Kaisu
This story will be told by those of the Six. There is no Dueling, only Duel Monsters. This story is about the monsters themselves. The Six's tales as they fight for freedom in Hero City is this tale. The Japanese text is there to show the change of perspective to the new writer. It will be underlined to avoid confusion. [spoiler=Pre-story Chapters][spoiler=Prologue - The Immortality of the Silent]They fear us, so they hunt us. They hunt us, the legendary Six. I was once a part of the Six, until war took it's toll. In our world we fight against the relentless forces of the Elemental Heroes. I, Bushido, was crippled as we fought. We are a noble group that fights for our freedom. In our fortified Dojo we train until we exit our sacred grounds to fight. Too much blood has been shed. A curious group of birds had once come to us for help. Fane, the black-robed birdman had called himself. In a quick movement he would lash out with his chain. In an epic battle we fought and died honourably. "We are gathered to fight for a noble cause, my sons. Against those who relentlessly attack another group of beings we will fight!" Sensei had announced. The Grandmaster of the Six Samurai, he had mastered all six scrolls. "We shall charge into battle! Zanji, Irou, you two shall lead the charge! Yaichi, Kamon, Nisashi, Yariza! You shall fight with me! Bushido, you shall lead our footsoldiers into battle! We are to fight and die, if needed to, honourably! My sons, we shall fight for freedom!" He declared. I, Bushido, had lead the largest group as we marched towards the city of white. With the help of Fane's quick chain we poured through the gates. We challenged a group of heavy-armoured warriors as I struck through their numerous plates. As we hacked away at the army come to meet us I felt a burning sensation on my back. A great white mark had appeared on my back. The footsoldiers were now attacking a white-haired paladin. His red cloak billowed in the wind as he parried attacks from all sides. He was stronger when he struck, I noticed. He bore two swords, a glowing blue blade and a shining white sword. A black swarm appeared in the sky as the battle turned. A great bird in solemn robes was swooping down. A crew of spear-weilding troops followed soon after. They were all in perfect harmony as their feathers were glued together by the wind. "Sirroco!" The paladin screamed as he turned and stabbed his white sabre into the nearby footsoldier. Throwing the body away he tried to escape as Sirroco's flock allowed their spears to fly through the air. Jain was peirced at an unimaginable number of angles as he fell to the ground in a heap. He turned his head and roared as his eyes glazed over. The soldiers recollected their bloodstained spears as Sirrco shook his head. "It's him! It's Jain!" A soldier cheered as one of them strayed from the group. His spear had impaled the human right through the heart. His through was cracked and his heart clogged as Bora continued deeper into the city. I got to my feet and followed after him. "Zanji! Irou!" I called as another warrior released a pack of snowy hounds. They were faster than my sword as they hit into my armour. Impaling them I tried to continue and another pack bounded towards me. A black cloak whipped my face as Irou unleashed a relentless wave of attacks. Zanji landed in front of the one releasing them as another group of mismatched birds joined them. I stood back up as I began to explore the city. "You're not from here, are you?" A soft voice asked. I turned to find a woman dressed in long white robes with short blonde hair facing me. Her hands were glowing with a soft light. "More white? Is there any colour in this place?" I remarked disgustedly."I asked you a question." She snapped."Then, obviously, no." I sneered."Oh, I see." She replied. I turned to leave when a growl behind me caused me to spin. A white beast faced me in shining white armour. I roared with fury and struck the armour. I was hit back as it ripped me off it's body. I was flung across the street as two warriors quickly came. "I'm Garoth and obviously, you don't know the law around here!" He shouted in my face."Kill me or let me stand." I spat at him. He let out a malicious laugh."Your heroics have no effect here." He sneered as he struck me with his halberd. 六武衆-ザンジ On Bushido's account I will tell our tale. During the time of his capture we faced off with another warrior. "Be ready to die honourably!" I warned as I leapt into the air. Keeping a inflexible posture my scythe swiped him on the back of his head. It was a gruesome sight as the top part of his head came clean off. "Irou, let's continue! We need to clear the feild!" I sggested as Irou trailed behind me. He remained silent as he siped his katana in one fluid movement. Our part in this plan was simple. It was the most difficult to carry out though. We were to clear a path for our clan to reach the Lightsworn's God. Once there they had to stay alive to preform Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan. This would effectively kill their God and end the war between the Blackwing Tribes and the Lightsworn Realm. In the central plaza we set up a meeting place for the birds to land. We had mustered all the Blackwings tribes we could muster. Silverwind was among the first to arrive. "Ready to die, Lightsworn runt!?" He roared as he lumbered towards me. He suddenly flew up and was about of strike me when my scythe was at his neck. He had frozen mid-air as his wings flapped crazily to avoid my blade. "We, as the Six are too skilled to be killed this easily." I told him ominously as I waited for the others. Bora, Kalut, Silverwind, Blizzard, Elphin and an assortment of other birds all began to roost on the walls of the gate. By now night had fallen and Celestia would appear in the morning. 六武衆の侍従 While the rest of our forces united I was being held prisoner by a druid. He chanted a series of spells from his tome as things around me morphed and attacked me. The pain was worse than dying fifty times over the the humiliation was worse. Ask anyone of the Six and they will all reply saying death was more honourable than being captured. Escaping from capture without affecting the rest of the clan was most honourable though. That was what I planned to do. Either I escaped or died. The brightly lit room hid the fact that night had fallen as Aurkus suddenly grew more agressive. His eyes were wider and his skin was streched as he turned white. Literally. His clothes were ripped as he suddenly changed into a great white beast. With great golden claws and sharp blue eyes he was a fearsome creature. I tried to restrain from screaming as he ripped away my armour and delved into my flesh. By our law I was now meant to make a vow of silence. Until I died I would now never speak. Using my bloody fingers I drew a rune on my throat. That sealed the vow. I was now a silent warrior.[spoiler=Prologue - Death's Worshippers]The pain was intense. The druid happened to be unable to control his forced transformation. A narrow swipe at his head cut into the wall behind him. Bricks were crumbling as I struck his hand. A claw of his had been loose and despite my weak state it was driven into the wall. A stream of thick golden blood followed Aurkus' hand as I ripped out the yellow bone from the wall. I leapt up with the weapon in hand. Plunging my foot into the wooden table as it broke into two. I stabbed his eye with the small item as I felt a jolt up my arm. I saw a summoner with numorus arcane circles emitting from her hands. Her blonde hair was flying as she chanted a series of charms and runes. I saw a large border around Aurkus' presence as she etched a series of runes into the ground. While my attacking arm was frozen in the Spellbinding Circle the rest of my body was free. There was a faint green glow around Aurkus and part of my arm. "Don't think I'm letting you free, Prisoner Bushido." She replied. I roared in fury at the young spellcaster. I glared in reply."A small bird flew up to my window and sang a beautiful song." She teased."The dishonourable one told me everything." She said so furiatingly. "Ironic." She smiled to herself. I cried out in vain. They seemed to have betrayed us. "That bird sings too often... Or composes. Lyla is an acomplished sorcerer. A simple bird's mind is too easy to penatrate." Lumina explained absentmindedly. "Enough talk. Rinyan!" Lumina called. A small cat-like creature came up to Lumina's shoulder. "Keep guard." She ordered as it jumped towards the circle. "Inform me when it wears." Later on a red-haired spellcaster stepped into the room. Smiling, she used her staff to make a blue aura over the wounds. She left me be as my raw cuts began to scab over. Rinyan left with the spellcaster. "Has Jenis left yet?" A voice nearby me asked. A slab behind me was pushed up and moved over to the side as a small teenager pulled herself over. She had brown pigtails and bronzed skin with golden googles. Her white and orange clothing was dirty as she jumped out. "I'm Ehren. I'll get'cha outta here." She smiled. I spat at the sight of another Lightsworn. "A Lightsworn Birdwatcher, you could say." She laughed, noticing my reaction. "Sirroco sent me here to scout. Never expected you find someone like you here." She explained. "Well then, take your katana." She began as she broke the glass case with her fist. "When I deactivate the circle, you need to stab Aurkus. Don't mind where, just not over the blue parts." She instructed as she knelt down at the edge of the circle. "Ready?" She asked. Without waiting for my consent she uttured a strange word and swiped her hand over one of the runes. It dissapeared as Aurkus flickered back to life, along with my arm. The blue glow seemed to heal his wounds as I plunged the blade into the beast's chest. It ripped through his skin and the hilt was hidden in his fur as Ehren avoided the monster's attacks. It began to settle as I swung to the side to avoid being crushed. "Good work ossan, let's hurry up and get outta here, eh?" She suggested. She peered out the window and jumped as a black figure swept across the gap in the stone turret. I gazed out as a large bird carried her away from the building. I clambered onto the ledge as I followed another bird with my eyes. Barely holding on I gripped it's neck as it screeched. "You're a heavy one!" It yelped. I had repositioned myself so I was now properly riding it as we headed towards the gates. "Celestia!" It squaked as an angelic figure raced behind us. I kicked the raven's back and lunged towards the white person. The woman's eyes widened with suprise as I positioned myself on the small soldiers. Stabbing my sword into her back I made yet another jump. Her weapon glanced my foot as I steered myself towards a tree. I spied Shien sneaking up towards the palace gates as the rest of the Six followed from a distance. Irou landed on a sturdy branch beside me as Zanji crept up the small indents in the castle walls. Irou, like Bora of the Silverwind Tribe, had made an oath of silence. I sketched the rune with my finger on my throat again as he nodded solemnly. After leaving the hidden branchs of the great oak we followed behind Shien. It was going to be a hectic battle inside. The spacious castle was easy to navigate as the temple the God lived in seemed to emetate a powerful aura. Many warriors and paladins challenged us as we advanced towards the temple. Lumina was standing at the doors with Aurkus' hovering body behind her. "I'll let you through then." She announced dreamily as she continued on her way. As soon as we opened the doors great cries and roars were heard. I saw paladins bursting through the wooden doors in fright with white burns all over their armour and bodies. "Gragonith, the great Dragon of Judgement." Shien muttered to himself. As we entered the main temple we encountered great golden dragons in shining white armour. They seemed to feed on the bodies of the fallen Lightsworn as Aurkus' morphed body was throw in. With every body they devourered they seemed to rally their energies while unleashing what was not needed. As the body of Celestia fell from a platform above she was instantly consumed. The dragon roared to it's tribe as they all gathered. They communicated telepathicaly but their words were easily heard. With their powers they seemed to fear none. With the powers our servants have given to us... "It's finnally happening!" Lumina cheered behind us. Zanji's scythe was instantly at the neck. Those who have sworn to serve our master... "I never though it'd happen..." Another voice whispered. Soon what appeared to be the whole city had gathered. The god of light who rules over us will now be summoned with our presence! With every chant another dragon joined in. Appear to us now, Great Gragonith! The divine dragon of judgement! The whole group chorused. Their cries where perfectly synchronized as a voice echoed in our minds. T H E L I G H T S W O R N H A V E S E R V E D M E W E L L T H U S F A R . The Lightsworn community fell silent as they worshipped the mysterious voice. B U T Y O U H A V E S T R A Y E D F R O M T H E T A S K I H A D O R I G I N A L L Y C O M M A N D E D . As we, of the Six, began to preform Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan as great portal of light appeared where the dragons where the dragons where gathered around. An aged grey dragon filled the temple as Shien shouted the last of the chant. "And with the elements of Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, the art of Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan shall be fufilled! With Water's relentless flood, those in our way will be destroyed!" Shien roared. The four stood up as Shien thrust his palm towards Gragonith. "Scroll of Yaichi, God's Arrow! Great flood, destroy!" Yaichi's scroll was flung out as he unleashed an arrow. As it skimmed across the ancient blue paper it drew energy and water. When it struck Gragonith the water surrounding it was equivilant to a flood as he was struck by the arrow's merciless power. With a great roar we were sent away from the Realm of Light. A great black storm came over the temple as Gragonith destroyed the whole building. What happened then, only the survivers of the Blackwing colony know. We eventually came to settle back in our humble dojo. My body was badly injured and I was partially paralyzed. The entrance to the dojo became known as Bushido's Gate as I operated the great doors to our world. I can announce that at least one Lightsworn lived. Dressed in heavy armour it left behind the world it had lived in. With an inpenetratable defense it was known as Dawnbreak Gardna. Thank you. Based off Lord Smeagle's Serious Business with his approval. And as a note, that's right... I'm back in the fanfic section. If anyone remembers me. It's a small forum, the fanfiction section of this site.
Lord Smeagle
I'm Lord Smeagle and I approve this prologue. I was expecting this to be more as a separate arc than a reimagining, but I think it could work. Are you going to continue with the first-person narration? Kaisu
Yup. The Chamberlain(Bushido) is only going to have a few chapters though. Grandmaster will have an epic extra-long one... Which he tells of the story of what happens at a moment in which he wasn't at. If you want, I can make the birds make the final kill after the 'God' takes out most the Six Samurai. Kaisu
Bump. Why does no-one care about the good fanfiction nowadays? At least, this is good by YCM standard ;_;
Erinyes
They care, but just don't feel like reading. Meh, I will read it later. Looks promising.
