chedbonlahor
If you only knew lol. How it works in the mod team is different. We all treat each other as separate people, so if there's a breakaway in the rules like that it's subject to the Moderator who did it. And Yankeefan chose to. I talked to him on IM, but he stuck to it and since it IS against the rules, sorry. JoshyIcy, are you SERIOUSLY telling me that it is against the rules for friends/familly members to be on YCM under the same roof/IP adress? If that is the case then that is rediculous. I am completely against double accounting and I want It removed, but at the cost of innocent YCM members, I think that is rediculous again. you say that "it IS against the rules" from where I stand me and my friend did nothing wrong and broke no rules, unless 2 friends using the same IP adress is against the rules. I bed you please do what you can to unban him, you said you spoke to Yankeefan to ban him so surely you can speak to him again and unban him, please do what you can because this is simply unfair, not just for me and my friend, but for siblings and friends WORLDWIDE who go on YCM under the sam roof. His account name is Storm, I know it doesnt take much to unban him so please.
Guest JoshIcy
Let me explain something then. On the internet there are such things known as Trolls, Spammers and Whiners that we simply cannot and will not have return to a website. The double accounting rule is to prevent that, however minuscule. Nothing against your case however.
♥Łövëły-Ċħän♥
Well what if you don't want to share the same account? Maybe they could screw things up. I never really share my account with other people cause i'm afraid that might happen. Thats why there is a Change Password option
Grunt Issun
Like I said before, me and Aussa dont share accounts, we share a laptop, do we PMd Roxas to make sure it didnt happen
Guest
If someone gets banned and decides to make a double, then fine. Let them. Consider it a second chance to atone for their sins. Indeed! Why should we want banned users to actually leave the site? That's just silly!
♥Łövëły-Ċħän♥
JoshyIcy, are you SERIOUSLY telling me that it is against the rules for friends/familly members to be on YCM under the same roof/IP adress? No he isn't. My brother and I shared this account back when I lived with my parents and there was no issue, but that is because be shared an account. If that is the case then that is rediculous.Random much as Josh hinted no such thingI am completely against double accounting and I want It removed, but at the cost of innocent YCM members, I think that is rediculous again. you say that "it IS against the rules" from where I stand me and my friend did nothing wrong and broke no rules, unless 2 friends using the same IP adress is against the rules. His account name is Storm, I know it doesnt take much to unban him so please. I'm sorry but I see NO point in family members having seperate accounts. Theres no bonus. Its the exact same as if you were sharing. I'm sorry but "I have a brother/sister that wants there own account but cant because you'll ban them please remove this rule" isn't really a plausable reason. How do we know that you do have a brother or sister? You could easily be using that as an excuse to just make double accounts for whatever reason you REALLY want them for. I'm not calling anyone here a liar I'm just saying that it's far to unreliable. Just share the account! And if something happens you've no right really to dump that "Im sorry it was my sibling" on the Mods because theres this option, in settings, called Change Password. If you suspect your sibling is misusing your account simply change your password, problem solved.
Grunt Issun
Yeah, mods just ban people to say "You did somthing wrong, but dont worry, just make another account, its not like we actually want trolls to leave"
Βyakuya
Well they all have points. I was quite unsure, but you just can't trust whether is is a PM for permission. And it would be hard sharing the account unless it can be handled.
OmegaWave
Indeed! Why should we want banned users to actually leave the site? That's just silly! I believe in second chances. In all honesty, Double Accounting was never a problem. YCM made it so, because 95% of its users have the maturity of a 2 year old. This is what happens when you let children on the interwebs. Ruins it for everyone else.

Guest
I believe in second chances. Do you think we ban people the moment they make a typo? We hand out bans when users have proven that they don't deserve any more chances - or, in the case of temporary bans, when they've proven that they need a time-out at the very least. Permitting the circumvention of bans defeats the entire purpose of bans, and your personal opinion on second chances - which, given how difficult it is to get a permaban, amounts to "No matter how difficult it is to be booted out forever, it needs to be made even more difficult" - is irrelevant. Jeroukoo
If people have a brother and sister and they both want a different account, let them. I mean really, if people who troll, rep spam etc. do have another account, ban the one that doesn't troll or do the bad things. That way they'll have a fresh new start on YCM. But for the ones who REALLY have brothers or sisters, let them be. They are just two members who just so happen to share a computer. Sharing an account is like sharing an ipod. You have the same songs, some are yours, and some aren't. If there was an option to have two ipods, one for each person, you would choose to have two. My point is, if two members share the same computer, are clearly different (Card making skills, RPing style, etc.) and are good members who don't break the rules, why ban them? Oh yeah and support
Archwing
Okay im just a bit confused. Why dont your brother/sister/friend whatever use a different email? I mean dosnt that work? I made my account, my brother made a account, 2 of my friends made accounts, and my nephew made a account all on the same computer. we just all used our own emails. Or dose it not work like that any more?No support. Too many people would rep/rate themselves if they had two accounts.

That way they'll have a fresh new start on YCM.As already stated it puts more on MOD's shoulders, having to hunt down/worry about those people. And anyways it's not much of a punishment if their second account just gets the punishment while they're free on the other. But for the ones who REALLY have brothers or sisters, let them be. They are just two members who just so happen to share a computer. Sharing an account is like sharing an ipod. You have the same songs, some are yours, and some aren't. If there was an option to have two ipods, one for each person, you would choose to have two.The thing with sharing an Ipod though is you can split the songs into seperate files. 1 with yours the other with your sibling. equal both ways My point is, if two members share the same computer, are clearly different (Card making skills, RPing style, etc.) and are good members who don't break the rules, why ban them?Because they have 2 accounts. If they're both as you say than they should share an account, there would be no issues or anything. Yankee
So what happens when, as expected, a troll decided to make another account, and uses "sibling" as a reason for the multi account? This is so stupid, even for YCM.
//Zeromaru//
No Support. Me and my brother both have an account and we've never had any trouble. Mods and Supers should have the common sense to tell if there are two different people using the accounts or not. All this would do is open the door for people to have two accounts when there is no need. (And yes I did read the first post) All you would have to do is tell someone who cares and has the power to do something and you won't have a problem. chedbonlahor
So what happens when, as expected, a troll decided to make another account, and uses "sibling" as a reason for the multi account? This is so stupid, even for YCM. It's easy to see those who mullti account. One ip for one account is simply not fair and plausable, I have a brother his name is oliver and I didnt let him join for this very reason because you would ban him or me. Do you know what that is like when your own brother says to you can I make an account on YCM and I have to say no its terrible because we live in fear of getting banned. I let him use my account sometimes but he cant express himself in his own way with his own profile and I think that's unfair. What's even worse is that fact that my friend James came round yesterday and he wanted to join. I told him of the dangers but he still joined and he got banned. Moderators the answer to the problem is not to use the phrase "2 accounts 1 IP Therefore multiaccounting" because that is wrong think about siblings who share a computer. The way you combat the problem of multi accounting is by actually checking the accounts first, sending the accounts a first warning and a final warning and then a ban not just an immediate ban. I believe that YCM would become a better place as a result, all it requires is hard work from the mods and a little bit of trust and leiniency towards the many mature members on the site like myself. Grunt Issun
nobody is listening to me :(, before you do ANYTHING! send a message to a mod, tell them that he is your brother, explain it well, and they will naturally belive you, but if you do suspicous activty to give too much reason that your not, then they'll ban you... no two siblings are that alike

A mod asked us why there were two of us with the same IP, we explained yet my friend was still banned. So right there, right there is another problem with the system, its completely unfair.
