No one knows what sprung the Merfolk population, but their population continued to grow until it occupied most of the underwater depths. Most human peasants are superstitious folk and avoid the oceans at all costs, but Merfolk are really peaceful.
Well, most of them, anyway.

A resistance has sprung up against the kind and good-natured ruling of King Sylemon. They are the most violent uprising the underwater world has ever seen.
The world above does not know of this, and blame the entire civilization of merfolk for the sudden attacks they are getting.
The resistance, which takes up the name Stone Tyranny, wants the entire world; underwater and overwater.
The humans attack both the peaceful mer and the resistance mer.
The peaceful mer have no choice but to send forces out to meet the resistance, and to meet the humans.


Who will win?

This obviously takes place in a medieval setting.
The king of the humans is named King Corinth. He is an aggressive man, but does have some brains about him.
The king of the merfolk is Sylemon, obviously.
The ruler of the resistance is a mean mer that has nicknamed himself Maverick. But his true name has yet to be revealed.

Humans cannot breathe underwater, obviously.
The merfolk can breathe both underwater and overwater, though most need practice before they are able to breathe over water and usually have trouble unless they have practiced hard.
They have a set of gills along the top of their shoulder, just below the neck, and they have a normal face and mouth and rest of human body like, well, humans.

Personality: She is a very personable mermaid, usually happy and good-natured to all of her friends. If you don't know her, she approaches you with caution but attempts to make friends. She feels contempt towards the Resistance and their petty and violent ways, and is definitely allied with the kingdom on this one. If you are her enemy, tread carefully around her! She has a sharp insult and sarcastic comment for anything you say to her, and she also is skilled with the bow and arrow she carries around underwater (yes they DO work underwater, though currents are like wind there; if its a strong current the arrow will be swept away.)

Personality: she feels contempt towards the kingdom and their gentle ways; she is violent and most definitely one of the most evil mermaids around (no she is not the leader of the resistance). She loves spoiling others's plans unless they are on the same side as her, and she loves wreaking destruction and havoc. She is a valued member of the resistance. She hates all people of the kingdom and seeks to ruin their lives.

Because of his brute strength and his insults, fo they are vicious and sometimes cruel.
