I got to play against my best friend today. My White Ally deck defeated his Red Burn deck. (The Blue/Black Mill deck didn't do so well - but I ordered cards to hopefull speed it up a bit)

Deck list for the new Duel packs. The fact that we get a $35 card for 20 plus 119 other cards alone makes thid a great buy. The fact that the decks have some other good cards only make this more true.

Sorry I haven't been on lately I just moved into the dorms on my college campus and have spent my time with my new niche.

So is anyone really interested in the rp idea?

It's fine. I just started college myself and I'm still trying to get into the new flow.

I'm not an RPer. TBQH it's the only section I've never really posted in. Still I think it would be cool to get something going, you'll just need to find the right people. Maybe you can put an ad in your sig about looking for RPers with a Magic back round to help make a MAgic RP.

It does. It's one of the few times the "watch this topci" thing is really helpful.

What this thread needs is enough people to be stuck. So go out and bring this thread back to life.


On another note for thos that have heard of the Great Designer Search it's been brough back and it starts end of next month.

While we're on that topic, if you ccould make a random card, what would it be?

For me it's a random card, but I think it could work.

That's a good card. I'd use it.

I'd probably make something like:

Name: Countershield
Type: Instant
Cost: 2U + Multikicker U (U is blue BTW)
Effect: Counter target spell and X creatures you control gain protection from the color of your choice until end of turn, where X is equal to the number of times Countershield was kicked.

So I got the new vs. deck. Cost me $35. Yea, I still think that to be a decent price for a 120 card deck with some rare cards in it, but being 75% high then the MSRP.

Also they said they were selling From the Vault: Relics for $100. WTF.

That COULD be why it is so high. Getting it the day of often means paying a little more. Like when I got my Nissa Revane. I spent $12 for the first copy and $10 for the second. Now they're selling it for $6. Has I waited I could have saved $10.

And yea. Unless I heard him wrong, he said $100. I didn't want to come off as an ass and ask about but I might just because it's that much of a WTF.

And Izanagi, you should try awakening Zone in that deck, as you get free guys to sac for the MP, as well as getting things out faster. So even if you don't get your MP, you can still pay the normal cost of your bombs. It also makes good friends with Martial Coup.

So ye, I went to my other card store and saw the vs deck for $20. Yay for wasting $15. They also had some 30 card deck for $2. Their was 1 for each color and the box had the Planeswalker on it. Has any one else seen something like that?

Yeah, I've seen those decks. They are theme decks based off the MTG video game (for the PC, I think) called Duels of the Planeswalkers. From what I understand, it was a strategy game. Haven't played it myself, though.

I got Liliana's deck. All it is a mainly a black discard deck with a few kill spells.

I think your thinking of the duel of the plainswalkers one. It wasn't them. It might have been part of the deck from Magic online, but who knows.

The only ones like that I know of were the Duels of the Planeswalkers ones. Dunno about any others.

On a fun note, I will be taking my White Weenie Ally and Blue/Black Ally Mill decks with me on vacation. Hope they can hold up.

Like I said, I have no idea what they were, but they had some good cards in them and for $2 you can't really pass it up. It helped me get over the wasted $15. Damn my inpatients.

And, in other news, the first news about Scars has broken. The cards look good so far. I really want to see what we'll get in the ways of Vamps with Infect which is, ATM, it's one of my fav keywords.

That legendary skeleton dragon is awesome! Except for a SINGLE thing, "Legendary"...

Wish it could be pumped though.

Maybe mono-black Poison is the way to go now?

A lot of these seem very small and frail, though an Eldrazi Monument sure fixes that. Chuck in a Bloodghast or Reassembling Skeleton (one of my present favourites) and you've got a solid structure. Also, Abyssal Persecutor is simply too good to be overlooked in this aspect.
