Dharc
EDIT: This is now a general Pokemon Anime discussion thread for everything. Enjoy. I will continually update this with new info and such, and feel free to contribute as much as you would like. Alright, while this may seem random to post a topic based on one episode of Pokemon-DP, I looked at all the comments on YouTube and there is a lot of speculation on his 6th Pokemon and debate over Satoshi's/Ash's choices and whether or not Takuto/Darkrai Trainer will be using any other Pokemon in the battle. So, I created this thread just for that. Now, Speculation: Ash's sixth Pokemon chances by percentage-- Charizard: 54% Totodile: 19% Infernape: 12% Snorlax: 7% Other: 8% Satoshi/Ash's Decisions: Heracross: Excellent choice. Has two advantages over Darkrai and is a powerful battler. I support this all the way. Pikachu: Well, it's Satoshi's final battle, so it'd make sense if everyone's second-favorite electric rodent (Here's looking at you, Pichu!) was on the team. Sceptile: An odd choice, but he is very strong. Don't see any particular advantage over Darkrai unless he learned X-Scissor or something. I'm on the fence about this. Gible: Eh...Not too sure about this...He seems a bit inexperienced to be going against a Legendary like that. Unless he evolves into Gabite and Garchomp during the battle, this is not a good sign... Torkoal: WHAT THE F*** IS ASH SMOKING? But seriously, the WORST decision he could have EVER made...Well, aside from Kingler. But Torkoal? That'd be like bringing a stick into a fight against a giant mecha. I swear, if Torkoal beats Darkrai, I will crap my pants. MY Decision's: Heracross: Look up. Pikachu: Look up. Charizard: Ahem. Allow me to introduce our protagonist's BEST POKEMON. Don't believe me? Look up Seismic Toss on YouTube. When you aren't looking at PBR clips, you see Charizard finishing Magmar, Blastoise, and Articuno. Still don't believe me? Articuno, as I just said. Hmm...A legendary you say? Charizard beat him. What is Darkrai? A Legendary, you say? Pidgeot: An odd choice, yes. But, he WAS powerful, and I'd love the nostalgia of it. Also, seems unexpected (Like Primeape), and most would be surprised by this. Honestly, I think this would be a good choice due to access to a good amount of powerful movepools. Definitely stronger than Gliscor was, and again, a powerful battler. Infernape: DP188. 'Nuff said. Primape: Yeh, been a long time since we've seen him. But he'd be a good choice for multiple reasons. Number 1: His typing. Being pure Fighting, he has a distinct advantage over Darkrai. Number 2: Vital Spirit. This prevents Primeape from falling asleep. So, that means he can fight Darkrai uninhibited. Probably his best choice alongside Charizard and Heracross.
burnpsy
They won't bring Charizard back to lose AGAIN. Seriously. They brought it back to lost against a Dusclops almost immediately, they won't do the same thing for Ash's upcoming loss against Darkrai. In any case, in response to what you said about Gible and Torkoal, I'd like to point out that Ash's Krabby swept a team and evolved with NO other battles on screen in the same episode before. Whether or not they were good before has nothing to do with this.
Dharc
Yes, I guess you're right, but still, Torkoal is not known for his battling prowess. And Gible is getting better, I will admit. However, I wish he would evolve. Also, what do you think of my Primeape suggestion?
burnpsy
It could happen. I'm sure there are people out there who want to see Primeape. However, I would expect him to return in order to win. As it's confirmed that Ash loses, that would be quite sad for Primeape...
Dharc
Well, it's not confirmed he loses, it is only confirmed the battle between him and Takuto ends in the same episode it began in. And it's never seen that any of his pokemon are defeated, just they all battle Darkrai. But you're right, he most likely will lose. Still, I'd like to see Charizard, seeing as how he hasn't appeared in Sinnoh yet.

burnpsy
I honestly don't care. My only opinion on the matter amounts to "It's definitely a Pokemon alright!".
Kuri
what the hell happened to tauros and cyndiquil? Charizard overall is way stronger than any legendary including mudkip. I want to see ash use Ho-Oh!!! It was basically the only Legendary Ash caught *not literally

JadenxAtemYAOI
I'd like to see ash pull Mewtwo's poke ball (doesn't have one I know) out of his a$$ and have everyone be like "what in the hell is that?" But seriously I'd like to see Ash use Tyranitar for the lulz. He did have a Larvitar

Dharc
That doesn't mean he couldn't have gone back to it. Remember that one opening? What was it called...Spurt, that's it! Also, he could pull...Butterfree (For teh lulz), Lapras (For slightly less lulz), or PIDGEOT. Yeh, him. He'd kick ARSE. Y'know, he's actually gonna replace Totodile on my recommended team. Dharc
Noctowl-Already Pulled. While he does have Heracross, Gible, and Pikachu on there, who have all been pulled earlier, I doubt he's gonna pull a fourth, especially if that fourth is Noctowl (However, he could have also pulled Sceptile and/or Torkoal in the portion of a battle we saw in the episode Barry fought Paul). And on the other three you've mentioned... Squirtle-I'd expect Bulbasaur sooner. Glalie-Should've had that instead of Torkoal, but still has no particular advantage over Darkrai Muk-About as useful as Torkoal. And for Totodile- A lot of people on YouTube have been saying he should pull Toto for this one, but I don't see why other than the fact he has yet to evolve as opposed to the other Johto Starters. Sure, he's strong, and this would give him a chance to prove himself, but he has little advantage other than the elements of surprise and Water, the former doing nothing but phasing Dawn and Brock, and the latter of which having no practicality other than a possible counter for Takuto's other Pokemon, if he has any others. Dharc
Well, the episode has officially aired, and it has been shown Ash's sixth Pokemon was Swellow...SWELLOW? Honestly, almost as bad of a choice as Torkoal. He should've gone with Charizard or something, especially because of Latios. Well, what's done is done, so, does anyone have any other comments before I get this thread locked?
Kuri
weee no subs but who gives a damn I've been trying to look for these videos anyways so here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8AiSOUzZ9c SWELLOW! Dharc
I think Swellow got KO'ed by Giga Impact as soon as he came out, so, yeh...And then Takuto beat some other dude using just Darkrai again, for the trophy. And it has been revealed that Ash is going to use an outfit similar to the one the B&W Protagonist wears during Best Wishes. Oh, and his eyes are GINORMOUS. Hmm...I think I'll just turn this into a discussion thread for Pokemon Anime in general...What do you think?
SMAL
This is all unless that the first part of the B&W series IS the end of the Sinnoh League. Edit-Seen the episode. ._.

In any case, I love how this hinted that Ash is stronger than the guy Takuto faced in the finals.
Ash was the only one who even got to face Latios, and even tied with it. Everyone else lost to Darkrai.
