[spoiler=Introduction]Here's the deal. Since I've been here (which isn't long), I've seen many new members sign up, rush straight into the realistic card section, post something without thinking, get slaughtered, and leave. But amongst these, there have been some talented new members come through and post some very original cards which a lot of effort was obviously put into. So for my first contest, I want to give these young 'rookies' a chance to show what they can do in one of my favourite features of this site - a contest.

[spoiler=Entry Rules]

- Entrants to this tournament must be Lv1 or Lv2 members.

- Entry to this contest is FREE. That's right absolutely nothing to pay.

- This contest needs a minimum of six entrants to run.

[spoiler=Contest Rules]

- This is a one round, one card contest. Highest scoring card wins.

- Cards must have an image URL posted. To do this, click on the card in the cardmaker, and copy and paste the link that appears at the bottom. No written cards, no attachments.

- Cards must have a lore posted. Simply copy and paste the card's effect into the post in the same way.

- Cards themselves can be any type and effect, as long as they meet the above. Be creative.

- All standard YCM rules apply (flaming, spamming, trolling, etc). Judges word is final.

[spoiler=Judging]

- There are four judges. Myself, Lexadin, Tomtekorv, and YuGiOh 5D's.

- Each judge will score cards out of 25, meaning a total of 100 points.

- I personally judge cards out of 10 on overall presentation, and out of 15 on overall effect.

- Other judges will have their own scoring systems. In the event of a tie, my score is the decider.

- The closing date for entrys is midnight (GMT) Sunday 12th September. Judging will begin on Monday.

[spoiler=Prizes]

- 1st Place: 2 reps + 50 points + The YCM Rookie Cardmaker Challenge Trophy

- 2nd Place: 1 rep + 50 points

- 3rd Place: 50 points

[spoiler=The Final Results - Top 6]

This was amazingly close, which is what I was hoping for. But 1 card stood out in the eyes of our judges and was every one's individual winner - Lord Shade and his Dimensional Absorber.

Winner - Lord Shade

Bahamut: 22 Lexadin: 22.5 Tomtekorv: 21 YuGiOh 5D's: 20 Total: 85.5

Third Place - Cpt Awesome

Bahamut: 20 Lexadin: 17 Tomtekorv: 19 YuGiOh 5D's: 20 Total: 76

6th - TJ D

Bahamut: 19 Lexadin: 18 Tomtekorv: 18 YuGiOh 5D's: 17.5 Total: 72.5

Points will be dispensed shortly. Winners may also be line to recieve prizes from our guest judges. My thanks go to them.

Ps. I may have said that Reps were worth 100 points. It appears this is not the case, they are only worth 20 or so. Sorry but I was mis-informed, but Reps are more credited anyway.

Thank you to all who entered and good luck in all your future contests.

Matt Bahamut

I don't think many new members have 20 points to put in. I do agree with your introductory paragraph. However I only have like 6 points.

Hmmm, you may have a point there. Tbh I've generated a fair few points in a month without really knowing where they've come from, so I didn't think it would be a problem. Will change it to free entry although I do want to make a profit (I'm a business student I can't help it :lol: ) I would rather see this contest jumping.

points sent

Great first contestant. Although you're points weren't actually sent. Don't worry about it, going to make this free entry now.

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or set.This card can only be Special Summoned from your hand or Deck on Chain 4 link or higher. After the chain resolves, This card gains 200 ATK and DEF for every Chain. If this card is destroyed, you can Chain 3 or more on its destruction to Special Summon it to the field during your next Standby Phase.

Ok, here we go. Hope I win :lol:

Everytime "Aedan, Thunder Serpent" destroys a non-Thunder-Type monster by battle, you can add 1 Level 4 or lower Thunder-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. As long as this card is face-up on the field, everytime a Level 4 or lower Thunder-Type monster you control is destroyed, you can pay 500 Life Points to add it to your Deck and shuffle it. You can send this card to the Graveyard to negate and destroy the Special Summon of a monster.

Whoaaaa! DD, it's great that you want to enter but hold on a second. If you'd kindly read the the rules of this contest, there are intructions explaining how to post card images. Simply click on the image in the cardmaker and a code will upload at the bottom. Copy and paste that code. I will not accept attachments.

Also you will want to have a rewrite of your effect. Sacrifice should be 'pay' and 'force in ATK mode' should be switch into Attack Position.

Please follow this advice and you are welcome to try again.

Here is mine

LORE:When this card battles a Dragon-Type monster, increase this card's ATK by 1000 until the End Phase. If this card is destroyed in battle or by the effect of a Dragon-Type monster, you can Special Summon this card during the End Phase in which it was destroyed.

Ok I've made the trophy card for the winner. This is the real prize :lol:

Seriously there are no decent pics of a trophy anywhere on the Internet.

Just noticed this thread has surpassed 200 views. Only 8 entries though.

C'mon guys. Any more takers for this magnificent (guffaw) trophy card?
