[♥] Summer Dueling {PG-16/Accepting In OOC Thread/Started}

Mion balked at Jayson's abrupt departure. [i]I guess Jayson-kun is going to the party as well...[/i] she thought, sadly, her eyes downcast. Shoving her deck and Disk back into her faded, lime-green backpack, she looked up at Scarlet and smiled.

"If you ask Lauren-chan, I'm sure you'll get an invitation!" she said, forcing a smile. At the mention of her mother, Mion's grin faltered a bit.

"N-no, I don't think my mother will understand..." she murmured softly. If there was one thing that Mion could not be optimistic about, it was her mother's mood.

Shaking her head to clear her mind of such thoughts, Mion grinned widely at Scarlet and Keegan. "I'll see you guys later! I should really be headed home now!"

Giving each of them a quick hug, Mion walked toward her bike, wheeling it out into the road, starting the journey home.

When she arrived at her beach house, Mion hid her backpack in the bushes, slowly creaking open the door, her eyes wide with apprehension. She started to tiptoe up the stairs...

"Mion Muuuzaki..."

The voice was slurred, and Mion gave a little squeak of surprise. Her mother was standing at the top of the stairs, tipsy. She smelled of sake, and Mion could tell she was drunk.

"Where've you beeeen? I told you to be home at siiix..." her mother hissed, tapping her foot.

Mion knew that it was pointless to argue, so she didn't answer. She had to be brave, remain calm.

"To your rooom," her mother hissed again. Dangerously. Mion quickly ran up the stairs, wincing as her mother whacked her on the back with a wooden spoon.

Mion sniffled a bit as her mother followed her closely, hitting the spoon against her other hand in anticipation.

IC:

Keegan watched as Mion left to go towards her beach house, seeming to be in a rush to go somewhere. Keegan decided that there wasn’t much left to do, since most people were leaving to get ready for the party. Keegan decided to wait on his bench again, to see when Lauren would return from where she had been, to get supplies for the party, so he could talk to her about the party and hang out for a little while before the party started.

Lauren watched the man go before turning to her "stolen" groceries.

"Well," she said aloud, pausing to think, "They aren't really [b]stolen[/b]. I forgot I had them and just ran out here with them. No on said anything so...Maybe it's ok."

Lauren smiled to herself and mounted her D-Wheel. Suddenly she realized something. [i]s***! How am I gonna move these things to my house? I cant take them on the Runner cause their not in bags.[/i] Lauren groaned and slipped off the D-Wheel. Standing there with her hands on her hips, she began ot try thinking of possible ways to transport the drinks and food to her house.

After a moment, she had an idea. Reaching deep into her pocket, Lauren retrieved a long rope that had been in there since the last time she wore the jeans. They had been washed with it in the pocket. She tied the cart to the back of her D-Wheel and stood back to admire her work. A moment later she was on the D-Wheel. With a roar from the engine, Lauren accelerated forward, out of the parking space, toward her house.

Scarlet waved Mion goodbye and watched as the boy left. [i]"A party, huh? Lucky them. It would've been great if I were able to go, but I don't even know who "Lauren" is." The girl then jogged back to her beach house, thinking on her way there. "I might as well go for a ride or something to pass the time." Thought the girl as she got to the beach house. She walked up to the garage and opened it. Inside there was a clear Duel Runner, it seemed as it was made of glass. Scarlet placed her Deck and Duel Disk on the Duel Runner and hopped on it. "Time to take this thing for a ride." Laughed the girl as she rode out of the house. A few minutes later, she was behind somebody else's Duel Runner. "What the hell...?" Muttered the girl as she saw cart attached to the back of the runner.

Lauren turned around and noticed that a young woman was behind her, mounted on her own D-Wheel. Blinking in slight surprise, Lauren steered to the right so that she was no longer in front of the girl. She then slowed to allow her to catch up.

"Uh hi!" she called, waving akwardly to the young woman, "My name is Lauren! Can I help you?" The girl seemed to be startled by the cart tied to the back of the D-Wheel. Lauren smiled akwardly. "Yea, I didnt have bags for them so I couldn't transport them via Duel Runner directly so this is what I came up with!" she said brightly, glancing behind her to check that the cargo was ok. The "cargo" was bumping around vigorously but nothing was broken or damaged. For that, Lauren was greatful.

"Big monster there is big. Oh boy, I get to play a super special awesome card now." As he said this, he placed a card from his Duel Disk into a retractable slot that opened. "Welcome to my world! Necrovalley is in play! With this, all my Keeper's gain an extra five hundred attack and defense, and cards that target the Graveyard have no effect now!" The field slowly transformed into that of a valley that one would likely see in Egypt.

Priestess: 2000 Defense.
Visionary: 2700 Attack.

"And now, Visionary attacks your Baboon! GO! JUDGEMENT OF ANUBIS!

Walters was actually surprised when he shot past the girl he'd seen duelling earlier heading the other way, although he thought fast enough to acknowledge her as he cruised past, noting she now seemed to be in the company of another girl, who was riding a runner which looked as though it was made of glass - though Walter's brain quickly pointed out such a thing would be highly impractical, and the runner was probably some sort of clear plastic instead. It was thus a moment before he realised that the first girl - whom, he also realised, he didn't have a name for - was towing a shopping trolley behind her runner. Given the way things were rattling, he fully expected something to fall out or leak soon, so he made a U-turn and set off in pursuit of the other runners.

Nukaka's eyes brightened as the field around her changed. "Ohhh pretty Egypt. The sun...the sand...kinda like the Beach but without the ocean nya...AND MORE PYRAMIDS!!" She said as the started jumping around the holograms again. "I've decided i like the two of you nya. If ya don't mind imma just follow the two of ya around after this duel is over Nya." She said as she scratched at her hair under the hoodie. "Heheh saltwater's in mah hair hehehe."

Scarlet laughed as the girl explained why she did that with the cart. "Well that's...creative..?" She smirked and looked at the cart as it bashed around violently. "Anyways, I'm Scarlet. Uhh...maybe I can help you with that?" She then suddenly realized that the girl's name is Lauren, and remembered who was hosting the party. "Lauren...is it? You know, some body I know may have been talking about you before. I'm not positive that it's you, but your name is Lauren, and so far you're the only Lauren that I've met." She then tried to change the subject. She didn't want to just ask if she can go to the party to a person she just met. "So, you're a duelist?"

[Nathanael D. Striker]

It was another beautiful day in Miami. The sun was glowing in the water. Jonathan just got up from his afternoon nap. "Ah, nothing feels better than an afternoon duel," said Jonathan as he got a box out. "Time to see if this robot duelist is worth the money I paid for it." Jonathan dumped all the pieces on the ground and started building his robot. [i]This piece goes here, that piece goes there.[/i] An hour passed and Jonathan had finished the frame. He started working on the robot's systems. "For a simple machine, this robot has advanced systems." Jonathan was getting hungry so he went inside his kitchen for a bite to eat. [i]I remember the good old days. I was a two time dueling champion until Mike Ta'on managed to defeat my Counter Fairies. Now, I have the best deck in the world. My Stun D.D. Deck.[/i] He grabbed a sandwich from the fridge and a root beer and went outside to eat. [i]I wonder who my first real opponent will be?[/i]

Lauren blinked in surprise. [i]Someone was talking about me?[/i] she thought. Shaking her head slightly to erase the thought, Lauren beamed at Scarlet "That would be so awesome! Could you?" she said glancing back at the crat which by now had lost a wheel. "I really don't want to loss all that stuff." She looked back at Scarlet "Yep I'm a duelist! Both turbo and ground duelist! I might not be the greatest but Im decent," she said laughing softly. "What about you? You have a Runner so I'm assuming you are?"

[Ice.]

"I'm not that good of a Duelist either, but I'm alright. Although I do prefer ground duels." She then pulled over and stopped her Duel Runner. She smirked and signaled for the girl to pull over too. "I'll take some of that stuff and put it here..." The girl then pushed a button and a section of the Runner opened. There was enough room to store most of the stuff in it. "That's the "trunk" of my Duel Runner, if you wish to call it that." Scarlet then though of a great idea, well in her mind at least. "How about we have a Ground Duel right now?"

Lauren turned off her runner and let it stand. Moving to the cart tethered to the back of her D-Wheel, Lauren smiled and thought for a moment. "Yea sure!" she said brightly, looking up at Scarlet and smiling wider, "It'll be fun!" She shuffled around in the cart for a moment and fished out some bottles of beer, vodka, and other drinks. Shuffling over to Scarlet's "trunk" Lauren jerked her head to the left to force some of her hair that was sticking to her face away. She gently dropped the bottles into the trunk and moved back to retrieve some boxes of food and added them to the trunk. She repeated this until it was full, then she walked to the front of her duel runner. Pressing a button just above her duel disk, the disk was detatched from the D-Wheel and Lauren slide it onto her arm, lifting it up and walking to the opposite end of the street. With her free hand she reached into her right back pocket and extracted a deck. "Ready?" she called to Scarlet and slid her deck into the Deck Slot.

IC: Jayson eventually made it back to his Blue Beach house and was about to open the door when he looked around his neighbour's houses he could see a blue green house and a brown beach house the blue green one caught most of his attention. [color=blue]"Is that Laurens house? If so we will be neighbours! Hopefully there will be loud music next door at the party so I can tell for certain that its laurens house."[/color] Jayson walked into his house and went to get something to eat he had filled his pantry and fridge with all kinds of food earlier today. He grabbed some Nacho's and put some cheese on it then put it in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. Then went upstairs to get changed for the party. [color=blue]"Hmm, should I wear a tuxedo to impress the ladies? Or go with something casual? Hm, decisions, decisions."[/color] Suddenly he heard the beeping from the microwave that sounded off when the food was ready, he raced down the stairs to get the nachoes from the microwave. [color=blue]"Mmm Dinner time, AH F***ing jesus thats hotter than I expected..."[/color] His hands started stinging luckily it didn't severly burn his hands. [color=blue]"Phew, thank god it didn't burn my hands otherwise no dueling for some time."[/color] Jayson looked as his dinner fell on the floor he picked it up and put it in the bin, he hates eating food from the floor. [color=blue]"Oh well, at least there will be food at the party."[/color] Jayson walked up stairs with a glum look on his face [color=blue]"...At least I hope so."[/color] Jayson added and then returned to his room to get changed.

Scarlet walked up to her Duel Runner and did the same, de-attached her Duel Disk and pulled out her Deck. She shuffled it around and placed it in the Duel Disk as it lit up. "Yeah, I'm ready." Said Scarlet as she drew 5 cards. [i]"This is a great hand so far. Hopefully I'll be able to get Extrio out this duel." [/i]Scarlet brushed her hair out of her face as she thought over things. "I prefer going second, so you can go first, Lauren." Said the girl as she smirked at her hand. [i]"I should be able to get Landoise out pretty fast, but that'll get rid of all of my Monsters." [/i]

Keegan stood up at the sound of two duel runners getting ready to turbo duel. [i]Ah, a turbo duel to watch before the party [/i] Keegan said as he approached the two duellists on their duel runners. Keegan recognized the two duellists: one being Lauren and the other, the girl who Mion was talking too early in the day. [i]This should be an interesting duel. I wonder if Lauren can get a combo that she tried to place against me [/i] Keegan thought smiling as he stood a safe distance from the two duel runners.

Lauren nodded and drew her respective 5 cards, then drew another. Glancing down at her hand, she smiled to herself. "Alright" she declared, shifting a little, "I'll start by activating the Spell Card Sad Story - Dreadful Day!" Pulling a card from the center of her hand, Lauren slipped the card into the middle Spell/Trap card zone. The card revealed itself a second later. "With this card in play, if either of us draws a Trap Card, we must immediatly return it to our decks and shuffle them!" [i]Hopefully that'll stop her using anything big[/i] thought Lauren, gazing at her hand again. Plucking another card from it, she looked up and placed the card vertically in a monster card zone. "Now I Special Summon Jester Confit, in Attack Position," she said, just as a small plump clown came into being before her. The clown was standing one legged on a ball. "Next I Set a monster face-down with 2 face-downs!" she called, acting accordingly. "Your move."

It was dancing cheerfully as it popped out of the card, the flowers on it's head swaying around. "Okay, I draw! I just drew a Spell, so I'm fine for now, I guess. Next, I Normal Summon Naturia Spiderfang!" Just then, a cutesy spider appeared. It's eyes looked Drowsy as it appeared and it tried it's best to stay awake. "Now, Naturia Cosmobeet, attack Jester Confit!" Yelled Scarlet as the small orb ran towards Jester Confit. [i]"If she has something, Spiderfang's effect will kick in." [/i]Thought the girl.

"No way I'm losing Confit!" declared Lauren, pressing a button on her duel disk, "I activate the Trap Card Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" A face-down behind and to the right of Jester Confit sprang up and revealed a metalic Scarecrow, which then popped out of the card and launched itself in front of Jester Confit, causing the beet to bounce off, and back to it's alloted spot. "Now! I activate Gravity Bind! With this card I can keep all Level 4 or higher monster from attacking!" called Lauren, activating another card. Suddenly a dark purple mist descended onto the Spider on Scarlet's field, causing it to flinch.
