Question

Just wondering if there is a limit to the amount of fusion material monsters possible for one fusion. i was looking at "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon" and although it has two listed materials its kind of like 5 so i want to know if i should make this a fusion of fusions. thanks

The highest I've seen, for Fusions with Specific monsters, is 3. Chimeratech Overdragon is unlimited in Fusion Material Monsters, but you can't use Future Fusion to summon him and keep him on the field. His effect will destroy Future Fusion, therefore destroying him. So the most would probably be 12, like LiAM said.

I'm assuming you mean a fusion made of X specific monsters.

I say 2/3 is a Maximum...

Cards that Fuse

X name monster + Y name monster

Are ussually -1

other example could include a third monster

X name monster + Y name monster + Z name mosnter

And that is ussually a -2

Balancing cards that generate this kind of disadvantage...is easy...you made effect sightly more powerful on monster that require more setup and spend more resources as a way of getting an interesting reward of your Fusion...passing the Barrier of 3 Specific Fusion material would make the card necesary overpowered in order to contrast with the loss of advantage and setup you put on it and that is bad....Look for example...

The only card to have 5 Specific Fusion Materials...(3 of them are specific and the other 2 are limited to few options)

And how good its effect is compared to the work you got to put to actually pull it...

On the other hand there are other Fusions like Chimeratechs, FGD, Worm Zero that require and on some of them no...Lots of Fusions materials but the Materials are so generic that they are Listed as a whole---
