[♥] Summer Dueling {PG-16/Accepting In OOC Thread/Started}

Recommended Posts

Walter reached over and shook the offered hand. "I'm Walter," he replied. "Did I disturb you?" he added, having noted the boy taking out ear phones that he hadn't seen from further back.
The boy was probably slightly shorter than Walter would be when standing, although his perspective was skewed from being sat on the runner, and like him, the boy wore glasses. He also seemed to be rather broad about the soldiers, although that bulk didn't really carry on through the rest of his body.
"So," he continued, watching the duel but with an eye on the boy, "are you a local or is this a holiday?"

Lloyd's plane had just arrived in Miamia Florida. He knew he was late to the tournament he'd been invited to. He wasn't sure just how long ago it had started but he knew he'd definitely missed the beginning. Of course the plane ride over was quite enjoyable, but most rides on private jets were. The best part was he didn't have to bother checking his luggage on. It helped because though his Duel Disk could be stored in a smaller space, Lloyd loved to keep it in a suitcase all to itself. He gathered his belongings and stepped off the jet. Today he worse a simple white t-shirt with an dark blue button-up shirt with light blue stripes running along it vertically as well as light brown slacks. The sun was impressive in Miami. That was a problem for an albino like Lloyd. He burned far too easily. He'd have to be sure to stay out of the sun until he was able to apply some sunscreen. Before long he had arrived in the general location of the beach homes those who had been invited would stay in. He found his and was glad to see that it had not been given to someone else in his absence. He set his things down, not yet really wanting to unpack. Though he did open the suitcase with his duel disk and set it on a nearby desk.

"Ah, the original duel disk model! Such a beautiful circular design! So much more appealing than the duel disks one sees nowadays! Who could ask for something more faithful or more beautiful to play the game with?" Lloyd thought as he looked at it. He then pressed a button on the side and the outer parts of the circle retracted in making the model's diameter about half of what it was when it was used to duel. He mounted it on the arm piece that also held the decks and set it on the desk so it would be ready when he set out. He set one deck into the duel disk itself and then pocketed the other two, of course all of his cards were in protective sleeves, each deck having its own sleeve design. After a bit of relaxation he applied some sunscreen and then put his duel disk on over his right arm and set out of the home and looked out over the beach. He didn't see much trace of the other contestants.
"Now where might they be?" he said quietly as he scanned the area. Then something caught his interest. It seemed that far off in the distance two people were dueling. Or at least, he saw moving creatures so he was sure it was a duel.
"I should go check that out." he thought. He then set out and began walking towards the two dueling on the beach.

Scarlet looked at the face-down monster with a little worry as she drew a card. "If it wasn't for that annoying Gravity Bind I wouldn't be in such a lockdown." Thought the girl as the Spider started to disappear. "I tribute Naturia Spiderfang to summon Naturia Bamboo Shoot!" Just then a small wood-like creature resembling a Pine Cone popped out of the ground. "Now, when I tribute summon Bamboo Shoot, you can't activate Spells or Traps! As long as the tribute was a Naturia monster, though!" She then looked at the face-down. "Even though I think that's some kind of defensive monster, I'll let my Cosmobeet attack, and if it's nothing, I'll let Sangan attack and end my turn!" Just then, the brown orb rushed forward yet again, running into the face-down card.

Hand: 0

Lauren pressed a button on her duel disk and the face-down flipped face-up. A blue bird appeared above the card, it seemed to be engulfing itself in it's wings. "Sorry, but again it was a Stealth Bird!" she declared, watching as the brown, Beet, charged at the bird. Stealth Bird lifted a wing and flicked the Beet back towards Scarlet. "With that you take another 700!" Thank you! thought Lauren, As long as I draw my last Confit next turn, I can win this. The thought made her smile warmly but it quickly faded But she still has to finish her turn.

"Um excuse me... I didn't get your name earlier? I'm that guy from the store earlier and I wanted to ask you about the party." Blushing slightly Matt was still ashamed of what happened earlier, him toppling over her D-wheel then having his own skateboard stolen from under him, sure he was about to get a D-wheel after but that wasn't the point. Looking at the duel he had noticed that Lauren seemed to have the duel under wraps, however he didn't think that she used a lockdown deck.

The guy on the duel runner, Walter was his name, had shook Desmonds offered hand. Desmond was kind of surprised when Walter asked if he disturbed him, not many people nowadays have the respect to care if someone else is comfortsable.

"You didn't disturb me, I was just about to take them out anyway." Desmond noticed that Laurens opponent summoned a Naturia Bamboo Shoot, and fell prey to another Stealth Bird for 700 more points of damage. "As for your other question, I'm not a local. I'm from Louisville, KY and am here to relax and have some fun. At least, that's what my parents wanted me to do. But how about you, do you stay down here?"

"I will take my card!" yelled Jonathan as he drew. A poly. Just what I needed to bring out Bounty Hunter. "I put two cards face-down. I then activate Polymerization from my hand. This card lets me fuse my "D.D. Survivor" and "D.D. Scout Plane" to Summon "D.D. Bounty Hunter"!" A vortex appeared on the field engulfing Scout Plane and Survivor. When the vortex disappeared a creature in steel armor and a long sword appeared on the field. "I now get to activate Bounty Hunter's Special Ability. We both must add the cards in our hands to our decks. Since my hand is empty, I don't need to do that." The Robot Duelist complied and did as Jonathan said. "Now, we shuffle our decks and you must remove from play cards in your Deck equal to the amount of cards you added to your Deck." The Robot did as he was told to do. "Now we get to draw 3 cards." Both duelist drew their three cards. Caius is now in my hand. Just need to wait for another poly and Dirg so I can get Deius out. "Bounty Hunter, attack his "Summoned Skull" with dimesional fury." "D.D. Bounty Hunter" went and attacked "Summoned Skull" down to nothing. "I end my turn with that." Just then, Survivor and Scout Plane came back to the field from their effects.

"Only for a few weeks," Walter replied to the other boy's question. "I've spent the last year at u- college on the west coast, and I'm heading back to England soon, but I've got a few weeks here before heading back, so I may as well spend it here - actually, my friends convinced me to come here, otherwise I'd probably be in New York or something, but this is still a nice place to relax."
"So," he continued, "What's Louisville like. Actually, come to think of it, whereabouts is it? US geography wasn't really a requirement for me at school, and most of what I know regards the west coast and the most famous cities. I'm guessing it's in one of those holes in the US I don't know anything about."

Ooc:Dangit, Nothin was happening a while ago so i forgot about this and had to spend 12 minutes reading this....Now i gotta fill in the time gap between now and when i last posted....

Logan roamed around for a while then made his way to the store, he browsed around picking up food then putting it back for somthing that looked better. He eventually got everything he needed and started to haul the food back, one large bag of food in each hand logan started back down the street, about halfway home he noticed some duelist had gathered together and were doing what duelists do best. It wasnt that logan wasnt intrested but he was more worried about his icecream melting than who was winning some duel on the street. Allright i'll go home, Make some food, and enjoy a nice night on the beach...Who knows mabey ill even find someone to duel.

“So you’re from England then, that’s pretty cool. I actually graduated from High School this year. I plan on going to the University of Louisville or a college in New York, though I heard that it’s pretty crowded up there. But I heard they have they have the best pizza up there too.”

“As for Louisville, it’s not the capital of Kentucky, though it is listed on most maps. Louisville is a small city, real easy to get around by bus. I guess that’s why I like it so much. Louisville is one of the few places that connects Kentucky and Indiana, so there’s always business there. As for Kentucky, that’s only a few states north of this one, at least it is on the maps.”

"I draw my card," said the Robot Duelist. "I play "Cost Down". It allows me to reduce the level of 1 monster in my hand by 2. And I now Summon another Summoned Skull. Summoned Skull, attack his Scout Plane."

"I activate Mirror Force!" yelled Jonathan as he pressed a button on his duel disk revealing the card. "Your Summoned Skull is destroyed, but thanks to Dimensional Fissure, it is removed from the game." At that moment, Summoned Skull hit Mirror Force and was destroyed.

"I end my turn," said the Robot Duelist.

"I think I can tell where it is," Walter replied, a map of the US forming in his head. Florida was easy - it was the peninsula - and he knew roughly where the western states were, as well as a couple of cities further east. Kentucky, however, was something of a dark spot, marking that the state was somewhere around there. "Roughly, of course."
"A city you can get around on public transport sounds good," he added, "most cities in the UK - even the big ones - are like that, or at least the ones I've been to are, and I've no reason to believe that the rest of them are any different."

"Well are you going to answer me?!" Liz said now getting a bit irritated. Liz was now loosing it, she doesn't have a lot of patience especially with new people.

"..." Liz lost her smile now. Not caring really about about this guy anymore. Liz hopped off her Duel Runner and took her duel disk off the D-wheel. "I have to go, I'm going to find my friend Matt...." Liz walked back heading towards the direction of Matt were he was talking to Lauren.

"I always wanted to travel," said Desmond. "The United Kingdom was one of those places that I want to visit one day, for vacation or something." He started to say something more when he heard the girl that another guy was talking too start talking too say something a little bit louder than she needed to. It wasn’t a yell, but she was obviously irritated. He saw the girl storm off toward her duel runner, though he didn't know what she said when she spoke again.

"Anyway, the UK is among the many places I want to visit. But I am curious, are there good duelists their. I wouldn't want to go if there isn't."

Jayson looked around the beach and back at the time on his watch which now had read 6:50 pm he wondered if Mion would show up or not. 'Hm, its 6:50 pm and Mi-Chan isn't here yet... Damnit I should have asked for her phone number so I could keep in contact with her, if she had a phone. Well I'm sure she would have a home phone that I could ring.' Jayson turned back into his Beach House and grabbed a phone book and searched for Muzaki eventually he had found it and typed in the numbers into his phone and heard connection noises from the other end of the phoneline. 'I hope that she picks up the phone, So I know if she's coming or not.' Jayson thought as he waited patiently for someone to answer the phone.

"Another one?" Asked the girl, a little annoyed. "Oh well. I end my turn." The girl scanned her field and her opponent's. "I need a Mystical Space Typhoon. If I can pull one, I'll be able to win. She won't be able to activate any Spells or Traps, and I'll be able to deal a decent amount of damage. But if I don't draw it, that Bird will be the death of me." The girl then looked at her life points, they were pretty close to 0 now, and she was starting to worry. "I can't lose now. I need to do something. At least make the game close." Scarlet put her hand on her Deck, getting ready to draw. "C'mon..."

Walter gave a short chuckle. "Sure, we have good duellists," he replied. "Several of them have won world-class tournaments, and we have at least one duellist in the top 8 or better in most international events." He paused for a moment. "I'd saw we preform better in turbo duels than in ground duels, but I think it's probably because there's more money in it, and so our most successful duellists just don't enter ground tournaments and leave it up to the few who never learnt to turbo duel."
"The UK's a great place to visit though. There isn't much in the way of immense mountains, although they're impressive enough whilst your their, but we have a lot of historical stuff, mostly because we have more history than you do here."

Lauren drew her next card. Glancing at it, she sighed and added the card back to her deck. "Pity, it was a Trap Card. Now I'll flip Stealth Bird face-down and end my turn." Lauren bit her bottom lip. Pushing her hair from her eyes, Lauren sighed. This isn't looking very good, she thought. Lauren either needed a Level 5 or 6 monster or she needed her final Jester Confit. Lauren smirked slightly as a new idea formed in her head.
