zura is asking for a Dr. Lobos....You said if anyone is to ask for this to tell you right away." Grabbing the phone, he thought, this had better be good...

"Well, that's a surprise. But remember, Diglett can use Dig to dodge the attack." Ashmin smiled as Diglett disapeared again, only taking minor damage. "C'mon Diglett, hang in there and use Sand-Attack to blind Totodile, then use Mud Bomb. It won't know what hit it!" Diglett scratched the sand at Totodile, then fired another Mud bomb at it. "This guy is good. But he won't know what hit him when Diglett faints. After all, I've still got my Quilava, and it has never let me down. Lets just hope I can beat him so I can prove I'm worthy of fighting the Gym Leader."

Caullen just laughed" There you go with Dig again. Dont always rely on it. Totodile, Water Jet to Ice Digging Fang!" Totodile immediatly engulfed itself with water, and hurled itself towards the ground. The opening its mouth, It started digging its way, freezing the hole that followed and mking the ground brittle due to the rain earlier. If this trainer doesnt do anything, Diglett will be frozen on the spot. "Think, what should Diglett do" Caullen said hoping to encourage this trainer to think fast.

"Well, I use Dig to get out of trouble, but I don't rely on it. Now, Diglett use Earthquake to send the Water Jet/Ice Digging Fang back at Totodile!" Ashmin declared. Diglett did so, making the ground shake. "Now use Mud Bomb mixed with Sucker Punch for extreme Power!" The hazy Sucker Puch fist appeared, and Diglett used Mud Bomb on it, so now it is Sucker Punch surrounded by Earth. "Oh, and Just so you know, if my Diglett faints I have a stronger Pokemon with me!" Ashmin said, looking at the Pokeball with Quilava inside. "Anyway, better get ready to get hit!"

Caullen just put his head down " Typical Moves....I was counting on an Earthquake!" Just as the Earthquake started, the Earth instead just crumbled into Dust. "Due to effects of the rain and Ice Fang, Totodile made sure the surrounding ground Brittle and destroying it when shaken. Totodile Hydro Pump the ground since it looks like basin a fill her up!" With this Totodile started to fill the extremly large hole in the ground, making almost swimming pool size pond."You know what to do! Surf!"

"Oh well." Ashmin sighed as Diglett fainted. "I only just caught it, so its logical I would lose with it. Well, I tried. Return Diglett, you do great." The fainted Diglett returned to the Pokeball. She walked over to the trainer. "That was a great battle. You seemed to know exactly what I was doing." Ashmin shook her head. "That means I'm probably not ready to verse the first Gym Leader either. Even with type adavntage with my other Pokemon, Quilava, I probably still won't win." Ashmin smiled. "Thnks for the battle though, it was great." She reached out a hand. "I'm Ashmin."

"Thank you." Atrus said, as he took the badge, and placed it in his case. Atrus went out of the Gym, then decided to go to the coastline on the other side of the island. Atrus started walking towards the coast, away from the city.

-MEANWHILE-

Nathan pulled out two Pokéballs. "Alright, 2 on 2 it is. Go, Umbreon. Staraptor!" The two Pokémon appeared. "You can make the first move."

-MEANWHILE-

"Hello? Is this Dr. Lobos?" Zura Trancella spoke through the phone. "If Regulus was really serious about him, then he should have some sort of connection..." Zura thought.

-MEANWHILE-

Atrus had arrived at the shore line. He was staring out across the vast ocean. "Hm... That was definitely one of the toughest battles yet... No one has forced me to use that sort of trickery since Lance, back in Kanto... And if he's supposed to be as strong as the first of the Elite Four, then I'll have to train more... I'll have to get stronger, and find another Pokémon..." Atrus continued to look out at the ocean.

(OOC:Oh Iget it now.....I was refering to Ash of pallet town)

Caullen took her hand." My name's Caullen. Though your Diglett was just caught, I could see the compassion you had for him. I still think your ready after a couple days of training and get to know one another....I have an idea. Since i am experieced in Gyms and Strategies, why dont help you help with your training. Though Diglett is at a disadvantage, I could help so that he wont, no matter what. Then when it comes down between you and the Leader, nothing will stop you!"

"Gabite, Dragon Pulse! Riolu, Aura Sphere!" Two similar blue orbs came out of Gabite's mouth and Riolu's palms. The two orbs shot at Staraptor and Umbreon, twirling towards each other. As the two attacks passed above Staraptor and Umbreon, the two attacks collided with each other, exploding and causing a downfall of beautiful, blue shards of energy. "Now, Gabite! Riolu! Use Dig!" The two Pokemon burrowed underground. "Now, from right below them, fire Dragon Pulse and Aura Sphere straight above!" Two orbs of energy shot out of the ground and exploded around Staraptor and Umbreon.

(OOC: My mistake then. I thought you were talking about Ashmin, cause her name would be shortened to Ash. Ooops)
Ashmin smiled. "If you'd do that, it'd be great." Ashmin frowned. "I know my Diglett is disadvantaged for this Gym, but I still have my trusty Quilava, and it hasn't let me down yet! I just didn't bring it out because I wanted to train Diglett a bit." Ashmin smiled again. "But I'm sure with your help, I'll get my first Gym Badge!" "Even though I already have all the badges from the Johto......Meh, I reckon actually having someone help is better than self-teaching." Ashmin looked at Caullen. "So, when should we start?"

Nathaniel answered the phone and said" Yes, This is Dr. Lobos. How may I Help you today?" If this guy suspects any thing....
Nathaniel hurriedly headed towards the shuttle with the phone in hand.

Meanwhile...

Caullen was delighted to hear this. "Well first thing to do is go heal Diglett. I also have make a call to a friend who might help us in this situation. To the poke Center!" With this, he headed towards to the entrance of the forest. One call to Professor Eim, should help.

"OK." Ashmin said. They walked out of the forest and into the Pokemon Centre. "Nurse Joy, could you please heal my Diglett?" "Sure thing." Replied the Nurse as she took the Pokeball. "Come back in a little bit to retrieve it." "Thank you." Said Ashmin.

Meanwhile, on the Levia Bridge...

Kalin rode his mothers bike through along the Cycling Path, taking great care in avoiding other, faster riders. He was still nervous about leaving Flamvius, but he knew that Seara had been waiting ages to see him, and she couldn't come to him due to work. According to Kalin's mum, Seara was getting more and more depressed about not seeing her "baby" brother. Kalin thought back to the last time he had seen her...
They'd been on the Levia Bridge, waving Seara goodbye. Kalin remembered it well. Seara had a motorbike, and was ready to depart. Seara had been 15, and Kalin had been only 6. He remembered hugging Seara and begging her not to go. Kalin sighed. That had been 9 years ago. Too long.

While Ashmin was healing her Diglett, Caullen made a call for Professor Elm. Elm came up on screen. "Why Caullen it nice to hear from you. Im a little Surprised and busy at the moment. What can I do?" Caullen replied" Just needed you to transfer my Meganium over for a few day so I can help someone lout is that all right?"Elm nodded "Sure let me go find her... No! Aipom let go of that Stick......Stop hitting ME!" Finally Elm Came back into view." Sending her over now......Call back soon." Caullen picked the pokeball that appeared in front of him. Time to go train.

"Umbreon, use Substitute. Staraptor, use Detect." Umbreon disappeared, having been replaced by a doll, and Staraptor carefully and quickly avoided the attacks. "Staraptor, use Brave Bird. Umbreon, use Shadow Claw." Umbreon's claw grew dark, and the shadows extended, creating a claw-like form. Staraptor rose up into the air and started shining bright blue. Staraptor flew down to Riolu while Umbreon lunged at Gabite.

-MEANWHILE-

"Dr. Lobos, I've found something very peculier in the water around the Cygrus Region. I would like you to come take a look at the components of it, and explain to me exactly what that peculiarity is." Trancella said. "If you would come over to the Barren Colloseum, then I will be waiting for you."

-MEANWHILE-

Atrus continued looking out at the ocean. Atrus did this whenever he felt upset or unhappy. "I'm sure that Caden feels the way I do right now... I couldn't even beat Caden on my own, and if I barely won... Then I'm sure that Caden did." Atrus thought. "...No... I have to stay focused on what is really important. I know that that guy is as powerful as an Elite Four member, so it should be a little easier to get through now... Especially with the experience that I got from my last battle..." Atrus thought. "Yes... That's right. I'm sire that Caden is training right now for his next Gym Battle, so I'll have to catch up to him and train as well." Atrus turned his back on the ocean, and a small light appeared in front of Atrus. "What... What is this...?" Atrus held his hand out, and the light solidified into a small piece of rock. "Hm... I'd better hang on to this..." Atrus took out a small piece of thin rope, and looped it through a small hole that Atrus noticed at one end of the rock, making a small necklace. Atrus put it around his neck, and tucked it underneath his coat. "Thisll make a nice good-luck charm." Atrus thought. Atrus started walking around the coast, looking for a good spot to train.

Nathaniel now was sure something was up "The Barren Colloseum? I could but I could use more info before I come.l Ancient Artifacts and and Legendary pokemon are my field, mainly Rayquaza and Kyogre and Groudon. You said a device you found.......Describe it to me and I may help you if I know anything." Hoping this ended ended this conservation right there, He told the Grunt to lift off and head towards Barren Colloseum. "and bring me my glasses, wig and lab coat. I've got a meeting to attend to."

"Gabite, hit Shadow Claw with Dragon Claw! Riolu, use Swords Dance! Now, follow up with Zen Headbutt!" Caden called. Gabite's claw clashed with Umbreon's. The recoil of each Claw attack hit the defending Pokemon. Gabite quickly backed away, revealing a cut on its arm. Riolu spun around and started glowing blue. Then, it charged straight into Brave Bird. The attacks collided, and Riolu was forced back. "Riolu, hang in there!" Caden called, as he thought of what to do next.

"Riolu, use Aura Sphere and fire 3 of them into the air!" Riolu let out three glowing orbs of energy and shot them towards the sky. "Gabite, follow up and use Dragon Claw on those Aura Spheres!" Caden called. Gabite jumped up above the Aura Spheres, lifted its claws, now glowing green, and lowered them upon the orbs. The orbs exploded and caused a downfall of Aura Shards onto Staraptor and Umbreon's Substitute. "Now, Gabite, use Draco Meteor!" Caden called. Gabite's stomach glowed red and it opened its mouth. It spewed out a molten fireball which launched into the air, and split into countless meteors which slammed down on the Aura Shards. Each of the shards started glowing red with a tail of flames behind them. The attack spread widely across the coast, visible to all that were around.

"Staraptor, use Ariel Ace. Umbreon, use Shadow Ball." Staraptor shot towards Gabite and Umbreon fired off an orb of dark energy towards Riolu.

-MEANWHILE-

"Skarmory, use Agility." Skarmory started to move with blinding speed. "Now use your increased speed to avoid the Flamethrower." Skarmory did a barrel roll, and continued rushing down towards Hounder (or Houndoom, I get them mixed up). "Flamethrower is a linear attack, making it very easy to dodge. And now with my Skarmory's increased speed, he'll be able to avoid any Flamethrower that you shoot at him. Skarmory was nearing its target. "And remember, Ariel Ace is still a sure-hit move, so you can't dodge it." Skarmory struck Hounder, and then flew up.

-MEANWHILE-

"If you need more information, then you should come over here. I'm not entirely sure about it myself, but how did you know about the device? I only mentioned a peculiarity in the water, nothing about a device..." Zura thought for a second. "Just who are you?" Zura asked.

Caden didn't have time to call an attack that would let Gabite respond. Gabite took a direct hit from the Aerial Ace, and was knocked up into the air. "Gabite, stay strong! Soften your fall with Dragon Pulse!" Caden called. Gabite launched an orb into the sand, causing an explosion which lifted the sand up from the coast, softening Gabite's fall. "Riolu, hit that Shadow Ball with ice Punch!" Riolu struck the Shadow Ball with a glowing, blue fist. The ice caused the Shadow Ball to freeze. "Riolu, Aura Sphere at Staraptor!" The Aura Sphere shot out from Riolu and locked onto Staraptor. "Agh...at the current power of my Pokemon and my current psychological state, I don't stand a chance against him" Caden thought as he closed his eyes.

"Here is your Diglett back." Said the Nurse Joy cheerfully as she handed back the Pokeball. "Thanks." Said Ashmin. She turned back and walked over to Caullen. "So, are we ready to train now?"

Meanwhile.....

Kalin, after a while, had finally managed to reach Terramean City. He sighed. "I would've gotten here ages ago if I wasn't using Mum's bike!" He stopped next to a building and got off. "Now, to use my Pokegear to chart my course!" He declared. He pulled out the unused Pokegear. "Pokegear, show me the way to Immortafreeze!" The Pokegear beeped, and, after a moment, charted the quickest course from Terramean to Immortafreeze. "Hmmn, that'll take awhile. I'll try to get to Gradnis Village today, and then tommorow I'll get to Greenvine, and I'll think about the rest of the way there." He pocketed the Pokedex and got back on his bike. "Time to cross the desert!"
