How long you've been playing: About 3/4 months.

 

 

So, with a new thread, lets talk about my newest deck. I mad a Green/White/Blue deck that specializes in defenders. So far it's worked well. Best moment was when my Hydra that had like 20 something attack got stolen via Act of Treason and then flung at me. I wasn't keep track of the life that well but I think I had already won, but it was still funny to watch my huge advantage go away because of a lucky top deck.

How long I've been playing: About 6 1/2 years (I officially started around when the Mirrodin block was released in 2003.

 

@Flame Dragon: A G/U/W deck, eh? Sounds like a Bant deck (due to the color scheme). I can imagine how much fun that would be to just hide behind all those high defense monsters. I know that there is an enchantment (aura, I believe) from the Ravnica block (I forget its name) that gives the enchanted creature +0/+2 for each creature you control. Since a lot of defender monsters are relatively cheap anyway, that'd be fun to use as a huge wall.

 

I had a buddy who had an annoying combo. He had a white wall creature (also forget its name; it's an OLD one) that could block any number of creatures (I think it was a 0/4). He THEN went and gave it Inviability - which made it unable to take any damage. So, he had a perfect defense - that is, until I turned one of his Plains into a Forest and had all my monsters hit him using Forestwalk. 8)

What are some of the cards in the deck?

 

Also sounds like a Mass Poly deck I am trying work on with my friend. One problem we have with it is trying to find away to produce tokens for five creatures and keep them alive long enough to cast Mass Polymorph.

I'm not oing to post the whole deck ATM, but some of the stuff I'm using are

 

Roc Egg x2

Sun Titan

Ajani's Pridemate x 2

Baneslayer Angel

Mana Leak x2

Preordain x2

Wall of Frost

Birds of Paradise x2

Leyline of Vitality

Protean Hydra

Drift of Phantasms

Guard Gomazoa (trying to find a second 1)

Overgrown Battlement x2

Perimeter Captain x2

Phantasmal Abomination x2

 

Easy token makers are the Eldrazi cards. Side from that the best thing would be use Green since a lot of their cards make tokens.

No Wall of Reverence?

 

All we have is for token generators are,

 

2 Awakening Zone want to get more

2 Growth spasm

Not sure if Skittering Invasion could work

trying to get a few Garruk

have martial coup, that comes in handy

not sure what else

As I said I only just started, so I can't get a lot of cool cards. Another Wall I really wish I could get is Denial.

 

Avenger of Zendikar is a great token maker. Rampaging Baloths is also good. Their main problem is they are on the expensive side, but both make great summons with Poly.

I am thinking of putting in a defensive card or two for my blue/black mill deck. Here are the two in question:

 

NAME - Propaganda

SET - Tempest

TYPE - Enchantment

COST - 2 colorless / 1 blue

EFFECT - Each turn, each creature cannot attack you unless its controller pays an additional (2) for that creature.

 

Good stall card if they are tapped out. Somewhat cost efficient (since it only costs 3).

 

NAME - Lethal Vapors

SET - Scourge

TYPE - Enchantment

COST - 2 colorless / 2 black

EFFECT - Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, destroy it. (0): Destroy Lethal Vapors. You skip your next turn. Any player may activate this ability.

 

Makes sure no new creatures stay out to attack, but can hurt my Ally engine if I don't have a lot of Allies on the field before this comes out. If they choose to get rid of it, I get another turn, so that's not TOO bad. Somewhat costly (at 4), though.

Preordain - It's a good card. I'll consider it.

Foresee - TOO expensive.

Jace's Integrity - TOO expensive.

 

Those are decent cards and thanks for the recommendations. However, I am trying to go with draw power that is cost efficient for the deck (under 4 cost, preferably). Sign in Blood is good because it's 2 black mana to draw 2 cards at the cost of 2 life. It's not bad.

 

Also, the deck build right now (the revision, anyway) has room for 3 black cards.

Man, we both had ideas and they never seemd to take off. Well, we've all been busy - so it's no real surprise there.
