NeXodus
Because it is released, I thought I'd give my quick thoughts and leave it to the rest of the community to give their opinions IF you've seen it. Well everyone.Samurai was finally shown on February 7, 2011 at 6:30 P.M. (where I live which is Mountain Time, you do the math) Overall, the (sorta) first episode was pretty damn good. The problem was that people have been rumoring or saying that it wasn't the first episode, but the third. Or something like that. (It was the third episode's plot of Shinkenger I believe) The plot is basicly the same as Shinkenger just different names. From what I could gather, the Rangers are fighting the "Nighlocks" led by Master Xandred. Yep... That's about it for now plotwise. The acting/characters were like all other Power ranger seasons, cheesy. To be honest it wasn't that good but that's you expect from Power Rangers. (lol) Except for maybe the villians but they had about one scene and it was just talking... Nothing that added to the plot. Suits/armory were good. But I already watched Shinkenger so lol to me. I believe it is Kanji on their helmets though I'm not too sure. They look like samurais... Yep. The megazord is a samurai, but my gripe is when they head into the Megazord, they unnecassarily go into this wierd armor-like suits. Which makes them look like toys. And it wasn't in the Sentai. I don't think it's good and it adds absolutely nothing. It is fine asthetic wise, and a nice little addition, but like I said, it adds nothing to anything. Overall, the first episode was good. Though not introducing ANY characters because apparently it isn't the first episode, it was a nice premiere.
Phantom Roxas
It's long since been confirmed that it will be based on Shinkenger and be called Power Rangers Samurai. They already announced the cast. http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=139254
NeXodus
Wow, never knew that, I still believe it should've been adapted from Goseiger since that is the recent one, Shinkenger was released months ago if my memory serves.Plus, I really can't see that, since, well, ya know, it's mainly based around japanese things, take the helmets for example, so it seems wierd. And I mean, the morphing sequence and morphers.Paintbrushes... -_-And 2 other things, origami zords? How will that translate to america? The Sentai this is based on is very jap oriented. Goseiger seems more logical to adapt to since the actual helmets, etc. actually stick to a traditional feel instead of symbols thatreally aren't american based. Oh well, atleast it's Saban and not Disney, don't get me wrong, Disney did a fine job, but it's time to bring Saban back into the image. The revamp of MMPR was nice though! EDIT: A little edit, Shinkenger came out way back in '09, which means the new season of Sentai should be out the same year as the new PR if I'm correct. Since, they usually start a new season each year. And because Goseiger came out in '10, that seems logical, still, but oh well. Shinkenger seems fine. Phantom Roxas
There is absolutely no reason for them to skip Shinkenger. They can just work around the Japanese influences anyway. The legal issues were the cause for the delay in getting Shinkenger, so they can just get through that and get to Goseiger. To my knowledge, Disney's work on the series was mixed. Ninja Storm was campy, Dino Thunder was apparently good, the Kalish era (S.P.D. through Jungle Fury) was awful from what I've heard, but RPM's awesome. I know there's no reason, but if you watched (Not saying you didn't) the first couple of episodes, there are alot of Japenese cultral things. Like Japenese writings in the background of the megazord's cockpit. I'm not saying they can change it and stuff, but it seems that Goseiger is much better to adapt to. But I geuss it's just my opinion, although I have to admit, Shinkenger looks like a pretty fine series. And I thought the first couple of episodes of SPD were good, Mystic Force was meh, and I quite enjoyed Jungle Fury, from what I saw. (Which was half of the series.) Warrior_Tal
In my opinion, the only Power Ranger seasons I enjoyed where Mighty Morphin, Turbo, In Space, and Operation Overdrive. The others were okay and they peaked my interest a lot. Mystic Force seemed a little wierd to me and I loved Jungle Fury because of the bring back of animals and all. It's good they are bringing them back and I can't wait for the new series to start up in Power Rangers.
TAG
It's long since been confirmed that it will be based on Shinkenger and be called Power Rangers Samurai. They already announced the cast. http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=139254 Well, I must say that the Ranger costume helmets look REALLY weird. Cast looks nice, though. Seeing that Mack fellow being referred to as the new Skull makes me sad because I know that he's not Skull. No one will ever be able to replace Bulk and Skull. There is absolutely no reason for them to skip Shinkenger. They can just work around the Japanese influences anyway. NeXodus
If Mystic Force was a part of that, then you can definitely say that it was awful. Easily the worst PR series to date IMO. Well, to be honest, I'm watching all of the PRMF season, and it isn't that bad, since it's basicly the only season to focus more on the magic then the tech. (EX. Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Operation Overdrive, SPD, and RPM.) Not counting the others that weren't metioned, because they were focused on mystical things, but more on the animals and the dinosaurs. I'm only counting Zeo because unlike MMPR, it's more around the tech, then the actual animals and such. Though Zordon did prefer technology.Lost Galaxy, Wild Force, and most of the Disney Era, consist of mystical animals or in Dino Thunders case, Dinosaurs. But not much of magic, looking at Mystic Force. And it really isn't as bad as OO in my humble opinion, OO was... boring. But I do love Jungle Fury. Mystic Force is just very enjoyable. Not bad. But not good. The acting is normal for PR and I like the magic concept. And it's executed fairly well. So, just stating my opinion. My least favorite though has got to be Lightspeed Rescue. :|
Phantom Roxas
Mystic Force was the second season of the Kalish era, so yeah. The final form for the villain in Mystic Force is all that looks good. TV Tropes mentioned that Operation Overdrive is considered the worse. The themes for MF and OO are terrible, the theme for JF is a bit catchy, but the sunglasses morphers are lame. The Gekiranger glove morphers are awesome though. However, the Red Mystic Force Ranger is apparently one of the biggest examples of hogging the screentime, so that's bad enough. Of the Kalish era, I only plan to watch SPD, since that has the annual team-up and I'm curious as to why Sam is considered one of the worst Rangers ever. I do believe OO is the worst, but the "Once A Ranger" isn't that bad... cause it's got Adam in it! :DNo, but in all seriousness, I don't plan on watching OO.I do agree on the sunglass morphers, but if you look at their helmets, I sorta makes sense. Maybe it's just because they designed the sunglasses like the visors on the helmets.I think it was a nice try in bringing something new to the table instead of the traditional wrist morpher or cellphone.SPD is ok, but I don't think it's all that great. But I guess it's my opinion. But what I do like is it has 2 team ups with the Dino Rangers. And the mytic force thing, I guess it's people owns opinions, even though it may be bad, it's still enjoyable. Kinda like most of the disney era! Maybe Saban will bring back the charm and slightly good acting for power rangers standards. We will just have to see.

NeXodus
Samurai? Didn't they already do the Green Samurai Ranger?True. I dunno. I guess you could argue that he was a part of the disney era and the new one is going to be apart of the... Saban Era? The NEW Saban Era.
Phantom Roxas
In Japan, Cameron's counterpart was a ninja. Plus, he was only one ranger. And the seven year rule has passed, so it's totally fine for them to do a season where the entire team is made up of samurai. I'll go with this: Saban Generation (Zordon Era and Post-Zordon Era: Mighty Morphin through Wild Force), Disney Generation (Ninja Storm through RPM. SPD through Jungle Fury form the Kalish Era), and the New Saban Generation.

Kuri
I thought the franchise died. Glad its back anyways cus its nice to see my all time favorite childhood show get turned into effin adults (mainly) fighting with a predictable plot (at some point(s) )....I swear this season better be good, cus the showed felt dead to me when Jungle Fury came out, best season was Wild Force....<3 I'm not trying to imply that the show sucks, but its plots are just too predictable or is it that my maturity has gone to my head...stupid hormones! Expect me to be watching this up until the point the red ranger gets his battle armor cus then it gets bad from there.... Not Surprised they switch to nick since it is the last surviving channel with some of my favorite childhood shows on. Disney killed themselves a bit, but not as bad as CN
Phantom Roxas
best season was Wild Force....<3 You're probably the first person I know to say that, and I did like Wild Force. Time Force and RPM are great though. People should watch Linkara's look back on the franchise. http://bit.ly/aQTMwy

J-Max
Nothing beats the original series. I always cracked up hearing the Blue Ranger Billy shout out "Tricerotops" in the Transformation scene lol. Also Rita Repulsa was a awesome baddie. NeXodus
I just saw all episodes of Shinkenger, and can anyone tell me if the cast are going to be the same height as their counterparts? Since, watching the whole season, I just thought about someone being as short as Kotoha (if you've seen the show, you'd know what I'm talking about) because she's pretty short. Not too short, but short. And I'd also like to know if they are going to make the characters have the same personalities. I'd love to see a Genta American-Counterpart. :s
