If you can't tell by the title, this is a new era of Duel Monsters. Which means new Protagonist, new Antagonist, and new Duel Monsters as well. The rules and game mechanics though are the same as they have been today. So, hope you enjoy! After years of working hard, I'm finally a senior! What's even better is that I'm in all of the same classes of my two best friends! That's right, Tyra Degihami and Arjio Kilono. Arjio and I have been best buds since 4th grade, hanging out, dueling, and hitting on some girls in our early high school years. We met when he was getting bullied by a few 5th graders that threatened to steal his deck, that's when I came in to save the day! Okay, so I didn't save the day. We both ended up getting the crud beaten out of us, but it was the start of a friendship, and I managed to save his deck too! Arjio's looks hasn't really changed that day. He still has his spiky light brown hair, brown eyes, and always the same ripped worn out shorts and shirt. Although he does have a thing for shoes. One day their just plain old nike sneakers, the next day, there all customized with searing red flames on the side. He loves to customize things. Tyra and I only have been friends for a couple of years, we just recently met on our first day of high school. I was in a rush because I was late for Rulings 101, and accidentally bumped into her on my way there. I apologized, saying it was all my fault, and that's when I looked up and saw her. Her long silky brown skin, the gleam in her gorgeous blue eyes, and she had quite the body as well. She smiled such a wonderful smile at me, and we introduced ourselves. Since then I've had a crush on her, but looks like I'll be stuck in the friend zone, but I'm okay with that...sorta. She's always wearing her school uniform, in and out of school, but like Arjio, loves customizing her outfit. And me? Well I'm Jay Galishimo. Maybe you've heard about me. I am of course, the number one duelist in the school! Okay, not really. But maybe you've seen me around school. Frumpy black hair, brown eyes, wears black baggy jeans with a white long sleeved shirt, talks to the monsters spirits when it looks like I'm talking to thin air, etc. etc. Oh that last part? Lemme explain it to you. When I was a little kid and got my first card, I was filled with joy. My mom and dad gave it to me on my birthday. The card they gave me was Chaos Sorcerer. When I would go to sleep, I would hear a voice wake me up, which normally scared me, so I would hide under the blankets. Then, one night, I saw him. Chaos Sorcerer was standing right before me. His image was a bit faded, which brought me to the conclusion that he was a ghost! He laughed quite a deep laugh, and explained he wasn't a ghost, but something close to it at the least. He told me that I was one of the few duelist in the world that had the 'gift'. This gift was I had the ability to talk to monsters spirits. Since that day, every new monster I obtained I was able to talk to and play with. Yeah, it looked kinda weird when my parents would walk in and see me talking or playing with nobody in my room. They got use to it though. Okay, back to high school. I AM SO EXCITED! This is my last year in high school, and I'm going to make it worthwhile, but the problem is, I think this new teacher has it in for me...
"Welcome back students!" Our principle, Mr.Zumo all greeted us with on our first day assembly coming back from our summer vacation. All of the students were sitting on the benches in the main dueling arena listening to the principles speech. "We hope all of you had a great summer vacation. The school has had a few adjustments around here if you haven't noticed, but you'll figure out those changes when you get to class and such. We also are glad to tell you we have a brand new teacher, everyone, please give a hand for Mr.Danaora!" Everyone stood up and gave a round of applause for the new teacher, everyone except me of course. Something didn't feel right about this teacher. Jay dragged Arjio down back to the seat next to him and whispered to him. "Psst, Arjio." "Yes?" "Don't you think the new teacher looks a bit, shady?" "What do you mean" Arjio replied with a questionable face expression. "Well, just look at him". After there little conversation, they both looked at the new teacher. The teacher did look quite odd. The new teacher wore a gray studded leather-like jacket with the sleeves ripped off. He was wearing inside the jacket a white shirt with a weird symbol on each shoulder as the design, with what we can see that wasn't covered by his jacket, also had the same symbol on the center of the shirt as well. What we can make of it, it looked like a card, but with iron chains wrapped around it. His pants were also white with the same symbols on both legs. His shoes were also gray, and looked a tad worn out. "Now everyone, if you would please sit down, My.Danaora would like to say a few words." "Thank you Mr.Zumo. Greetings everyone. My name is Mr.Danaora. I was currently exchanged to your school in replace with one of your older teachers, I don't remember the name, but I was quite sure it started with a 'B'." All of a sudden, Tyra rose her hand. "You with the hand up, do you have a question?" Mr.Danaora replied. Everyone than looked towards Tyra. "Why yes, I do. By any chance, was the name of that teacher Mrs.Berdiva?" "Now that you mention it, that does sound similar to the name of the person I was 'exchanged' with. He gave than somewhat of an evil glare towards the three of us, which looks like no one caught but well, us. "Whatever class she was teaching, I will now be teaching. Thank you." Everyone gave a small applause. Jay once again, whispered to Arjio and Tyra. "Didn't Mrs.Berdiva just recently work for the school last year? And was she suppose to teach dueling strategies in the outer school battlefields?" "Yes and yes." Tyra replied. "Well, something is up with this new teacher and I'm not liking it." The principle than gave a signal, telling everyone to stop applauding and sit down. "Now, everyone, during late summer, all of you - like always - received your school schedules. This assembly is now over. So look for your first class on your schedule and go go go!" He said with a little motivational feel to it. All the kids quickly evacuated the dueling arena and ran straight to there classes. "Hey Jay, you said your not 'feeling' the new teacher, right?" Tyra said to Jay, while looking at her schedule. "Something like that, why?" "Well guess who's, and wheres our first class." Tyra said, pointing her finger to the schedule. The schedule said: CLASS 1 - DUELING STRATEGIES WITH MR.DANAORA - LOCATED IN THE OUTER SCHOOL BATTLEFIELDS" Jay let out a huge groan, seeing for every day for his last year here, he will have to spend it with some shady looking teacher. The only good thing is he has the same classes with his friends Arjio and Tyra. After walking to the outer school battlefields, they saw it was very different than it was from last year. The normal huge worn out battlefield was now separated into three different new battlefields, all with a different color. The one on the left side of us was the color red, which we automatically thought it was to resemble Slifer the Sky Dragon. The one in the center was a bright gold, which would resemble The Winged Dragon of Ra, and the last one, being the color blue, would resemble Obelisk the Tormentor. "Ahem." The teacher said to us, while all the other kids in our class looked. "Would you mind taking a seat?" "Sorry sir." All three of us replied. Another change to the outer school battlefields was, well, there were no seats. We all sat on the grass while our teacher stood up. "Greetings class. As you know, I am Mr.Danaora and will be teaching you about Dueling Strategies. There are various Duelings Strategies. Duelings Strategies are one of the many ways to winning a duel. Can anyone tell me what are one of these ways?" Only few put their hands up for this question. I didn't feel like putting my hand up, so I chose to just start whispering to Arjio, asking him if he thought something was up with the new teacher as well. "Hm...how about you. The kid with the with frumpy hair and baggy jeans." Some of the girls giggled while looking at me, one of those girls being Tyra. "Huh? Oh, um...beatdown?" I said, with a surprise look on my face, mainly because since I wasn't listening, I was kinda surprised that the teacher asked me a question out of the blue. "Yes. Now can anyone tell me what is the strategy of beatdown? How about you, the girl sitting next to the frumpy haired young man." Tyra than answered. "Beatdown is the strategy of using monsters with high ATK points to overpower your opponent." Tyra was usually the smart one among us three, and probably out of all of the seniors. "Why good. Now there are various various different strategies to give you the upper hand in the duel or to win the duel as a whole. Would anyone like to see one of these strategies with a quick duel with me perhaps?" Everyone in our class nodded, raising their hands up, wanting to be the first one from the whole school to duel, and hopefully beat, the new teacher. "Lets see, you. The young man in the summer wear." If you haven't guessed it, he pointed his finger straight at Arjio. "W-what?!?!" Arjio said, surprised that he was chosen out of all the students. "I mean um, sure, why not?" He then replied. "Fantastic! Now may you walk over here to the blue battlefield with me." Arjio stood up, getting his duel disk and deck out of his bag, walking to the platform. He also customized his duel disk to give it an earthy-look. "Another thing students. With the new battlefields, each one represents something well, different." "The red battlefield is for people who are somewhat new to dueling, need some work on their dueling skills, and just for fun duels. The yellow battlefield is for players who aren't new to dueling, but are still trying to get the hang of basic dueling needs, and for fun, yet competitive duels, average players if you will. Now the blue one, is for pro players. This is for people who know most of what their is in duel monsters, and play quite in a competitive manner." "Also, may I ask what is your name?" "Arjio, Arjio Kilono." "Well Mr.Kilono, feel free to choose which battlefield would you like to duel on." Arjio slowly walked towards the blue battlefield, standing on the side farthest from us. "I see." The teacher replied, walking towards the other side of the battlefield. "Now is everyone ready for a duel?" The whole class screamed, cheering for either the teacher or my best bud, Arjio. "Duel!" they both shouted simultaneously. Life Points Arjio - 4000Mr.Danaora - 4000 "I shall go first." Our teacher shouted. His duel disk looked quite odd, the design was all covered in worn out chains and some odd looking insects, which I can best can say resembled worms. "Draw!" He also shouted. Quickly, he drew 6 cards from his hand, with a small smirk on his face after looking at the cards he had drawn. "I'll set one monster face-down." A floating card facing down vertically appeared among him. "I'll also set another card face-down and end. Your move Mr.Kilono." Another floating card facing down appeared behind the set monster. "Draw!" Arjio said, with a big grin on his face. "I'll normal summon Ancient Gear Knight in attack mode!"
EARTHLevel 4ATK 1800 | DEF 500Machine | GeminiThis card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:● If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Arjio slapped his card onto one of his card zones. A glowing light appeared on the field, where Ancient Gear Knight jumped out of, leaping in a stance which looked like it was preparing for a lunge, straight at our teacher. "Now looks like a good time than ever to activate my trap card, Threatening Roar!"
Normal Trap CardYour opponent cannot declare an attack this turn. His set trapped flipped face-up, releasing out the monster Manticore of Darkness, which than for a quick second, let out a ferocious roar. The roaring of the monster echoed across the battle field, which made Arjio cover his ears, not being able to handle the loud sound the monster made. Ancient Gear Knight, as a machine, had no face expression, but backed away a few steps after hearing such a roar. "Since I activated Threatening Roar, you can't declare an attack." The Manticore than disappeared back into the card, which was than destroyed, going to the graveyard most likely. "Damn, I guess I'll end at that." Arjio said, quite disappointed he wasn't able to do much during his turn. No no no! Jay thought in his head. Arjio forgot to set any face-downs to protect his Knight! Our teacher then drew a card, with another small smirk on his face. Another smirk? What was the card he drew? Arjio thought in his head, wondering if this draw would be a game turner, which would be surprising this early in the game, but whatever it was, he was prepared, all of his key cards in his hand. If only I remembered to lay down some protection for my Knight! Arjio thought, still wondering what was the blasted card his teacher had drawn.
This duel can go either way with that smirk on our teacher's face Jay thought to himself. While he was thinking, he felt a slight tap on his shoulder, only to see a pale, purple colored hand on his shoulder. Normally this would freak a normal person out, but Jay wasn't normal. He knew that the hand on his shoulder, most likely belonged to his monster, Chaos Sorcerer. He turned around and you guessed it, he was right. Jay, who is that gentlemen on the battlefield, dueling your friend Arjio? Chaos Sorcerer asked Jay, wondering what this odd looking character was, seeing he had never seen him before. Chaos Sorcerer had a gentleman-like personality, always using manners, and even in the most serious, and dangerous situations, will still act like a Gentlemen, no matter how much chaos would occur. Hehehe, see what I did there? That's our new teacher, Mr.Danaora. He chose Arjio out of all of us for a duel, which is supposed to teach us about dueling strategies and stuff. If you also haven't guessed, Jay can talk to monster spirits through his mind telepathically, he just recently learned how to do this, that way, he wouldn't look weird talking to thin air like when he was a child. Chaos Sorcerer brushed the grass right next to Jay, taking a seat to watch the duel with him. "Arjio, this move right here is going to tell you what kind of dueling strategy I use, so watch closely, and listen well." Mr.Danaora yelled across the battlfield. I flip over my monster, Needle Worm!" Mr.Danaora flipped his card over, which then on the battlefield, showed his originally set monster card disappear, and in replace, a glowing hole appeared on the field, which a purple worm with various needles on it slowly crawled out through. This worm was rather small in size, and in replace of eyes had two silver needles sticking out of it's head instead, with one giant needle in the center, which I suppose was it's nose.
EARTHLevel 2ATK 750 | DEF 600Insect | EffectFLIP: Discard 5 cards from the top of your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard. "A...bug? Really?" Arjio looked confused, seeing what such a little insect can do to him. "Well, you see Mr.Kilono, when Needle Worm is flipped up, you have to discard the top 5 cards from your deck to the grave. Now class, as you can clearly see, the strategy my deck uses is a strategy called mill, or deck-out. Mill is where you use cards to send cards from your opponents deck to the graveyard. When your opponent has no more cards in their deck and needs to draw for whatever reason, they lose the duel." The worm then suddenly what it seemed like tighten all it's muscles, and released them, releasing the needle on it's head as well. The needle shot up in the air, and landed right on Arjio's deck, virtually stabbing through the top 5 cards of his, which then Arjio picked up and sent to the Graveyard. "I will now normal summon, Iron Chain Snake in attack mode as well." This time, no hole appeared from the field, but a crack, which then a long iron chain popped out of, which then morphed a face onto the front of it, which did look like well, a snake.
EARTHLevel 3ATK 800 | DEF 1200Reptile | EffectDuring your Main Phase, you can equip this card to 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. That monster loses 800 ATK and DEF. When it is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, its controller sends cards equal to its Level from the top of their Deck to the Graveyard. "I will now activate Iron Chain Snakes effect, during my main phase, I can equip it to a monster you control, and as long as it's equipped to that monster, it loses 800 ATK and DEF. Now, Iron Chain Snake, equip too Ancient Gear Knight!" As soon as Mr.Danaora spoke those words, the snake charged at Ancient Gear Knight, wrapping itself around Ancient Gear Knight, which suddenly brought the Knight down to his knees, restricting it from doing even the simplest things, such as standing (1800 | 500 -> 1000 | 0). "Even though your Knight is much more weak then it was before, my Needle Worm is still short a few ATK points to finish it off. So I will end at that." Damn! Now my Knight can only barely destroy his monsters! And by the looks of the cards he's used so far, it's only a matter of time until I deck-out! Arjio then had a sudden worried and scared face expression, losing most of his confidence against the teacher. Jay automatically noticed this, and let out a big yell. "Come on Arjio! You can do it! Squash that bug!" This gave Arjio a small boost in his confidence. "Draw!" he yelled to the teacher. Arjio took a quick look at his hand, seeing what combos he can hopefully pull off. He suddenly noticed a card that was covered up by the card he just recently, had drawn, which put a huge smile on his face. "I activate the spell card, Ancient Gear Explosive!" He once again, slapped the card onto his duel disk, which then a grenade shaped object with rusted gears and a wind-up key on it appeared, right in the hands of his Knight.
Normal Spell CardTarget 1 face-up "Ancient Gear" monster on your side of the field when you activate this card. Destroy the targeted monster and inflict damage equal to half its original ATK to your opponent. "Mr.Danaora, if you cannot tell by the card itself, I can destroy 1 Ancient Gear on my side of the field and inflict damage to you equal to half of the destroyed Ancient Gear's original ATK! And there is no other target then my Ancient Gear Knight!" The Knight suddenly, but slowly, walked over to Mr.Danaora, pulled off the wind-up key on the explosive, which then blew up not just Ancient Gear Knight, but the Iron Chain Snake as well. Fractures of Iron and old rusted pieces of metal flew everywhere, which a big amount was flown right at Mr.Danaora. Life Points Arjio - 4000Mr.Danaora - 3100 The whole class suddenly cheered on Arjio, which put one of the biggest smiles he every shown. Jay and Chaos Sorcerer were extremely impressed with Arjio, cheering and rooting him on to kick our new teacher's ass. "Clever move Mr.Kilono. But it will take more then some rusty grenade to win this duel." Mr.Danaora wittingly replied to what had just happened. "I now set 1 card face-down, and end my turn." A floating card appeared in one of Arjio's spell and trap card zones. Arjio was extremely happy with what he just had done. I can't believe I just did that! Maybe I can beat Mr.Danaora! Mr.Danaora then drew his card. But this time, there was no smirk, just a really really really small smile. "I normal summon, Shield Worm in attack mode, but by it's effect, it switches to defense mode as soon as it's summoned." Yet again, another hole appeared, where a worm - a bit bigger then Needle Worm - crawled out of. This worm actually had eyes, six to be exact, and also six little stubby arms with eight matching legs. The worm was a brown, beige and orange-like color, with all his arms and legs a dark green, with 2 antenna-like strings at the back of it.
EARTHLevel 4ATK 800 | DEF 2000Insect | EffectWhen this card is Summoned, it is changed to Defense Position. "You see, when Shield Worm is summoned, for every insect I control, you have to send the top card of your deck to the grave Mr.Kilono." The worm then, out of nowhere, extended it's stubby green arms. They shot out of it's arms with small thing-like strings attached to them, which came out of the arms themselves, which picked up the top 2 cards from Arjio's deck, and placed them into the grave. "Beware Mr.Kilono, because the real duel has just begun."
The duel was more intense than ever now that Arjio was slowly having his deck soon depleted to 0. Me and Chaos Sorcerer were all eyes out, focusing on every move they took. Than, all of a sudden, something strange felt inside me. I was wondering what it was, than, it hit me. I've been holding it in since breakfast! I couldn't last another minute! "Tyra, I need to go to the washroom, fill me in on what happens when I return please?" "Sure no worries, we don't want a reenactment of freshman year now do we?" Tyra said with a small giggle. "Haha very funny." Jay replied, running into the high school in need of the closest washroom available. Excuse me Tyra madam, but I must leave along with him Chaos Sorcerer followed up with Jay's reply, even though he knew Tyra wouldn't be able to hear him at all, than stood up to follow Jay. ---------- "Ahhh..." Jay said, finally being able to release his urine. Chaos Sorcerer just stood at the side of the door, standing firmly waiting for Jay, greeting people who would enter and exit after releasing their urine, or something else, as well. Okay Chaos Sorcerer, I'm all done here, lets head back to the duel. I just hope it isn't over! Jay said rushing out of the restroom, where he found himself head first, straight into the dirty washroom door. Tsk tsk tsk, this is what you get for running Chaos Sorcerer replied, than opening the door for Jay. On their way back to the duel, they heard some whispering from a room with the door that was slightly opened. Jay couldn't help but eavesdrop. Chaos Sorcerer asked what Jay was doing, with Jay replying with a firm 'Shh!!', with his ear firmly pressed against the wooden door, hoping he wouldn't accidentally push so hard the door would open. What he heard was what it sounded like a man on the phone, whispering about some sort of machine and whatnot. "No no no! Do you know how long we've been waiting for Mr.Danaora to finally seal the deal?!?!? I will NOT let some shipping error ruin this!" The man firmly said in an angered voice, shutting his cell phone than walking towards the door. Jay automatically turned to his 'casual' look when he was just about to get caught for eaves dropping. He quickly took out his deck from his pocket, skimming through the cards. That's when he came through the door. "Why hello there Jay, you better get back to class, you should be in big trouble right now mister, but seeing it's only the beginning of your last year, I'll let this one slide" The principle said with a nudge to Jay's shoulder, walking back to his office like nothing even happened. That was the principle talking? You'd think being here for 4 years you would know the voice of your own principal...but what is this shipping error he was talking about? And what is our principle working with Mr.Danaora for? And what the hell was this deal!?!?! There was certainly a bunch of questions running through his mind, he always thought the principal was suppose to be your pal, but by the looks of it now, he's almost as shady as Mr.Danaora. Jay put all of this aside for now and ran back along with Chaos Sorcerer to the battlefield. ---------- Life Points Arjio - 2650Mr.Danaora - 2600 Jay ran back next to Tyra, almost tripping on his way. "What'd I miss?" "Well, you just missed one turn, that one being Mr.Danaora's. He got out a new worm out called Warm Worm and switched his Shield Worm to attack mode. He made all of his worms attack, but Arjio softened his damage by using his set Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate Shield Worms blow. Arjio just recently got out Ancient Gear Cannon and attacked with it, that pretty much being all you missed." Negate the attack, and Set this card face-down again instead of sending it to the Graveyard. Jay suddenly took a quick glance at the battlefield. On Mr.Danaora's side, he saw his Shield Worm and Needle Worm squirming, anxiously wanting to attack once again. That's where he saw this new worm. This new worm seemed normal looking, despite it's rough purple color with what seemed like a small flame seeping through it's forehead, covering everything but it's eyes and mouth. It left a small track of flames when it moved. He then quickly glanced over at Arjio's, seeing only his set Scrap-Iron Scarecrow and his Ancient Gear Cannon. The cannon was operated by you guessed it, gears. The gears kept the cannons well, cannons moving. They were scanning the battlefield, moving left and right. On the top was the ammo it used to attack, a bright orange sphere that levitated in place. "I now activate, Ancient Gear Castle!" Arjio yelled. The ground started to rumble, and a massive hole appeared. A castle then appeared, taking the massive holes place. The giant castle had traps everywhere, all operated by gears, which made eerie sounds when were in action. "While this card is face-up, all my face-up Ancient Gears gain 300 ATK and DEF!" As soon as Arjio said this, his Ancient Gear Cannon's orange sphere grew twice in size, making the cannons move much faster than they were before. (500 | 500 -> 800 | 800). "I end my turn at that." As soon as he laid down that castle, I knew what he had in his hand. He was going to get out his signature card. "Draw!" Our teacher shouted. He looked thoroughly through his hand, seeing what he was able to do. "Now, Warm Worm, attack Ancient Gear Cannon!" "What?!?!?" Arjio shouted. Arjio didn't bother at countering this, seeing he knew his Cannon was a tad stronger then this critter. The worm slowly charged at the Cannons, the fire on it's head slowly increasing in size. The cannon then centered it's turrets at the small worm, where it blasted 4 thin orange lasers, one from each cannon, which all shot right through the worm, entering from it's head and exiting from it's rear end. Life Points Arjio - 2650Mr.Danaora - 2400 "You may look surprised right now, but when Warm Worm gets destroyed, you have to send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Grave." The worms body parts flew everywhere, some which had landed on the top of Arjio's Deck, virtually burning the top 3 cards. Arjio got worried, by the looks of it, almost half of his Deck was already gone! "I'll switch my Shield and Needle Worm to defense mode and end with that." It seemed like the teacher seemed, cocky, knowing he would win and chose he didn't even need to set protection. This frustrated Arjio. "Draw!" Arjio yelled. He looked at his card, and gave a smirk that looked like he was trying to mock the teachers smirks. "I activate Ancient Gear Factory!" A bunch of building tools attached to long rusty mechanical arms shot out through the windows of the giant castle. I'll reveal my favorite card, Ancient Gear Golem!" A bunch of body pieces of the golem then popped out of the castles front door. "And with all the milling you gave me, I most likely will have enough monsters to get this bad boy out!" He skimmed through his Graveyard, which then on the field revealed transparent versions of Ancient Gear Knight, Ancient Gear Soldier, Ancient Gear Engineer, and Ancient Gear Beast. "Now I'm pretty good at math, so you won't need to tell me when added up, these cards equal to the total Level of 18!" The mechanical arms then were put into work, drilling and fusing the pieces of the Ancient Gear Golem together. The Golem then stood high and mighty, more than 20 feet tall, looking down at the teacher. The golem had a massive hand on one arm with a massive claw on the other. Impressive! The teacher, Jay and Chaos Sorcerer all simultaneously thought.
EARTHLevel 8ATK 3000 | DEF 3000Machine | EffectThis card cannot be Special Summoned. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. "And don't forget, my Castle gives my Ancient Gear Golem a 300 ATK and DEF boost!" (3000 | 3000 -> 3300 | 3300). "Now first, I'll tribute my Ancient Gear Cannon to inflict 500 damage to your life points!" The orange sphere on the cannon sunk down into the cannon, making the cannon go haywire, this made the cannon self destruct, with little orange shards of the sphere shoot at Mr.Danaora. Life Points Arjio - 2650Mr.Danaora - 1900 "Now, Ancient Gear Golem, attack Needle Worm with Golem Fist Grasp!" The Golem took massive steps that made thuds and shook the battlefield, leaving small virtual cracks in each step. The Golem held the Needle Worm up to his eyes in his massive palm, and crushed it in between his fingers, sprinkling the pieces of the worm straight above the teacher. "Oh and did I forget, when Ancient Gear Golem attacks and defeats a monster in defense mode, the difference between the ATK and DEF of both monsters is dealt to you! Which means game over Mr.Danaora!" The shards landed atop Mr.Danaora, which didn't hurt, but looked like it was raining shards of glass above him. Life Points Arjio - 2650Mr.Danaora - -800 "I WON!!!" Arjio yelled at the top of his lungs. The whole class cheering for him. Me, Tyra and Chaos Sorcerer were most certainly proud, cheering for him as well, with the exception of Chaos Sorcerer, who just stood there clapping for him instead. The teacher was doing the exact same thing Chaos Sorcerer was, except under his breath said. "I underestimated you Mr.Kilono, perhaps you'll serve some purpose after all..." he said with an evil chuckle under his breath.
Would you look at that Jay, it's only morning of your first senior year and Arjio is already having a great start to it. Chaos Sorcerer said, looking at Arjio getting high fives, fist pounds and such from the classmates surrounding him, which were truly amazed that he had just kicked the new teachers ass in a duel. "Now now everyone, it seems like our class is already over. Time does fly when your watching such an intense duel." Mr.Danaora said, brushing any debris on his shirt off of him. "Now carry on to whatever class you have next, I hope to see you all tomorrow here first thing in the morning. Especially you Mr.Kilono." Mr.Danaora said with a smile, which Arjio found somewhat creepy, and fake. The whole class than stood up, going to whatever class that was next on their schedule. "So, what's next on our list?" Arjio asked both Tyra and Jay. Arjio was really pumped up and in a cheerful mood now, after beating the teacher in a duel and all. "Well, looks like we have Dueling Accessories now with Mrs.Veil" Tyra replied, looking through the schedule. "Mrs.Veil? Yes! She's so hot." Arjio and Jay both said simultaneously without thinking. Tyra gave them somewhat of an evil stare. "What?" "Um..nevermind." They both replied, trying to ignore the classic evil glare Tyra would give them ---------- "Hello class, if you are new and don't remember me from last year, I am Mrs.Veil and will be teaching Dueling Accessories." This class was actually in well, a class. Everyone who was in the previous class with Mr.Danaora felt mildly relaxed finally being able to sit in an actual chair with an actual desk. The whole class was staring straight at the front, but all with different reasons of course. While the girls were actually listening to what the teacher was saying, all the guys on the other hand, were drooling over Mrs.Veil. Mrs.Veil was known as the hottest female teacher in the school. She had long blond hair, which most guys said was silky and shined during the daytime. She also would always wear some of the shortest skirts some of the guys here have ever seen, followed with a casual bright pink tank top. One thing that some of the guys loved most about her was, well, her rack. Most guys would suddenly have a waterfall coming out of their mouth just by looking at it. Most of the guys that have been here for awhile though have adjusted, and now even though still hypnotized by her looks, now don't drool as much as they have before. Now even though by the looks, most of the new girls suspect her to be one of those stereotypical hot dumb blonds, but Mrs.Veil was actually rather smart, her being hot was just a bonus. "Now, even though dueling accessories, are one of those things that get outclassed by other duelings things such as decks, cards, and whatnot, simple dueling accessories a person has can tell a lot about them, in or out of a duel. For example, would anyone care to give me their duel disk for a quick second? Of course, all of the guys put their hands up, begging to be picked. All the girls rolled their eyes at them, thinking about how guys can be such...guys. "How about you Jay?" Mrs.Veil asked. All of the guys then let out somewhat of a quiet disappointed groan, going back to normal like nothing even happened. Jay then took out from his backpack that was just right next to him, his duel disk and stood up giving it to Mrs.Veil. "Now class, what can you say about Jay's duel disk?" Jay's disk was quite the disk, which Jay fully customized to his liking, with help from his dad of course. The duel disk looked like a basic duel disk, but each card zone had a shining light yellow-like colored border, with the place where the card would be placed a dark black. The center of the disk had a yin-yang like theme, with black and yellow lines swirling around in circles. Where the life points would show up, each number would go in a black-white pattern. The places where his graveyard and deck would be was the color silver, which would sparkle every so often if the lighting was bright enough. A few classmates put up their hands. But out of all of them, Mrs.Veil chose no other than Tyra. "Well Mrs.Veil, it seems with the color theme of Jay's duel disk, the deck - or decks - he runs are all with a light or dark monster based theme, also known as 'Chaos'." "Is she correct Jay?" Mrs.Veil asked. "Yes Mrs.Veil, she is." Jay replied, but of course Tyra was correct with this question. Tyra has seen Jay dueled tons of times. Jay on the other hand, hasn't seen Tyra duel in years. He even forgot what kind of deck she runs. "Now class, heres a simple survey, asking what kind of duel disks, duel runners and whatnot you like. Then, I will ask for all the papers, and later on tonight try to guess what kind of decks you run and such tomorrow morning. This isn't going to be for marks, it's just something to get all of you better, especially you new students." In the middle of doing the survey, Tyra, who was sitting right next to me, passed me a note. I then looked at her, which she then just immediately looked down at her survey paper. I was a bit confused about why Tyra did this, so I just opened the note. Jay, meet me at the battlefields at lunch, you know, where Arjio and Mr.Danaora dueled? -Tyra Well that didn't help at all Jay thought, he still didn't have any idea why Tyra wanted to meet him, or suddenly started acting a bit strange. ---------- It was lunch time, and jay was standing in the center of the battlefield Arjio had dueled on earlier, waiting for Tyra. Wonder why'd she called me here... he thought. Well isn't it obvious, she is going to ask you out on a date. Chaos Sorcerer replied to Jay's question. What? Pfft, ha! ...you think so? Why of course! Why else do you think she called you here? Jay gave it a moment to think about it, then his eyes grew wide open. "Your right!" Jay said out load. "Who's right?" Tyra interrupted, standing behind of Jay. "Um, nothing. So Tyra...why'd you ask me out? I MEAN, ask me here?" Jay asked, with a small chuckle with the mistake he had said. Tyra blushed and let out a slight giggle. "Well, I was just wondering, do you want to meet me at the Dueling Cafe tomorrow, you know, like a date? It'd be today, but I have something to do after school." Tyra replied, kicking the grass in a shy manner. "Sure, that'd be great. Somewhere around 4?" Jay answered back, with a big smile on his face. "4 sounds fine. See you then!" Tyra then ran back into the school, hoping she wasn't late for her next class. I can't believe it! I have a date with Tyra tomorrow! Jay thought in his head. He was immensely full of happiness seeing after all of these years crushing on her, she was the one to ask him out. But then again, this made him feel some sort of a wimp, to him, the girl asking out the guy doesn't seem right, and it should have been him asking out her. But who cares! He's got a date! Now now Jay, calm yourself down, you still have school going on, and your date isn't until tomorrow. Which I will be the chaperon of? Correct? You can be the chaperon, but you do know Tyra won't be able to see, hear, or smell you, right? No matter. Chaos Sorcerer replied to this question Jay has asked him from time to time. Jay then walked with Chaos Sorcerer back into school, being impatient for the date he had with Tyra tomorrow. ---------- "YOU GOT A DATE WITH TYRA!?!?!" Arjio yelled at him, really surprised. School had just finished, and Jay couldn't find the time to tell Arjio any sooner, mainly because everytime he would whisper to him about it, he would get caught. "Yeah dude! Can you believe it? She asked me out!" "Well, congrats! Always thought you two made a cute couple. But one thing, no doing those cutesy faces and such when you two are around me, it's just annoying to me, deal?" Jay laughed. "It's a deal. I gotta get home now, see you tomorrow 'kay?" "Okay, see you tomorrow! And tell me how your date turns out with Tyra!" ---------- Today was the day. Jay was wearing his best casual looking clothes, and was all set up for his date with Tyra. It was currently lunch, and Jay was flirting a bit with Tyra, who was sitting at the table right across from him. Arjio looked at Tyra and Jay, which lead to a groan. "Jay, do you even remember what I told you yesterday? Jay? You there? JAY!" "Huh? Oh, yeah I remember, but technically, only I'm around you, not both of us." Jay told Arjio, which he then preceded to flirt with Tyra afterwards. Jay was somewhat confused how just after a day Tyra asked him out, all of a sudden they started doing cutesy faces, flirting and whatnot to each other. But either way, whatever happens, happened, and how happy he is that it's happened to him! Now all I have to do is wait until 4.

guuu1234
I like your fan fic so far. It's something very new and different, something that isn't like all the others. I would really like to read more of this. But I do wonder, if the main characters ace card is Chaos Sorcerer, does that mean he runs a Chaos (light & dark) Deck. I'm really curious about that. Anbu-of-Sand
I like your fan fic so far. It's something very new and different, something that isn't like all the others.Really? How so? I would really like to read more of this. But I do wonder, if the main characters ace card is Chaos Sorcerer, does that mean he runs a Chaos (light & dark) Deck. I'm really curious about that. Why of course he does! On the list of characters (The Main Pro/Ant agonist), if you would look on the list of characters so far, it will show the type of Deck they run. guuu1234
Wow, how could I miss the type of deck each runs. I always wanted to see a chaos deck, i don't see to many nowadays, even though there are so many cards that support them. HMMM...how is your fan fic different...It just is. I don't how to describe it, but it just feels different.
Anbu-of-Sand
Why thank you. And just for the record, I run an Anti-Meta Chaos deck ;D So I'd thought I'd give the main character a deck I love to run. And you'll probably be seeing a few Chaos Decks in the September 2010 format because Chaos Sorcerer is now getting semi-limited. After a few more CnC on the prologue and such, will post Chapter 1. Otherwise, I'll post the 1st Chapter of this somewhere on Monday or so.
guuu1234
Cool, and I hope that I do. I wouldn't mind building a Chaos Deck myself. The idea of Light and Darkness appeals to me somehow. As for Chaos Sorcerer, I find that card very annoying. When my friend summons one (and thank god that he only has one), it takes me a few turns to get rid of it. I use Gemini's, so removing them from play really messes up my strategy. But I've been curious, how do cards get put on and off the Limited/Forbidden list. How does that work? Also, I can't wait to read your 1st chapter. I'm doing a story myself, check it out and tell me what you think.
Anbu-of-Sand
Cool, and I hope that I do. I wouldn't mind building a Chaos Deck myself. The idea of Light and Darkness appeals to me somehow.LIGHT, DARK, and LIGHT&DARK Decks have always appealed to me. I try to find ways to fit a LIGHT and DARK Archetype to fit together. My Chaos Anti-Meta is my first Deck that has both LIGHT and DARK monsters. Next LIGHT and DARK Deck I'm going to be working on is Fabled World (Dark World and Fabled). As for Chaos Sorcerer, I find that card very annoying. When my friend summons one (and thank god that he only has one), it takes me a few turns to get rid of it. I use Gemini's, so removing them from play really messes up my strategy. One of the simple things I love about Chaos Sorcerer. Seeing it doesn't have a destruction effect and removes from play monsters instead, it can't be countered through cards such as Stardust Dragon. The card also as itself makes a decent beater and such. Having 2 on the field is just a pain in the ass for your opponent if they can't destroy it in time. But I've been curious, how do cards get put on and off the Limited/Forbidden list. How does that work?Ever September and March I believe, Konami adds a few changes to the Ban List. It all depends really. For example. Heavy Storm. It's a decent Limited Spell Card that clears all Spells and Traps. But for some reason, Konami banned it for whatever reasons and decide to put Black Hole - pretty much a monster version of Heavy Storm - back into the Limited list, and Monster Reborn. It all depends on the format I guess. As you can see, this format has Black Hole at 1 and Black Rose Dragon at 3, making this a nuking format, putting incredible use of Starlight Road this format as well. Also, I can't wait to read your 1st chapter. I'm doing a story myself, check it out and tell me what you think.I'll check it out as soon as I find the time :)
guuu1234
A friend of mine uses only Dark Worlds an their incredibly annoying. I don't know much about fabled monsters, but it sounds like it will be pretty strong. When I try to build decks, I never try to go past a 42 card limit. Unless I build something like a lightsworn based deck. As for chaos sorcerer, it's biggest threat is Imperial Iron Wall, or at least I though it was. I went out a while back and found some Cyber Dark Impact bosster packs for a dollar. My mom bought me ten. I got about 2 or 3 cards called Dimensional Inversion. It will screw over anybody that uses cards like Chaos Scorcerer or likes to Necroface Mill. And thanks for telling me about the forbidden/limited list updates and what not. I've been curious about that for a long time. Finally, thanks for reading my story and giving me your input. I'll try to correct grammar when I get the time. guuu1234
As good as the first. I few a few grammar errors, but not many though. One thing I found odd was how at the beginning, when all the characters were talking. You didn't start a new paragraph when a new character started talking, and It made it a little harder to read. I like how your story ended, and I'm really curious about what deck Mr.Danaora uses. My best guess is "Worm" monsters

I just did my best to space it out in certain times, instead of having just a shiz load of paragraphs. The only time I would switch to a new paragraph or something if the current topic of that paragraph would change (from Mr.Danaora introducing himself to Jay feeling something wasn't right to the new teacher), or if I thought it was a good time to space it out a bit. I like how your story ended, and I'm really curious about what deck Mr.Danaora uses. Anbu-of-Sand
Chapter 2 will most likely be posted Friday afternoon / evening or Monday morning. But for now, I posted a new way of how to present the Summon / Activation of a card. You can check it out in Chapter 1 if you want Another thing, for some odd reason, I'm thinking of changing the things that are in normal Bold (such as card names) to the color of bold silver, that way when I post something that's DARK related it won't be confusing. Opinions?
guuu1234
Thanks for the +Rep, though you really didn't have to do it. The monster statistics were interesting, but do you plan on doing that for every card played. It's pretty cool, but they kind of get in the way of reading the story. I wouldn't mind it if it was at the end of the post. As for changing the color of the card names, so that we can know when a more evil character is talking, I would like to see it in action before giving a real opinion on it.
Anbu-of-Sand
Yes I plan on doing that for each card played. Nice suggestion, but I'll have to pass. I think it's best the reader knows what the card does and it's statistics right when I mention the card. Also, I'm actually reconsidering about the whole silver thing. I just tested it out, and bold or not, it's just to bright. Might be hard to read for the people viewing my fan fic.
Supreme Gamesmaster
DON'T USE CHARACTER LISTS. NO ONE WANTS TO READ THEM. TELL US IT IN THE STORY OR WE'LL IGNORE IT. CHARACTER LISTS ARE COPOUTS. ...ahem. Anyway, some other things to watch out for after you've taken that abomination off the page: >)Main character is likely a Stu. Beware. >)WTF ARE THOSE NAMES. >)Oh, never mind -- the evil teacher is actually pretty good. Although honestly anyone who doesn't know what beatdown is is an idiot, but then again, 75% of every course is review. So far, he and Tyra are my favorite characters (not the flat main character, of course). >)GIVE US A DAMN TRANSITION. MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE CHAPTER/PART IS OVER. Make it really obvious and dramatic. It's a crapload better than I thought it would be, but at the same time, it's not excellent. You've laid the groundwork for a lot of twists, mostly revolving around Tyra, but based on your writing style so far, it's unlikely I'm going to see much innovation. I certainly encourage you to continue, though; I could always be pleasantly surprised. Review of story in sig link would be greatly appreciated!
