I haven't watched in 3 years. Operation Overdrive killed it. Lightspeed Rescue is my favorite after Zeo. Space and Time Force were pretty good.

I might watch Samurai...hopefully, it has the late 90's style of the series.

I don't want it to go back to the late 90's style. If only Saban embraced how the Sentais were, it would be a whole heck of alot better. Samurai would immediately be good. But 90's style, I never really watched Power Rangers through the 90's so, I can't really see how that would be.

If it sticks to the sentai.

Damn right! Except, what about Wild Force? It practicly WAS the sentai, except for some bad acting and a couple other things, a lot of people dismiss it compared to a lot of others.

Now true, Gaoranger was decent and so was Wild Force from what I heard.

Shinkenger was good so if Samurai sticks to the Sentai and it has good acting, and from the recent promo, it looked decent, than all will be good.

I've watched the Sentais. Most of them aren't that good except for Jetman, Zyuranger, Gogo-V, and Timeranger. If anything, most of the pre-Disney Power Rangers seasons outdid their original source material. With all the bad acting in Power Rangers, it was less cringing than the Sentai at times, especially the 90's ones.

The late 90's style (Power Rangers In Space-Wild Force) was darker, and more addictive than even the Sentai source material. The stories were less standard, and distinctive each season. All the Saban-era seasons had their own styles and story-telling for a different experience each time aside from the team motif and zords.

Hopefully, Saban can bring us another space opera with the music style of the post-On Space era. Space opera worked with Lost Galaxy and it's nature themes.

What 'chu talkin' 'bout bro? I have only seen Gaoranger and Dekaranger - Shinkenger, from what I can tell, it depends on how you look at it. If you like darker plots, the best may be the early ones, I don't know I've only seen the ones I've mentioned. If you like a more lighthearted feel, then your best bet is the newer Sentai. But MOST of them have WAY better finales than Power Rangers... Except for say WF/Gaoranger... IT'S THE SAME EXACT THING! It's like, why not have just dubbed Gaoranger? Watching all the Sentai would be a pain since the site I get the shows from is not that proffesional in translation, and that bugs me. Also, the video quality can get on my nerves, although it grows on me. (ie the Showa and early Heisei Kamen Rider have wierd video and/or bad quality. Early Heisei shows have a wierd homevideo quality to it and I am now watching kamen rider, so I get used to it.)

Personally, I don't see how 'cringing' has anything to do with it. It isn't THAT bad. Overusage of words to sound smart? I don't know...

I think your coming from some kind of die-hard PR fan. There is in no way, PR outdoes the Sentai in ANY way. I can't even see how it's an opinion. Unless you speak Japanese, it's hard to tell if it's bad acting or not. Sentai is just an overall better series. Plot and Acting wise. I mean, the whole cheese feel can't make a series good. It makes it fun. But sentai was also fun. PR is fun, but in no way a "good" series. Sentai is a "good" series. PR just kind of goes with what they have. One minute, they take a plot from Sentai and make it good and epic, other times they'd take a somewhat mediocre plot from sentai and turn it in to a very minor subplot. But... wether you like Sentai or PR is all a matter of opinion I guess. I for one, like both, but Sentai just 3% more. :D

Finale-wise, In Space and Lost Galaxy were far superior to their Sentai source material. In Space featured an intergalactic invasion involving every villain from the first 6 seasons, while Megaranger featured a battle between Mega Voyager and the Dark Fortress (used for the Tankenstein fight in PRIS.) Lost Galaxy had a really chilling finale where the villain turns her entire army into suicide bombers to destroy the space colony, and they destroy 2 Megazords this way. I believe Gingaman's finale was just the Ditanix fight (look up the fight on yt.)

I liked Wild Force over Gaoranger for the Time Force and Forever Red episodes. Also, the Red Ranger's bad-acting made me laugh, especially at the end when they stand up to Master Org without their powers.

The cheesiness of Power Rangers is what makes the show much more fun to watch, especially the earlier shows (you can find basically every episode on youtube.) Even when the plots were stupid, like destroying the Pink Rangers parade float, or baking the Rangers in a giant pizza, they were fun to watch, and a great way to kick back and waste time.

I'm not a die-hard PR fan. I'm more than open-minded to watching Sentai, mainly the darker ones from the 90's-2000. I'm really turned off by the lighter-hearted Sentai of the 2000's. Though, the darker Sentais of the 90's had really painful over-acting, worse than Power Rangers and the 2000's Sentais. You'd have to watch plenty of 90's Sentai for yourself to see what I'm talking about with the over-acting.

Off-topic, I really enjoyed the home video quality of the early Heisei riders, Kuuga, Agito, and Ryuki being my favorite Rider series. It gave the shows a somewhat realistic feel, especially Kuuga despite the unconvincing suit designs.

Off topic, yeah it did grow on me to the point to which I didn't care for it. Still kind of bugged me when I first started watching. (Main reason why I watched W first, than the earlier.

I'm not trying to start a deep arguement, but would you perhaps, know how to speak Japanese? It's almost impossible for me to know if it's bad acting or not unless it was REALLY bad acting. But I've never watched the earlier 90's - 2000. New gen of the Sentai only suits me because I came in late, I guess. The fact that the earlier Sentai never peaked my intrest and I was pretty sure it was going to have bad subtitles (not that the newest one's do, but they're probaly better). But don't both PR and Sentai have overacting? You gotta admit, at the finale usually, they do go a tad overboard and the Disney Era is just WAY to rushed for the finale it seems. And though PR is cheesy and fun, there (For me atleast) is a certain charm to Sentai. Not that it's the original, though that is one part, it's the fact that it can be truly hilarious, if you know what they're talking about. PR can be funny, but that's usually only on special occasions or because of the acting and such. It also seems that the Sentai have better telling of it's story. Since I watched the Sentai and then the PR counterpart, I feel that PR is just a watered down version of it's counter. If you think about it, it's shorter, wastes a lot of characters and their potential, wastes a lot of intresting subplots from the sentai. And the ending's have been getting worse, and worse of the past years. Though it is my opinion, I have also state that I can watch PR in a day or two, while Sentai usually can take me anywhere from 5 days to a month +. I like to savor Sentai and just get PR over with. But that's only for the Disney Era. I have only watched a little of the early seasons, but do not plan to since I no longer have that much of an intrest of PR anymore. (Though I am excited for Samurai)

I have not seen Gingaman or Megaranger, so I do not know their endings and the only reason why I know In Space and Lost Galaxy's Finales was because of Linkara of his HOPR. I cannot compare the two because of that.

When they face Master Org and the finale, it's EXACTLY the same as the Sentai finale. No exaggeration, it's IDENTICAL in practicly every way. If you've seen the Sentai of course. As for the team ups, never watched 'em. Only Forever Red which is entertaining as hell and I will watch it whenever I can, but Gaorangers Anniversery Team-Up is SO much better, even if you haven't seen the previous seasons. I mean, it's an entire movie! While I do believe Forever Red was only 30 minutes, (correct me if I'm wrong).

I guess it's all mainly opinion based though. Your opinion was very intresting. But the one fact here, as we all know, is in fact, Kamen Rider is better than both Sentai and PR and... ORE SANJOU!
