Points are somewhat the currency of YCM.
You can use them to join contests and buy stuff in shops.
You earn them by posting and winning contests.

and how can buy in the shop forums??

you donate points to the shop owner. to donate points, go to the owners profile, and under their photo should be a "donate points" button. From there it's pretty self explanitory.

Enter Contests.
Buy something from Shops.
Use them to request.
etc.

Points are mainly used for shops. To give points to another user, go to their profile and click the "donate Points" button under their profile picture.
