This will be my first contest, and after alot thought I have decided to do one based off of the skills of other people

This contest is to test the skills and creativity of our members here at YCM. As each round becomes increasing difficult, you will start to see who really has the skill sets of a YCM Member. After every round, we will eliminate 1 person and the winner of that round will be awarded with 1 rep. Only 12 contestants will be allowed to enter so don't wait.

Start Time: When we have 8 contestant are chosen or August 26, whichever comes first.

End time : The contest will end in about 2-3 weeks after we start.

Standard YCM rules apply and this contest is based off of a first come, first serve basis. (meaning if you have a card and someone else posts it before you do, you must fix your card so that it is different.

Also the rules of being Disqualified are as followed.

You can onlt be disqualified if you dont make a card on time. In this case, that will count for the person eliminated and everyelse is safe.

To qualify, you must post 1 card (can be pre made or new) and depending on your member LV. that is how many points you need to put into the pot.

1 star=10

2 stars=20

3 stars=40

4 stars and over=50

[spoiler=Round 1: Vanilla's are cards too.]

Due to some time restraints and other things, I begin Round 1. Now I know most of the members of YCM don't care for Vanilla cards but to be the best at creating cards, you must be diverse in all areas (which include being descriptive). Your task is very simple. Create a Vanilla Card. You have 34 hours. Good luck.

 

To announce the Verdict

[spoiler=Eliminated]

All cards were done beautifully and met all requirements. So It was basically down to what card matched, The OCG, and other basics. Unfortunatly Malignant you are to be eliminated tonite. Your pic looked alittle squished as if it did not fit and you don't start a sentence with "and". I'm sorry but i'm glad you were in the round.

The Round goes to Spoon. His comical desciption made his ferocious dragon seem like a joke till it snagged you and ate you. His description was very spot on and the whole concept was very original. Kudo's to you.

 

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=Round 2: Member's Only]

Member's cards not only express individually but also tells other member's more about who you are, whether you relieze this or not. You job this time is to create a member card for 1 person in this competition. I have randomly put you with which member you will be doing a member card for:

For this round only, you will be judging each other. So when I tell you, I want you to pm me who was the best and the worst.

Make sure to explain your reasonings AND you cannot pick yourself.

After looking at the cards you made and your judging, Let me tell you, it was real close for 2 of you. but I can only come up with 1 winner for the round. That winner is Spoon yet again. Not only did he show who Shelds9 is but it was most well like by everyone. Once again Kudo's to you

 

 

 

 

 

[spoiler=Round 3: Its Time to Duel!]

Catch Phases. Almost Every Cartoon and Comic Book hero has one. Your job this time is to make a set of 2 cards.Th e first one must be about the Catch Phrase and either be a Spell or Trap and must include 1 card name on it. The 2nd must be the character using the catch phrase and must be an Effect Monster. The effect must be about the catch phrase. Good Luck.

 

[spoiler=Verdict for Round 3:]

After seeing the contenders and there famous catch phrases, I have to pick the winner of the round and the one, who sadly, will be eliminated.

 

So here is my thoughts so far:

 

Spoon, as always phenomenal job on your pair. Duke Nukem is one of my all time favorite character in the VG char. My only concern for you though is that while the Monster Card is awesome, the Spell card seem to be bit OP'd. Especially that last effect. I know Duke is just badass in every way, I would like to have seen some more balance.

 

Frozenblade, I like the Uniqueness of your cards. They are not well known and I do like that. The effects for both work well with one another and could see it in a duel. Twp things did catch my attention. First is the words in the pic. Yugioh cards dont have words in their pics and I would all cards to be like this. Second is OCG. Make sure you capitalize what needs to be capitalize.

 

The_Duck: All time classic. The Flame counters are a nice touch, showing what Mario's abilities are. And the connection between monster and spell is also nice. However Your pics have nothing do not show off the effects. Maybe if it was showing mario shooting fireballs and a pic with background....

 

king of dyspraxia: Bugs Bunny, you couldn't go wrong there. I especially like the Catch phrase card. not only did it show the catch phrase correctly, but also the effect basically described what happens when Bugs pops up and says his line. I also like the fact that Bugs is a toon monster. What I dont understand is Bugs last effect and havent I seen that card before?

 

Unfortunatly The_Duck, I didnt feel you cards were like real Yugioh cards and have to eliminate you. It was hard deciding but it felt that your cards lacked that feel. So thank you and Adieu

king of dyspraxia. Overall the best and most balanced card out there, So Kudos to you. Just one question. IS that card use in the cartoon contest recently. If it is, I want to remind you to use new cards but ill let slide because no one knew.

Down to the final three. I so excited with joy. Enough with that for this round you need make me card. BUT you have to choose one of three finalists qualification cards and redo it in your own image. the only things you must do is keep the name of the card and have the original creator's name on it. Otherwise knock yourself out. You have 32 hrs from when this is posted. Good Luck.

 

So now the Verdict:

Frozenblade we have to say goodbye to you. OCG is what makes a card sound like a card. If a card dosent make sense, how can anybody use it correctly.

 

Spoon once again takes the round, taking something simple and and making it better. Someone has to stop Spoon From winning every Round!

 

 

 

[spoiler=Final Round: Story of a Life Time.]

congrats Spoon and king of dyspraxial for making it this far. You have survived these tough Rounds to come here. Now the only question is can you survive this round?

You'll need to make a set of 5 cards that not only flow well together but tell a story in the process. Here is what you have to include:

-2 monsters, 1 spell, and 1 trap

-You must have a one of the cards tell us the location of the story

-You must have a protagonist

-No Vanilla monsters

-You must show a plot on one of the card's effect without it being obvious

You have 72 hrs, so good luck.

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing 1 DARK and 1 LIGHT monster in your Graveyard from play. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, select 1 monster you control and roll a six-sided die. If the result is a 1, 2, 5, or 6, inflict damage equal to the level of the selected monster x 100. If the result is a 3 or 4, inflict damage equal to half its ATK OR half its DEF. If this card is in your hand, you can reveal it to inflict 500 damage to both players.

This card is changed to Defense Position when it is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned successfully. During your Standby Phase, you can select 1 Deck on the field (including Extra Decks) and check it. You cannot activate Spell Cards in the turn this effect was used. Decks are not shuffled as long as this card remains face-up on the field. This card cannot be selected as a target for the effects of Monster, Spell and Trap Cards if you control a face-up "Royal Magical Library". Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card (max. 10). You can remove 5 Spell Counters from this card to add 1 card from your Deck to your hand.

Lore:

This serpent-like hybrid between a plant and a dragon lives only in the darkest of forests and is widely known for it's insatible hunger. Although unable to fly, it has no problems hunting down it's prey to satisfy that hunger. How, you ask? Everybody who wanted to investigate that any further got lost. But, sometimes, you can see strangely shaped plants at the outskirts of said forest. They tend to bite. Preferably the curious ones. Any more questions?
