My anger towards Anime Screenwriters is increasing

Recommended Posts

basically a thread to complain what you didn't like in the anime movies or shows. I normally don't watch what happens at the end of the credits but i did for Bleach: Memories of Nobody. When that red ribbon was flowing in the air AFTER the movie and you can hear Senna's voice and she runs by I started crying my eyes out because she didn't really fade away from existence.

i find the all 7 kara no kyokai movies to be quite entertaining. And you know that bleach always is a continuous repeating cycle so its obvious they are leaving a crap load of plot holes so that the fans demand a sequel than will also fail just as much =_=" (saw the movie and i found it to be a waste of time =_=)

Death Note. Movies were frickin' awesome (well, I've only seen the first one, but...the first one was awesome).

Just about any movie for...any anime...is awful. Here's why: they're either compilations, or they're OVAs. Hollywood likes doing compilations: they squeeze a season into 90-120 minutes (depending on animated or live-action). The problem with compilations is that they collapse 5-10 hours of character development into 2 hours. It's not the same.

OVAs are often even worse. Japan loves these. They involve the characters in conflict with some villain(s) we've never heard of before, and it usually involves some ridiculous power (to justify making these villains equal to our hero, who has had several hundred episodes of...being a shonen character...to get ridiculously powerful) that would completely transform the landscape of the universe were it canon. Often, they make no sense. There's one particular anime I'm thinking of...it's named after some kind of laundry fluid...Bleach!

Memories of Nobody - awful!

The DiamondDust Rebellion - awful!

Fade to Black - awful AND made even less sense than the others!

I don't Anime being turned into Live Action movies. ALL of them have failed. Dragonball Evolution, The Last Airbender, and now I learned that they're making a Live Action Naruto movie. It's all terrible and people will just never learn. Shame on the Japanese! SHAME!

Hmmm I never watch Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender was awesome and I don't know why people think it fail and also its not Naruto it is a live action Bleach, hmmm maybe their is Naruto live action.

Oh and the script writers who are currently trashing JACK.

The script writers for the show in general. Too much of Yusei being even more of a Canon Sue than Judai, forgetting its own plot in favor of introducing other things just for merchandising, and characters being derailed way too much, even if for a minute.

Also, The Last Airbender sucked. If I didn't go to the midnight premiere, I'd probably just hate it more.

I have these things called standards. You should get some. In the mean time, allow me to summarize the plot of each movie:

Memories of Nobody

Ichigo is doing things, and then there's this weird girl and she can't remember stuff. Then there's apparently this thing called a Memory Rosary which I guess is some kind of...rosary? Maybe made out of...memories? Then the girl goes and has a strange scene in a mall and then apparently Soul Society wants to capture her or something, in an attempt by the writers to recapture a hollow (no pun intended) echo of the Soul Society Arc. That lasts about five minutes. And apparently the Memory Rosary isn't a rosary it's actually a girl and it's the weird girl that's why they call it a Memory Rosary I guess except that doesn't make sense. Then some evil people come and they want to destroy Soul Society because...they were banished? I think? So they want to use the Memory Girlsary to do...something involving...colliding dimensions or something maybe? But then Soul Society shoots a thing and Ichigo fights a guy so it's all okay but then the girl has to die because otherwise it would be all too easy but then she's not dead because that would be too sad but then Ichigo can't remember her maybe because it was all a dream except it really happened.

The DiamondDust Rebellion

So there's this random generic artifact of XXXtreme power and it gets stolen. Then Hitsugaya runs away from the Soul Society because it's cooler that way and there are these two random Arrancar that were put in because...it's cooler that way. Again. And he does stuff with Ichigo and he fights people and apparently there was this one guy who also had Hyourinmaru but then he was killed by Hitstugaya because the Council said he had to because they're evil so he had to kill him but he didn't. So the other guy swore eternal revenge on Hitsugaya for not killing him. Then the guy goes to Soul Society and he has the generic artifact and transforms and freezes stuff and the two Arrancar are there and then they're defeated and then they beat the guy but they don't actually so then Hitsugaya fights him and wins and then the movie's over. Why's it called The DiamondDust Rebellion anyway? It's a cool name, but where's the...rebellion? And the...Diamond Dust?

Fade to Black/BLACK

Captain Mayuri goes insane and stuff blows up. Ichigo forgets Rukia and then he remembers her because the stupid mascot reminded him so he goes to find her but then Soul Society doesn't remember him because they don't remember Rukia so they kill him but he survives. Also there is this one girl and one guy who are really creepy and they fly around and make evil glowing happen and they have Rukia and they like her and they're very nice even though they're evil. Apparently she found them this one time and they didn't have names so she came up with names but never told them but they want to know but she forgot. Mayuri has a spare brain. The girl and the guy were attacked by a Shinigami possessed by a Hollow that could manipulate memories and then it got on them and they were teleported to Hueco Mundo but later they came back but they had the Hollow except it was dead and they were evil but they weren't really. So Ichigo is cornered by the Soul Society guys and then Urahara randomly appears and explains the whole plot. So apparently everyone's memories are connected so when one person forgot about Rukia then everyone did but then Ichigo remembered but no one else did and because they forgot about Rukia they forgot about Ichigo since he wouldn't be a Shinigami if she hadn't existed but I think that's a time travel rule, not a memory rule. So then they're in Mayuri's lab and there's this white stuff which is very bad and it killed Kenpachi and then they use Super Polymerization to fuse themselves with Rukia and become Dark Rukia which actually looks really cool. And so Ichigo fights Dark Rukia and the white stuff starts destroying Soul Society because it's evil white stuff and then Kenpachi's not dead and he does stuff and Ichigo does stuff and he beats Dark Rukia and then they all separate and all of them are okay and then Rukia remembers their names and everyone is happy.

But I'm sure the next movie will be GREAT!

THe first two Death Note movies where awesome. L save the world had almost nothing to do with teh original anime though. It sucked and it gave me a big ass headache. Dragonball Evolution sucked. The live action Higurashi movie sucked. They all sucked. NOW THEY ARE GONNA RUIN NARUTO!? DAMN THEM! I mean what's next? A live action Code Geass movie!?

True Death Note 3's only connection with Death Note was L and another character from Wammy's House K. I dislike them naming the male kid in it Near, and the amount of Engrish, I can't flaw Kenichi Matsuyama's performance as L (He had L to a t, infact if I recall he was nominated for best Supporting Actor and won Best New Actor twice for Death Note), he just had a rubbish script, the fact that L couldn't die before the predestined date he'd set himself made alot of things rather pointless seeming. (IMBD is showing a 2011 DN release?!)

I agree with you whole heartedly on 5Ds Roxas.

Other script writers maybe I'm not happy with are those behind Midnight Detective: Nightwalker, maybe the novel ended (I don't quite believe my friend on this) but Cain leaving Shido with Riho, after saying he still loves him, and then ending the series doesn't seem right, after all Cain isn't about to let his lover go after so long.
