Do you remember that incredibly f***ing frustrating game that was put out last year? MARIO KART! Correct.

What was your first ever mario kart experience?

Mine was that I got shot by 3 flying shells. And finished 7th. <_<

What was yours?

Did you play it on a older console?

Go.

I was Wario, and my parents were having trouble hooking up the N64 to the tv, so I had to play with the screen being blue and constantly scrolling up. Not my worst experience though. :P
I was in first place and about to go through the final tollbooth before the finish line on the final lap of Moonview Highway in Mario Kart Wii. Before I can pass, I get hit with a blue shell, then hit with a red shell immediately afterward, then hit with a bob-omb immediately after that, then run over by a bus immediately after that. I placed last.
Mario Kart 64.

Couldn't find the accelerator button at first, and I wasn't exactly coordinated at the time, so I kept smashing into walls and making wrong turns. Even though it's been a while, I still suck at Mario Kart.

I had a flashback to my first experience when I tried the Wii Wheel. xD

I do believe my first run-in with Mario Kart was MK64, but I remember playing SMK (SNES) afterwards, so I don't know how that worked.

But hell if I know my first time playing. I've never been as good at racing games, compared to platformers and 2D sidescrollers, but I doubt I sucked horribly. It was a pretty easy concept to pick up, and there weren't fifty billion controls like in some racing games.

But I'll tell you my worst experience. Grand Prix, 150cc, Rainbow Road in MKDS. I played Mario Kart for like six hours that day. So, I was roaming around, in first, with a good lead. First, hit with Lightning. Then, hit with a Red Shell about five seconds afterwards. I guess second place was near an item box. Then, hit with a Blue Shell (while on loopy-ramp) and fell off the stage. So, I was in fifth (it was final lap, by the way). I got back up to first, saw the finish line, and got hit with another Blue Shell. Finished third. I was pissed.

Gold Mushroom spam never has any effect once your in first place... Mario Kart games make physics so unrealistic.

I was in a fight for first with the computer. I'm was second and literally on his tail when I grabbed an item box. I began frantically mashing the button to get an item and hurl it at him. I just passed him when the roulette stopped on the Blue Shell. I pressed the button one time too many and accidentally launched it. Went straight up, hovered over my head, then came back down and blew me to high hell. It threw me back to around 10th, which I never recovered from. >_> *the funny thing is that I still got first place overall :P*

Mario Kart Super Circut for the Gameboy advance. Never unlocked all the tracks because I got the Nintendo 64 version.
Mario Kart is almost a perfect game, if you minus all the rubberbanding, but hey, that's what makes the game hard.
I get the Red shell-Blue shell-lightning-boom box combo in the Wii version frequently (Not just in the game as a whole, but in single races) and that kills my spirit, so I mostly play the N64-Gamecube and DS versions the most.
Can't wait for Mario Kart- 3DS

My first Mario Kart experience was Super Mario Kart for the SNES. I was a bit of a natural at the game, but HATED the Star powerup back then. I lost SO many times to it in VS races when my friend would hang back on PURPOSE just to get one and blow past me. The Rainbow Road also ticked me off - due to there being NO rails whatsoever. Fell off it SO many times when I first played it.

My first Mario Kart was the GBA one. Then I got MK DS, then the Wii one. Then I later bought the N64 and SNES ones from the Wii Shop Channel. Then I got the GC one just recently.

Here are my rankings:

1. Wii (Obviously)
2. DS
3. N64
4. GC
5. GBA
6. SNES

Wii is my favorite. DS and 64 are still amazing.

GC is meh.

GBA is a little below meh.

SNES: o______o
